Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. GA/FA content

[edit]

Hi Koavf, I've never been fully sure what bringing an article to GA or FA status entails. How does one go about doing this? Thanks, Rubbish computer (Merry Christmas!: ...And a Happy New Year!) 17:59, 26 December 2015 (UTC) Rubbish computer (Merry Christmas!: ...And a Happy New Year!) 17:59, 26 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Rubbish computer: There is a pretty big gulf between GA and FA status. Do you have an article in mind? Basically, you can get GA if someone says yes and you can get FA only if no one says no--that process is laborious. I'd be happy to show you around: I have several GA and FA pieces of content here. —Justin (koavf)TCM 02:39, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I was thinking of turkey (bird), in the spirit of Christmas and all, as another editor suggested it to be improved here. --Rubbish computer (Merry Christmas!: ...And a Happy New Year!) 02:55, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm off now; you can tell me more about it tomorrow. Thanks! --Rubbish computer (Merry Christmas!: ...And a Happy New Year!) 03:02, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Rubbish computer: The first step is simply to make the article as good as you know how based on WP:MOS, relevant WikiProject guidelines, proper English, and common sense. The easiest way to do that is to compare it with an article on a similar topic and see in general what kinds of sources it uses, what sections it includes, etc. For an article on a bird, you will need to discuss its habitat, diet, migratory patterns (if any), variations, and maybe significance to humans in rituals, culture, etc. Posting something as a GA nomination is a pretty low-stress process but it's worthwhile to polish up the article beforehand. Do you want my help? —Justin (koavf)TCM 03:25, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that would be great, thanks. --Rubbish computer (Merry Christmas!: ...And a Happy New Year!) 07:46, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring at Hammurabi

[edit]

WP:BRD

You're supposed to know this. As the Greatest Living Wikipedian(tm) you still do not have an automatic priority over others. For a clearly contested edit like this, you (and yes, you too, the Almighty and Infallible Koavf) are still required to discuss this blanking with other editors. Andy Dingley (talk) 09:31, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Andy Dingley: Why are you being rude to me? WP:OR applies to everything in the encyclopedia: is there any source saying that certain of these laws is significant? —Justin (koavf)TCM 14:47, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Quotes aren't OR. There is one contentious word in that section title, "significant" that could be said to be an uncited opinion (which is still short of OR). Yet you blanked the whole section, then you edit-warred to enforce your blanking.
I have had thankfully little to do with your editing. Yet what I have seen of it is characterised by this: because you are the greatest editor, you act as if yoou are implicitly correct and all the little people are inconsequential. We are not. You are required to discuss a reverted edit before repeating it, even you.
I know little of Hammurabi. I have a vague layman's interest, but it's not my field. I understand that this Code is considered significant (i.e. it's not novel OR to say so, merely unsourced), I'm happy to see that as a title. You are not, that's OK. Really it should be sourced and we have a legitimate disagreement of opinion as to whether it must be sourced or else deleted, and that's OK too. What's not OK is for you to blank the whole section as a consequence. Maybe try discussing this around the article talk: and getting opinions from the subject experts who can explain why they're significant, or who has RS-described them as significant. Seagull management though to blank a section and walk away is just unconstructive, especially when you're asserting your right to edit--war it over others. You have no such privilege. This is a GA where the header has stood for some time, so it has had some level of scrutiny by others. It's not an article that you have had a deep involvement in. Hit and run section blanking is hardly ever a positive contribution to the encyclopedia, even when you do it. Andy Dingley (talk) 11:45, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Andy Dingley: Okay. We also have a difference of opinion as to what constitutes an appropriate way to talk to a stranger. I'm happy to collaborate with others but not interested in someone being rude to me while I'm trying to make an encyclopedia. Thanks for your time. —Justin (koavf)TCM 14:54, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Koavf. My preference is to use refill rather than the barelinks tag - it's improved in adding the "author=" field for some sites recently. -- Callinus (talk) 05:44, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Callinus: I was in the middle of responding when you changed your comment. I am torn on the refs tool precisely for this reason: it is fairly easy to extract a URI and a title from HTML but not so easy to get the author, time, publisher, etc. (because most web authors don't use metadata, which is really sad). There are definitely improvements in having a bare minimum of information over a bare URI but it's even better to fill in more info, which requires human discretion. I'll have to reconsider using the tool. Thanks. —Justin (koavf)TCM 05:50, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

