Pittsburgh Artists File Index . This index covers visual artists, active between 1930-2000, with some connection the Pittsburgh area. The index refers to an entry in a catalog or local directory, citation in reference material, or a corresponding clippings file. The clippings file is a collection of newspaper and magazine clippings, opening event announcements, exhibition catalogs, obituaries, and other ephemera collected by Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh art librarians. The clippings file includes rare and unique items not easily found elsewhere.
