This is the page in question: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenyon_Farrow

I have reviewed the claim and found a flaw in the method, most specifically that the "copyrighted" words belong to a list of the subjects published works and awards. I am of the opinion that this claim was not properly investigated and should never have been lodged. I write so because I did not commit plagiarism, rather I listed the published works and awards in order of their publication/reception. Because you are an experienced editor, I am appealing to you for assistance in resolving this matter.Aquariusveritas (talk) 05:08, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

Whatever your decision, thank you for your time and consideration.

Aquariusveritas (talk) 05:08, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

@Aquariusveritas: - Sorry but this is not my area of expertise. If you think the whole thing is a misunderstanding, there are opportunities to give your side of the story. I suggest following the links in the big notice that has been placed on the article, especially ORTS Agent, where you can see more about the process that they follow during an investigation. Good luck. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 15:10, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for pointing me in the correct direction for resolving this issue. I greatly appreciate your help.

Billy Conway (drummer)

Thanks again for taking a look and offering the constructive suggestion. I have stripped down the Conway page...something the man himself would appreciate. Let me know if you think it still needs further detail to be dispensed or if we can drop that tag now. Rory1262 (talk) 18:36, 28 August 2019 (UTC)

Here they go again

Nicki Minaj, over 300 references. Are you in the mood to do something about it? --Bbarmadillo (talk) 20:04, 9 September 2019 (UTC)

@Bbarmadillo: -- She is certainly more famous than those Belarus rock groups and most of the sources used are solid. Although it's hardly necessary to use ALL of them! It appears from the history that there is not one person monopolizing that article, so there is probably no ulterior motive as we saw previously. The "excessive citations" tag might be appropriate here, just to inform passersby that the article needs to be tightened up a bit. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 15:14, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

New Page Review newsletter September-October 2019

Hello Doomsdayer520,

Backlog

Instead of reaching a magic 300 as it once did last year, the backlog approaching 6,000 is still far too high. An effort is also needed to ensure that older unsuitable older pages at the back of the queue do not get automatically indexed for Google.

Coordinator

A proposal is taking place here to confirm a nominated user as Coordinator of NPR.

This month's refresher course

Why I Hate Speedy Deleters, a 2008 essay by long since retired Ballonman, is still as valid today. Those of us who patrol large numbers of new pages can be forgiven for making the occasional mistake while others can learn from their 'beginner' errors. Worth reading.

Deletion tags

Do bear in mind that articles in the feed showing the trash can icon (you will need to have 'Nominated for deletion' enabled for this in your filters) may have been tagged by inexperienced or non NPR rights holders using Twinkle. They require your further verification.

Paid editing

Please be sure to look for the tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary. WMF policy requires paid editors to connect to their adverts.

Subject-specific notability guidelines' (SNG). Alternatives to deletion
  • Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves once more with notability guidelines for organisations and companies.
  • Blank-and-Redirect is a solution anchored in policy. Please consider this alternative before PRODing or CSD. Note however, that users will often revert or usurp redirects to re-create deleted articles. Do regularly patrol the redirects in the feed.
Not English
  • A common issue: Pages not in English or poor, unattributed machine translations should not reside in main space even if they are stubs. Please ensure you are familiar with WP:NPPNE. Check in Google for the language and content, and if they do have potential, tag as required, then move to draft. Modify the text of the template as appropriate before sending it.
Tools

Regular reviewers will appreciate the most recent enhancements to the New Pages Feed and features in the Curation tool, and there are still more to come. Due to the wealth of information now displayed by ORES, reviewers are strongly encouraged to use the system now rather than Twinkle; it will also correctly populate the logs.

Stub sorting, by SD0001: A new script is available for adding/removing stub tags. See User:SD0001/StubSorter.js, It features a simple HotCat-style dynamic search field. Many of the reviewers who are using it are finding it an improvement upon other available tools.

Assessment: The script at User:Evad37/rater makes the addition of Wikiproject templates extremely easy. New page creators rarely do this. Reviewers are not obliged to make these edits but they only take a few seconds. They can use the Curation message system to let the creator know what they have done.

DannyS712 bot III is now patrolling certain categories of uncontroversial redirects. Curious? Check out its patrol log.