American film lists

[edit]

Hi, I believe you work a lot using AWB. I was wondering if you could continue where I left off on here for 1944 and plough through the lists by year? Ser Amantio did start doing some of the ones in 50s to 70s period I think but he's currently not responding. Basically that needs adding by year to each of the entries from early 1900s to present to improve browsing and connect to the lists. The same process needs to be done really for the other countries like List of British films of 1944 etc.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:27, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of The Forestry

[edit]

The article The Forestry has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references, no claim of notability, fails WP:NSONG and WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Update on your interview

[edit]

Hi Justin,

Hope you are fine.

Sometime back, I interviewed you on your Wikivoyage talk page.

The interview was unfortunately piled under many ongoinging reportings of current events.

However, I now would like to see an updated WMF post which focuses more on your Wikipedia contributions.

I therefore request you to please respond to the following queries:

  1. How do you describe the massive number of English Wikipedia contributions you've done so far (type/ content, etc) ?
  2. You've said that you've contributed to all of the Wikipedias. Can you elaborate on the 28,000 or so non-English contributions you’ve made?
  3. Are there other aspects of your English Wikipedia contributions as well as your association with Wikimedia projects which you would like to share?--Muzammil (talk) 04:42, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Hindustanilanguage: Sorry that I am getting here so late but here you go:
  1. Many of my edits are small formatting and editorial changes which provide consistency or which link information on the encyclopedia to other information.
  2. I have some understanding of Spanish and so I will go to that Wikipedia sometimes to make edits. Similarly, I occasionally remember that the Simple English Wikipedia exists and try to help out there. With other Wikipedias, I will add images or (e.g.) replace PNG maps with SVG ones. Sometimes, I will notice formatting errors which are language-independent and should be fixed.
  3. I really want to have high-quality content across all of the WMF projects. It's a goal that I'm working toward daily. —Justin (koavf)TCM 03:06, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Saw you added your AIV-report to the top of the list, where it might get overlooked for a while, instead of at the bottom. Didn't want to move it in case there was a reason or purpose behind that (and because it could be seen as rude-ish), but figured I might as well ask/give you a heads-up. This american life list of episodes

[edit]

Hi, I see you created the page. Do you know anyone who can answer the following question: How can I get a list of episodes that were reran since 2012? I started listening somewhere between 2012 and 2014, never missed any since then. Now I am trying to get all 1997-2012 episodes, but need to skip the old episodes that have been rerun in recent years.

Appreciate anyone's help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.153.71.99 (talk) 22:15, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Heavy metal album subgenres by artist nationality?

[edit]

What do you think about breaking down Category:Alternative metal albums, Category:Black metal albums, Category:Death metal albums, and Category:Thrash metal albums to a "by artist nationality" level similar to Category:Progressive metal albums by artist nationality. They each have close to or over 200 subcategories which might suggest a good time to expand the scheme. Not sure if there's a certain number that you look for before creating another level, so I thought I'd run it past you. Thanks. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 21:36, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars: Around 300 is when I think about it: before that, they all display on one page anyway--scrolling through 200 is not that cumbersome, really. Also, bear in mind that subcategories would count too so e.g. Category:Nu metal albums would be a subcat of Category:Alternative metal albums so you could take out some Category:Heavy metal albums by American artists and replace them with some Category:Alternative metal albums by American artists. Does that make sense? The only one that really merits it in my estimation is Category:Death metal albums, which I am breaking up now. Thoughts? —Justin (koavf)TCM 05:18, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No objection at all. You do a masterful job in keeping these type of things well organized, so I wanted to bring this to your attention as the number of albums within the various heavy metal subgenres can add up. Cheers. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 20:19, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The day will come when you shall SEE the wrongs of your ways. Why do you hate WESTERN CULTURE? Why do you support TERRORISM?

