You tagged a film as WP:CSD#A7
I see from your talk page preamble that you've been around a long time, so I'll assume you know something I don't about speedy deletion criteria. Can you tell me how a film qualifies for speedy deletion under CSD#A7? Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 15:07, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Huggle problem
In this revision you attempted to warn a user about a page that was being submitted for speedy deletion, but the Huggle template did not display the message properly. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 16:30, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
You can close that case. No-one but an IP makes a fuzz over the redirects anymore. – sgeureka t•c 22:14, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Why did you delete the page??????????
Hey, are you crazy or what? You say you deleted the page about the Japanese movie A tale of Mari and three puppies because it was about a web site?? What's wrong with linking a movie article to the official web site of the movie? This movie was the greatest hit in Japan in 2007. Maybe you are racist and because you don't know a movie which didn't come out in your country yet, you just abuse your admin priviledges to delete an article you don't like. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AugustinMa (talk • contribs) 11:01, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
I need graphics editing help
I noticed you are listed to help people in designing their user pages.
Well, I need help with a similar type of thing - graphics editing.
I'm preparing to coordinate this:Coming July 15th to the Awards Center: The Around the World Competition. Three types of awards will be presented, including a World Champion Trophy! Hone your advanced tools skills, 'cuz you'll need them! If you'd like to be kept up to date on this and other happenings at the AWC, sign up to receive the AWC Newsletter here. |
I've got to have all the awards done by July 15th, and I don't even have the first one finished yet.
I'm looking for someone who knows how (or is interested in jumping in and learning how) to work on images in xcf format using GIMP, or Inkscape, etc. (Because I and others will need to be able to edit each image's layers after you are done with it).
If this sounds like something you are interested in helping with, please drop me a note.
By the way, both GIMP and Inkscape are free, making it easy to get started from scratch.
I look forward to your reply.

Thanks. If I hadn't found your "Isn't this where...we came in?" thing I would have never found out about The Wall and therefore never gotten into pink floyd. Again, thanks.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Hurleylost.PNG)
Thanks for uploading Image:Hurleylost.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 11:23, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Secret Combination the Album
I have moved it back to "Secret Combination the Album" as it is the right and official name of the CD. It is the way it is published on the CD, her record label and site, as well as IFPI. The "the Album" is not just added to the end because there is a CD single of the same name, but because it is actually part of the title of the album. There was a mistake when moving it back, and I accidentally moved it to "the album" (not capitalized), so I have requested an admin to capitalize it. Greekboy (talk) 01:20, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Just saw your oppose on this RFA - and it's quite a bold statement. I don't need e-mail details, necessarily, but was the candidate a participant in the harassment, or did he just let it occur, or did he argue that it was not actually harassment? Or would it be better to e-mail evidence? I'm unclear on the circumstance, so whatever works for you is fine - but I was prepared to support and am now unsure, so more information is warranted. FEMA trailer
Hi. It looks to me like your edit to FEMA trailer was overly agressive. You removed both poorly referenced claims and well referenced points, including removing all mention of the Formaldehyde problems which were cited with links from mainstream press articles. Perhaps you'd care to take another look or comment on that? Thanks, -- Infrogmation (talk) 16:13, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Professor River Song
Hi, I created an article about Professor River Song that was deleted by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:The_Rogue_Penguin , I feel unjustly. His whole argument is that there is not enough about her to warrant an article. However, I feel that once the article is reverted back into existence, it will rapidly fill up with facts. Take for example, the character Jenny, who so far has only been in one episode but has her own page. Can you please let me know what you think? (Wordforge (talk) 19:18, 17 June 2008 (UTC))
I reviewed you. Note also that one of the quickest Featured Article promotions was George Washington (inventor), about five days after its creation, and it was displayed on the Main Page one day later. If only it were that easy... :) Yechiel (Shalom) 17:00, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Hey there Will,
Somewhat back in the day (well, last year), you posted a nice hello to me when I was temporarily back on the encyclopedia. I don't know if I actually ever replied (for shame if I did not!), but I'm now back more permanently (at least, that's what I say now!), and I just wanted to drop by and say hello. Hey, Will, could you explain your reasoning behind your comments at Wikipedia:Images_and_media_for_deletion/2008_June_15#Image:FotD_007x.jpg? I don't know the history behind this image, so I was wondering why you said the nomination was disruptive (especially since the image got deleted). There's a DRV to get the image restored, and although my opinion is that if the image violates fair use, the deletion was valid, but I was hoping to get input from you on the matter. "Journey's End"
Yes, I absolutely agree. But, it is the only reliable source we have - it is reliable and it is original research (Heaven forbid I should accuse you of such a thing...) to doubt it. I do happen to know what happens, and if you want to see, it's HERE [spoilers], but obviously you may know, and it's OR not for the article! ╟─TreasuryTag (talk ╬ contribs)─╢ 19:41, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- It actually hasn't! It failed to list Billie Piper (thus didn't say Billie Piper will not appear in this episode, in any way), but never printed anything incorrect. Has it ever printed anything incorrect? If not, then to begin suspecting it to be, is OR. ╟─TreasuryTag (talk ╬ contribs)─╢ 19:46, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm losing you. The issue is; has the press-release ever been known to include a factual error? If not, to speculate on whether it does (and as I and now you, I guess, know, it doesn't) is uncalled for. ╟─TreasuryTag (talk ╬ contribs)─╢ 19:50, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- Where has it been demonstratably proved wrong by the episode? What episode? What's been proved wrong? ╟─TreasuryTag (talk ╬ contribs)─╢ 19:54, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
The regeneration does not prove the press-release wrong. While it is perfectly possible that the details were witheld from the PO, if you want to definitively state that Tennant is not in the final episode, you must find a source to counter the existing one (the release). As I've said, I know how he's in the final episode; while that's not admissible, it's one of an infinity of plausible means for Tennant to appear, and to pick and choose is OR. ╟─TreasuryTag (talk ╬ contribs)─╢ 20:05, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- Edit-summaries such as this are un-necessary. Really.
