Deletion

Would you like to be nominated for teh ultimate deletion? ♦ Maddie talk 22:02, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Don't see any problems ;). Cheers, Razorflame 22:04, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Razorflame, the editor you are, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that you satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space. Your opinions on yourself are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at User:GlassCobra/Editor for deletion#Razorflame and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit during the discussion but should not remove the nomination (unless you wish not to participate); such removal will not end the deletion discussion (actually it will). Thank you, and have a good sense of humor :). ♦ Maddie talk 22:13, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Deleting my comment

Is there a reason you deleted my request for page protection and replaced it with your own? Croctotheface (talk) 02:24, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

I used Huggle to add the request for protection...I did not mean to delete your request. I think it does that to avoid duplicates...Cheers, Razorflame 02:25, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your efforts

Just noticed that you reverted the changes to Jonathan Leavitt. Many thanks. Those vandals are something, aren't they? Regards, MarmadukePercy (talk) 03:07, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Yep, no problem. I am constantly amazed by the amount of vandalism that this project gets. I do try to keep combatting the vandalism, however, most of the time, there is just too much vandalism to be able to revert it all. Even making 1,000 reverts a day isn't enough to keep the amount of vandalism down. Cheers, Razorflame 03:09, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
The folks reverting the vandalism here, and those correcting misspellings, are the unsung heroes of this place. Many thanks for your work. MarmadukePercy (talk) 03:16, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Again: Answer

This is an answer to your contribution on my talk page. I think it's too complicated to sign up here at the English Wikipedia. When I tries to enter the username I want, the computer says "No! This username is too like an already existing user". I can try with everything, but I won't take care of it. I'm not up to continue trying sign up, but I want to. Please answer.

Bot problem

Hi. Your bot made an error on Template:Archive box collapsible by placing the interwiki at the bottom of the page, instead of in the correct location, which caused it to transclude on all pages. Please rectify this. Thanks, PeterSymonds (talk) 09:04, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Also, while I was protecting Creation according to Genesis, I noticed 4 interwikis to the Simple English Wikipedia. PeterSymonds (talk) 09:59, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Was still doing the same things at 12:39, 21 February. Please 1) put the interwikis inside the noinclude tags if added to the template itself, 2) check the /doc subpage for existing interwiki links. Gimmetrow 13:31, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

A lot of its edits are being reverted as errors now, so I have blocked it temporarily pending fixes to the code. Best, PeterSymonds (talk) 15:19, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

IW bot

Hello. Please look at this edit. It caused problems since this iw was later included in other templates and then in other articles. Template IW is usually being nonincluded and often it is being stored on a /doc page. Even the name "doc" may vary from wiki to wiki. If you don't have idea how to fix this, my suggestions is to just don't modify on the templates. 本 Mihajlo [ talk ] 14:20, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Darkicebot adding wrong interwiki

I think your bot has created a link to the wrong Lichfield at this diff. I have reverted the change, but how many other similar occurrences are there? Jan1nad (talk) 12:25, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

To tell you the truth, that does not seem to be a bad interwiki edit. I just checked and that page does exist on mi.wikipedia, and after translating it, it seemed to be about the same topic as this Wikipedias' version of it. Hope this helps, Razorflame 15:06, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
I'm sorry, the link you added refers to a Lichfield in Waikato in New Zealand. See also mi:Waikato, and compare the map location there and in the article with, for example, this. Jan1nad (talk) 15:37, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Every Edit Marked as Minor

I just noticed that it seems you mark every edit you make as minor. Is there a reason for this? Cheers Crafty (talk) 21:38, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Every edit made by Huggle is automatically marked as minor. As for my other edits, I have the option set so that every edit is marked as minor that I make because most of the time, I'm just doing quick small copyediting changes or fixing something else on a page that is minor. That's the reason for this. Cheers, Razorflame 21:39, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
Ah. Well and good. That said, some of the edits you make (such as comments on Talk pages and Noticeboards) shouldn't be marked as minor. You might wanna check this out. Regards, Crafty (talk) 21:41, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
I know that certain edits shouldn't be marked as minor, but I usually just make a quick note or something, so I usually just leave it as minor. Furthermore, I know what a minor edit consists of, so I know what to mark as minor and what not to mark as minor. Thanks for the advice, anyways :). Cheers, Razorflame 21:43, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Counties