[edit]

You think you're so cool. You think you're all that. You think you know everything. You think you're the knowledge expert.

But, you see, you're being manipulated. Being manipulated by a terrorist organization, the infamous Weekly Shōnen Jump hate group. And, if you continue to allow it, the group's aim of destroying Western culture and starting a massive civil war will succeed.

We must let the world know. We must let the people know of the unimaginable horrors being committed by this fradulent organization. Throughout years of research, I can uncovered a vast, VAST conspiracy to make Western children violent by carrying themes of extreme violence, torture and sexuality in Weekly Shōnen Jump. The hole goes far deeper than you think. For, you see, Weekly Shōnen Jump controls everything. What you watch, what you see, what you eat.

The FBI has failed. The CIA has failed. Even the almighty Justin Anthony Knapp has failed. There is now but one way forward: the embrace of feminism and the ruthless elimination of terrorism and Hustler. The path will be long and hard as Weekly Shōnen Jump aims to destroy us. But we shall succeed, for they are nothing more than cowards running on hatred and fear. We can win this. But I'll need you're help. Will you join me?

Just remember: The entire Western world is at stake here. THINK CAREFULLY! Garuk Gar (talk) 07:33, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Justin Knapp,

I am Adam Durand, a high school student from Sweden. For our English class we must to submit a research paper on a major English website and how it works and I chose Wikipedia. This includes an online interview with one of the users of that site. Since you are the most active Wikipedian I wonder if I can ask you 6 very quick questions. Probably only takes 1-2 minutes to answer one into 1 to 2 sentences. If you decline that is okay I will find someone else.

Hopefully my English is good enough for you to understand lol.

Christmas albums by genre

[edit]

What do you think of the attempt by another editor to create a "Christmas albums by genre" scheme (see Category:Pop Christmas albums and others under the parent Category:Christmas albums)? I thought I'd ask you before taking it to AfD. Seems like an unnecessary intersection to me. Thanks. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 23:38, 3 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars: Wildly unnecessary. There is no need for infinite subdivision of the intersection of albums, genre, and sub-genre. —Justin (koavf)TCM 07:34, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This category scheme went through a CfD and the consensus was to keep. This one (https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/compact_discs/r_e_m_/new_adventures_in_hi-fi/index.html) was written as a serious article on Ultimate Guitar, but by an aliased user. Is it therefore unqualified as a source in this instance?

Btw, I am not a genre warrior, my main focus on Wikipedia is on climate normals for cities around the world, it is just that I want to specify my favourite artists genres a bit better.

@PEarley (WMF): PeterR does not know what the fuck he is doing, and nobody is watching him. For example, he has added a species to a species overview which belongs in a different genus! It is all extremely misleading. The species isn't "invalid", it is a valid species in another genus. If we put all defunct combinations into species lists under their old genera, then the result will be utter chaos! You have a responsibility as a WS sysop to prevent garbage like this from happening. Andyboorman is twisting the facts against me. MPF moved the type species of Lycopsis to Anchusa, without changing Anchusa, leaving one species listed as valid under two different genera! Page mover granted

[edit]

Hello, Koavf. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, and move subpages when moving the parent page(s).

