Utopia

You link the cast list to that provided by the BBC website. That does not list Jacobi as the Master, and nor did the closing credits at the end of the programme itself. There is, of course, the difference that John Simm is not credited on the website, but is on the TV programme. I suppose we'll just have to see if these change over the next week, 86.140.113.129 19:21, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's so as to invite people to conclude that people are right that the name 'Mister Saxon' is used as it is an anagram of 'Master No. Six' (which is an odd way of writing things, really). I've added this to the Utopia continuity section, 86.140.113.129 19:41, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Master Regenerates.jpg

Hi. Looks like you uploaded Image:Master Regenerates.jpg but forgot to include the detailed fair-use rationale for the image. Remember, a rationale must be specific to only one article and must explain how it is being used to provide critical commentary in that particular article. --Yamla 15:53, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fan-cr*p

Hi, I’ve made a proposal here, about fan-cr*p on Doctor Who articles in the wake of a broadcast. Any opinions?--Rambutan (talk) 16:44, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've replied to your comments. Thanks!--Rambutan (talk) 17:04, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Template:Sea Devil television stories. I do not think that Template:Sea Devil television stories fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because Having few links or little content is not a speedy deletion reason, the matter can be reasied and discussed at WP:TFD if you wish. I request that you consider not re-tagging Template:Sea Devil television stories for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Template:Silurian television stories. I have removed similar tags on:

You might want to consider a joint nomination at WP:TFD where the relevant issues can be discussed together. DES (talk) 17:45, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RfA

I noticed that you and Cliff were discussing the matter, and while I think he needs more time, you look good to go. Everything seems in place for an RfA success. What do you say? --tennisman 04:04, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll even co-nominate you. ;) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  04:05, 19 June 2007 (UTC) P.S. RfA/Sceptre and RfA?Sceptre 2 were both done, but whack me with the blue flamingo if I shouldn't have changed the link in the template to RfA/Sceptre 3. :P 04:10, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
My bad on that one, but I completed the nom, so it's up to you now. --tennisman 04:31, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've already supported, though you haven't accepted! Sorry.--Rambutan (talk) 09:45, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We can work with the whole "Independence Day Admin" thing, you know. :P Give me the date! --tennisman 02:51, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the redundant tag from this image. Almost redundant isn't good enough, the images need to be identical. MECUtalk 15:39, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Martha Jones.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Martha Jones.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 07:30, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Will :)

Thanks very much for wishing me happy birthday! I had a great day - well, it could have been better, I spent all day studying for an exam! But let's concentrate on the positives, hmmm? :) My friends got me a great cake, a lot like this one, and since you've been so kind, I saved you a piece. Hope you enjoy it, and the rest of your day :) Riana (talk) 10:06, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Sound of Drums

I think you've made a mistake with your last edit on this page. (Where you removed the "Harold" from Mr Harold Saxon). It was established in The Lazarus Experiment that Saxon's first name was Harold. I haven't reverted the edits in case I'm missing the point. Kelpin 10:57, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When was he referred to as Harry Saxon? He was Harold Saxon in the Lazarus Experiment - I don't recall anyone calling him Harry? Either way I don't see the harm in including his first name - it's adding more information to the wiki, its sourced and its accurate. Kelpin 11:08, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In case you don't believe me see this site http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_tv27.htm Kelpin 11:10, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Surely an episode of the series is a more reliable source than a Press Summary? I don't care if its Harry or Harold, I think either is more accurate than just Mr Saxon which is what you reverted it to. Kelpin 11:12, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No they do not. The BBC Doctor Who website said that Davros was going to be in the season 1 final episode for a brief time as a spoof. The episodes are canon - other BBC sources whilst normally reliable are not. Kelpin 11:16, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That wasn't the BBC website, that was IMDB. Mark H Wilkinson 12:49, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You may be right - it was a long time ago. However it's irrelevant the TV Series must always be considered canon, the same cannot be said for the BBC, otherwise the Doctor is on at least his 15th Regeneration now because of all the Doctors we saw in Doctor Who and the Curse of Fatal Death

As it was only up for a brief time I wouldn't know where to start, and in any case we're getting off topic. Harry and Harold are the same name. Harold has been used in an episode, Harry has not yet. Please change it back to Harold for now. If in the episode Saxon is called Harry in preference to Harold then it can always be changed to Harry after the episode airs. Invasion Dating

My sincere apologies if this is the wrong place to write this but I'm totally inexperienced in all and there's no on-page direction as to how to message people...

