Hi Enzo,

Regarding Malcolm Offord's page and the question of whether or not her should be using "The Right Honourable" - I emailed the House of Lords for clarification. They replied:

Good morning

Thank you for your email,

We can confirm that Lord Offord of Garvel's full title does not included 'The Rt Hon'.

As indicated on his Parliamentary webpage:

The House of Lords is not responsible for and cannot update Wikipedia pages.

We hope you find this information useful.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

says... amongst other things....

"Subnational flags (regions, cities, etc.) should generally be used only when directly relevant to the article. Such flags are rarely recognizable by the general public, detracting from any shorthand utility they might have, and are rarely closely related to the subject of the article. For instance, the flag of Tampa, Florida, is appropriately used on the Tampa article. However, the Tampa flag should generally not be used on articles about residents of Tampa: it would not be informative, and it would be unnecessarily visually distracting.

A common example of use of subnational flags would be that of a list concerned with subdivisions of a specific country." Andrewgprout (talk) 19:03, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 03:02, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Cincinnati FBI Field Office.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file licensed as "for non-commercial use only", "no derivative use", "for Wikipedia use only", or "used with permission"; and it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag and if necessary, a complete fair use rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Information icon Hello, I'm Julietdeltalima. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Sun Country Airlines, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. New statistics require a new source. Unrelatedly, please become familiar with MOS:JOBTITLE and MOS:HONORIFIC; "John Smith, founder and chief executive officer" is correct, while "Capt. John Smith, Founder and Chief Executive Officer" is wrong. Julietdeltalima (talk) 18:24, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Chinook Display Team has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not really particularly noteworthy, the RAF is not alone in having many of these single aircraft "display teams" over the years (four or five every year) and none pass the threshold of a stand-alone article

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. MilborneOne (talk) 14:11, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Chinook Display Team for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Chinook Display Team is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chinook Display Team until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.

Replaceable fair use File:Baron Parker of Minsmere 2021.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Baron Parker of Minsmere 2021.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 17:23, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:James Dewar 1980.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:28, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to names and honorofic_prefix in person infoboxes

[edit]

Hi, I've reverted some of your edits that move "Sir" into the name parameter of various person infoboxes, because we have a honorofic_prefix parameter for this in the template, and if you read the documentation for the template, you'll see that "Sir" is even the example given as an appropriate use for this parameter. I realise it may be part of their names, but that's not what the template is asking for :-) EditorInTheRye (talk) 06:49, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source/license for File:Philip Connard NPG 4702.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Philip Connard NPG 4702.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 14:45, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Postnominals templates

[edit]

Hi. I saw your edit summary. The reason for my edit is pretty deep into wikipedia and history and so on. Essentially we don't change the size %age on an established post nominals template. There was a long discussion about this at some point in the past - not all that long ago, but long enough for me to have forgotten when it was - and this was arrived at as the only real consensus that could be arrived at. Basically it stops people edit warring over this sort of thing - I understand the point you're making, but there's an agreement...

So, I'm going to remove the post nom template entirely from the infobox. It's unnecessary to use there - in fact, we probably shouldn't use it there. That will keep it bigger but not clutter up the page with templates when they aren't needed. Hope that's OK. Blue Square Thing (talk) 14:44, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ThorDrive moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, ThorDrive, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. US military. date format

[edit]

Hi, per WP:MILFORMAT:

"In topics where a date format that differs from the usual national one is in customary usage, that format should be used for related articles: for example, articles on the modern US military, including biographical articles related to the modern US military, should use day-before-month, in accordance with US military usage"

So please do not make any more changes to existing date formats as you've done today. If you disagree with the guideline in general, the place to propose changing that is Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers. (Note that there is a current discussion there at WP:MILFORMAT question, so you can add your opinion if you wish.) If you disagree with its usage on a particular article, which you believe may be out of the scope of the modern US military, then raise the issue on that article's talk page. Thanks. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. DrKay (talk) 14:17, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick correction to the prior message about the 2022 MILHIST coordinator election! Your recent editing history at Neil Cameron, Baron Cameron of Balhousie shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Hello, as Abraham, B.S. has already pointed out to you, MOS:HON makes it clear that there are only a few exceptions where the 'Right Hon.' honorific may be used. I suggest you explain your reasons for making an exception in this case on the article's talk page rather than reverting and risking a block. Regards, Stroness (talk) 15:08, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My revert has already been reverted and I do not plan on changing it again. AviationEnzo (talk) 15:13, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:43, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable non-free use File:Archbishop Dennis Marion Schnurr.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Archbishop Dennis Marion Schnurr.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.

Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:35, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Enzo, I see we've been working on the same project. If it helps, I checked all the peers created by Elizabeth II except those created under Harold Wilson. Killuminator (talk) 16:00, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I just checked all the peers created during Wilson's second term and it has been completed. Therefore, only peers created during Wilson's first term need to be checked now. All peers created during Queen Elizabeth's reign should be good to go after that. AviationEnzo (talk) 21:41, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have absolutely no idea where you got it from that we do not add prefixes or suffixes to infoboxes for officers in the British Armed Forces. They are no different from anyone else. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:05, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What I meant to say was that this hasn't really been done for a vast majority of BAF members. I don't think we should start now when a majority of page's infoboxes aren't done like this. AviationEnzo (talk) 17:12, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Irrelevant. They should be done like this, just like anyone else's. Not a special case. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:45, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
