You're mentioned
Hi! You are mentioned in a post that will run on the Wikimedia Foundation blog this week describing some of the editors who signed up for HighBeam accounts and their motivations for doing so. I just wanted to let you know. If you'd rather not be mentioned, please respond below or on my talk page. Cheers, Ocaasi t | c 18:41, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
Hi, Lemonade51, I've completed the copy-edit you requested to the above article; I've marked one sub-section as unreferenced. I hope it's okay. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 04:16, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

67 European Cup GA nom
No worries Lemonade. Thanks for doing the review. If it helps I find a good way to spellcheck an article is to copy into a word document and then use it's spellchecker. Anyway thanks agai and I'm pleased that the article is good enough for GA. Adam4267 (talk) 17:03, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
Your HighBeam account is ready!
Good news! You now have access to 80 million articles in 6500 publications through HighBeam Research. Here's what you need to know:
- Your account activation code has been emailed to your Wikipedia email address.
- Only 407 of 444 codes were successfully delivered; most failed because email was simply not set up (You can set it in Special:Preferences).
- If you did not receive a code but were on the approved list, add your name to this section and we'll try again.
- The 1-year, free period begins when you enter the code.
- To activate your account: 1) Go to http://www.highbeam.com/prof1; 2) You’ll see the first page of a two-page registration. 3) Put in an email address and set up a password. (Use a different email address if you signed up for a free trial previously); 4) Click “Continue” to reach the second page of registration; 5) Input your basic information; 6) Input the activation code; 7) Click “Finish”. Note that the activation codes are one-time use only and are case-sensitive.
- If you need assistance, email "help at highbeam dot com", and include "HighBeam/Wikipedia" in the subject line. Or go to WP:HighBeam/Support, or ask User:Ocaasi. Please, per HighBeam's request, do not call the toll-free number for assistance with registration.
- A quick reminder about using the account: 1) try it out; 2) provide original citation information, in addition to linking to a HighBeam article; 3) avoid bare links to non-free HighBeam pages; 4) note "(subscription required)" in the citation, where appropriate
- HighBeam would love to hear feedback at WP:HighBeam/Experiences
- Show off your HighBeam access by placing {{User:Ocaasi/highbeam_userbox}} on your userpage
- When the 1-year period is up, check applications page to see if renewal is possible. We hope it will be.
Thanks for helping make Wikipedia better. Enjoy your research! Cheers, Ocaasi t | c 20:49, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Heh. Well I think we should contact them and explain what we were using it for, just to see if they have any response. There's nothing in itself wrong with using paywall sources, is there? So if we can get in, then we could probably still use it, and I don't mind paying because this is basically IMDb Pro only it passes as a reliable source. Although, as you say, there doesn't appear to by any way to actually subscribe yet. If not, we'll have to, somehow, find other sources. Gran2 11:26, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, I've found them the most likely contact form and sent a message. Seriously, what kind of product doesn't let you actually buy it? Gran2 21:34, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
- Looks good, should be able to replace most of them with that, although each will need to be checked to ensure the source covers them carefully. Gran2 14:44, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, so they responded and gave me a two-week free trial. Ha. Gran2 09:31, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- Well I don't think we need to replace them all. Yahoo is perfectly reliable and will always be there. But I'll probably change a few where Yahoo isn't totally accurate as it does have specific URLs. Gran2 14:53, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Maybe not ready, but it's going to need an FLC to fix any issues because the PR was useless! I see the Friends list failed, so can we do a joint nom? You have a better grasp of list formatting than I do, and I'm a bit pressed for time at the moment. Gran2 11:35, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

- Is ALT 2 correct? --George Ho (talk) 21:58, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- ALT2 is incorrect because it mentions Lisa Kudrow's childbirth. ALT5 is incorrect -- was a 'hospital set', the audience were surprised that the coffee house/apartments weren't used. Lisa Kudrow won an Emmy for this episode I think but don't quote me on this, I haven't had time to check. As it stands ALT 3 and ALT 4 would be good noms. -- Lemonade51 (talk) 22:08, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

