Can anyone help to get this article approved? It is about a woman who is deputy mayor of Jerusalem. A male reviewer decided many months that being a deputy mayor does not confer notability! Can anyone help? It has been the on waiting list for review since May. We are talking about an article that has many solid references and the subject is a notable woman who is working to better the city of Jerusalem and the welfare of women.--Geewhiz (talk) 05:23, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- Hmm. Seems there is lots of "conversation" going on with respect to women, but no action...--Geewhiz (talk) 11:25, 30 July 2019 (UTC)

Review of Yum China CEO page
Hello! My name is Monica and I work for Yum China. I am looking for editors to review the article for the company's CEO Joey Wat.
As explanation: I created a Wikipedia account to suggest improvements to articles related to the company, including CEO Joey Wat. In the past, we at Yum China weren't aware we needed to explain our conflict of interest. We have since learned about the site's policies and have disclosed at Talk:Joey Wat.
There were two tags on the article added following edits made by my colleague before we were aware of the rules. I have been looking into how these should be dealt with. The editor who accepted submission at Articles for Creation removed the undisclosed payments tag, but the COI tag remains. The editor who added the COI tag seems to think I offer paid Wikipedia-editing services, which is not true. If there is any problematic content, I can take steps to help address and I am happy to do so, but so far no editors have confirmed which text is inappropriate. I'm now seeking wider input. Can someone from this project take a look at the article and share any concerns, or explain what's needed to remove the tag? There is further discussion at Talk:Joey Wat. Thanks, MX Yum China (talk) 07:48, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
hi all, just added a couple of women projects to Wright's talkpage, i was quite shocked at the article's sorry state for such an iconic mother goose illustrator (it hasnt been improved much since its creation in 2005!), and thought i'd mention it here hoping that some editors may be able to add to it (i know i should be improving it but...). Coolabahapple (talk) 08:49, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Coolabahapple: Couldn't find much but have enlarged it a bit - found a source saying that not a lot was known about her life. Can't be sure about her dates - there's some fairly confusing and unconvincing genealogical stuff on the talk page. The book I found, Women Illustrators of the Golden Age might offer ideas for more articles on women illustrators.
- And that's another morning when Real Life stuff hasn't been achieved. Such is the Wikipedia time-sink! PamD 11:52, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

Hey all!
Many of you probably know me from Women in Red, but I'm a photo restorer, who tries to do a minimum of 50% women-related images. Have been succeeding this year, at least. Always open to suggestions, can't really promise to fulfill them, as research doesn't always pan out in an image that's suitable for restoration, but I'll try! Currently working on Gina Krog. Request for information on WP1.0 web tool
Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.
We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? Focus
A suggestion for your project page, because I recently managed to add a GA nomination to the "January focus: Musician", until I figured out that January 2019 is not January 2020: Replace the old #GA focus of the month by a wikilink to the WP:WikiProject Women in Green/Goal Tracking/2020, and get rid of the apparently also obsolete WP:WikiProject Women in Green/GA Tasks Bulletin Board.
Wild guess, WIG is not something to put in a WPBS if your project is already there, same idea as for WIR, where my attempt to keep WIR in WPBS—after asking how that should be handled—failed (=WIR removed twice). –84.46.53.188 (talk) 02:51, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
Script to detect unreliable sources
I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. The idea is that it takes something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (
John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.
)
and turns it into something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14.
It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.
I'm still expanding coverage and tweaking logic, but what's there already works very well. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 01:38, 24 February 2020 (UTC)

Female Art Dealers
Good afternoon from Berlin, there is a project that I would like to suggest and can work on myself. When I was observing galleries in Germany, Europe and the USA, I "naturally" noticed that women as art dealers only appeared very sporadically in the first half of the 20th century, and only slowly began to appear more frequently after 1945 from the 1980s. In the 1950s and 1960s there were some pioneers who had to fight very hard (in the US less than in Europe). I would add a contribution about gallery owners in the contribution Art Dealer and would be very grateful for content and language support / corrections. Many greetings

Women footballer / soccer player articles nominated for deletion
An editor is nominating numerous articles about women footballers / soccer players who have played in top leagues in France and Sweden. The leagues most likely were included on WP:NFOOTY unbalanced list of notable leagues at the time of creation - and have since been removed but that's probably irrelevant here. Basically, many of the articles need improved referencing to meet WP:GNG.
Please see centralized discussion: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Women in Red#Proposed deletion of women's footballer / soccer player articles.
Or if you're able to help update the articles to ensure WP:GNG met, even better. Searching French or Swedish Google makes a difference. Hmlarson (talk) 23:13, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
March 2020 : Tell Us About Here results
Hello!
During March, Wiki Loves Women ran the Tell Us About Her campaign on the ISA Tool. The drive was aimed at improving the visibility of political leaders and activists across Africa on Wikimedia projects. If you do not know it yet, the ISA tool is a fun and mobile-friendly tool that helps players to add better descriptions to photographs within selected categories that have been uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. The descriptions make the images more useful on Wikipedia and Wikidata. The information that is added to the image description is structured data (in the form of depicts or captions). Categories chosen for the Tell Us More About Her campaign were related to politicians, activists and, in particular, feminists based in Africa.
You can find out more about the campaign and the results here. There are many campaigns currently running on the ISA Tool, this was the first women-focused one. Please feel free to add your own! Isla Haddow (talk) 10:59, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

