There is a Pakistani IP user removing links to "Indo-Canadian" articles from Pakistani diaspora templates. He objects to the term "Indo-Canadian" (which actually means all Canadians of south Asian origin) and therefore is removing links to Indo-Canadians in Greater Vancouver and Indo-Canadians in the Greater Toronto Area (which have information on people of Pakistani origins living in those cities)

His edits are grossly inappropriate. After the last revert I am notifying this project. WhisperToMe (talk) 00:22, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

@WhisperToMe: I can see that Indo-Canadian might perhaps translate to South Asians. However, I can also see there is a comprehensive article on South Asian Canadians. While the Indo-Canadians article discusses Canadians of descent from the Republic of India, rather than South Asia. How about renaming these articles to South Asian Canadians (if that is the group they are subjecting) as a way to circumvent this terminology issue? That is how Wikipedia seems to go about in identifying the distinction. Just a suggestion. Mar4d (talk) 04:35, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
Sounds like a very good idea to me. YBG (talk) 04:38, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
@Mar4d: I don't mind if the articles are named "South Asians of..." - Indo-Canadian is synonymous with South Asian Canadian (the term for people from post-partition India is essentially "East Indian Canadian" although the terms "Indo-Canadian"/"East Indian"/"South Asian" are also loosely used in a synonymous fashion). See my research at Indo-Canadians#Terminology (Book citation showing that "East Indian" is the specific term for people coming from India)
While I don't mind if the associated articles are renamed I also think Pakistani editors should be educated on what "Indo-Canadian" means and that they should understand if a Pakistani Canadian is described as an "Indo-Canadian"
WhisperToMe (talk) 04:44, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
Just took a look at the article section. Yes, it appears the two are used interchangeably. In that case, a page move becomes more easy as we can establish 'South Asian' is an accepted term and what Wikipedia seems to use on the main article to identify people from that region. If doing that would end the nationalist edit war, the merrier. Your point about educating users of the interchangeability is valid. I would not mind a sentence or two on Pakistani Canadians discussing the synonymous use of 'Indo-Canadians' and 'South Asian-Canadians' subsuming the group. Mar4d (talk) 05:04, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

I have nominated this list for featured list because I think it meets all of the FL criteria and so has great potential to become a Featured List. could someone please try to improve the lead and prose and ce the text. Thank you.--Saqib (talk) 17:43, 3 August 2016 (UTC)

Article title problem - Nishan-e-Pakistan

The title refers to a particular award (the Nishan-e-Pakistan), which is the highest award possible, but the article content covers all the <x>-e-Pakistan awards (Nishan Hilal, Sitara and Tamgha). Normally there are different levels of orders, but in this case, there's only one level actually called Order (nishan). Therefore, the article title is a bit confusing, and I'd like to change it to something clearer, but I don't know what that would be. It is also possible that the Civil decorations of Pakistan article is organized incorrectly in the table, but I am not sure there either. Can someone help me sort this out? MSJapan (talk) 19:31, 2 September 2016 (UTC)