HELP

Hi Doomsdayer. I am an enthusiastic editor. Kindly help review the the page i created Chris Okagbue. Its been left hanging for a while now and that makes me nervous. I promise to keep on improving the page best I can and keep it updated. Thanks. Amaekuma (talk) 08:50, 28 September 2019 (UTC)

@Amaekuma: - I will check it out. Note that a new article does not have to be reviewed in order to survive on Wikipedia, so your article is safe for readers. The review process is designed to detect articles that DON'T deserve to be on Wikipedia, and also there are so many new articles that my team (the New Pages Patrol) often needs a few months to get to them. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 14:33, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
@Doomsdayer520: Thanks. I appreciate your guidance and it encourages me to make more effort to improve Wikipedia. Amaekuma (talk) 14:59, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

Uploading images

Please resize your images to 300×300 pixels before uploading—this is the recommended size. Also, it would also be in your best interest to convert them from JPG to PNG, considering JPG is a compressed image file format and PNG is lossless. In regards to size, 1,200 × 1,200 pixels is needlessly and far too large for claims of fair use on Wikipedia. Your upload of the cover for Amadjar has been resized by a bot and that revision will be deleted, as will anything you upload that is larger than 316×316. Thanks. Ss112 00:42, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

@Ss112: - Since that bot is automatic or semi-automatic and tackles all images that are bigger than desired without controversy, I can barely imagine a less necessary message on what is in my best interests. What's your point? ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 14:01, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
My point is there's very little point in bothering to upload an image if a bot is just going to replace it. I was trying to give you advice on the accepted dimensions for fair use images and preferred format because I didn't think you'd want to waste your time, but if you want to ignore that because you're offended at being given advice like you're too experienced for it or whatever the reason for your snark is, that's on you. Ss112 14:23, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

Doomsdayer520, keep uploading images as you see fit. The bot will resize for you. :) ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:30, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

@Another Believer: are you now stalking me to pitch in where I've sent a user a message? Doomsdayer520 is clearly aware, as are you and I, that a bot will resize oversized images—just like the two ones Doomsdayer uploaded right after I wrote this, as if doing so to prove a point. Thanks for pointless weighing in against me, troll. You and Doomsdayer are just wasting your time, but I guess that much was obvious. Ss112 14:33, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
*eye roll* No, I'm not stalking (I'm here to make Wikipedia better, not bother people), and I have every right to let Doomsdayer520 know they've done nothing wrong. Happy editing, both of you. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:37, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
@Another Believer: If you're not stalking me, then how did you stumble across this? Oh wait—I repointed your redundant N.A.T.I.O.N. redirects and obviously the first thing you did upon seeing that was to click on my edits to stalk me and get back at me like this. Sad! Should've known. Giving someone advice is not saying they've done something wrong, don't twist what I said. Bye. Ss112 14:39, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

@Ss112: and @Another Believer: - It looks like you two have something going on, which shouldn't be here. But on this topic I agree with A.B. The bot would not have any image to "replace" (actually resize) if I hadn't uploaded a larger one first, and otherwise there would continue to be an album article with no cover image. And it is unnecessary for me to resize the image on my end when the bot does it within 24 hours. None of that is a waste of my time and I do not need advice on my time from someone who did not make any effort at enhancing the article with an image. Also I do not care if my name is not attached to the later resized version of the image because the point is to improve Wikipedia. Though note that Ss112 will forever get credit for "creating" the Amadjar article when all you did was make a cheesy redirect the day it was released, while I did the hours of work to give Wikipedia a useful article on the album. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 14:50, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

The bot resizing your image is a replacement with a new revision. I didn't say nor imply that I contributed anything to the article—I just noticed your edits to it. And yes, I created the redirect, just as I'm sure you have created "cheesy" redirects other users have expanded into an article, and Another Believer does all the time too. Don't pretend like you made the article—it already existed because the user Bhaydar-aa made it. By the way, I create plenty of articles, thanks—I don't just make redirects. Honestly, boo hoo—you spent hours expanding an album article (that nobody asked you to, by the way) and you're complaining that you don't have credit for creating it when you didn't even create it to begin with? Cry me a river. Learn to take advice—nobody gives a shit how long you've been here. Also, thanks for a laugh. "Cheesy redirect"—haven't heard that one before. Ss112 15:14, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) All 3 of you are valuable editors. The initial message appears to be in good faith, if arguably unnecessary. Maybe let's all have some bread with our favorite delicious cheesy redirect and go back to editing. :) — Rhododendrites talk \\ 18:23, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