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

Hi Justin, I saw your RFRPM request. I recently did a pass through the editnotice pseudo-space with Special:PrefixIndex/Template:Editnotices/Page/. Ping me if indeed you did find other pages that needed to be moved (think it was a decent pass though). FYI, there are a lot of R.E.M. editnotices on redirect pages that there's little to do to mitigate (deletion is not clearly an option). For context, there are legitimate editnotices on redirects (such as Template:Editnotices/Page/Giants). There are 2 MfDs here and here on editnotices to non-existent targets. Anyway, congrats on page mover, obviously was a no-brainer decision :) — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 17:52, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stalker

[edit]

Are we sure we want to add this? Note that it was already added and reverted. I would personally want to leave it out until there is better confirmation whether this is real or a hoax of some sort. My instinct is that this is just a prank by Sufjan or someone close to him. I am honestly surprised all these websites are posting articles relating the details of the reddit post as if they're fact. Bah humbug ... state of journalism, etc. etc. :) Jujutacular (talk) 20:43, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Jujutacular: Well, first off, we can really only go with what reliable sources say. They seem to indicate that this thing exists. Furthermore, it's consistent with other sources where Stevens mentions having written songs about stalkers, etc. This is hardly implausible. In fact, I don't really see why anyone thinks that it's a hoax... —Justin (koavf)TCM 02:59, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not implausible, I just found it more likely that it's a recently recorded prank. Seems like his style (e.g. "I think it's hilarious. I'm sometimes a compulsive liar"). At any rate I'll probably leave it at this, just my two cents. Jujutacular (talk) 17:12, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Jujutacular: If anything, it being a hoax is a better reason to leave a note at least and say what the most reputable sources say. Otherwise, someone will come looking for info or make the page, etc. On q:, we have a policy to include misattributed quotations for exactly this reason. —Justin (koavf)TCM 03:44, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of 🏣

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 🏣, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Non-free rationale for File:Last Chance U.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Last Chance U.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 17:51, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Bad Dude in Love.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Bad Dude in Love.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:05, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Year-range format

Regarding this edit of yours, what specific MOS item are you referring to in your edit-summary "I agree with this change but the Manual of Style does not"? DMacks (talk) 05:30, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Moving The Greatest (Sia song)

[edit]

Sia's main namespace Sia Furler is only titled as such to disambiguate her from other Sias. Her song articles, and discography, are disambiguated by her mononym "Sia" alone. She is known as the mononym professionally, in her own singing career, and disambiguating the song with "Sia Furler" is at odds with her other song articles. Ss112 05:55, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Ss112: If there is another Sia (singer), then all of this should be "Sia Furler x". If there isn't, then all of it should be named "Sia (singer) x". —Justin (koavf)TCM 07:02, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It's not really up to me; consensus would need to be reached, as Sia (musician) and other terms have been disputed multiple times and reverted to Sia Furler. Personally I would be against disambiguating her songs with "Sia Furler song" because she is far more widely known as her mononym professionally. As far as I know, there isn't another notable Sia. I think consensus would need to be reached to disambiguate her songs further, as I'm afraid it would ignite a move war, as others feel more strongly about the naming conventions of her articles than me. Perhaps her main article should be under Sia (musician) or similar title for consistency, but it's the way it is at the moment due to several past discussions. Memorial

[edit]

Hi, thank you for suggesting a remembrance of Ray. I have not had any volunteers; I knew him a little, we shared a hotel room for Wikimania once, but were both quite busy and didn't talk as much as I'd have liked. I've begun pulling together some notes here. Could you take a look, and add/comment if you have any thoughts? I trust you knew him better than I did; you're welcome to dig in as much as you'd like, and if you'd like to be the primary or even sole author, I'm open to that.

We are behind on putting out this issue. I'd like to pull it together in the next 24 hours, but I'm not sure if that's realistic. The sooner you could look, the better -- but any help is welcome. Thanks for the suggestion in any case. -Pete (talk) 03:00, 22 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Peteforsyth: I did not know him, actually but I am a little active on wikilivres:, where I interacted with him and he knew others. I will post there to see if anyone can turn around some thoughts on him. —Justin (koavf)TCM 03:03, 22 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I thought I had an account there, but apparently not; and I can't create one, so I'll ask you here. Can you comment on the future of the site, which I believe Ray owned and operated? Or do you know anybody else who could comment? Perhaps Yann knows something? -Pete (talk) 18:57, 22 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Peteforsyth: The site will continue. Yann has been discussing with his loved ones and we plan on updating mw: when we get access. I don't know who will own it--possibly Yann or some group from m:Wikimedia Canada. I have offered as well but am an American citizen. I put a small note in memoriam on wikilivres:Main Page. —Justin (koavf)TCM 20:21, 22 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Category tree