MSJapan: how about going in the other direction, and splitting the other awards into separate articles? "Third highest civilian award" would most certainly deserve and article, in my book. Vanamonde (talk) 04:54, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
I believe the rest of the awards are lower in hierarchy (i.e. second, third, fourth order), that's why they are listed below the Nishan-e-Pakistan. Though I agree with the assessment that each of them are notable to have their own articles. Mar4d (talk) 09:46, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
I'd bet they were separate at one point and then combined because of lack of length of the individual sections. Also, just because they're individually notable doesn't mean they should get an article if we can't come up with anything meaningful to say. What I'd like to do for the moment is come up with a correct blanket term to cover everything, and then see what can be found - I know for sure we need pictures of the various awards, as well as a history (which seems to be pretty standard - they were all created at the same time), and a list of recipients, some of which we have and some of which we don't. The other issue is that I'm not sure how to break it up - should it be by Nishan, Hilal, Sitara, etc. (class), or should it be by Pakistan, Shujaat, Imtiaz, etc. (type)? MSJapan (talk) 17:59, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
@MSJapan: I just went over the order of civil decorations again and I see where the confusion lies. There are four award classes; the most prestigious is Nishan (symbol), followed by Hilal (crescent), Sitara (star), and Tamgha (medal). What's apparent at Nishan-e-Pakistan is that all the other awards have been listed because they're part of the "Order of Pakistan" (e-Pakistan) and they are lower in terms of their hierarchy (the Nishan is followed by the Hilal, Sitara and Tamgha classes). So the article has lumped together these awards because they belong to the same Order, not because of their Class (each of those awards are in fact the highest in their respective classes as the table shows). I believe awards are usually defined by the Order they belong to, not the class (the class is just for hierarchy purposes). So to answer your question, it'd probably make sense to break it up as Order of Pakistan, Order of Shujaat, Order of Imtiaz, Order of Quaid-i-Azam and Order of Khidmat, with each of these having classes from Nishan to Tamgha in descending order. Mar4d (talk) 19:18, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
OK, got it. I'll try to work on that. MSJapan (talk) 02:22, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
Or if the problem of insufficient content remains, rename the original to "civil decorations of Pakistan" or something of that sort. Vanamonde (talk) 05:12, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

The list has has been promoted to FL status. But If you guys can update or improve it, please do so. --Saqib (talk) 08:58, 22 September 2016 (UTC)

Mazhabi Sikhs

Hi, I've got the impression that this project may be fairly dormant nowadays but I wonder if anyone could point me in the direction of sources relating to Mazhabi Sikhs in Pakistan? Our article did say that they are still present there but I have my doubts, especially given the 1947 migrations of communities both to and from Pakistan/India. Might there be modern census data that could help, for example? Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 08:27, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

Anyone? Or should this project be marked as dormant? - Sitush (talk) 09:52, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
Can't find any mention of Mazhabi Sikhs or even Sikhs at least in the 1998 census report of Punjab. I guess they (Sikhs in general) were counted among "Others" because of their few numbers.
However this source says that there is a Mazhabi Sikh gurdwara at Karachi , which I figure is in Narayan Pura and still functional according to this. So I suppose Sikhs going to this gurdwara might be Mazhabi Sikhs but I am not sure how good this is for inclusion in the article. --SMS Talk 19:46, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
Brilliant, thanks. I will see if I can chase anything up from that. Call me surprised! - Sitush (talk) 20:37, 22 September 2016 (UTC)

Federal ministers

Lately, I have been working on fixing the issues with the biography pages of Federal Ministers of Pakistan. Out of 21 pages, most of the pages were poorly sourced and very promotional. So it took me a while to fix them all up and since now the pages have been cleaned-up to meet the WP guidelines, I request volunteers to keep an eye on them and remove any sort of vandalism and unsourced or objectionable text added to pages which could possibly put article's quality at stake, again. I believe the pages of current cabinet members are important and should be neccessary to keep them clean and properly sourced. --Saqib (talk) 09:54, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

Please verify. What is RS?Xx236 (talk) 06:19, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

My first thought was WP:RS, but of course not!! On further thought, maybe it is Railway Station. Probably should be merged with Dandot railway station. YBG (talk) 08:15, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
Or maybe not. Dandot RS claims to be in Jhelum District, Punjab, but Dandot railway station claims to be in Sindh. YBG (talk) 08:18, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
And then there is Dandot claiming to be in Chakwal District, Punjab. YBG (talk) 08:21, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
There is a railway station in Dandot town, Jhelum as well so I assume the title referring to Dandot Railway Station. --Saqib (talk) 06:56, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Various Punjabi dialects