I concur with this last point from Rhodo, but will note that the latest statement from Ss112 is pretty close to WP:UNCIVIL. Curse words are used by those who lack confidence. And since this is my talk page, which is now cluttered with curse words, a gripefest between two other people, and uninvited advice about how to take uninvited advice, I hereby declare this unnecessary argument to be over and will delete all further comments. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 20:29, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

Yorkton Film Festival

Doomsdayer520 I would like to ask if you would consider taking a look at Yorkton Film Festival. The page was missing all its original references (dead links) and was written somewhat like an advertisement or promotional piece. The original references were mostly all relying on the festival's own website. I've researched and found several articles, mostly newspaper articles, and hope that I've been successful improving it since since User:Theroadislong made their comment on the talk page and tagged the article. I've written a few biographical living person articles but am not highly experienced with film festival articles. Some of the original content has been removed or moved around plus some new content has been added. It seems okay to me but would be very helpful to have another opinion. I'm hoping to work toward making the article acceptable. Once once that is achieved then to get the tag removed and maybe make separate pages for the awards. Thanks! Thanks also for taking a look at Walthamstow International Film Festival. :-)LorriBrown (talk) 22:30, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

@LorriBrown: - I think the article looks very good in its current state. The previous concern about "primary sources" was valid but you have done a lot of hard work to improve the article, while having constructive discussions with the folks on the article's talk page. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 14:05, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
Doomsdayer520 Thank you! That is quite helpful. I'll carry on then... :-) LorriBrown (talk) 14:36, 2 October 2019 (UTC)

List of Indian states and union territories by internet users

An article you recently created, List of Indian states and union territories by internet users, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published - Hi, the article has a cited source from the website of the Indian government. It is the most reliable source than a news website. One reliable source is better than 10 unreliable sources. It is not about quantity but quality. Thus no more source is needed for the existing information. So, please publish the article. Thank you. --M.K.Dan (talk) 16:37, 9 October 2019 (UTC)

@M.K.Dan: - You may have a good point about the sources but you actually missed the main point of the message. A more important issue with the article is that you merely began the process with six states/territories out of several dozen. The list is not useful for Wikipedia until it is much closer to full. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 14:11, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

@Shoy: - That is different than the New Pages Patrol Process in which we watch for obvious violations of rules and recommend to the creators that improvements could be made. If you think that article needs to be improved, do it yourself, or add an edit tag to the top, or take it to AfD and see what others think. Un-reviewing my review won't make that happen. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 13:42, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

Mini-LPs

Thank you!!!! I will look into this! It was a lot of work, even just trying to get a parallel navigation (Mini-Lps vs LPs) to snap into place, and I'm still refining it.

It's not really an "unconventional" term in the real world, by the way, just a convention that has more or less gone away. "Mini-LP" is redesignation of what was THE standard long-playing format from 1948 until around 1956, when 12" records replaced them. So we no longer think of these as "LPs", as they hold about half of the running time.

Anyway, thank you again! Sojambi Pinola (talk) 15:44, 17 October 2019 (UTC)

I will do my part to improve the links and citations on the pages as well. I appreciate GREATLY the process you used to inform me about improving the pages. It was significantly more constructive and page-improving than vanishing the pages or threatening me, which is what I've also dealt with, in the middle of about 50 hours of work on trying to untangle the total MESS and both unsourced and *sourced* misinformation that is the Thelonious Monk pages on Wikipedia. Sojambi Pinola (talk) 16:03, 17 October 2019 (UTC)

I will be addressing the linkrot potential shortly (on these and the related Prestige "LP" Monk pages). I have my hands full simply trying to get the citations into the page without being banned by Dan56. These pages have been inaccurate, barely literate, and unsourced for _years_, and I get threatened for trying to fix the darned things and make them more accurate and literate. I get it, but still..... Sojambi Pinola (talk) 23:34, 17 October 2019 (UTC)

@Sojambi Pinola: - Note that there is a team of people who get notified when someone like me puts the "link rot" tag on an article, and they tend to get to it pretty quickly. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 13:00, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

Yes. When I went to fix the link rot, I found that it had already been handled.