It looks like the category is being directly added by {{Infobox U.S. county}}. While I agree with you about duplicate categorization in principle, I don't know if all 49 other states have their counties properly categorized — so I'm leery of making a change that could potentially make a major mess. Bearcat (talk) 07:14, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Problems with TV station IP addresses

Hi there. Thanks for your interest in the Cebuano Wikipedia.

I do have a strong suspicion that they all belong to a single user, Gabbyshoe, which makes our job easier. They all have the same writing style and temperament, and all edit the same types of articles. This same user has once been blocked on our Wikipedia for vandalizing Danngarcia's userpage (see here), given that the latter consistently undoes his unconstructive edits. Gabbyshoe seems to have also taken to creating numerous sockpuppets on the English Wikipedia (see here where he seemingly tries to fabricate an interaction between two users) and recently, it seems, on the Cebuano Wikipedia, as well (Gabby-shoe-teams‎, Mear Ilas, Japioki-dose are those I'm aware of).

Gabbyshoe also has a tendency to edit a page and then immediately undo his changes, apparently with the sole intent of leaving a hostile edit summary (see here). He did the same when he vandalized Danngarcia's userpage.

Once, he even uploaded a personal photo of his on the Cebuano Wikipedia.

I've just requested here that a checkuser be done on this user. --Pare Mo (talk) 07:22, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:28, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Demographic history of Macedonia

Hi,

I noticed on the WikiProject Romania page that you are interested in assessing articles related to Romania.

I've been reading articles about the Balkans, Macedonia, the Ottoman Empire, etc., and stumbled upon Demographic History of Macedonia. I think this might be a good one to look over, and in fact it looks to me that it might even require an overview from an expert.

I'm not really experienced enough to interfere with an article of this scope, otherwise I would take a stab at it. But I would like to point out a couple of things that I think are really off from Wikipedia guidelines, as I understand them.

  1. Why is this part of WikiProject Romania?
  2. The entire "Macedonian Question" section is terribly sparse on sources.
  3. The article never mentions the perspective of those living in the Republic of Macedonia/FYROM or identify its contemporary demographics in respect to historical populations.
  4. The article doesn't match up with the more neutral articles on related topics, such as Second_Balkan_War and Macedonian Struggle.
  5. The talk page is overloaded with disputes which have bleed into the article and range from accuracy of sources to ideological positions.

Thanks,

Andwats (talk) 23:03, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi, we probably shouldn't call communications from this user on our talk pages vandalism. This is a new user and just doesn't understand how we do things here. I left a few links on their talk page and hopefully they'll eventually look there and start to understand the process of how articles are built. Dawnseeker2000 16:47, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi,

Regarding your edits to this article:

1. You reverted the addition of taxa described in this article to the list; however, the article really described 30 new taxa of beetles - obviously one can't add them all to the list in a single edit without adding large quantities of text.

2. You added back the text that was moved to the separate article 2013 in arthropod paleontology. However, with hundreds of taxa listed and over 400 articles cited, the main article became problematic to edit. I simply applied the same solution that was once applied to the article 2012 in paleontology in the same situation: I moved some of the content to a separate article. The 2012 article has in fact four such additional pages, including 2012 in arthropod paleontology.--Macrochelys (talk) 19:01, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Kazundo Gouda's Name Problem

Hello Razorflame,

I noticed that someone had changed Kazundo Gouda's last name to Goda, a spelling that I have not seen before & which is different from the spelling on the original version of this Wikipedia page, from my memory of the TV show/other Wikis/other websites/message boards/forums/websites/et cetera they usually have the last name spelled Gouda with an alternative spelling of Gohda; and so I think that you should change the spelling back to Gouda while also mentioning the alternative spelling Gohda, unless you have an official source stating that Goda is now the correct spelling.

