Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Teletype Model 33, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page CAI. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to Anonymous (group) does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
- User contributions
- Recent changes
- Watchlists
- Revision differences
- IRC channels
- Related changes
- New pages list and
- Article editing history
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! bojo1498 talk 00:24, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi, I added a Template:Too many photos template to the articleAdd The Words, Idaho. Since you are an active editor on the page, as well as a person involved in the add the words movement, I would like for you to have a chance to review and discuss the merits of removing some photos from the page. I feel there are too many photos and they detract from the article and take away from NPOV. I think that the article's text does a good job of staying NPOV, which is impressive given the topic. I added my rational for removing some photos at Talk:Add The Words, Idaho and would like to have some discussion before making any edits. Thanks! EERob (talk) 03:34, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

- "Many YouTube videos of newscasts, shows or other content of interest to Wikipedia visitors are copyright violations and should not be linked." You added a link to a YouTube newscast. This isn't rocket science. Do what you want. Magnolia677 (talk) 00:01, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of MTFA
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on MTFA requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi Kencf0618,
I'm a student at American University currently enrolled in a class about Wikipedia. I'm working with another student on a project to get input from Wikipedia users about talk pages and their usefulness as they currently stand. We believe they are difficult to use, track of and are not easy to follow. If you could make any improvements to Wikipedia talk pages overall, 1) Would you? 2) Why or why not? and 3) What would those improvements be?
Thanks, Spienciak (talk) 23:49, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for shifting Lemonade details from Beyoncé main article to album article.
Thanks for doing that. I agree that the info I added is more relevant under the album article for Lemonade. I'm a fairly new editor. Learning alot from the revisions process and learning to explore and engage with those who revise texts I edited. Thisi s such a complex but worthy experience. Really causes you to check you biases and hold your assumptions at bay. Reaching out relieves attempts to assume I understand why a revision took place. I was very proud of that edit for various reasons. sheridanford (talk) 04:53, 29 April 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Pokémon Go
On 18 July 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Pokémon Go, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that following the release of Pokémon Go, Nintendo's share price rose by 50%? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Pokémon Go. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Pokémon Go), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

September 2016
Your recent editing history at Visual Arts Collective shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. John from Idegon (talk) 05:32, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Visual Arts Collective. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. John from Idegon (talk) 01:31, 22 September 2016 (UTC)

Request reason:
I have switched from Firefox to Opera as a privacy measure, given the latter's built-in VPN SurfEasy. Granted, it's an open proxy, but that said I'd rather not bounce between two browsers -is there anyway around this? I had a somewhat similar issue some years ago when I was blocked because I was running Tor middle relays, although I wasn't editing using the Tor browswer. Go figure! kencf0618 (talk) 01:12, 18 May 2017 (UTC)
Decline reason:
I think you're looking for IP Block Exemption. Please review the requirements at WP:IPEC, chiefly that you would need to have a demonstrable exceptional need to edit via an anoymous proxy. To apply for this access, you would email the functionaries team. SQLQuery me! 03:42, 18 May 2017 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Insertcleverphrasehere. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Pepe the Frog seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please stop citing sources disingenuously. Saying that a source reported something without also saying that they refuted the same statement just to push a POV is not ok.[1] The same also goes for adding references that are clearly not reliable sources to push the same POV [2] — InsertCleverPhraseHere 09:40, 18 June 2017 (UTC)
The article Julius M. Kleiner has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Boleyn (talk) 07:04, 25 June 2017 (UTC)

I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they affect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take 5 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.
I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.

Separate Makerspace Entry
Hi Ken,
I'm interested in distinguishing the Makerspace entry as being separate from the Hackerspace entry. Not many years ago, these two may have been confused or synonymous with each other. But do to the overwhelming popularity of so many independent organizations taking on the name "Makerspace" with much broader missions than their Hackerspace cousins, I believe that keeping them synonymous with each other is outdated thinking.
If you are interested in contributing to this effort, I'd appreciate your help.
Thanks!

