About

Art+Feminism is an international campaign that addresses problems with Wikipedia’s representation of women. Less than 13% of Wikipedia contributors are female and articles on notable women’s history in the arts are missing. In an effort to start addressing the gender gap and representation challenge, the Art+Feminism campaign calls for people to participate in international edit-a-thons to create better coverage of women. Anyone can stop by an edit-a-thon to get training and resource to start improving Wikipedia.

  • Sadads (talk) – I will be there at the beginning of the day, but have a meeting part way through, that I will have to step out for. Sadads (talk) 01:16, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
  • voidxor (talk | contrib) – I'm a desktop user so I won't have a laptop to bring.
  • Smuckola (Email) (Talk) From reading the pages involved here, I still have no idea what it is that we're specifically expected to do, nor how to participate remotely like it says we can do. I live in Kansas but can't attend in Lawrence. Does this have something to do with a video conference, or with an editing task list that will be given tomorrow, or just following the edits of the other people listed here? Thanks.
Hey @Smuckola: It would be great if you contributed to some of the topics identified at Wikipedia:Meetup/ArtAndFeminism/Tasks! We will also generate more of a list of missing items tomorrow, that you could edit around, and we could use for the KC editathon later in the month! Thanks for letting us know you will be participating remotely!Sadads (talk) 14:48, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
@Sadads: Oh ok. I eventually found that list, but I didn't know if there was some purpose in remote participation with this specific Lawrence group. I guess unless we're in the same room, there's limited efficacy to there being a geographical group, but I would specifically help that group if they needed something. I guess that's what I get for living in nowhere. If you were on IRC (like #wikipedia-en on irc.freenode.net) or Hangouts or whatever, I would join it. — Smuckola (Email) (Talk) 14:52, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
@Smuckola: It would be great to pull you in via a hangout for a little while! Ping me! and we can figuring something out :) I generally don't use a lot of irc, and we don't want to find ourselves in another busy channel (tomorrow there are a lot of Art+Feminism evets).
