User talk:Caissa's DeathAngel
Welcome!
Hey, Caissa's DeathAngel, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions. I hope you like the site and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful (some of them may sound stupid, but I recommend you check them out):
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
- The Sandbox — A great place to experiment
- WP:Village pump — A good place for help
While editing, please remember:
- Be Bold, but not reckless in updating pages
- No personal attacks: be upset with the contributions, not the contributor
You should introduce yourself here at the new user log. I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name, the date, and the time.
For your first edits, I suggest searching for articles that you think might interest you. You could also be audacious and try a random page.
If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome and happy editing! Cbrown1023 18:43, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Red Alert 3
[edit]Hi, I'd like to help out in editing the Red Alert 3 Wikipedia Page. I saw your post on GameFaqs and was brought here. Also, I do believe that LAN is currently not supported for the cooperative campaign in Red Alert 3, yet I am not sure about skirmishes or online play using LAN (I'll check on that later). I'm also new to actually editing Wikipedia pages, so I hope I am doing this right and that I will continue to do so correctly. Thanks, Kilkia123 (talk) 12:17, 10 November 2008 (UTC).
Edit: I have seen that you can play skirmishes and online matches with LAN. I see that it is already included in the article, so alright. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kilkia123 (talk • contribs) 23:28, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Signature problem
[edit]Please do not use a template in your signature unless you set it to automatically subst. Your current signature also does not provide the time that you signed. Please fix your signature according to WP:SIG. Thanks Naconkantari 01:09, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Er, I haven't got a specialised signature, so guarantee that I've not used templates in them. I don't know how!
That box is blank and unchecked, I just sign using either [[User: | ]] ([[User talk: |talk]] • contribs) or the four tildes.
I can only think of one edit for which the time was wrong and that was because I forgot to sign and realised an hour or so afterwards. Rather than leave it unsigned I just signed it again, which unfortunately screwed up the timing. But not significantly enough I don't think to do much damage.
Please direct me to the edit concerned, and show me what I've done - I can't see anything other than what I've mentioned, and if you are going to warn me on a day when I've made more edits than any other since I registered it's common courtesy to demonstrate the incident's location, given you can hardly claim I've done it often. I don't mean to breach WP:CIVIL but that does annoy me. I don't like the idea of being warned when I've just tried to make genuine edits. And if the concern is my use of the test banner in warning users, that was never a signature I thought I was using a genuine shortcut.
EDIT: Ha ha, I forgot to sign that - so this signing is technically wrong too Addyboy 01:29, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
The above message was posted by me seconds ago on your talk page. I'm leaving the timestamp, it seems appropriate under the circumstances. Addyboy 01:30, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry for not providing diffs. The edits in question were [1] and [2], which included the use of {{user}}. Naconkantari 03:49, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, that. It was an innocent mistake done precisely while I was fixing my sig - all subsequent (and previous) ones don't have that in them. Feel free to check my other edits to confirm this - and the WikiProject: Chess one does not count as that is meant to be template signed. I don't want a black mark against my name given I haven't really done anything wrong per se here (one off errors - and you can see in some of my edits I've changed the signature to fix things 2 or 3 times - now that is finised with) Addyboy 20:40, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Removed copyedit tag?
[edit]That copyedit tag was there for a reason (The Day after Tomorrow); there are multiple spelling errors, grammatical errors, inaccuracies, etc. Why did you remove it? I'm gonna put it back. Please don't remove it. (That IP edit was me, forgot to login.)
¤Belinrahs talk/contribs¤
- As I said in the edit summary, I didn't see a particular need for it to be there - I'd not noticed many such errors - and in any case fixing spelling and grammar errors is seen as a better alternative to tagging in the first place. I won't remove it, but having looked at it again I still don't really see much need for it. Addyboy 00:08, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
The Apprentice (UK)
[edit]Hey there. I am Tiddly-Tom from WikiProject BBC. Someone has marked both of the above Wikiprojects (which you seem to be quite high up in the rankings of) as being inactive. I wondered if you would like both above Projects to merge with Wikiproject BBC. They could both have Task Force pages, as we have recently done for WikiProject BBC Sitcoms. After you have thought about it, and talked with other project members if needed, feel free to contact me on my talk page, and if you are interested, we can get the ball rolling. Thank You., Tiddly-Tom 10:24, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
You're right now is definitely the time for pushing the Scrubs article towards GA then onto FA. As for starting a Scrubs task force, I've been considering that for a while now, but there are a few problems with it, chief being that i'll be surprised if we get many members, there is already a group of 6 or 7 editors who are regularly found editing scrubs articles, i doubt there would be many other editors who would join. Having said that i have got a few plans for it, starting off with just bringing the scrubs episode articles into line, just making sure they all have sufficient plot summaries, and full featured music and external link sections (each episode article should have a link to IMDB and TV.com) just too make them all uniform before moving onto getting real-world info on the ones where it can be gotten, but this is all kinda trivial minor stuff, the music and links bit especially, i'll let you know if i get any better ideas for proposals etc--Jac16888 13:57, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- I've requested the peer review, hopefully it will give feedback pretty quickly, and i think i will start the taskforce when(IF?) the article reaches GA, hopefully that should encourage a few more people to join--Jac16888 14:29, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Battle Royale
[edit]Caissa, I know how to stop an article merger from being successful.