I'm simply curious as to why you reverted my correction of the dating of The Dalek Invasion of Earth to the highly dubious 2164. The date of 2164 is generally accepted to be non-contemporary with the story, not only for the logical reasons I stated in my footnote (why would they still be making desk calendars when half the world hasn't been able to feed itself for ten years?), but also based on The Daleks Master Plan in which the Doctor points to the year of the invasion as 2157, setting DIoE a decade later in 2167.

The date of this story being 2167 has been successfully argued on the page devoted to the story, and has not been removed from there.

Thanks, and sorry again if this isn't the right place for this. - Themindrobber 19:04, June 22 2007 (UTC)

"End of the universe"

Hi. Could you be more specific? Which article contains the link and in what context? :-) Chris 42 21:34, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed the link on Master (Doctor Who). It seems more appropriate to me, but perhaps someone who is more scientifically minded will revert if it's not. Chris 42 22:10, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to remove unsourced stuff, fine. But do not remove sourced information like you did to this page. And as for your claim that all season 19 eps are unsourced, that is completely untrue as all have at least one source on the page. -- Scorpion0422 12:43, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  1. I am not guessing the order, they are sorted by production code.
  2. Each plot is verified by a source
  3. Each name is in the copyright database, except the Valentines day one and its "title" is simply put as "unknown".

And WP:CRYSTAL says that verifiable information can stay. -- Scorpion0422 12:54, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would if I could, but I can't, the USCD doesn't let you link to individual pages. The USCD is an acceptable source for FLs and just recently the List of The Simpsons episodes - which uses the exact same sources - passed an FAR meaning that the sources are acceptable. -- Scorpion0422 13:01, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Fine, then I'll sort them alphabetically. -- Scorpion0422 13:05, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2008 it is

'Sound of Drums' has cleared up the dating issue. Just for the record, thou, this is the first thing to date the stories to 2008 that doesn't count as original research or wilful interpretation. 172.213.149.166 18:28, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unseen Footage in "The Sound of Drums"

Nothing to do with me. I didn't add anything about unseen footage, I'm afraid. Kelvingreen 20:06, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect I added it back in accidentally when making another change. Apologies. Kelvingreen 21:00, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Drumbeat

As it is so achingly obvious, there is little need for citation on this occasion. However, as I can see that you will continue to remove it, I cannot be bothered reinstating it. Wolf of Fenric 00:13, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If the Fear Forecasters, other Wikipedia contributors, the people I watched the episode with and I, myself, noticed it, to my mind that makes it fairly obvious... I understand the need for citations on Wikipedia, but to erradicate the obvious in order to comply with this seems a little odd. Wolf of Fenric 00:20, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But we're talking about the drumming in "The Sound of Drums". Wolf of Fenric 00:26, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And in the episode "The Sound of Drums", the drumming he hears sounds like the beginning of the Doctor Who theme tune... Wolf of Fenric 00:30, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
By that logic, every single sentence entered into the plot section should be sourced with reference to a third party as surely contributors cannot be trusted to describe the events they have seen on screen. Wolf of Fenric 00:37, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re: re-redesign