On the other hand, I put hours of good-faith work into attempting to improve pages for Thelonious Monk's three primary Prestige scrambled "albums," complete with properly "unrotted" links, and everything I did was reverted by an editor who is assessing that I'm being a Disruptive Editor. I seek mediation or support on this matter. I may not being making these edits in the best possible way, but I see a need to improve these articles, and I am now at a loss.Sojambi Pinola (talk) 18:48, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

@Sojambi Pinola: - First, don't despair because you can revert the reversions of your work. If this other person truly thinks you are a disruptive editor they can have Administrators investigate and you would get the opportunity to give your side of the story. If they don't do that, you can start the same process on them if they always revert your work for reasons with which you disagree. Personally, I think this group of articles are useful for Wikipedia but others may think the sources are too scanty. There are proper forums to iron that out. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 19:44, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
THANK YOU. Sojambi Pinola (talk) 19:49, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

Sleezy D

@Doomsdayer520: Hi, thanks for looking at my page for Sleezy D. Yes if you want to clean up the page and make it more formal sounding, please go ahead. I included quotes from the media as this sums up this person we sadly lost better than I could say, so maybe those should be in quote boxes at least. We can only gather this small amount of info for the guy who passed away, most of it came from the Marshall Jefferson funeral fund web site, and I guess someone will need to make an archive link to this.

If there is anything you can think of to make the page even better or more acceptable, thats great. I linked the page to all references of Sleazy on wiki, of which there were 4 I think, so if you want to change the name of the file to something better, there are only a few related files affected. A bit newb to all this editing stuff.

thanks, dan

New Page Review newsletter November 2019

Hello Doomsdayer520,

This newsletter comes a little earlier than usual because the backlog is rising again and the holidays are coming very soon.

Getting the queue to 0

There are now 804 holders of the New Page Reviewer flag! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog but it's still roughly less than 10% doing 90% of the work. Now it's time for action.
Exactly one year ago there were 'only' 3,650 unreviewed articles, now we will soon be approaching 7,000 despite the growing number of requests for the NPR user right. If each reviewer soon does only 2 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by every reviewer doing only 1 review every 2 days - that's only a few minutes work on the bus on the way to the office or to class! Let's get this over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.
Want to join? Consider adding the NPP Pledge userbox.
Our next newsletter will announce the winners of some really cool awards.

Coordinator

Admin Barkeep49 has been officially invested as NPP/NPR coordinator by a unanimous consensus of the community. This is a complex role and he will need all the help he can get from other experienced reviewers.

This month's refresher course

Paid editing is still causing headaches for even our most experienced reviewers: This official Wikipedia article will be an eye-opener to anyone who joined Wikipedia or obtained the NPR right since 2015. See The Hallmarks to know exactly what to look for and take time to examine all the sources.

Tools
  • It is now possible to select new pages by date range. This was requested by reviewers who want to patrol from the middle of the list.
  • It is now also possible for accredited reviewers to put any article back into the New Pages Feed for re-review. The link is under 'Tools' in the side bar.
Reviewer Feedback

Would you like feedback on your reviews? Are you an experienced reviewer who can give feedback to other reviewers? If so there are two new feedback pilot programs. New Reviewer mentorship will match newer reviewers with an experienced reviewer with a new reviewer. The other program will be an occasional peer review cohort for moderate or experienced reviewers to give feedback to each other. The first cohort will launch November 13.

Second set of eyes
  • Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work, especially while some routine tagging for deletion can still be carried out by non NPR holders and inexperienced users. Read about it at the Monitoring the system section in the tutorial. If you come across such editors doing good work, don't hesitate to encourage them to apply for NPR.
  • Do be sure to have our talk page on your watchlist. There are often items that require reviewers' special attention, such as to watch out for pages by known socks or disruptive editors, technical issues and new developments, and of course to provide advice for other reviewers.
Arbitration Committee

The annual ArbCom election will be coming up soon. All eligible users will be invited to vote. While not directly concerned with NPR, Arbcom cases often lead back to notability and deletion issues and/or actions by holders of advanced user rights.

Community Wish list

There is to be no wish list for WMF encyclopedias this year. We thank Community Tech for their hard work addressing our long list of requirements which somewhat overwhelmed them last year, and we look forward to a successful completion.