Do you have the British Battle Royale DVDs? Know any places with material from where Battle Royale creators talk about their subjects? WhisperToMe (talk) 23:38, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Also you can ask Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and Manga and ja:Wikipedia:Chatsubo (on Japanese Wikipedia) for help for finding real world info about the characters of Battle Royale. WhisperToMe (talk) 23:49, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Runescape has a task force and I think it's only a few articles at most. See: Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide/Task forces - As for sources just check the DVDs quickly, but when you find stuff record the information of the specific editions and post it on a talk page so people with more time can check them out :) WhisperToMe (talk) 09:13, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, the recent edit you made to Spider (solitaire) has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. Dureo (talk) 15:46, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- I feel a bit offended and patronised by that - I removed a section which blatantly shouldn't have been there, and I said what I was doing in the edit summary. Actually pay attention to things like edit summaries before just assuming a large section removal is vandalism plskthxbi. Reply here please, and do not revert my removal of the section again.Caissa's DeathAngel (talk) 16:09, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- Apologies for this, was my error, sorry for taking so long to get back to you, didn't see it on my page until now, I moved it down to the correct section on my page also if you respond there. Dureo (talk) 19:13, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Hiya!
[edit]Yep, it's me from IMDb. Ha! Good to see you! Yeah, BR is one of the few things left on my watchlist. I started off so active here! I came on here between jobs when I thought free-time would last forever... Of course BR's special! Good to see ya anyway!
ps. If you have any ideas or anything on improving any BR pages, lemme know and I'll see how I can help out. The Zig (talk) 20:34, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Speedy tag on Brett bomsta
[edit]Hi! I saw that you put a speedy tag on this article. That was absolutely correct, but in the future you can use a more specific tag instead of the general "speedy" tag. For example, on that page, you could have used {{db-attack}}. If you have any questions, drop me a line! Tnxman307 (talk) 19:29, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]It's on my watchlist now, so, as I said on the talk page, if there's one more incident I'll fully protect it. Cheers, пﮟოьεԻ 57 13:15, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Re AltNation
[edit]Do I actually have to register for an account to do that? If so, how do I go about that? (I won't be able to do it until I get home from work later as I wholly expect the forum to be blocked on work computers).
PS - cool name. -- Roleplayer (talk) 15:53, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Battle Royale
[edit]I'd be happy to work with you on this. Just be aware, I'm not gonna be able to do much in the coming weeks. I'm moving yet again (I realised the other day that this'll be my 12th move in 10 years.. :/) As per usual, I'll probably have a few weeks trying to persuade one or another ISP to actually agree to install something when I'm not at work!
I'll try to help out from work at least in the meantime - my workplace is kind enough to give us free run of the computers after work! Cheers, The Zig (talk) 18:49, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Running Gag
[edit]A while ago (in your old guise of Addyboy) you contributed to a discussion about whether listing notable running gags on the Running gag article was a good idea. Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
[edit]Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

followup on notability tag at Robot Wars
[edit]i would just quote from the notability tag itself: "The best way to address this concern is to reference published, third-party sources about the subject." and from the notability guidline: "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article." the notability tag is different from the unreferenced tag in that the unreferenced tag could be removed after even one, poor quality source is cited. the notability tag requires an independent, reliable source that provides significant coverage. —Chris Capoccia T⁄C 20:07, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Just Thanks
[edit]Hey girl, Just wanted to say thanks for the encouragement to edit. I suppose my domain will live on in some Internet archives long after I'm gone, but it is nice to add to a community project as well. Back to the point, thanks for the kind words and encouragement - closest thing I got to a "welcome" when I signed up. well ... there was the user page, but all it said was lololololollol (haven't figured that one out yet ..lol). Fancy yourself a chess player eh? ... thx again for making the world a little nicer, the web a little more personal, and wiki a little more friendly. Have a happy holiday season (in what ever way you observe it) ...Kind Regards, Ched Ched Davis (talk) 09:08, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

C&C
[edit]All the C&C kerfluffle has got tangled in red tape so I'm just going to be bold and start creating and moving the data to Factions of Command & Conquer and Characters of Command & Conquer. What'd to let you know so you could get in on it if you like.
P.S. I'm thinking we should do it like Factions of Halo which also has main article links (i.e. Covenant (Halo)
- Right, created the page here Factions of Command & Conquer and copied over the draft from your user page. Just needs to be integrated and merged now really. I think the GDI, Nod and possibly the Scrin articles should all be kept but the rest can be fully merged. -- Cabe6403 (Talk•Sign) 12:38, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- Put the article through DYK and it's been accepted. I listed you as creator since it was copied over from your userspace so you should be getting a credit for it soon -- Cabe6403 (Talk•Sign) 22:52, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit]A while ago, there was a discussion about merging a few C&C articles. There was overwhelming support, with a few exceptions. The dust has settled, IMO. Do you think it would be appropriate to proceed? Let me know if you need any help. Randomran (talk) 17:27, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Do you think any additional content needs to be added, or is it a question of doing the redirects? Let's finish up the discussion at the article talk page. Randomran (talk) 21:29, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