[edit]

Greetings! The categorization on Eritrea appears to be quite convoluted. Category:Horn African countries is juxtaposed by Category:East African countries, although the former is subcategorized under the latter. Category:Eritrea is likewise a subcategory of the HOA one. Per WP:SUBCAT, it seems therefore that Eritrea is the correct category since it is the most specific/downstream. Could you please fix this? Kind Regards-- Soupforone (talk) 03:23, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Soupforone: Agreed. But as you will see in Category:Countries in Africa by region, there are several overlapping schemes which could leave one country in two regions. E.g. Western Sahara is in the Maghreb, which is consequently in Northern Africa, which is a part of the larger Middle East. All of those categories are also inside of this parent category, so someone navigating directly from Category:Countries in Africa by region should be able to find Eritrea in all relevant subcategories (without having to navigate down another level). Generally, we should not have an article or category in both a category and its own subcategory but this seems like a reasonable exception to me. Now someone else may argue that this scheme shouldn't exist at all and that's a legitimate discussion to have but I'm fine with the way it's implemented now. —Justin (koavf)TCM 05:34, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the quick reply. Territories indeed can and often do straddle several different regions, as they have both latitudes and longitudes. Thus, Zambia is in Southeast Africa or in both Southern Africa and Eastern Africa since it is located in the continent's southern and eastern hemispheres. However, I'm not sure that is the situation here because the categories above are in a parent-child format rather discrete parallel categories. WP:SUBCAT indicates that "apart from certain exceptions (i.e. non-diffusing subcategories, see below), an article should be categorised as low down in the category hierarchy as possible, without duplication in parent categories above it." The categories in question are not non-diffusing. It therefore appears that they should be in the standard parent-child format. Would it be alright, then, if I were to adjust the categorization accordingly? Kind Regards-- Soupforone (talk) 17:31, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Soupforone: I understand your point and I'm of two minds. On the one hand, if someone is at Category:Countries in Africa by region, I don't think he should have to click twice to get to an individual country. On the other hand, we generally shouldn't have an item in both a parent and child category. Whatever you decide to do I won't revert. —Justin (koavf)TCM 21:11, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, that makes sense. Please let me know if you need help with anything. Cheers-- Soupforone (talk) 02:19, 29 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WT -- let's discuss

[edit]

The section had been edited by current WV contributors to emphasize the existence of WV, rather than to present an overview of what WT actually is. WT is not "not Wikivoyage" yet post-fork, that is how the article was presented. The reasons (sour grapes about the fork) are clear. Let's restore at least the Lede to a relevant introduction to the site, and let the history/controversy sections stand on their own. Thank you for reading 98.158.206.121 (talk) 02:00, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@98.158.206.121: The lead is supposed to contain some part of everything in the body. If there is a section on controversies than an overview of those controversies should be in the lead. Why would it not be? Per WP:BRD, I am reverting it back again but I'd be happy to find some middle ground language. —Justin (koavf)TCM 02:19, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
For one, it is inconsistent with other similar pages, as I showed with the IG example; also, such changes were motivated by reasons other than a desire to present an accurate picture of the site; finally, the "history and controversy" parts of the lede comprise the majority of the lede. Other than that, it's fine. I think my edit is far more representative of the article's importance. Again, WT is not "not WV" but it is being presented as such. Essentially, this lede has become an advertisement for its competitor, by its competitor. Not kosher at all. 98.158.206.121 (talk) 02:26, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@98.158.206.121: I'm not even disputing the motivations--that is something I cannot know and would beg the question of your motivations in deleting it. I'm just saying that deleting it outright is incorrect. The fact that Instagram lacks something doesn't mean this should be deleted. I am an admin at Wikitravel, so I don't have a horse in this race. —Justin (koavf)TCM 02:29, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