Many of the articles on Western Punjabi dialects include lists of words in the given dialect. The trouble is that these are unsourced, the entries have sometimes been modified by various anonymous users, and these articles have generally been subjected to quite a bit of sockery and POV-pushing. I think the wordlists are unreliable and I'm planning to remove them all, but it would be nice if someone could have a look and let me know in case I'm wrong. There are such wordlists for example at Thalochi dialect, Jhangvi dialect and Multani dialect. – Uanfala (talk) 17:34, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

Full protection requested for "Template:Overseas Pakistani"

@182.189.225.179: The Pakistani IPs don't seem to be getting the message. I got this message from an IP user criticizing me for correctly pointing out what "Indo-Canadian" means, accusing me of "vandalism". He removed the Toronto/Vancouver pages *despite* the fact I had them renamed to "South Asian" ameliorate this.

I think it's time to do full protection.

I also edited the lead of Indo-Canadian to make it clear that A. the term *also* includes other South Asians and B. when Statistics Canada differentiates specifically post-partition India it uses "East Indian" and not "Indo-Canadian" as the differentiating word. (although in reality that too gets mixed up with the other words) WhisperToMe (talk) 15:10, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Pakistan needs major restructuring

After having compared Pakistan with United States, India and China articles, I have come to the following conclusion.

i. 'Economy' sub-section needs to be given its own Section (move it out of 'Infrastructure').

ii. 'Geography, environment and climate' section should be listed right after 'History' and above 'Government and politics'.

iii. 'Urbanisation' sub-section needs to be moved and listed under 'Demographics' section.

iv. 'Military' sub-section needs to be given its own Section (move it out of 'Government and politics').

v. 'Science and technology' sub-section can have its own Section (move it out of 'Infrastructure').

Consensus is sought for the necessary changes (which obviously should be carried out by senior Wikipedians), after which this article needs to be nominated for Good Article status.

P.S. Each recommended point should be debated separately so that the ones with consensus can be implemented. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mfarazbaig (talkcontribs) 00:10, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

Kot_Adu

Greetings, I have no domain knowledge on the general topic of Pakistan however I noticed the Kot_Adu article has recently had about 12K worth of text added, with no sources provided for the new text. The text needs copy editing for grammar, and some aspects of the writing sound very non-encyclopedic. Before I take a run at cleaning it up, I wanted to reach out here and see if someone with more expertise on Pakistan could check it out and groom this article a bit. There may be some good content in the new edit however, you may be better equipped with proper RS's to validate whether the content is good or not. I'll watch this page so if someone wants to take it on, please let me know. Otherwise I'll try to circle back to it. My aim here is just to keep the article clean so that any non-sensical content doesn't detract from what may be meaningful and actually verifiable. Cheers and thanks! Gojra

Hi there,

The article for Gojra has been on my watchlist for a while now due to repeated promotion, sock puppetry, and [somewhat less problematically] adding a great deal of unsourced content, including opinion. Like many city/town articles, it attracts a lot of WP:SPAs and new users who don't know how Wikipedia works. I've just done some cleanup from the last round of several IPs/new accounts adding such content, but the article could really use some attention from experienced editors if anyone is so inclined.

Widespread deletion and vandalism of content on the Northern Pakistani tribes and clans

A lot of content (in some cases, entire articles), related to the tribes of Nortern Pakistan, has been deleted by a wikiuser that goes by the name 'sitush' (from southern India). Only explanation given by him for such vandalism is that HE does not consider the British Raj, Ancient Persian or Greek sources as reliable. It should be noted that the British Raj, Persian, and Greek sources are the only sources which documented the history of most of the tribes in northern Pakistan and by refusing to accept them as reliable sources, the user mentioned earlier has been responsible for a lot of empty or vandalized articles. Moreover, the said user also locks the pages from edits. I would like to know why and how, a person from southern India, is allowed to dictate people from Northern Pakistan on what HE considers reliable and what he does not consider reliable. It would seem to me that editing wiki pages is his full time job and he gets paid for it as he takes little to no time to undo an edit done on an article regarding tribes of northern Pakistan and is always active on wikipedia. Both articles were started by now-blocked User:Thecutehero and the categories were included in the original versions of the articles. I removed the categories because the articles do not refer to any kind of hoax but I also know _absolutely nothing_ about Lahore. Is Jamaat Ahle Sunnat the same as proscribed sectarian group ASWJ?