My issue is that we don't want to be alarmist, and since the eclipse is over, we can go with the one source we have. I made an edit to that effect, and please also see the following discussion. Thanks. FriendlyRiverOtter (talk) 17:25, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Greetings. Some of your recent edits do not appear to be civil toward other editors. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to (re-?) familiarize yourself with our policies and guidelines. In particular, it's relevant that WP:CIVIL says, "Editors are expected to be reasonably cooperative, ... to work within the scope of policies, and to be responsive to good-faith questions." You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Naomi Wu
I really enjoyed the article you recently added to Naomi Wu. It reminded me of the line "gender is performative" which scholars may know more about but I only learned about from a Valentine poem:
- Roses are red
- Gender is performative
- Most of society
- Is heteronormative.
Naomi Wu's gender performance has earned her both fans and haters, aside from her obvious tech skills. Funny, that performing female gender (Mae West, Madonna, Lady Gaga, etc. etc.) generates vicious backlash, while performing male gender (John Wayne, Hulk Hogan, Donald Trump) is widely accepted. But enough of my wacky opinions. Glad you're on Wikipedia. HouseOfChange (talk) 22:46, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you -that's a trophy of a compliment! Wu catches a lot of culture-dependent flak, but her persona is very considered. Neo-burlesque hits on some of the same issues, and for some of the same reasons. kencf0618 (talk) 23:40, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Space Race; reverting vandalism
I just reverted some WP:SPAM that a disruptive IP editor kept adding to Space Race. You should have done that before you added your changes. I did not bother restoring your changes afterward, because I believe they are not necessary or constructive, for the following reasons:
- Notice the article is tagged to use American English, not British. "Towards" is British; "toward" is more American usage.
- "Had begun" is not really necessary; this tense is appropriate when talking in the context of something already having occurred in the past; "The US and USSR began discussions on the peaceful uses of space as early as 1958" is perfectly fine, because there is no implied year at the beginning of this section; that they began the discussion then remains an historical fact (the fact it took nine years to reach the signing of a treaty notwithstanding.) This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have recently shown interest in living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Wojak meme
Hi I saw you added a photo of the meme in a meeting and the caption says it is ironic. As the meme is used by right wing groups to mock left wing groups are you suggesting that it was a left wing group that taped these images to chairs before their own meeting? If this is the case its use needs to be sourced because at first view it looks like someone did it as a first degree prank to mock the participants. --Dom from Paris (talk) 11:02, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
- Good point! Absent adequate sourcing I've changed the caption to be as neutral as the meme itself (although "auditorium" would be even more neutral, I suppose). Full disclosure: I was a volunteer at this seminar, but I had nothing to do with this particular aspect. I just walked into the auditorium and lost it! kencf0618 (talk) 11:45, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of YAAS
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on YAAS, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. KylieTastic (talk) 11:55, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
- The tag seems to have been removed without discussion...? kencf0618 (talk) 14:03, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- Not all deletions are discussed, see Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, in this case WP:G11. For these conditions if an administrator agrees they can delete immediately. You then have the option to discuss with the deleting admin if you disagree. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 14:38, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- Ah! Thanks for the explanation. As a founding member of the Boise chapter of the DSA, I find it funny that this is considered an "advertisement," but so be it. kencf0618 (talk) 16:46, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- As I can no longer see the contents I can't really advise on the details, however if you think the subject is notable and has independent reliable sources then you could ask the deleting admin Explicit to refund the article to your user space or the draft space to work on it. As I see you've created many articles you obviously have an understand the basics. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 17:09, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- I've just noticed you also created Young Americans Against Socialism, was YAAS a separate subject, or I'm wondering if it was just a redirect you created and others changed and I failed to notice and thus warned the wrong user? It appears from this another user trying to add content and is now blocked for promotion, so had you just created the original redirect that is now restored. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 17:19, 7 December 2019 (UTC
- This particular article's deletion appears to be a tricky subject, but again, I'm fine if it is deleted. That said, YAAS was a redirect on my part. kencf0618 (talk) 17:24, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
Hi, just to clarify, KylieTastic's later observation is correct. The redirect you originally created was fine, but it was hijacked by Eventstec with promotional content and it was tagged for speedy deletion as a result. I deleted the history to expunge that content, but restored the original redirect. ƏXPLICIT 00:17, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that Unted States gubernatorial responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, a page that you created, has been tagged for deletion. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Speedy deletion nomination of Eponymous Cryptocurrency Units
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Eponymous Cryptocurrency Units requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
- No worries. They are different events. The Spanish Flu wacked an entire branch of my family back in the day. Swine flu made a deep impression on me because my professional career was at the Idaho State Liquor Division for twenty years; part of the ISLD warehouse (technically under the aegis of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare –we called it "The Bump Out" in our usage) served as a FEMA transshipment facility, so we were shipping out body bags and outdated vaccines for the Swine Flu pandemic. kencf0618 (talk) 16:19, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