- I'm not basing my knowledge I'm right on the rumour (which I can assure you is not ridiculous, you wait 'til next week), I'm basing it on the reliable press release from a reliable source.
- Tennant has been confirmed for this Xmas (photos of filming are available) and for the four specials next year. This, coupled with the press-release, is strong evidence that a full regeneration does not, in fact, take place.
- While, in the past, a regeneration has always resulted in a new face, there is no reason to assume (without a RS) that the trend continues, with such strong evidence to the contrary.
- You wait 'til next week! ╟─TreasuryTag (talk ╬ contribs)─╢ 20:15, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Mind blown: What's new?
Yes, I have been blown away yet again, but not as bad since it was somewhat expected that it would be bigger than anything we had seen. Now all we have to do is monitor all of the character biographies to make sure that there are no edits regarding "Stolen Earth" since we really don't know what is going to happen. For all we know, the Doctor could reset things to where nothing that has happened in the last four series has ever become public. All of those alien invasions could be hidden away from all but a select few. Who knows? :) - LA @ 15:29, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

- I didn't realize Harper had directed all three of them.--Dr who1975 (talk) 00:21, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- Please read my messages carefully. Your first response didn't actually answer my first question (something like... as the director of all 3 episodes, Harper would be a good authority on whether they are a trilogy or not)... so I did some research and had already figured it out by my second post here. but thank for confirming what I just told you I knew.
Regardless of my whining above... you are correct, Harper is a good authority for this peice of information since he was intimitaly involved in the production of all 3 stories... but if he had only directed Turn Left then there would be a need for greater specificity.--Dr who1975 (talk) 00:32, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Re:continuity
Including information elsewhere to prevent continuity being the whole article is good. Great, even. But that doesn't mean a whole section should be deleted. What is left is neat, relevant and not mentioned elsewhere. So it should stay. For now at least, until the talk page discussion has run its course. U-Mos (talk) 16:00, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I think it is important to mention that TSE takes place immediately after the events of Turn Left. Just my opinion, but I'm not going to revert or push the issue. Toomanysidesofme (talk) 20:36, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- "At the beginning of the episode," -> "Immediately following the events of Turn Left,"? Toomanysidesofme (talk) 20:40, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know it makes the whole sentence too long. I think if it said "immediately following...Turn Left", we can assume it is in the beginning of the episode Toomanysidesofme (talk) 20:46, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
The Stolen Earth DYK
Hi. I've reviewed your DYK submission for the article The Stolen Earth, and unfortunately found a problem with it. Please feel free to comment on the DYK submissions page. Cheers, Olaf Davis | Talk 21:58, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Could you explain?
Could I trouble you to explain a bit further your reasoning here? There appears to be no accompanying citation at the end of the summary phrase, and some specificity is called for. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 15:14, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- I am not saying it shouldn't sing the praises. I am saying that we have to cite it at its first mentioning. I noticed a ton of citations lower in the article. We don't need that many, and it is usually considered ugly to put that many there. Choose the best (read: most reliable) and bump the rest. It should also be cited in the lead, as it is the place where it is first mentioned. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 15:31, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- I am not suggesting adding the large number of citations to the lead. I am saying trim down the citations to the most reliable one and also use that in the lead. It's a fairly significant claim, and consensus in Lead is to list citations were necessary (trust me, I was on your side of this argument). - Arcayne (cast a spell) 15:38, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