The term Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah currently goes to a redirect with links out to Sunni Islam, Barelvi, and various Sunni groups, including Jamaat Ahle Sunnat. It appears that Jamaat Ahle Sunnat might the same thing as the proscribed Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat (ASWJ). Or is JAS something different entirely and just some basic Barelvi group, and do we currently lack an article for Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat (ASWJ)?

What brought this to my attention was a new article on Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi, the leader of proscribed ASWJ. For "whatever reason" the new article did not mention at all that ASWJ is proscribed, nor that Ludhianvi is on a terrorism suspect list in Pakistan (per reliable news reporting). I would invite interested persons to watchlist that page as it is possible that supporters may "whitewash" the page to remove any criticism of this figure, or alternately that it might be vandlalized by opponents.

Thanks for any help figuring out if ASWJ (proscribed) is an existing page, or needs a new page! MatthewVanitas (talk) 09:34, 22 February 2018 (UTC)

It appears that the article for the proscribed ASWJ is Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan; they changed their name to ASWJ and were proscribed under that name. Is that correct? MatthewVanitas (talk) 11:14, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
@MatthewVanitas: Yes, that's true. Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan is a proscribed organisation. Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah is a broad term that generally refers to the followers of Sunni Islam.  samee  talk 03:06, 2 March 2018 (UTC)

Help with geography of KP

Hi folks - I'm a stub sorter trying to figure out where various populated places and geographic features lie within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. At the moment I'm having difficulty determining the boundaries of Upper Kohistan District and Lower Kohistan District - the articles on them only refer to the split of the district and not where the borders are. If someone would go through the Category:Geography of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and add a category or text specifying the location of a populated place in Kohistan, I would greatly appreciate it! (Also, if anyone is willing to split {{Kohistan-Union-Councils}}, that would help as well.) Cheers - Pegship (talk) 18:09, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

Spelling, Zil-e-Huma, Zill-e-Huma or Zille Huma

There are three articles with the names Zil-e-Huma (politician), Zil-e-Huma, Zill-e-Huma. All three belongs to Pakistan. There is a Zil-e-Huma (disambiguation) page, which list down all three of them. I have opened discussion on talk page Talk:Zil-e-Huma (disambiguation) to standardize this name in English with correct or with spelling which are widely accepted. You are welcome to go Talk:Zil-e-Huma (disambiguation) and give you feedback. With consensus we can rename these three articles and disambiguation page. --Spasage (talk) 18:17, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

Please see Talk:Khes. This article and its primary author could use some help. The topic appears at least marginally encyclopedic, but the main editor (not a native English speaker) seems to have trouble understanding the core content policies, parsing the exact meaning of the sources and citing them accurately (may have even contradicted them in a few places). As I've suggested on the talk page, there are probably non-English sources that are good for this (perhaps already listed in non-English articles at South Asian-languages Wikipedias that haven't been linked to this article yet). I already did a cleanup pass on the page, last night, to make it more comprehensible, but there are sourcing issues I can't really deal with. I'll notify WT:INDIA, too, since this topic is kind of a pan-Punjab thing.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  00:57, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

Indian Chronicles & their impact on Wikipedia's Content Transparency about Pakistan

Hi Everyone, I've started editing wikipedia recently & found too many biased content against Pakistan usually referenced by indian websites & possibly from those non-indian websites which were busted by EU disinformation Lab as Indian Chronicles. As named by EU disinfo lab, Indian Chronicles is currently active indian web of NGOs & websites trying their best to defame the image of Pakistan. It has been 16 years that India is using Almost 750 fake news outlets to defame & discredit Pakistan. There is a lot of information about indian Chronicles on web, which you should Check. Some things which we can do,

Suggestions

  • Blocking referencing from Those fake news outlets.
  • Removing all fake info on Wikipedia from those fake news outlets.
  • Creating an Article about indian Chronicles (though there are many reliable, independent references available, but still there's no article on wikipedia about indian Chronicles)
  • & Other possible options.