The Princesse de Broglie painting and a biographical article on sitter
I wrote the article Draft:Pauline de Galard de Brassac de Béarn about the subject in The Princesse de Broglie painting by Ingress. Galard is referenced as wikidata:Q16206573 with no articles on any Wikipedia sites. There are only a few sources that address her personal accomplishments. Yet, she was a French noble, married to a famous person and the mother to several other people with WP articles. According to current guidelines, the subject does not meet WP:NBIO. One suggession from the WP community was to merge the biographical article into the existing article on the painting. This might be the best choice. I am concerned that this recommendation to add personal information about the subject in the painting would not be a good fit. The existing article has feature status (and thus throughly reviewed and vetted) talking extensively about Ingress process, not the sitter. I would like to hear from other editors on this topic. Should the draft be removed due to community standards and allow the article on the painting to be expanded with more biographical details on the sitter? Or should the policy on notability be handled differently in cases like this? Thanks for any input that will help me sort out an approach. - DutchTreat (talk) 11:44, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

A few days ago, I happened upon the phrase that “Feminism” is the radical notion that women are people
. By no means was this my first experience with this definition, but it did prod my curiosity. It took all but seconds to learn that this definition is attributed to Marie Shear. I was a little disappointed to see the article about her is rather on the short side. Perhaps outside the quote she wasn’t very notable? I suppose I shouldn’t complain, as I’m not (yet) notable for anything. This is one of those cases where “so fix it” applies, but on the chance that this is being seen by eyeballs that are attached to brains already capable and inclined to fix it, I would be grateful for any improvements they may make. If anyone pointS me to some sources, preferably of the RS variety I’d be willing to work with you on dabbling with this article and using the fixins bar. If anyone here would like to take a look at the page and offer comments, it would be appreciated. You can find it here: Draft: Johanson analysis
While writing this article, I looked up the author of the analysis (MaryAnn Johanson) and found that a page existed for her some years ago that was deleted. The discussion I found for the deletion is somewhat brief and includes a rationale by one editor against the deletion. However, the deletion went through anyway, it looks like because the other editor didn't feel the references given for Johanson established notability. I suspect the original page wasn't written according to established Wikipedia practices, and that's what got it into trouble. I haven't seen the original article, but I don't see any problem establishing notability for Johanson, certainly not in 2020. She is a prominent film critic and feminist known in the US and abroad. I'd like to investigate the possibility of reinstating her page to provide a link to the page about the Johanson analysis. The analysis provides a more thorough manner of rating the representation of women in the media than the Bechdel test (and other related analyses), and the Bechdel test includes pages for both the test and its author. Such articles address the intent both of developing better representation of women in Wikipedia and through the Wikipedia, in general, as set forth in Wikiproject Women. I'd much appreciate any suggestions, comments, or help that anyone here on this. JacDT (talk) 14:03, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
- JacDT Your draft seems well in hand. Grand'mere Eugene is a fine mentor. I wouldn't worry overmuch about a previous article that has been deleted. If you are able to find adequate WP:RS, which are not promotional and can establish her WP:Notability, go for it. Whatever the problems of the previous version were, as long as your article is neutral, cited, not a WP:Copyvio and complies with WP:BLP, you should be fine. If you are interested, there are essays on writing about women available at Women in Red (WIR). At the top of the talk page, just click on the box with the logo at the very top (it's grey) where it says show. WIR is an extremely active and very helpful project, so if you need more help or input feel free to join us there. SusunW (talk) 16:53, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

New article moved back to draftspace
Hello! I'm a very, very new editor, and I'm wondering if there are any resources you recommend for ensuring my draft about health economist & CEO Kyna Fong (Draft:Kyna Fong) meets the requirements to be approved for the main space. As of now, it needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. I would greatly appreciate any feedback, help, or suggestions you have! Thanks so much. --Ambercooley (talk) 18:52, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
- It looks like you have made a good start, and just need more sources to write from on her early life and education. I left 5 potential sources on the draft. Let me know if you need more sources or any other help with this article. — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 00:12, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Meredith Kopit Levien
Hello! On behalf of The New York Times Company (and as disclosed on the article's talk page), I've suggested some updates (actually, corrections) to the Meredith Kopit Levien article at Talk:Meredith Kopit Levien. One editor implemented the first request, but I've struggled to get someone to review Additional_requests to fix inaccurate text. I've drafted specific changes here, which I hope makes reviewing and implementing easy. Would a member of WikiProject Women be willing to review and update the article on my behalf? Thanks for your consideration. Inkian Jason (talk) 18:16, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
- The request has been answered, so I am marking this section as resolved. Thanks! Inkian Jason (talk) 15:35, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

Discussion of draft Wikimedia Universal Code of Conduct closing in nine days
A Wikimedia committee has posted a draft version of a Universal Code of Conduct at meta which, while it contains language about respecting the diversity of community members and condemning hate speech that appears in vandalism, does not appear to prohibit or otherwise mention racism, sexism, homophobia, or other forms of prejudice outside of vandalism and direct insults (in the English version, at least.) It does concern itself with, for example, defining repeated sarcasm as a form of harassment. In the page containing summaries of committee meetings the words "racism", "sexism", and "homophobia" also do not appear. (In the English version.)
Perhaps there is a good or practical reason for this; I'm not personally familiar with the high-level Wikimedia policy development process. But the discussion of the UCoC draft closes on October 7, after which the drafting committee will submit its recommendation to the Wikimedia Board of Trustees, so I am placing this message in this talk page in the hopes of ensuring that editors who can comment constructively on the absence of language providing guidance on non-insult, non-vandalism expressions of prejudice get a chance to comment. --▸₷truthious Ⓑandersnatch◂ 19:39, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
