PrussianOwl (talk) 01:43, 26 May 2020 (UTC)Biodiversity Park, Visakhapatnam is unacceptably full of a myriad of photos and too many detailed lists
[edit]Hello. Let me start by saying that I'm a botanist with a small amount of experience of establishing a nature reserve from scratch - so I'm really on your side. (Like yours, mine also won a very similar 'Green Apple Award', too!). I am also an experienced editor here, and I have dropped by to explain that your article about Biodiversity Park, Visakhapatnam is not acceptable in its present state, and to say what you need to do about it.
That doesn't mean that it I want to see it deleted. Far from it. But this is an encyclopaedia which should simply be giving an appropriate amount of information about a notable topic. I would have expected this article to have no more than, say, four or five key photos in it, and just to list a few of the notable species that it protects. I need you to address this and to remove all but a handful of key images, and all the uncited species lists. None of these are necessary. Please just include one hyperlink to whatever website you have created for the Park, and put that in an 'External links' section. That way, readers here simply needfollow that link to find out more detail directly from the Park.
I think it would be better if you did this, as you probably know what is really important and what is not. But others will definitely remove them if you aren't willing to do this. I don't mean to sound rude or bossy, but I make this request in order to help you create a reasonable Wikipedia article, and not one that currently looks like a promotional website for the park. That is not Wikipedia's purpose.
It would help the article if all the photos you took in the Park are give each a category linking them to the Park. Then at the bottom of the page you can add a little template which tells readers that there are lots more photos they can view on Wikimedia Commons in that category. Like this:
If you click that link you will see that I have already created a Commons Category for you, and you simply need to add Category:Biodiversity Park, Visakhapatnam to each image. Whilst you are there, please also remove all the very broad and inappropriate Categories like 'Category:Biodiversity' or 'Category:Executives' - these are really far too broad for your images and simply confuse people. You may think these are helpful - I can assure you they are not. So, be as specific as you can with Categories, because their purpose is to help people find only the images they need. If you add broad and unwanted categories, you simply bloat other categories with images that really shouldn't be there.
Finally, I would assume that you must have a very close connection with the park, as you took most of the photos? I would therefore ask you to add a Conflict of Interest declaration on your userpage. See WP:COI for details how to do this. (This is nothing to be ashamed of - we just need clarity of your connection, and certainty that only one person is accessing this Wikipedia account to make edits. If you are an employee, or are being paid to create this article, you are obliged by our rules to make a formal declaration of who is paying you. See WP:PAID for how to do that. Again, clarity and openness ensures we all understand who is editing for what reason. Many thanks, and regards from the UK, Nick Moyes (talk) 23:57, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

You're work is highly appreciated and very much essential in a world like this, where people are becoming ever more hesitant towards afforestation and marine life conservation. Thank you very much. Drarry2006 (talk) 09:56, 7 December 2020 (UTC) |
You are welcome!
[edit]Your work certainly needs more than a barnstar. So the need to thank me does not arise.😄--Drarry2006 (talk) 01:35, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