I don't know exactly how to do above tasks but we can figure out.... Thanks... HelloPak (talk) 20:04, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

Maps

Recently MuhammadWaleed83752 has modified several maps on two pages of interest to this project. This work is to be commended as a good faith effort to improve our encyclopedia. The changes to the maps are mostly the addition of text explaining the status of Jammu & Kashmir. There are, however, some concerns that should be considered before more work is devoted to this effort.

  1. Is the text large enough to be easily read?
  2. Have there been other unintentional changes made?
  3. Does the J&K information help the reader understand the subject of the articles?
  4. Do these maps comply with the WP:NPOV as stated in WP:PAK § The scope of the project It is encouraged that a Neutral Point of View be taken into consideration while submitting maps relating to the disputed territories of Kashmir.

Here are the changes:

Recent changes in maps in two Pakistan-related articles
WP article name (and diff) // Caption Page/maps before edits Page/maps after edits
Princely states of Pakistan (diff) article before edits article after edits
The princely states of 1947 in purple.
Bahawalpur
Former administrative units of Pakistan (diff) article before edits article after edits
Map of Pakistan with Former administrative units of Pakistan highlighted
Federal Capital Territory
Map of one unit of Pakistan in 1955
Map of new provinces of Pakistan in 1970

As I am not a member of this project and only occasionally contribute to articles under WP:PAK, I cannot speak for the project. But I am familiar enough to know that these changes should be reviewed and are subject to consensus. YBG (talk) 06:56, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing this up. Yes, the maps were made in good faith, but very clearly violate WP:NPOV – generally, if you see the word "occupied" used to refer to either country's controlled areas of Kashmir, that's a very clear sign (tellingly, people who use that term invariably only use it for one of the sides, never for both). Added bonus for also tossing in the word "illegally".
Now, the addition of a text box clarifying aspects of a map is usually not a bad idea. But it's problematic here: the text itself is not as neutral as it appears at first sight, and it goes into detail that doesn't help the purpose of the maps (it's not clear, for example, why the map should have paragraphs of text about the status of Kashmir, while not mentioning more obviously relevant facts, like what map projection was used or as of which year were Pakistan's internal administrative boundaries correct). – Uanfala (talk) 13:45, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

IN REPLY TO Uanfala (talk)

1. Jammu and Kashmir dispute is one of the oldest internationally recognized disputes pending on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council.

2. United Nations has passed 18 Resolutions on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, and until the final resolution of the issue under UN auspices, the region remains disputed.

3.It is entirely reasonable to expect that a map of this sensitive region should reflect the disputed status of the territory.

4.Even if the maps are for illustrative purpose, the objectivity and neutrality of the disputed regions cannot be overlooked. Hence, UN maps of the region of Jammu and Kashmir on Wikipedia should be used and reflect the position on Jammu and Kashmir which is supported by the UN Charter and applicable UNSC Resolutions.

5.Any unilateral publication and peddling of incorrect maps to depict Jammu and Kashmir as part of India is incorrect and against Wikipedia’s ethical code MuhammadWaleed83752 (talk) 13:45, 02 May 2021 (UTC)

The two changed maps at Princely States of Pakistan shown above were reverted to their previous state on May 18 by Uanfala, but were restored on 6/11 in two (1 & 2) edits by MuhammadWaleed83752. Contrary to what this editor states above, these maps are obviously biased, do not conform to WP:NPOV, and emphasize information that is clearly off topic of the article involved.