Sure, might as well--so long as I have veto power. Don't be offended if I revert something, it's just that my artistic tastes are highly sensitive....as you can probably tell. :-) Something fairly understated and professional, but with just a touch of whimsy, perhaps? ;-) K. Lásztocska 01:15, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you indulge me and somehow incorporate Hungarian national colors (red, white and green) a little bit? Not in too overtly bombastic a way or anything, just maybe a little accent here and there. ;-) Thanks so much for offering the redesign btw, I owe you one. K. Lásztocska 01:22, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. But if you ever need a favor, don't hesitate to ask me. K. Lásztocska 01:25, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks fabulous. Thanks so much. I'll probably be tweaking little things here and there, but overall I like it very much! K. Lásztocska 03:30, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering if you are ready to take me on through the admin coaching program. your status says that you should be able to take people on after 15th June 2007. Therefore, I assumed that you would be able to take me on. Thanks, Jhfireboy Talk 15:39, 24 June 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Thank you, dear WIll!

Thank you for all that you have done!

Your unspent heart a message sends
Of grace and sacrifice hard-won
Upon which happiness depends!

Thank you so much, dear Will!

Note about Talk:Mudkip

Regarding your post in that section of WP:AN/I, don't assume the anons aren't going to read your comments - one of them threatened me and another laid a personal attack against me after comments I made on the Mudkip talk page because I brought up policy concerns similar to what you put there. Talk page deletions

I understand the reasoning for wanting to discourage forum-type discussion, but if the info presented has potential to warn against silly additions to the cast list, I think it's worth keeping. Moreover, a contribution not connected to casting[1] was also lost. Mark H Wilkinson 13:00, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Maps

I noticed your map of the M62 and wondered if you would be prepared to do some for other notable motorways, for example M1, M4, M5 etc. Thanks. Ian¹³/t 17:31, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem thanks. Would it be possible to produce such a map using aerial photos, or would that be a copyright infringement? (Derivative works.) Ian¹³/t 17:47, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What right do you have to edit User:Ursasapien/Userboxes/antiDIME? It is in User:Ursasapien's userspace, and he can put whatever he wants there. The MFD was withdrawn, so you have no right to unilaterally remove or redirect the userbox. -Royalguard11(T·R!) 20:35, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Then you mine as well nominate every single userspace userbox for deletion (you know, I've noticed that Wikipedia has become more and more intolerant over the past 6 months). -Royalguard11(T·R!) 00:57, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Then why the redirect? Isn't it to make a point, since you withdrew the MFD? -Royalguard11(T·R!) 01:04, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you be more specific about my being "uncivil"? Could you give a specific instance where I have been uncivil or are you simply assuming bad will on my part? On the contrary, I can give you several instances where I was treated uncivilly. I understand the userbox was stated in the negative, however the userbox was only on my userpage and expressed my POV regarding the encyclopedia. Ursasapien (talk) 08:23, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, please DO NOT redirect anything on any of my user space. I would prefer you to just blank it. Ursasapien (talk) 09:03, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I still maintain that I was simply expressing an editorial POV. A POV that is much maligned by a group of committed editors. I have been called delusional, ignorant, and asinine. I have had my userspace redirected and purged. Are you still maintaining that the word "cabal" is so inflammatory that it rises to this level of harassment and intimidation? Ursasapien (talk) 13:11, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose my point is that I was using the word cabal in both senses. One, I feel I have been personally attacked (and yes that is uncivil). Secondly, it was an attempt to make light of the attack through humor. For example, if I blanked your user page, saying it was unencyclopedic and a polemical statement, then proceeded to put the "X" image up for deletion because it was orphaned, would you consider this a personal attack? Ursasapien (talk) 13:19, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So the sole difference between humor and incivility is whether or not someone is offended? Someone certainly could be offended by your userpage if they mispercieved it. Perhaps an editor would think you are politicking for a particular board candidate or even a rabid fan of a particular football team. Then they would be justified in redirecting your userpage because they had taken offense to your in-joke. My cute little userbox was an in-joke between myself and one other editor that has felt persecuted. I have tried to get this editor to lighten up and understand that this is simply an editorial policy dispute. However, this whole situation is an excellent example of the statement,

"When you start accusing everyone of being in on a conspiracy [apparently even as a joke], you shouldn't be surprised if they decide to confirm your paranoia by banding together against you." —khaosworks
