Guam Adventist Academy
[edit]Thanks for the notice! That school is a K-12 school, and usually high schools or schools containing high schools are found to be notable. But I'll try to find secondary sources just to cement the article's presence. WhisperToMe (talk) 14:56, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
Democratic Party (Turkey)
[edit]The "see also" section does forward it back to the general disambiguation page for all "democratic Party" entries. But normally when somebody is looking for a Turkish Democratic Party, he will not need all the parties called democratic parties all over the world, but rather the various formations named so in Turkey specifically. Thus this new arrangement is far more useful to those who are doing a search. werldwayd (talk) 16:54, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Ikuro Takahashi (disambiguation)
[edit]You recently notified me in my talk page with this sign (← shown left) and a paragraph explaining your deletion of the disambiguation page I created not long ago. However your paragraph, which I assume is some cookie-cutter thing you paste on every occasion you do this, was falsely stated in a couple of respects.
- First, you wrote it was orphaned, but obviously you did not actually check to see that I used it in a hatnote on the existing Ikuro Takahashi page. This rendered the hatnote unintelligible, since I did not give in the hatnote the specifics of who the other Ikuro Takahashi was, (and I had my own reasons for doing this)
- Secondly, although you claimed that two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages was the delete criterion, the actual criterion given in the WP:CSD#G6 was those listing only one or zero links.
I think you could have waited till I created the red-link page (which I did, here), and let the two link disambiguation page stand, which the actual WP:CSD#G6 seems to allow. I have also looked into past archived discussions in the CSD talk, and noticed that at least a couple of users have remarked on allowing such red-links to stand so it can serve as a gateway of not yet existing articles, or at least to merely replace the disambiguation with a redirect so that it isn't completely expunged off the face of wiki. --Kiyoweap (talk) 00:22, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
The template was Template:db-disambig, which gives a couple of possible reasons for deletion. It is fine is dabs are orphaned. You might also want to see WP:TWODABS. As for waiting for the second link to be created, you didn't indicate (to my recollection) in your edit summaries that you were imminently creating an article for it. The vast majority of people who add a redlink do not intend to create the article - it's great that you have done so. Redlinks are indeed useful as a gateway, and I regularly add them to disambiguation pages. However, they need to be a gateway to somewhere, by having their own article, or clearly meeting MOS:DABRL or MOS:DABMENTION. Redirecting Ikuro Takahashi (disambiguation) to Ikuro Takahashi could only mislead and confuse readers, and is not particularly helpful to editors, especially as dabs are so quick to write that it would save little time. Also creating the botanist's article still means that, as per WP:TWODABS, a hatnote is reecommended rather than a disambiguation page: If there are only two topics to which a given title might refer, and one is the primary topic, then a disambiguation page is not needed—it is sufficient to use a hatnote on the primary topic article, pointing to the other article. (This means that readers looking for the second topic are spared the extra navigational step of going through the disambiguation page.) Of course, you or someone else may feel that the botanist is at least as notable as the drummer. If someone can demonstrate that backed with evidence, then they should suggest that Ikuro Takahashi is moved to Ikuro Takahashi (musician) or Ikuro Takahashi (drummer), and then a disambiguation page would be best at the primary page - Ikuro Takahashi. I'm glad you've created the botanist's article, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 08:20, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads up about the album page. I have been searching a bit for good sources for the album. I have found a couple of reviews of the album from 3-4 newspapers. However, since the band is Swedish then the reviews are in Swedish as well of course. In addition I might provide a better personnel section based on the album's liner notes. Would adding this information to the page strengthen it's notability or would I just be wasting time by adding it? Better to know before hand... :) Sebras (talk) 20:00, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Hello, and thanks for looking into this. Links to Swedish reviews are fine, I think, especially as you're often given the option to translate it into English. That all sounds like enough to meet WP:NALBUMS. Any improvements to the personnel section probably wouldn't improve its claim to notability, but would improve the article, so it's definitely worth adding. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 20:45, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
- Alright, I'll look into this tomorrow. Maybe there are a few other articles that I have added that needs the same...
Sebras (talk) 21:55, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
- Done. I removed the notability template too. Let me know if you think I should improve it further somehow. Sebras (talk) 17:50, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

The article Feats has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable person/character referenced in a single Old English literary work.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. InShaneee (talk) 03:40, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Re: The Sound of Music (The dB's album)
[edit]Thank you for messaging me! I'm not very experienced with Wikipedia (read: had to watch a video to understand talk pages), so I'm sorry if I'm not following proper protocol. I thought that the album was notable because it was on the Billboard 200 when it was released in 1987 [1]. There aren't that many other websites that review it, but is that enough? Thanks for your understanding. --DKEdwards005 (talk) 04:41, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your message, no need to apologise at all. You may want to post the question of its notability at the Notability Noticeboard (WP:N/N), as I'm not nearly as experienced as those editors about what meets WP:NOTABILITY. It would also give other experienced editors the chance to look to see if they could add sources. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 08:00, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