A map which merely marked Kashmir as a 'disputed territory', I believe that would be acceptable, provided the marking was unobtrusive and did not detract from the primary subject matter, and expressed this status of the dispute in a NPOV manner. But a map which adds over 100 words of text to the map expressing a one-sided view to a territorial dispute is clearly not helpful. YBG (talk) 05:24, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Zhob Valley Railway

Any watcher who is knowledgeable about Zhob Valley Railway?

After trains ceased plying c. 1986 (and the proposed gauge-conversion hit hurdles), almost all mobile properties — from wagons to cranes to furnaces — were stolen in the span of a few years. This generated a fair deal of hullaballoo in local media and an official enquiry was "supposedly" launched by Pakistan Railways. I am looking for the conclusion-report of that enquiry, if it indeed took place and the report was made public. TrangaBellam (talk) 17:30, 18 September 2021 (UTC)

Minority languages in lede

Assalamu alaykum and good afternoon,

There is an ongoing dispute at several articles (e.g. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Quetta) over whether to include placenames in local minority languages (Hindko, Balochi, etc.) where the spellings in these languages do not differ from the Urdu one. This has been brought to ANI (permalink) by one of the users involved, but as it seems to be primarily a content dispute (with some edit warring occurring as a result), the thread appears to be premature at this time. In my opinion, this issue is better discussed here.

Therefore, I would like to start a discussion for the following question:

Should placenames in languages be included in the lede for articles where:

  1. The language is not the primary local language and/or the majority language of the province;
  2. The language does not hold any official status in the province; AND
  3. The spelling of the placename in the language does not differ from the Urdu spelling.

M Imtiaz (talk · contribs) 17:39, 11 June 2022 (UTC)

Support as OP: Pakistan is a highly diverse country in many aspects but, unlike India, has historically refused to grant official status of any sort to its local languages, with the "national language" being one that is, in fact, native to modern-day central India, so whether such status is present cannot reasonably be used as a criterion in including these languages in ledes. Provinces like KPK and Balochistan are by no means linguistically homogeneous, and to select only one language spoken in these places, and assign Urdu the same status, is effectively a refusal to recognise the significance of the minority populations which speak those languages that are not included in the lede. While the spelling may coincidentally be identical to Urdu in some cases, owing to how the Perso-Arabic abjad operates, it must still be kept in mind that they are separate words in separate languages; additionally, while Urdu, Punjabi, Saraiki, etc. are written in Nasta'liq, I believe Sindhi, Balochi, and Pashto use Naskh. Outside readers who are unfamiliar with Pakistan may also be misled into believing that there exist no other languages native to these places. M Imtiaz (talk · contribs) 17:39, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
@M Imtiaz: I disagree with your statement slightly. There is a language section which includes a pie chart on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa#Demographics which represents the languages of KPK. Languages should definitely be mentioned in the lead, as it is done in many other Pakistani-city articles like Peshawar, but the matter here is that Hindko is being added unnecessarily here. There is no difference in the spelling, and just ends up cluttering the lead and infobox - hence why I belived that it was better to leave Hindko out in the lead. نعم البدل (talk) 19:50, 11 June 2022 (UTC)

I don't believe it is necessary to include every single language spoken. If there is a difference in the spelling of the name, then it should be mentioned otherwise it need not to be mentioned since it would just clutter the introductions and infoboxes, like it has been done at Quetta and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In KPK alone, there 20 languages spoken - it would be ridiculous having to mention them all. نعم البدل (talk) 20:03, 11 June 2022 (UTC)

