I still have the jacket ;)

[edit]

I've kept the jacket for those wondering. I still wear it occasionally, but it's mostly used for developing an automated firing system. I'll put more squibs on it and do a demo video ;)

I also want to put up a figure of squibs with exploding down feathers instead of fake blood to simulate a gunshot wound on a down jacket. Will do so when I have time. Stay tuned. Adenosine Triphosphate (talk) 00:58, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do you do special effects for movies? I'm curious how you know about these. Félix An (talk) 00:28, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey! Yes and no, it's not my main job per se. I was thinking of doing some Youtube videos to go more in depth, and maybe a few tutorial/consulting type pages. I really want to spend some more time on it but I'm quite busy. What do you like to know more about? It seems like I didn't explain it that well in the article ;) Adenosine Triphosphate (talk) 11:07, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would love to see some sort of documentation or tutorial on how this effect can be accomplished! It would be very useful for independent filmmakers and wannabe ones like me. 😂 Since Wikipedia is not suitable for tutorials, you could write it on the sister website Wikibooks, which has plenty of tutorials! ah interesting, i was thinking of setting up a wordpress website for this. i could look into wikibooks, i've never thought of it, thanks! i think the main thing needing emphasis is safety. another thing i find many people overlook is how the whole aesthetics and preparation work with the clothing. been meaning to do this for the last year or two now, when i started with this article. Hello Adenosine Triphosphate and thanks for all your contributions to this article. However, despite the improvements, the article fails criterion 2b since there are too many unreferenced paragraphs. Examples are the paragraphs starting with "Despite advances in digital effects", "Dead-character costumes are stage clothes", and "While most outfits can only be used once". According to criterion 2b, these passages require inline citations "no later than the end of the paragraph".

The article uses various sources from youtube and wordpress. They are considered generally unreliable and typically shouldn't be used, see WP:RSP.

I suggest that you add/replace all the relevant references before a renomination.

A few other observations

  • WP:EARWIG detects no copyvios
  • The assembld blood squib device is replace "assembld" with "assembled"
  • the irreversable damage caused by replace "irreversable" with "irreversible"
  • shooting a scene with blood squibs start with a thorough replace "start" with "starts"
  • Careful manfuacturing and strategic replace "manfuacturing" with "manufacturing "
  • Any issues that occured are documented replace "occured" with "occurred"
