DYK for The School for Good and Evil (film)
On 11 February 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article The School for Good and Evil (film), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a seven-figure deal was made for Soman Chainani's debut book The School for Good and Evil to make a film adaptation less than two weeks after the book's publication? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/The School for Good and Evil (film). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, The School for Good and Evil (film)), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (ie, 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. The Searchers
Hi Pamzeis, sorry I'm late! Thanks for a message on The Searchers' page. And I'm sorry, I'm a beginner, I guess I'm still making mistakes :-) I'm fighting with English very hard, well as you can see in my articles. But those corrections I've made on Discography by The Searchers were all right. I'm sure about it. There is the title "Studio Albums", but it incl. also live album "Hear! Hear!". "Play the System" is not a "real" album but compilation of the band's B-sides for collectors. And there are UK and US albums together in one list, but in fact not all of them (that can be confusing, because there is for example missing "The Searchers No. 4"). And since 1972 there are preferred US titles, although The Searchers were British. I've tried to make it more clearly here: The Searchers discography. LukasHuttershofen (talk) 21:14, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Huttershofen. I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I know what you're referring to. I have no memory of editing The Searchers nor The Searchers discography. Could you please explain to me further what I have to do with this matter? I'm also not very familiar with discographies and matters of music, so if I did get something wrong, I hope you accept my apology. Thanks. Pamzeis (talk) 00:34, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Pamzeis. Oh geez, I AM sorry, it should not to be written to you! I'm really beginner! :-D Huttershofen (talk) 11:12, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

WikiCup 2021 March newsletter
Round 1 of the competition has finished; it was a high-scoring round with 21 contestants scoring more than 100 points. Everyone with a positive score moves on to Round 2, with 55 contestants qualifying. You will need to finish among the top thirty-two contestants in Round 2 if you are to qualify for Round 3. Our top scorers in Round 1 were:
- Epicgenius led the field with a featured article, nine good articles and an assortment of other submissions, specialising on buildings and locations in New York, for a total of 945 points.
- Bloom6132 was close behind with 896 points, largely gained from 71 "In the news" items, mostly recent deaths.
- ImaginesTigers, who has been editing Wikipedia for less than a year, was in third place with 711 points, much helped by bringing League of Legends to featured article status, exemplifying how bonus points can boost a contestant's score.
- Amakuru came next with 708 points, Kigali being another featured article that scored maximum bonus points.
- Ktin, new to the WikiCup, was in fifth place with 523 points, garnered from 15 DYKs and 34 "In the news" items.
- The Rambling Man scored 511 points, many from featured article candidate reviews and from football related DYKs.
- Gog the Mild, last year's runner-up, came next with 498 points, from a featured article and numerous featured article candidate reviews.
- Hog Farm, at 452, scored for a featured article, four good articles and a number of reviews.
- Le Panini, another newcomer to the WikiCup, scored 438 for a featured article and three good articles.
- Lee Vilenski, last year's champion, scored 332 points, from a featured article and various other sport-related topics.
These contestants, like all the others, now have to start again from scratch. In Round 1, contestants achieved eight featured articles, three featured lists and one featured picture, as well as around two hundred DYKs and twenty-seven ITNs. They completed 97 good article reviews, nearly double the 52 good articles they claimed. Contestants also claimed for 135 featured article and featured list candidate reviews. There is no longer a requirement to mention your WikiCup participation when undertaking these reviews.
Remember that any content promoted after the end of Round 1 but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is a good article candidate, a featured process, or something else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews.
If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Moana (2016 film) into Moana (Disney character). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 11:19, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