I think the way it has been done so far on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa seems absolutely fine, "Urdu and Hindko: خیبر پختونخوا" is not 'cluttering up anything', per WP:NOTPAPER I see no reason not to include both. As long as there is no contention that the languages is spoken (non-trivially) in the place in question. JeffUK (talk) 20:07, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
Okay, so then my question would be, how may languages should be included then in the lead, because KPK has a lot of languages, Pashto, Hindko, Khowar, Kohistani, Kalasha, Wakhi - to name some of the significant ones? For the infobox, I would say it's better to only include the names instead of language + name, like it is done at Peshawar (without the {{nq}} style). نعم البدل (talk) 03:48, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
If the name is the same in all relevant languages, then I think it's best to just give that name without listing the languages, as is done at Multan. If there are several different names, then keeping them right at the start of the article's first sentence feels over the top: for most readers, that would be just unintelligible clutter that they'll have to skip in order to get to the part of the lede they can read. In such cases, it's probably best if all the names are only given in the "Names" section, and if there isn't one – at the end of the lede. – Uanfala (talk) 14:23, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
"If there are several different names, then keeping them right at the start of the article's first sentence feels over the top:" Do you have any example of articles that actually have this problem? JeffUK (talk) 16:40, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
Peshawar in its current version is a prime example. – Uanfala (talk) 16:49, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
I don't see a problem with that, languages are really important to people and I don't think this seriously harms readability. JeffUK (talk) 21:27, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

Tourism in Pakistan Undue edits

Not sure how active this Project is however recently I have noticed an User adding large amounts of text about influencers on Tourism in Pakistan sourcing the vast majority of information from one article from the Guardian and placing it prominently at the article top section.

It smells of agenda driven editing and comparing it to every other Tourism article about other nations completely Undue and needs to be removed its an obvious way of painting a certain picture and pushing a view point . However considering influencers are invited the world over by many nations why is Pakistan being singled out? I am aware that Pakistan related articles have always been targets due to a large number of a particular type of editor dominating this website but you cannot just sit back and let them set their agenda here its time to take back a bit of control and balance out this Tourism article. Requesting article expansion help in Pakistan economic crisis article

Already article 2022–2023 Pakistan economic crisis is not in good updated condition, moreover recently WP has been censored in Pakistan. The article seem to need article expansion help to keep adequately updated.

WikiProject Pakistan/Pakistani sources

Hi Wikipedians,

Like other countries, we are also in need of establishing a "project page" regarding reliable and unreliable sources for Pakistan-related topics. I have created a page for the purpose. Please, contribute and share your opinions and assessments on the talk page:

Wikipedia:WikiProject Pakistan/Pakistani sources

Thanks to all. Insight 3 (talk) 14:51, 22 February 2023 (UTC)

There seems to be confusion over her name as some newspapers give her name as Suman Kumari. Which name should she have? GrahamHardy (talk) 15:45, 23 May 2023 (UTC)

2016 Indian Line of Control strike

This article is about refuted claim of a surgical strike but that should be mentioned in the first paragraph of the lead just like 2019 Balakot airstrikes does.

Kindly join the discussion at Talk:2016 Indian Line of Control strike#Authenticity to help establish consensus. Editorkamran (talk) 12:42, 13 August 2023 (UTC)

Chitral District

A huge number of articles need to be updated after Chitral District was split into Upper and Lower Chitral District, even though that change happened in 2018. In particular, every subcategory of Category:Chitral District, and every template associated with Chitral District, needs to be split. See also Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2023_October_22#Category:Chitral_District. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 00:23, 23 October 2023 (UTC)

Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri

Would anyone from this project like to take a look at Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri to assess notability? --Crosji (talk) 06:12, 9 May 2024 (UTC)

Cable 1971

Cable 1971 do not seems to have any notability, with poor evidence for it's existence. Can someone from this project look at it to assess it. Pheeca93 (talk) 20:10, 2 June 2024 (UTC)

Pakistan Alpine Institute

Hi there, I've tried to do some cleanup to this article Pakistan Alpine Institute, but I'm not finding any current reliable sources. I think it might be closed after the founders were killed in an accident. I am not sure, but this page is a frequent destination for vandalism. If there is someone associated with this project that could help figure out what is happening, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you Nayyn (talk) 15:44, 3 September 2024 (UTC)

I fixed up the text. Hopefully now everyone is happy. Wikibear47 (talk) 17:19, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