Inappropriate edit summaries.
Reverting changes to List of Friends episodes as vandalism, something you've done twice now,[1][2] when the changes clearly are not vandalism, is highly inappropriate. As I indicated at the FLC discussion, this needs to be discussed on the article's talk page, not at the FLC discussion, where I'm about to post more on this issue. You are invited to a discussion on this at Talk:List of Friends episodes#Disputed changes, which is discussing recent changes that involve replacement of transclusion with custom tables. Thank you. --AussieLegend (talk) 01:54, 4 May 2012 (UTC)--AussieLegend (talk) 00:29, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hey Lemonade51, thanks for all your efforts in trying to create a featured list, but I'm guessing we're fighting a losing battle with the TV project. I guess it precludes the TV project from getting FLs in the future which is a shame and I'll need to start auditing the existing FLs because of the various discussions. Hope you're well and not too discouraged, maybe time to find a new subject for FLC?! The Rambling Man (talk) 17:48, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
- No worries! I'll have a look in due course. Naturally I fail to see why you're not simply transcluding the content of all of the bios to that list.... (!) but I'll see what I can do! Hi Lemonade51. You previously peer reviewed Grey's Anatomy back in January, and your comments really were a great help, as I developed the article. I have completely rewritten the article, taking all advice given by you. That being said, I plan to nominate for FA soon, but would like to get one more peer review. I was looking for a user who's dealt with FAC before, and I did some Wikistalking in your contributions and noticed you've dealt with it, so I would really appreciate your comments on the article before I nominate. I've listed other information regarding the requests of the peer review at Wikipedia:Peer review/Grey's Anatomy/archive2 and would be thrilled if you had the time to pick up the peer review again, due to the great help you were last time. Hope to hear back from you, TRLIJC19 (talk) 16:12, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Yeah I'd give it a go. Wouldn't call the away innacurate though, it looks pretty good with the limitations of the basic Wiki templates. My regarding the nomination of BoT
I apologize for the nomination of the article nomination of the Battle of Toro. I've nominated articles I've done little or no editing to for GA status and they all went through, but I obviously wasn't in the right mindset when doing that (probably sleepy, but there's no excuse for it). I started to second guess myself once I nominated it. I think I'll hold of on nominations for a while, at least with subjects concerning those I not especially well-known in. Once again, sorry. - OK, I had another look through and it looks mostly alright to me. The FAC reviewers will check prose better than I can, so I'll leave that to them. The only thing I think you'll get pulled up for is the shortness of the Grampus Eight section, just because it's considerably less detailed than the other parts but it shouldn't be too big a problem. Thanks for your FAC comments for Awake (TV series)! I think I got all of the issues. Thanks again! TBrandley 18:00, 1 August 2012 (UTC) |
Re: Guest stars
Yeah it has gone a bit quiet hasn't it? But that seems to be the nature of FLC at the moment. We've kind of had an unwritten rule at the project that we don't support Simpsons project articles in their nominations, to avoid the impression of bias. But it may be worth it in case anybody has any comments. Gran2 18:30, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

2012-13 Arsenal FC season
Hey mate. I noticed that you wanted the 2012-13 Arsenal F.C. season article to look like the 2002-03 season and how I said almost a month ago that I would modify the current page but have not yet. Well now I have time to do so but the problem is that such a major construction effort would 1: take a long time and 2: make the article look worse than what it is. So in order to get around this I decided to redo the entire page here... User:Arsenalkid700/2012-13 Arsenal F.C. season. Around 2-3 days after the transfer window ends I plan to implement the new page which I want to base on the 2002-03 season because when I looked at it I was amazed. I loved the attention to detail and that is what is missing in the current page. There is a reason why the 2002-03 page is a GA and that the current one has so many problems. One of them is the amount of tables. Anyway if you want, you can add to the User:Arsenalkid700/2012-13 Arsenal F.C. season page if you want. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 13:15, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
2012–13 Arsenal F.C. season again
Hello, and sorry to bother you. I wonder if you'd be willing to express an opinion in the talk page thread Talk:2012–13 Arsenal F.C. season#Article structure on the specific question of reliably sourcing this season's transfer fees and reporting net transfer spend. That thread, and the post immediately above it, stemmed from my intervention in a revert-war (rather wish I hadn't) and it'd be good if we could try and reach a consensus so that normal editing can resume ASAP. Thanks for your time, Struway2 (talk) 14:03, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
Since all of your comments have been addressed, could you possibly leave more comments or support its FL promotion. Thanks, TBrandley 00:41, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

The X-Files Main Page
Hey there! I know that you did the GA review of The X-Files over the summer. Is there any chance you can take a quick scan now and see if I fixed all the issues you found. Recently, I devoted that last week or so to completely overhauling it to get it up to snuff. By no means am I asking you to re-review it, I just thought if you wanted to check, that would be super-helpful. Thanks!--Gen. Quon (Talk) 22:01, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
Wenger
If it is of any help, I'd be happy to have another look before you re-nominate; I can do a few more spot-checks and copy-edit anything which jumps out. As I said at the FAC, I still think it is an impressive piece of work, and just needs some tightening and polishing. Sarastro1 (talk) 20:47, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
- I would also be happy to help you with a re-nomination attempt. The article is closer to meeting FA standards than you may think. What it really needs is for you to go through all of the sources and make sure there's no more close paraphrasing of the kind found at FAC, and that the material in the article is covered in the sources. If you can do that, I'm sure Sarastro and I can get the prose up to the required standard. As a first step, I took the liberty of re-titling the section headings that became an issue at FAC. I hope you don't mind, and I hope you don't give up on wanting to see the article pass at FAC. Giants2008 (Talk) 01:35, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre
Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. This message is directed to users who have reviewed over 15 Good article nominations and are not part of WikiProject Good articles (the first message I sent out went to only WikiProject members).
So for those who haven't heard about the Recruitment Centre yet, you may be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around it (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along. A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk) This message was sent out by --EdwardsBot (talk) 14:43, 9 June 2013 (UTC) |

Thanks for nominating the Arsenal history article. Your nomination was fine and I only had to make a few tweaks to the blurb to get it within the 1,200 character limit (thanks for that too!). I scheduled it for Wikipedia:Today's featured article/September 7, 2013 - a day later than you asked, but Pink Floyd's Roger Waters had been nominated previously for 6th September so I thought I'd give him the nod for the actual day. It means the Arsenal article will appear on the Saturday instead - shame there isn't a home game that day! Best wishes, BencherliteTalk 23:06, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

Vandalism
Now you're just changing actually important edits for no reason. The article for Inter Milan is just that, Inter Milan, not F.C. Internazionale Milano. Also, in the rounds for the group stage, why have every single one linking to #Group B over and over again? Link them to the actual matches............ Stop already. You've no respect, at all.
