XW10508 is an orally active prodrug of esketamine, an NMDA receptor antagonist, which is under development for the treatment of major depressive disorder and chronic pain.[1][4][2][3] It is taken by mouth.[1][2][3]

The drug is a novel esketamine analogue and conjugate that acts as a prodrug of esketamine.[3] It is being developed as a once-daily orally administered modified-release formulation with misuse resistance.[3]

As of August 2024, XW10508 is in phase 2 clinical trials for major depressive disorder and is in phase 1 clinical trials for chronic pain.[1][4][2] However, no recent development has been reported for these indications.[1] The drug was originated by XW Labs and is being developed by XWPharma.[1][4][2] It is being trialed in Australia.[1][2] The chemical structure of XW10508 does not yet seem to have been disclosed.[1]