I could be wrong but I do not see Goda as being listed as the official correct spelling of the last name or even as an alternative spelling of the last name.

About Kakatiya dynasty:

About Kakatiya dynasty:

You have reverted back the removal of section "Clan of Kakatiyas".

There is no proof or archaeological or literary evidence to prove that. The citations are not valid as they are concocted in 20th century and not a product of serious research. An old text of Srinatha explains that a clan of warriors from north india came seeking asylum from a Kakatiya king and he settled them near east coast of present Andhra pradesh. The region is known as palnadu. There is no evidence that the flag of Kakatiyas had any yellow colour.

From what I saw, it was mass removal of content from this page, not reverting back to the removal of a page. Razorflame 22:51, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the response. The history of Kakatiyas is well established in literature before 19th century. This page used to be beautiful with rich content. Somehow, the content and valid citations are lost and invalid and non-scientific references are used to include content which is utterly wrong. For example, there is no word "Kamma" in use at the time of Kakatiya dynasty. It is a recent term in Telugu language. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.107.111.172 (talk) 23:03, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

I don't think that is vandalism. There is no established clan of Kakatiyas. The section is a recent edition and concocted. Please leave the historical pages of Indian subcontinent to people who have sufficient knowledge of history. I will have proper login tomorrow to discuss with you on this matter. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.107.111.172 (talk) 23:13, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Material deleted by Razorflame that was submitted by balenceinall on St. Ambrose.

The material submitted was in fact incomplete, because, as a new user, I was trying to determine how to use the footnotes. However, I would like to know why you took the liberty to the delete the material submitted. I am in fact reluctant to continue to make any submission as I do not consider myself an expert on this topic. My source on the topic is Peter Brown, distinguished Professor of History at Princeton and his recently published book:"Through the Eye of A Needle:Wealth, the Fall of Rome, and the Making of Christianity in the West, 350-550 AD". Ambrose's philosophy is a major topic in the book, and in reading the Wikipedia article on Ambrose, I was struck by the lack of much information on his positions on property and on providing for the poor. The most significant material on topic is provided on pages 131-134 of Brown's book. The material explains and quotes from a translation by I.J.Davidson of Ambrose's De Officiis,which is one of the sources cited in the Wikipedia article. The quote you deleted came from De Officiis. Another quote from this source that I was going to use, says in part: "It is nothing of yours that you are bestowing on the poor, rather you are giving back something of theirs." There are other ways in which I think the Wikipedia article in unbalanced, but I will leave that for a later discussion, as I have less basis for my point of view.

Modifications on the entry/ article "Orani Church"

The modifications / corrections carried out by "Virgen Milagrosa" are part of a research work being done directly with the Dominican Archives of the Convent of Santo Tomás de Avila in Spain, where the original manuscripts and records of the Dominican missions in the Philippines, (including the documents pertaining to the town of Orani, Bataan) are kept. New discoveries are being made at the moment, and whatever modifications/ corrections by "Virgen Milagrosa" have the documental support of this aforementioned archive in Spain. Some of the modifications are minor but many have to do with important facts that refer to the dating and identity of the Spanish friars named in the article. There are also grammatical corrections. Arrested Development Edit

Hi. I added that edit because it seemed like missing information without it. If the reader of the article hadn't seen the episode, they would be a bit confused as to who trashed the apartment in the first place. Michael theorized his two brothers, as the article already states, but the narrator says it was Lindsey. If that detail wasn't there, it would just be confusing because it doesn't say who trashed the apartment, when we know who did it. Thanks for responding. 173.28.36.57 (talk) 01:13, 6 August 2013 (UTC)

Seemed counter-intuitive to include it at that time, though you can re-add it now as it doesn't seem like a bad edit now. Razorflame 22:29, 6 August 2013 (UTC)

