Recent edits on Manila

[edit]

Hi there!, i just want to let you know that the reason that i reverted your recent edit on Manila is that you made the Arts and Culture section messy and not organized well, so that's why i changed it back to its original form. I also want to let you know, that i will be reverting some of your edits on Manila, but don't worry, i can assure you that some of your edits will remain. Thanks for Understanding! --Miguel raul (talk) 3:57, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Polytechnic University of the Philippines College of Science

[edit]

Please do not recreate the Polytechnic University of the Philippines College of Science article. As per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Polytechnic University of the Philippines College of Science, it was decided to redirect it to the main PUP page. If you wish to contest this, you can file a request for deletion review. Xeltran (talk) 16:36, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File:Massive school building.jpg missing description details

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 00:50, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Philip Elmer-DeWitt

[edit]

Hello PH 0447, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Philip Elmer-DeWitt, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. ϢereSpielChequers 13:00, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:PUP Graduate School.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. J Milburn (talk) 14:29, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Manila area

[edit]

You reverted the area of Manila from 24.98 back to 38.55 km2. How do you know? Where's your reference? I too have noted that NSCB data has been inaccurate in other places but on the other hand, I could not find any reliable reference for 38.55 km2! Could it be that 38.55 is the total area including water (i.e. Manila Bay) and 24.98 land only??? This really needs a inline reference to a reliable source. -- P 1 9 9   14:55, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello PH 0447!

Thanks for removing the redundancy of some photos and concising the article. However, some of the encyclopedic content were removed, including the "Schools, colleges, and institute" and "Logo and symbols". Please know that some articles are merged into the article (for example, College of Education, College of Business Administration, PUP Hymn, etc.) which resulted into their own subsections. I retained some of the encyclopedic content in a concise manner and also kept some of the changes you made.

This is to inform you. Thank you again. :D

Your edits to Manila and Metro Manila

[edit]

Hi. Kindly review all your edits to the articles related to Manila and Metro Manila. I have reverted your labels on the city districts, calling them either neighborhoods or places. As per Republic Act No. 409 otherwise known as the Manila City Charter, Binondo, Ermita, Quiapo, Tondo, etc are "districts" so you are wrong in saying that they are incorrectly referred to as such. I will be checking out some more of your recent edits to make sure there aren't anymore "made up" stuff you added. Please make it a habit to check online first and add references before inserting any more of these guesses of yours. Thanks!--RioHondo (talk) 14:48, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:09, 17 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Justice League images

[edit]

I've removed your Steppenwolf images from the article. In order for any non-free image to be used in the article, there must be critical commentary on the image per WP:NONFREE and WP:FUC. That means that plots will never have an image, because there isn't critical commentary in that section. As for other areas, in order to show "original" or "final" designs of something you'd have to have information in the article that is discussing the design, how it was changed, why it was changed, etc. We cannot put non-free images in articles without that, because the law doesn't allow us to.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 14:36, 18 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Museo de Intramuros 3 July 2017.JPG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Museo de Intramuros 3 July 2017.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. A page you started (DC Superheroes Cafe) has been reviewed!

[edit]

Thanks for creating DC Superheroes Cafe.

I have just reviewed the page, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Based on some internet searches of the subject, it looks like DC Superheroes Cafe is a chain which includes restaurants in Malaysia, London, and possibly other places too, whereas the article is only written as if there is one such restaurant.

To reply, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Rosguill}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ .

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Metro Manila into Manila. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:55, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2019 US Banknote Contest

[edit]
US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Manila Solar City requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.astrapace.com/4m6qz/manila-goldcoast-reclamation-project and https://businessmirror.com.ph/2021/03/03/reclaiming-manila-bay-reigniting-the-economy/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi PH 0447. Thank you for your work on Taguig–Pateros District Hospital. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

A clear, concise article for this (almost) 30-year-old hospital. A helpful framework from which it can expand!

Opus Mall moved to draftspace

File permission problem with File:Taguig City Outlined Territories.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Taguig City Outlined Territories.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 03:53, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
