Yes, I know this page is historical (even though very well sourced page still can be helpful for many things on Wikipdias or eventually creatling new article "list of association football lkeagues) but I would like to ask why according to this page Fiji is fully proffestional since 20's, meanwhile Scottish second tier is not since 20's? I can not believe. Is anyone who has sources how much earn respectivelly football players in second tier in Scotland and how much at Fiji? Dawid2009 (talk) 12:08, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

According to the sources provided, the Scottish championship had a non-professional team join in 19-20, meaning they are not fully professional after that season. Conversely, the Fiji league began to be fully professional in 2020. Alyo (chat·edits) 15:45, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Why there is Sri Lanka Champions League but not Sri Lanka Super League on the list? Dawid2009 (talk) 12:30, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because the Champions League was added before 2018, when the Super League was formed. Alyo (chat·edits) 15:46, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The first professional league season is established in Iraq, in cooperation with La Liga. Surely this is the right moment to include Iraq in the list of professional leagues right? The page is no longer relevant anyway and has been deprecated following an RfC which resulted in notability of football players being decided soley by WP:GNG. --SuperJew (talk) 09:25, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Football Superleague of Kosovo is classified as a top-level league that is not fully professional, according to a 2017 report. This classification has been updated after each season; however, these updates have not yet been reflected on Wikipedia. I had asked you to re-verify the classification of this league on Wikipedia using the two documents published by the Football Federation of Kosovo: the "Rregullorja e Garave e Superligës dhe Kupës edicioni 2024/2025" and the "Rregullorja për statusin e lojtarëve", both of which are in Albanian. If you're unable to translate them, I can send you the translated copy by email. BalkanianActuality (talk) 08:26, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with SuperJew. GiantSnowman 18:06, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, GiantSnowman and SuperJew for the clarification, the reason for my request is that some of the Wikipedia articles created for Football Superleague of Kosovo players (such as Christian Mba, Jacek Deniz Troshupa, Shefit Shefiti, etc.) have been deleted on the pretext that the league is not classified as a fully professional leagues in the aforementioned list, although these meet the criteria of WP:GNG. BalkanianActuality (talk) 04:45, 14 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If they meet GNG then they are notable, regardless of the level they played at. GiantSnowman 10:12, 14 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