Hello,

I am attempting to update the external link to "The Anne Shirley Homepage" website listed on the Anne Shirley, Anne of Avonlea, Anne of the Island, and Anne of Windy Poplars pages. The current link is to http://anne.honeytart.com, which is now a defunct domain. The new web address is http://anneshirley.webs.com/index.htm. I made several updates in a row and those edits were considered "vandalism." I'm not sure if my changes were reverted because of that and/or because of the webs.com domain the webpage is now hosted on. However, the webpage is still the same - a resource about Anne Shirley and the Anne of Green Gables books series. Please let me know if those changes are possible. Visitors right now are just directed to an error page because the link is broken.

Oh, Razorflame, don't you know how mathematics works? I believe the Aussies scored more runs. Let's break it down. The Aussies scored 527 runs in innings number 1 and 172 runs thereafter, totalling 699 runs. England started with 368 and in the 2nd innings received 37, equalling 405. Because 699 is bigger than 405, I find it in my best interests to have Australia as the victors. The difference is 294 runs. If you cannot do a simple addition, then I have no hope for your future. Please stop being such a plonker.

(It appears that you made a grave mistake and lost the above details)

Huggle 3

Hey Razorflame! I am Petrb, one of core developers of Huggle, the antivandalism tool, which you are beta testing (according to https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers). I am happy to announce that Huggle 3 is ready for some testing. You can read more about it at WP:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta. Please keep in mind that this is a development version and it is not ready for regular use. That means you must:

  • Watch your contribs - when anything happens you didn't want, fix it and report a bug
  • Frequently checkout source code and build latest version, we change it a lot

If you find any problem with a feature that is supposed to work perfectly, please let us know. Some features are not ready yet, it is listed in known problems on Huggle3 beta page, you don't need to report these - we know it! So, that's it. Have fun testing and please let us know about any problems, either using bugzilla @ http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/ or #huggle connect. Please respond to my talk page, I am not going to watch your talk page. Thank you Petrb (talk) 10:58, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

Huggle 3 beta is out - and we need more feedback!

Hey Razorflame, how are you? I am Petrb, one of huggle developers, and you are currently subscribed as a beta tester of huggle on meta (meta:Huggle/Members. You may not have noticed, but this week I released first beta precompiled installers for ubuntu and microsoft windows! Wikipedia:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta has all the links you need. So if you can, please download it, test it and report all bugs that is really what we need now. Don't forgot that as it's just a beta it's unstable and there are some known issues. Be carefull! Thank you for helping us with huggle Petrb (talk) 16:24, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

We need your help testing latest huggle

Hello,

I am sending you this message because you listed yourself on meta:Huggle/Members as a beta tester. We desperately need attention of testers, because since we resolved all release blockers, we are ready to release first official version of huggle 3! Before that happens, it would be nice if you could test it so that we can make sure there are no issues with it. You can download it packaged for your operating system (see Wikipedia:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta) or you can of course build it yourself, see https://github.com/huggle/huggle3-qt-lx for that. Don't forget to use always latest version, there is no auto-update message for beta versions!

Should you find any issue, please report it to wikimedia bugzilla, that is a central place for huggle bugs, where we look at them. That is i mportant, if you find a bug and won't report it, we can't fix it. Thank you for your work on this, if you have any questions, please send me a message on my talk page, I won't be looking for responses here. Thanks, Petrb (talk) 15:16, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

New huggle 3.1 is going to be released soon

Hi Razorflame, we are to release a new major version of huggle, but we did receive almost no feedback from our beta testing team, which you are a part of (see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members). It would be of a great help if you could download it (if you have windows, all you need to do is getting http://tools.wmflabs.org/huggle/files/huggle3.1.0beta.exe and putting it to a folder where you have installed huggle) and test it. You can always get a help with making it @ #huggle connect!

