problems with squirell(I am sorry I cannot spell squirrel right but anyways)

[edit]

I have seen the movie 30+ times and their is nothing like the one mentioned at the end of the movie and squirrels are not agitated when the tree is cut down so I am deleting both parts on the article. == --Marchbaby321 21:35, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Why is this film classed as a prequel?

[edit]

I haven't seen it, but isn't this more of a "reboot" kind of thing than a prequel? David (talk) 19:19, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cross

[edit]

This article is supposed to be about the film, it seems excessive to have a very long section criticizing one actor from the film. Perhaps this whole section might be better if it was moved entirely to the article about David Cross? It is mentioned in his article there but much more briefly.

The lengthy criticism of Cross seems ... well I want to say WP:UNDUE but it is probably somewhat fair but excessively long and certainly a little offtopic. Perhaps someone could trim it back a bit. It also seems excessive to include a photograph of Patton Oswalt in an article about Alvin and The Chipmunks when he does not appear in the film. I thought there might have been some discussion about the section but I checked the talk page and the talk pages archives and apparently not.

I hope someone will trim this back to a more reasonable and measured section. Maybe in a few weeks I will come back and try to improve it myself, if no one does it first, or explains why the section needs to be so long and detailed. -- 109.79.75.247 (talk) 21:04, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, if you are still on Wikipedia, you would be glad to know that I have fixed the weight problem. 𝚈𝚘𝚟𝚝 (𝚝𝚊𝚕𝚔𝚟𝚝) 16:30, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting proposal

[edit]

I propose that section Alvin and the Chipmunks#Music be split into a separate page called Alvin and the Chipmunks (soundtrack). The content of the current page seems off-topic and the section is large enough to make their own page. 122.173.37.181 (talk) 10:34, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Lead sentence

Hello, I would like to discuss the lead sentence of the article. The current version is: Alvin and the Chipmunks is a 2007 American live-action/animated jukebox musical comedy film directed by Tim Hill from a screenplay by Jon Vitti and the writing team of Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi, and a story written by Vitti. My proposed reversion would be to remove the genres “jukebox musical” and “comedy film”, in a way that would be formatted like this: Alvin and the Chipmunks is a 2007 American live-action animated film directed by Tim Hill from a screenplay by Jon Vitti and the writing team of Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi, and a story written by Vitti. The purpose of this change would be to simplify and to avoid over detail, as many examples of the best-formatted articles (The Dark Knight) simplify their beginning sentences. Also, there have been no sources that explicitly refer to this film as a jukebox musical, and those that refer to it as a comedy film also switch between adventure film. Thoughts?