School for Good and Evil
Hi! I'm really sorry to bother you but I was wondering could we talk about the School For good and evil filming dates you put up. Filming for this movie has not actually started yet despite what the sources from January say. I was wondering could we maybe keep dates about filming down until we have solid proof it has started, as I have found other new sources that say otherwise.[1] Soman Chainani, the author confirmed on Instagram that filming has not yet commenced. I understand that we cannot use social media as a source, but when we have confirmation that filming has not yet started I think it is unwise to say that it has. I think it would be best to wait a few weeks until the reported filming date in April. I hope we can come to an agreement on this topic. Annanewquay (talk) 17:29, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Annanewquay. Consensus is that we should rely on the secondary sources for information on filming. If you think we should discuss it further, you can restart the RfC or discuss it on the talk page. While the information from the sources may not be correct, it is verifiable and on Wikipedia, we want verifiable content, not the truth. As for social media, I'd like to let you know it can be used as a source per WP:SOCIALMEDIA. EverNeverTV can not be used as a source as it fails #3: it has not been authenticated (verified) from what I can see. Pamzeis (talk) 01:28, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for Replying. New information has come out since that consensus was made, if you listen or read the source I sent you, the author clearly states that filming does not start until April. Combined with the information from his website, which is updated regularly and the information taken from social media it is clear that filming has not started. It is misleading to state that it has. In my opinion we should take down any mention of dates or it starting until further information is released. Annanewquay (talk) 09:53, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Annanewquay: I know saying consensus has already been reached is not a argument to make; however, the RfC was fairly recent. As consensus can change, I suggest you try to change it on the talk page (not my talk page) or restart the RfC as I suggested above. I did read the source you mentioned and you also mentioned it during the RfC; however, editors felt the secondary sources were better for relying on. The social media information, which I assume is the Instagram stories you mentioned on the talk, can't be used as we have no way of verifying it since Instagram stories come and go every 24 hours. I'm not sure it's "misleading" to say filming has started as we don't actually now which sources are correct. Thank you. Pamzeis (talk) 13:05, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
The majority of those editors reached their consensus before I attached that podcast with the author. You are right, we do not know if filming has started because there are various sources that contradicts each other. However when the author of the book, who is also a screenwriter and executive producer says that filming has not started, I would tend to believe that over the other sources, as I cannot find any information from the official Northern Ireland screen website, which is what was cited in those sources. I'm trying to reach a compromise here, there really isn't enough information on either side for it to be reliable which is why in my opinion we need to take down any mention of filming dates untill further information is released in the coming weeks. Annanewquay (talk) 19:31, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
So sorry for the double ping, but I just wanted to add that I don't want the dates ai believe to be correct added in, I just think we should either take down the dates altogether like I have mentioned before, or mention both sources. Rough Example: Filming dates are not confirmed but BBC (and other sources I forget the names of) reports X date while the authors website and interviews states Y date. Just an idea :) Annanewquay (talk) 20:10, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Annanewquay: Since filming is disputed, I've moved this article back to draftspace and I'll wait until April to submit it again. Do you agree? Pamzeis (talk) 02:02, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
Thank you, that's probably the best solution for the moment. Also is it ok if I ask you a question about sources, as I'm just not sure what's acceptable? Annanewquay (talk) 08:12, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Annanewquay: I'm not that good with sources either but I find WP:RS, WP:RSP and WP:RSN helpful in determining which sources are reliable. Thanks! Pamzeis (talk) 10:32, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
Thank You :) Annanewquay (talk) 18:57, 15 March 2021 (UTC)

WikiCup 2021 May newsletter
The second round of the 2021 WikiCup has now finished; it was a high-scoring round and contestants needed 61 points to advance to Round 3. There were some impressive efforts in the round, with the top eight contestants all scoring more than 400 points. A large number of the points came from the 12 featured articles and the 110 good articles achieved in total by contestants, as well as the 216 good article reviews they performed; the GAN backlog drive and the stay-at-home imperative during the COVID-19 pandemic may have been partially responsible for these impressive figures.
Our top scorers in Round 2 were:
- The Rambling Man, with 2963 points from three featured articles, 20 featured article reviews, 37 good articles, 73 good article reviews, as well as 22 DYKs.
- Epicgenius, with 1718 points from one featured article, 29 good articles, 16 DYKs and plenty of bonus points.
- Bloom6132, with 990 points from 13 DYKs and 64 "In the news" items, mostly recent deaths.
- Hog Farm, with 834 points from two featured articles, five good articles, 14 featured article reviews and 15 good article reviews.
- Gog the Mild, with 524 points from two featured articles and four featured article reviews.
- Lee Vilenski, with 501 points from one featured article, three good articles, six featured article reviews and 25 good article reviews.
- Sammi Brie, with 485 points from four good articles, eight good article reviews and 27 DYKs, on US radio and television stations.
- Ktin, with 436 points from four good articles, seven DYKs and 11 "In the news" items.
Please remember that DYKs cannot be claimed until they have appeared on the main page. As we enter the third round, any content promoted after the end of Round 2 but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed now, and anything you forgot to claim in Round 2 cannot! Remember too, that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them (except for at the end of each round, when you must claim them before the cut-off date/time). When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Concern regarding the article, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Forever
I heard that the Article, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Forever is up for deletion, as shown here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Little_Pony:_Friendship_Is_Forever Why would you do that?! I made that article, and everything on that page is true! I worked really hard on that article since last year, and I would really like it if that article stayed on Wikipedia. Please do not get rid of it! Keep it on Wikipedia, please! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mattyrobson (talk • contribs) 18:09, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, Mattyrobson. It's not my choice whether or not the article is deleted but you can make your argument here. Keep in mind that just something being true doesn't mean it warrants inclusion on Wikipedia. Instead, it must meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines, specifically WP:GNG: "
A topic is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list when it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject
" (emphasis in original). The two sources are from an anonymous user from, I'm assuming, ponychan, which is a fan site and, therefore, unreliable, and the unverified account of Jim Miller, which is not independent nor reliable as it fails to provide authentication. If you would like the article to be kept, you need to show reliable sources which provide significant coverage and are independent of the subject exist. Thank you. WikiCup 2021 July newsletter
The third round of the 2021 WikiCup has now come to an end. Each of the sixteen contestants who made it into the fourth round had at least 294 points, and our top six scorers all had over 600 points. They were:

