- The new term for coordinators will be starting at the beginning of October. Elections will commence within the next few days. If you have interest in helping to maintain and guide the project, consider nominating yourself. Details on the role can be found on the main coordinator page. A notice of the nomination period will be sent to all members once the election begins.
- AnmaFinotera resigned as coordinator after she retired from Wikipedia. AnmaFinotera has been with WP:FILMS for several years, writing several GA/FAs for the project and serving as coordinator since 2009. Details about her retirement can be found on her user page.
- A few adjustments were made to {{Infobox film}} this month. In addition to the larger image size and the rearrangement of several fields, the writing credit has been modified to include credit for both the screenplay and story. Please review the template to expand on and/or remove unneeded fields from the articles you work on.
- Our project currently has over 73,000 film-related articles, with over three hundred unassessed articles, thanks to the assessment department! Remember to always add the
{{Film|class=}} template to a film article's talk page so the project can get a better idea of what work still needs to be done. If you believe that an article should be assessed at a certain class, feel free to follow the assessment scale and assess the article yourself (it's not too difficult to determine the basic classes such as stubs, categories, or lists). Below is a table showing a breakdown of our articles by class.
- Based on views, the top five most popular articles from our project this month were: Inception, The Expendables, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Internet Movie Database, and 2010 in film. For a list of our project's top 1,000 most popular articles, see here. Consider helping to improve one of these articles that is seen by thousands to millions of people each month.
- Several FARs were opened this month. Please comment on whether November and Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back should remain as FAs or be delisted.
- Spotlight Update: Multiple films and film-related articles have reached GA and FA status in August 2010.