Major changes:

  • Multisite support - you can now log in to unlimited number of wikis in 1 huggle session and get a huge queue of all edits made to these wikis. This is good for smaller projects which gets overlooked often.
  • Ranged diffs - you can select multiple revisions and get a huge diff that display all changes done to them.
  • Fixes of most of bug reports we had so far

In case you found a bug, please report it to bugzilla: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/buglist.cgi?product=Huggle&list_id=147663 thank you! Petrb (talk) 10:13, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

The edit was very relevant, as the state of California recently became the 1st in the nation to specifically adopt rules for Youth MMA , aka Pankration and delegated regulatory responsibility to the United States Fight League. This was done over a 1 1/2 year process and started with Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla passing assembly bill 1186, granting the state authority over the sport and the athletic commission forming a 3 person subcommittee meeting approximately 15 times to develop rules and regulations to govern the sport.

Hello Razorflame,

I am afraid I do not understand why you just reverted the changes we made on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AT_Internet? We kept very neutral and simply updated the company facts, because the old page (the one you just published back) is outdated.

We can justify every point in the new page, we took care to add references to each point that could be seen as not neutral, what should we do so that you accept our changes?

Please feel free to explain us what we did bad, and the right way we can do our changes.

a bad edit

This edit of yours appears to be vandalism. You changed this:

V = (1/4)(14φ + 8)a3

back to this

V = (1/4)(14φ+8)(a)^3

The latter form clearly violates the norms of WP:MOSMATH and is done in a way that is clumsy and vulgar. The former is in accord with both WP:MOSMATH and usage conventions that prevail in a broader professional community than Wikipedia. In particular, the latter form does not italicize the variables V and a, uses a caret rather than a proper superscript, and lacks proper spacing before and after "+". You also changed this:

V = ()3 · (1/4)(5 + √5)

back to this:

V = (a*φ)^3 * (1/4)(5+√5)

The same comments apply here, and also the use of an asterisk for ordinary multiplication is vulgar. One can write 3 × 5 or 3 · 5; there is no need for 3*5. In a case like the present one, simple juxtaposition of variables is sufficient. Michael Hardy (talk) 18:58, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

Problems with you use of Huggle

There were several problems with your editing in relation to Masum Pervez Rubel:

  1. you reverted perfectly constructive editing;
  2. you gave no reason for reverting in your edit summaries;
  3. you made a spurious report at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism, on a constructive editor who has done no vandalism;
  4. you did so with no attempt to warn the editor involved, nor to explain to him why you disagreed with his editing.

I see that you did all that using Huggle. Huggle can be very useful, but it can also be dangerous. You are responsible for every edit you make, whether using automated tools or otherwise, and you must check every edit you make with Huggle, and make sure that it is justified, just as you would for manual edits. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 19:58, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

  • Since posting that message, I have looked at the other messages on this page. I see that you keep getting messages about problems with your use of Huggle. Even more concerning is your remark above that "Some things just happen that way", which suggests an indifference to errors that you make. If you continue in the same way, your rollback right will be removed, so that you can't use Huggle. Occasional mistakes are to be expected, but you are clearly not taking anything like enough care. I used Huggle very intensively for years, and I always had a browser open so that I could move backwards and forwards betwen Huggle and the browser, to check things which weren't easily visible in Huggle, such as the recent editing history of the article in question. It slowed down my editing, but that is the cost which must be accepted in order to make sure that one does not keep making endless mistakes. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 20:07, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

Huggle message

Hey Razorflame! You are receiving this message because you are subscribed at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers

I have recently launched a new downloads for beta testers that contains nightly builds of huggle, eg. versions that are built every day from our master branch and contains latest huggle. These builds are currently provided only for Windows and Ubuntu. You can find them here: http://huggle.wmflabs.org/builds/

Please keep in mind that these don't have any automatic updates and if you download and start using nightly build, you will need to update it yourself! So don't get yourself to running old version, it's possible to install both stable and nightly huggle, which is what I suggest.

Keep the bug reports coming to phabricator: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/task/create/?projects=Huggle Many thanks! Petrb (talk) 10:01, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Hello, Razorflame. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