- Epicgenius, a New York specialist, with 1083 points from 2 featured article reviews, 18 good articles, 30 DYKs and plenty of bonus points.
- Bloom6132, with 869 points from 11 DYKs, all with bonus points, and 54 "In the news" items, mostly covering people who had recently died.
- Gog the Mild, with 817 points from 3 featured articles on historic battles in Europe, 5 featured article reviews and 3 good articles.
- Hog Farm, with 659 points from 2 featured articles and 2 good articles on American Civil War battles, 18 featured article reviews, 2 good articles, 6 good article reviews and 4 DYKs.

We enter the fourth round with scores reset to zero; any content promoted after the end of round 3 but before the start of round 4 can be claimed in round 4. Please also remember that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them (one contestant in round 3 lost out because of this).
Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Robert McClenon (talk) 13:49, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Helping me find archived sources on My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic
I am trying to find archived sources on the website Internet Archive on the article My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, but I have had no luck. Every source I go to shows that the URL could not be found because of a server error. I checked everywhere and could not find anything. Please tell me what to do to find them. FlutterDash344 (talk) 23:41, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, FlutterDash344. I don't know much about server errors so I can't comment on that but I'll try my best to help you. When trying to archive sources, I often use iabot, which does it for you. You can click the bit that says "Run Bot" and pick either a single page or multiple pages (you might have to confirm stuff at metawiki first). I've never done multiple pages before so I can't describe that, but for a single page, type the article's title into the bit where it says "Page title to analy[s]e", tick "Add archives to all non-dead references (Optional)" to archive all references and click "Analy[s]e". It'll start loading and there will be a page where it tells you what it's done. However, I think that it doesn't archive templates such as {{cite tweet}} and {{cite AV media}} and sources which haven't already been archived (at the Internet Archive). When a source doesn't archive, I usually just do it manually which I'll try to describe here. This is the way it's working for me right now: If you want to find a source, go to web.archive.org and paste the link into the bit where it says "Enter a URL or words related to a site's home page". Then, if the source has been archived, they will be a calendar which has times the source has been archived. When you click on a date, it'll show you the "snapshot" times and if you click on a time, it'll go to the "snapshot" (the archived page). If your page hasn't been archived already, there's a bit on the bottom right which says "Save Page Now". Paste your link into the box below it and click "Save Page". Then, they'll be a bit which confirms it and you just click "Save Page" again. It'll start saving and once it does, there will be the words "A snapshot was captured. Visit page: [archived page]". However, some pages can't be saved, such as The Futon Critic; if a page can't be saved on the Internet Archive, I use archive.today. For this site, there will be a black, um, box with the words "I want to search the archive for saved snapshots". If you paste your link in the white box below them, you can find saved snapshots. If there are no snapshots, there's a red box(?) that has the words "My url is alive and I want to archive its content". Paste your link into the white box below the words and click "save". It'll start saving and, once it does, you'll be redirected to the archive page. Sorry that this is really long; I probably wrote it more complicatedly than it actually is. Feel free to reach out to me if you have anymore problems or queries (whether or not related to this one). Hope you find this helpful. Pamzeis (talk) 00:51, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
Pamzeis thank you for your help. I will try to enable InternetArchiveBot on my account. FlutterDash344 (talk) 04:29, 20 August 2021 (UTC)

Please don't revert my changes. 2 is as same as II. Wingwatchers (talk) 00:50, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, Wingwatchers. Yes, 2 sounds the same as II, but it doesn't look the same. Can you please explain why you think we should change the source's titles (which use "2")? Thank you. Pamzeis (talk) 00:56, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- Looks more organized that way. They sounds same, but using "II" is more official. Wingwatchers (talk) 02:14, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- With all due respect, I don't see how it does. Disney actually used "Frozen 2" during marketing and stuff like that. But really, why are arguing over something so small? Most readers don't look at the refs and if they do, they probably won't mind. I'll leave this to you as it's really not that much of a problem. Pamzeis (talk) 02:30, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