Agrzhan
[edit]Well, I did find one additional source on the Agrzhan. There might be more to find from an indepth study of Astrakhan history. I would think the best move now might be to either create an article on Astrakhan Tatar or figure out if we have a current article that covers that. Frank's book might give us a better hint at how to situate this article. There might also be more sources in Russian, but I don't read it so I can't help there.John Pack Lambert (talk) 18:24, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi, and wow is that a long time ago. I have no idea, really. I try not to get too involved in notability stuff outside my areas of knowledge nowadays, because I think you have to have some idea of what the hell it's talking about to really be able to assess notability a lot of the time. I see a lot of stuff that I think "really?", but I bet people think that about some of the stuff I write too. So basically, I don't really know the guidelines for this kind of thing. Looking at the article as it was when I speedied it, it's certainly ... changed a little. Maybe the relevant wikiproject could help? Frickeg (talk) 09:53, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

old taggings
[edit]Maybe I am the only one, but I don't find it particularly helpful to get a message that seems to be asking me to follow up on a a tagging I made five years ago. I pretty much ignored the one you left me, it just happens that you have left similar messages on a few other user talk pages on my watchlist. I'm not sure what it is you are hoping to accomplish with these messages, but it feels like you are telling users that you feel they are somehow obligated to do something about these very old edits. As I am sure you know, generally nobody is obligated to do anything around here and if you see something that needs attention you are more then welcome to deal with it yourself. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:47, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
I don't feel there was any need for that. I have not told anyone they I 'feel they are somehow obligated to do something about these very old edits.' I have dealt with issues myself where I am sure of them, but not where I am not. I am sorry that my attempts to start a discussion about concerns others have raised about notability, and thus resolve them, has offended you. Boleyn (talk) 22:09, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Larry Greene
[edit]A tag has been placed on Larry Greene requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
- disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Proposed Deletion of Gardner-White Furniture
[edit]Why do you think it is not a relevant company? GWF is a multimillion a year company, who does charitable works in association with all local news outlets, both Detroit Tigers and Lions, and is very widely appreciated and respected in the furniture business, and sales models are often copied by competitors. All of that documentation supporting what I just said is already on the page as well. S.clouthier (talk) 19:08, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
Gardner-White is a highly notable company in Detroit, it is super ridiculous the way that all of these mods are working on here, if they care so much to try to discredit, they should do research and they would find the high amount of notability.S.clouthier (talk) 19:26, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

"prepend"
[edit]Hallo Boleyn
On some user's talk page I noticed a helpful message from you which amongst other things suggested they reply to you but "prepend" it with {{ping|Boleyn}}. I wonder if that isn't perhaps a rather obscure word: would "start with" be clearer for editors, many of whom aren't first-language English speakers. Especially as it includes "end", which suggests the opposite. (I'm pretty sure I wouldn't know the equivalent term in a couple of languages of which I've got a basic knowledge). Happy Editing! PamD 07:39, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hi user:PamD, it's not a word I can recall ever reading before, but I guess I've learnt something new :) I'm not sure what template that is, but I guess it's something automated/sem-automated via Twinkle? Definitely not my wording. Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 09:16, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
- Ah, if I see it again I'll look a bit more closely. I thought it was a bit of "boilerplate" of your own (I've got a couple of ready-made talk page posts in User:PamD/sandbox for stuff I often want to say). PamD 13:06, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

I don't do NPP except sometimes a blitz on redirects, so I'm not sure where in the system this wording comes from but interestingly it's in two quite different messages as cited here. I hope we can get it improved. PamD 07:42, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