Please help: Libelous content
I see you are a member of WikiProject for Cryptocurrencies. I thought you might assist in an urgent matter related to one of the largest cryptocurrencies. The section Digital Currency Group#Allegations of lending malfeasance is libelous, poorly sourced and needs to be removed. It is based on a Medium blog by an anonymous non-expert with 100 followers, which by itself is an unacceptable source according to WP:RSSELF. Medium is a platform similar to WordPress or Tumblr - while some editorial sites use it, in this case the blogger is anonymous and states in the article they relied on their own original research, and that the article was written as “speculation” based on primary sources they interpreted, thus failing WP:RELIABLE. I have a COI as a paid consultant for DCG and don’t want to violate WP:COI, which is why I am reaching out to related project members? Thanks much.CertifiedTurtle (talk) 16:23, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

Henry's pocket

- I've written the University of Manchester. (Is there a policy about "stealth linking"?) kencf0618 (talk) 13:56, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for replying. In general, links should take a reader where they would expect to be taken. If William Henry described the cutaneous marginal pouch and it is named after him, the article should expressly say this.
- From MOS:LINKCLARITY
- "The article linked to should correspond as closely as possible to the term showing as the link"
- From MOS:LINKCLARITY
- From MOS:LINKSTYLE:
- "... do not force a reader to use that link to understand the sentence." There was no statement in that article that asserted William Henry is the origin of the term; it is necessary to click on the link to learn it. A printed or downloaded version of the article would contain no such statement.
- From MOS:LINKSTYLE:
- Also:
- "Links should not be placed in the boldface reiteration of the title in the opening sentence of a lead." —BillC talk 23:07, 8 March 2023 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you meant by that change to A Man Lies Dreaming. Please read it more carefully, and then fix it. Thanks. DS (talk) 23:35, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

A question about edit summaries
Many of your edit summaries contain "fu", used as a word. What does it mean?JBW (talk) 07:18, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
- À la Kung Fu. kencf0618 (talk) 13:16, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for the answer, though I'm still a little puzzled. 🤔 JBW (talk) 15:12, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
Merge of colloquial names?
This is interesting content, but I think Colloquial names of COVID-19 variants could be easily merged into Variants of SARS-CoV-2#Nomenclature with no loss of info, where it would better serve readers in context. Thoughts? Fences&Windows 15:44, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
- Possibly, but sheer scale of that article against that. Too, "our" article is of interest to folk taxonomy, the public messaging of policy and changes thereof, even journalism —I note that the colloquial names are oft placed in quotation marks in sub-headlines. This phenomenon is going to keep on going as long as variants and vaccines are produced... For all I know the WHO might run out of constellations, of which there are 88! kencf0618 (talk) 14:01, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
- Fair enough. There is scope for expansion, e.g., to discuss the colloquial use of country/region names before the WHO introduced Greek letters. Fences&Windows 21:21, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