ArbCom 2019 election voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. Thank you for your helpful review. Do you know where I can access (human) help with uploading an infobox picture? Rovingrobert (talk) 00:19, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

@Rovingrobert: -- You can do it yourself here: Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard. Adding a picture is quite easy in itself, but there will be a lot of questions about copyright permissions. Help is available at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions and the volunteers there usually respond to questions pretty quickly. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 01:51, 15 December 2019 (UTC)

"Conqueror" by Band-Maid

Hi, I'm Hatto0467.

You added a Band-Maid NY show's picture.

I will edit their new studio album "Conqueror"'s article soon.

Would you help it if you have no problem because I'm a Japanese but my English is not so good? --Hatto0467 (talk) 13:28, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

@Hatto0467: -- Yes, I can help with that article. According to Wikipedia rules, we should wait until after the album is released and some professional reviews become available. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 14:43, 3 December 2019 (UTC)
OK, thank you very much! I greatly appreciate you! Before I edit "Conqueror" album article in Eng wikipedia, it's OK to begin to edit it if you feel that it's no problem to edit it. By the way, it was reported that the digital version of "Conqueror" was ranked in iTunes album chart of several countries, Amazon Best Albums, Amazon Rock Albums. --Hatto0467 (talk) 14:10, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
I talk about "Conqueror" professional reviews. I found this and this articles today. Are these articles considered as professional reviews? If these articles can be used in "Conqueror" article, I'd like to edit it in Eng wikipedia. --Hatto0467 (talk) 13:42, 14 December 2019 (UTC)
@Hatto0467: -- Both of those reviews appear to be useful. There is news that the album has reached the official Oricon chart in Japan and the official Billboard chart in America. I do not know if those charts have been truly published yet. When they are, that will be more than enough for the article. I do not have much time now but will help develop the article little by little when I have more time. Thanks! ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 01:48, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
@Doomsdayer520: I wrote Conqueror article. Please edit it when you are not busy. --Hatto0467 (talk) 14:59, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
@Hatto0467: -- Thank you for bringing the article back to life. I have expanded the text and made some other additions. I do not know if I read the Oricon site correctly so I may wrong on how the album peaked at #12. I have also heard rumors that it made the "World" charts at Billboard in the USA, but if so this has not yet been officially published. Meanwhile, we need to fill in the exact songwriters and producers for each song. I do not yet have a physical copy of the CD; I must wait for that to ship from CDJapan to the eastern USA. When that arrives I should be able to add precise credits to this article. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 01:25, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
@Doomsdayer520: -- Thank you for editing the article! About Oricon site, you wrote "the album peaked at #12" in the article. In Japan's Oricon, I think that albums and singles weekly chart are announced on Wednesday (maybe) because almost all CDs in Japan are released on every Wednesday. In fact, Conquerors CD was also released on Wednesday (December 11). If Conqueror peaked #12 on Oricon weekly album chart, it would peak at #12 on this. But it's wrong ("Symphogear XD Unlimited"'s album truly peaked #12). Oricon weekly album chart are announced until one week (from December 2 to December 8, 2019) now. Albums and singles in Japan, released on December 11, will be listed and announced on next two week (from December 9 to December 15). Consequently, I think that the sentence (album peaked #12 on Oricon) should be corrected in the article. --Hatto0467 (talk) 13:07, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

Page mover granted

Hello, Doomsdayer520. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Primefac (talk) 21:10, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

A graph showing the number of articles in the page curation feed from 12/21/18 - 12/20/19

Reviewer of the Year

This year's Reviewer of the Year is Rosguill. Having gotten the reviewer PERM in August 2018, they have been a regular reviewer of articles and redirects, been an active participant in the NPP community, and has been the driving force for the emerging NPP Source Guide that will help reviewers better evaluate sourcing and notability in many countries for which it has historically been difficult.

Special commendation again goes to Onel5969 who ends the year as one of our most prolific reviewers for the second consecutive year. Thanks also to Boleyn and JTtheOG who have been in the top 5 for the last two years as well.

Several newer editors have done a lot of work with CAPTAIN MEDUSA and DannyS712 (who has also written bots which have patrolled thousands of redirects) being new reviewers since this time last year.