Price
[edit]Look at the Lawrence Price disambiguation page. The first link is to Laurence Price which is a different spelling. The second Lawrence Price (rugby) isn't linked but has a link to London Irish where he isn't mentioned. The third, a redlink, is to Lawrence Price (politician) and a link to United States Senate elections, 1916 where he is mentioned as a losing candidate and so not eligible for a Wikipedia article. There is no need for a disambiguation page at that particular name. Far better to merge them into one disambigation page at Larry Price. Or redirect it to Laurence Price and hatnote that article to the United States Senate elections, 1916 but not the rugby page. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 21:43, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, user:CambridgeBayWeather. Dabs are there to list, in this case, all Lawrence/Laurence Prices mentioned on WP. They don't need an article to be a valid entry, they need to meet MOS:DABMENTION / MOS:DABRL. Laurence and Lawrence are the same name, pronounced the same, with a slightly different spelling that would be an easy mistake for anyone to make - they go together. None of the Larrys state in their articles that they are a Laurence/Lawrence, but the Larrys have a link in the see also section. 3 entries plus 2 see alsos is plenty for a dab. Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 07:32, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) (Followed this out of curiosity, and got into a right spat over Laurence!) Actually the Irish rugby player is no longer mentioned in the target article: he was in the infobox in 2012 when the link was made, but they've changed captains, updated the infobox, and don't have a list of former captains in the article. Interesting, there may be thousands of similar now-unmentioned redirects or dab page entries, as time moves on! Quite agree that Lawrence/Laurence shouldn't redirect to Larry. PamD 07:41, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
- Actually only captain of their Amateur team (now at London Irish Amateur - but still with no list of past captains!). PamD 07:49, 29 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi; earlier in the year you placed a notice of proposed deletion on my talk page. But just in case you're the one who began the deletion process I wanted to make sure you know that notability is not temporary—a series of scientific conferences which happened for more than a decade concerning a disease which is still the number one worldwide cause of death as an individual infectious disease (see List of causes of death by rate § Detailed table) and which appeared in bazillions of medical journal citations and notes during the twentieth century does not become non-notable because time has passed. 1989-90 Norwich City FC season
[edit]For goodness sake, what more do you want? All of the information in the article was obtained from the references listed. Why have you taken it upon yourself to declare it "not good enough"? It's written to the same standard as several other similar articles. It's attitudes like this that stop people contributing to Wikipedia. Skteosk (talk) 16:02, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- So...you're just going to ignore me then? Just get rid of someone else's work with no explanation beyond a vague "Under-referenced"? What references do you think the page needs and doesn't have? All the information on the page came from the sources listed. From books mostly, since that's how information was recorded in 1990. Seriously, what references does a page like that have to have that weren't there? There's an infobox which doesn't have any references in it, but most infoboxes of that type, both for recent seasons and for vintage ones, don't have references in them. There's a squad list, which doesn't really quote a reference, but again, I'm seeing plenty of other squad lists which don't quote a reference. There's a table of transfers: Fair enough, similar lists on other pages have references, but there are other pages of a similar vintage, from what are basically pre-internet years, which don't quote any references and you're not going around deleting them from main space. So, I'll say again, in the hope of getting an answer this time: What do you want? Page references from the source material? What was so wrong about that page that it justifies you striking it through with a red line and saying "Do it again"? Skteosk (talk) 16:42, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
- What's wrong with the page? Skteosk (talk) 16:43, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, user:Skteosk. Please don't send me messages like this - if you're wanting advice and to work with someone, then be civil. I also have a sign at the top of my page so people know I'm not editing regularly right now - I won't always get to everything on the few occasions I can get on for a few minutes, especially if it is something that needs careful looking into. I don't think the article needs to be 'done again'. It now has references - not inline, so not great, but they are there. Just click on the button to submit via AFC. When you've created a few pages with references, you will probably be auto-confirmed and not have to worry about it being checked by New Page Patrol. Thanks for your hard work on this, 18:03, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for your response, I apologise if I was abrupt. I am still a little confused, since the page was deleted/moved to draft after I added the references: I haven't done any editing on it since then. (I have been doing some work in my sandbox but that's another matter.) So, was it deleted/moved by mistake and it actually might be okay? Skteosk (talk) 18:14, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

- Hi user:Sktesok, I can't see the full history of it but I'm sorry if I made a mistake. Definitely put it though AFC and they will keep you right. Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 15:32, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- I've submitted it so hopefully I'll get a response at some point. Full page history is here. Skteosk (talk) 08:37, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- Well, now I've got a message back from them saying it's not good enough, so can you tell them that? Skteosk (talk) 08:59, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, user:Skteosk, it's frustrating when something isn't accepted, and by 'they will keep you right' I meant they will let you know if it isn't up to standard, and if not, what may need to be done. Hopefully you've got that info, but if not, please contact the reviewer. Good luck, Boleyn (talk) 13:19, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- They're being frustratingly vague. Given that you were the one who rejected in the first place, then said it might be all right after all, only for it to be rejected again, any insight would be appreciated. Skteosk (talk) 09:15, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hey there, I wanted to create a page for Firas Zahabi but I found out that it was deleted previously by you, may I know why? Should I not create again? AbYaSSer6 (talk) 18:13, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Hello, AbYaSSer6. Boleyn hasn't edited in the past few days, see her note at the top of the page. She is not an administrator, so she can't delete articles. What she did was "move" the article (=rename it) to Draft:Firas Zahabi. From there it was deleted by an admin because it was an unambiguous copyright infringement. Please see [2] for the admin who deleted it, and for who owns the copyright. If you have reliable independent sources that show Zahabi is notable, you could create a new article from scratch. I don't know if there are such sources, though; martial arts is not a field I've studied. Bishonen | tålk 18:30, 28 November 2020 (UTC).
I noticed after prodding this that you suggested you thought it was notable via edit summary back in February, do you want me to take this to AFD? Hog Farm Bacon 06:28, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

New Page Patrol December Newsletter
[edit]Hello Boleyn,
- Year in review
It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.
Rank | Username | Num reviews | Log |

9 | Hughesdarren (talk) | 4,520 | Patrol Page Curation |
10 | Utopes (talk) | 3,958 | Patrol Page Curation |
- Reviewer of the Year
John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.
- NPP Technical Achievement Award
As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.

The article William Bennet (musician) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable; does not confrom to ctireria of WP:NOTABLE
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Smerus (talk) 16:23, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, user:Smerus, this definitely meets notability, I'm not sure what your specific concerns are, but happy to discuss. Boleyn (talk) 19:41, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