Moana last name
Moana
I am a new user but have been invested in this franchise for 3 years, so I don't want to come off as hard head, but Moana last name has not been used in and promotions or Disney merchandise. Disney Moana screenwriter Jared Bush tweeted her last name in not known as canon. This is the link from Disney Wiki https://twitter.com/thejaredbush/status/830246636521676801 — Preceding unsigned comment added by WPResident77 (talk • contribs) 12:48, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, WPResident77. Welcome to Wikipedia! Firstly, thanks for your contributions! I'm glad you're discussing and not immediately reverting when reverted. OK, I'll give my reasoning for this: unless, I am mistaken, Bush said he was "unsure" what is/was canon. However, Moana's last name was given to Waialiki at the D23 Expo. Other sources, including The New Zealand Herald, Wired, The Daily Beast, The Hollywood Reporter, NBC News, Irish News, Belfast Telegraph... (you probably get the idea), have used Waialiki. I'm open for more discussion at the article talk page (not here) but please followed WP:BRD and do not revert to your revision until we fully resolve this. I hope this clears things up. If not, then, I look forward to discussing this with you. Pamzeis (talk) 06:25, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
WikiCup 2021 September newsletter
The fourth round of the competition has finished with over 500 points being required to qualify for the final round. It was a hotly competitive round with two contestants, The Rambling Man and Epicgenius, each scoring over 3000 points, and six contestants scoring over 1000. All but one of the finalists achieved one or more FAs during the round, the exception being Bloom6132 who demonstrated that 61 "in the news" items produces an impressive number of points. Other contestants who made it to the final are Gog the Mild, Lee Vilenski, BennyOnTheLoose, Amakuru and Hog Farm. However, all their points are now swept away and everyone starts afresh in the final round.
Round 4 saw the achievement of 18 featured articles and 157 good articles. Bilorv scored for a 25-article good topic on Black Mirror but narrowly missed out on qualifying for the final round. There was enthusiasm for FARs, with 89 being performed, and there were 63 GARs and around 100 DYKs during the round. As we start round 5, we say goodbye to the eight competitors who didn't quite make it to the final round; thank you for the useful contributions you have made to the Cup and Wikipedia, and we hope you will join us again next year. For other contestants, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 4 but before the start of round 5 can be claimed in round 5. Remember too that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them.

Copyedit
Can you please clarify why you tagged Raya and the Last Dragon#Critical Response? Wingwatchers (talk) 01:41, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, Wingwatchers It's already explained in the tag: "WP:VOICE concerns [e.g.
it expressed a mixed kind of characterizations reactions that felt both classic and new at the same time
,vibrantly detailed animation
, etc.] and grammatical and punctuational mistakes [e.g.The Atlantic praise strongly
,how women was portrayed
, etc.]" If you disagree, I'd be welcome to discuss it at the talk page (please ping me in the process as the page is not on my Watchlist). Thanks. Pamzeis (talk) 01:49, 3 October 2021 (UTC)- Hmmm, I am fixing this. Wingwatchers (talk) 01:52, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hopefully fixed. What do you think? Wingwatchers (talk) 02:01, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- I'm still seeing VOICE issues and grammatical and punctuational mistakes, including many comma splices. I'd copyedit it myself but I'm a bit busy at the moment. I don't really want to slap the tag back on the article as that could be seen as edit warring. If I get the time, I'll do a copyedit sometime in the future. Thanks. REPORT: HELLO PAMZEIS IM SORRY TO INTERRUPT WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING BUT I DID USE A RELIABLE SOURCE ON MY EDIT OF MY LITTLE PONY: A NEW GENERATION NOW CAN YOU PLEASE FIX YOUR MISTAKE ON MY EDIT THANK YOU — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.45.172.127 (talk) 16:52, 5 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hi. Thank you for your message. I did not see a source cited when you added that there will be four specials, nor that Atomic Cartoons will produce them, nor that there will be 23 episodes. If you can link a reliable source here, I will gladly re-add it. Thank you. Pamzeis (talk) 01:11, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
Why did you revert my edit
It does add something about MLP: FIM. Look at the source provided. FlutterDash344 (talk) 00:46, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, FlutterDash344. Reviewing your edit, you added this:
She had years of experience crafting adventure stories for magical ponies and attributed her own toys' adventures for the foundation of her creativity and storytelling abilities.
OK, let's review this: it says Faust has lots of experience creating adventure stories for ponies because she had adventures with her own toys and that was why she was so creative and good at storytelling. Firstly, this is vague. How did the adventures with her toys influence her adventures on the show? etc. and the source does not seem to elaborate further. Secondly, the article already talks about her toys' influence on the show:Elements of the characters' personalities and the show's settings were based on her childhood imagination of the ponies' adventures
. Thirdly, your edit was copied almost directly from the source:
Your edit:
The source:She had years of experience crafting adventure stories for magical ponies and attributed her own toys' adventures for the foundation of her creativity and storytelling abilities.
I hope you understand my reasoning. If not, then, I look forward to discussing this with you further. Pamzeis (talk) 01:05, 7 November 2021 (UTC)Lauren Faust, creator of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" had years of experience crafting adventure stories for magical ponies: She even attributed her own toys' adventures for being the foundation of her creativity and storytelling abilities.