Thanks to them and to everyone reading this who has participated in New Page Patrol this year.

Redirect autopatrol

A recent Request for Comment on creating a new redirect autopatrol pseduo-permission was closed early. New Page Reviewers are now able to nominate editors who have an established track record creating uncontroversial redirects. At the individual discretion of any administrator or after 24 hours and a consensus of at least 3 New Page Reviewers an editor may be added to a list of users whose redirects will be patrolled automatically by DannyS712 bot III.

Source Guide Discussion

Set to launch early in the new year is our first New Page Patrol Source Guide discussion. These discussions are designed to solicit input on sources in places and topic areas that might otherwise be harder for reviewers to evaluate. The hope is that this will allow us to improve the accuracy of our patrols for articles using these sources (and/or give us places to perform a WP:BEFORE prior to nominating for deletion). Please watch the New Page Patrol talk page for more information.

This month's refresher course

While New Page Reviewers are an experienced set of editors, we all benefit from an occasional review. This month consider refreshing yourself on Wikipedia:Notability (geographic features). Also consider how we can take the time for quality in this area. For instance, sources to verify human settlements, which are presumed notable, can often be found in seconds. This lets us avoid the (ugly) 'Needs more refs' tag.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Harry Cunningham (activist), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Donegal (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

FamousBirthsDeaths.com as a source

Hi Doomsdayer520. I noticed that you used famousbirthsdeaths.com as a source for biographical information in Yung Baby Tate. Please note that the general consensus as expressed at WP:RSN is that famousbirthsdeaths.com does not meet the reliable sourcing criteria for the inclusion of personal information in such articles. If you disagree, let's discuss it. Thanks.--Ronz (talk) 21:13, 10 January 2020 (UTC)

@Ronz: - I don't really have strong feelings on this one way on the other, but in removing the unreliable sources from the article, you left several now-unconfirmed statements. Why not add a "citation needed" tag? ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 23:45, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
I glanced at the article and sources and decided I really didn't want to touch the article further. Like many of the music bios I run across cleaning up these sources, the article looks like too much SOAP, but not so blatant that I felt it would be appropriate to stub it without spending much more time researching her first.
Sources like famousbirthsdeaths.com usually just scrape content from other publications, so I expect the material is easily available, if not already duplicated with the current refs. --Ronz (talk) 00:14, 12 January 2020 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer newsletter February 2020

Hello Doomsdayer520,

Source Guide Discussion

The first NPP source guide discussion is now underway. It covers a wide range of sources in Ghana with the goal of providing more guidance to reviewers about sources they might see when reviewing pages. Hopefully, new page reviewers will join others interested in reliable sources and those with expertise in these sources to make the discussion a success.

Redirects

New to NPP? Looking to try something a little different? Consider patrolling some redirects. Redirects are relatively easy to review, can be found easily through the New Pages Feed. You can find more information about how to patrol redirects at WP:RPATROL.

Discussions and Resources
Refresher

Geographic regions, areas and places generally do not need general notability guideline type sourcing. When evaluating whether an article meets this notability guideline please also consider whether it might actually be a form of WP:SPAM for a development project (e.g. PR for a large luxury residential development) and not actually covered by the guideline.

Help me!

I am asking this question here because I cannot figure out the term for what I am looking for in the Help page (and I'm sure it's quite simple). The term is probably "edit tabs" or something similar. Anyway, I use some .js scripts for valid purposes but they have planted many edit tabs on my page that I never use. This is in the area where everyone sees the tabs for article, talk, edit this page, move, watch, etc. I happen to have a bunch more that I never use such as rpp and unlink and they are cluttered and a bit of a nuisance. Is it possible to manually remove the tabs that I never use?

---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 20:09, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

Those tabs come from Twinkle, and you can hide them with CSS. Add the following to your common.css:
#tw-rpp { display: none; }
#tw-unlink { display: none; }

Zinovy Shulman

Hi Doomsdayer520, thanks for you tidying up of my Zinovy Shulman article. By the way, you said that there is only one person by this name with an article, but actually there is also Zinovii Shulman. The spelling with an ii/y in English was kind of arbitrary and they are the same name in Russian. Hence why I put (singer) on my article. Not a big deal either way though as neither is particularly well known. --Dan Carkner (talk) 14:30, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
