Jackson Harris
notable artist with many national articles and reviews written about them. Toured across USA, has millions of views on YouTube and large fan base. How can this be up for deletion? -SSMNYCWIKI (talk) 18:36, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- Not done Well ssmedianyc and their affiliate accounts didn't really make that clear, somebody nominated it and it got deleted per a somewhat poor discussion. Right now it can't be undeleted here as uncontroversial, see top of page. Suggestion: wait for some fan to do it better. Or change user name, prepare a draft and go to deletion review if you see fit.--Tikiwont (talk) 19:55, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
Didn't make what clear? There were plenty of links to National articles (not sure when this was deleted but can confirm that when it was created, there were many articles posted). Where is the "somewhat poor discussion"? And how can I get a copy of the old article to add more credible things to it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by SSMNYCWIKI (talk • contribs) 20:12, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- The article mentioned newspapers and magazines but only linked to youtube and shorefire pressleases, not really using the external sources. That may not have been clear to the participants at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jackson Harris. If you commit to using one account only and a username name change, I'd restore the old one. --Tikiwont (talk) 20:22, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- This sockpuppet account of blocked user User:Ssmedianyc has been blocked for block evasion. Presumably SS Media in NYC is a press agency or other publicity outfit, since all the edits of these accounts are publicity accounts about obscure performers affiliated with an equally obscure outfit called JK Music Group. I do find a listing or two for something called SS Media Works in Brooklyn. --Orange Mike | Talk 20:27, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

As Blood Runs Black
This article was originally deleted because the band was not significant enough. At the time of it's original deletion, the band was not significant. They had released only one album and had disappeared. However, on 03/15/2011 (since the last delete), the band has released their second album. They've changed line ups and they've been touring extensively, including the Summer Slaughter Tour 2011. I believe this band now meets the criteria for a Wikipedia entry. The French wikipedia left them in: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/As_Blood_Runs_Black The german, portuguese, polish, italian and spanish wikipedias also have an article for this band. I feel like there are much smaller bands on Wikipedia and this band is getting a short stick. This article needs to be re-added. -Kevinh456 (talk) 15:43, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- Since this article was deleted through the AFD process, it is not subject to recreation here. The matter should go to WP:DRV or WP:RFPP; the former is probably more suitable. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 16:44, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Synergy Resources
The Synergy Resources page was on par with the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epicor page. Both were references for ERP software creators. If the Epicor page continues to exist, then that is an inconsistent application of the guidelines. Epicor is one example of dozens of company references that are available that were consistent with the Synergy Resources entry and the Epicor entry. If those pages remain, it is because they adhere to the guidelines and the Synergy Resources page followed suit. The "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" link referenced in the explanation of the deletion was not available, so I could not contest the deletion. Suggesting that I would use an unavailable function does not allow me to interact. Making a notification at 1:30AM (GMT -0800), then a deletion soon thereafter gives me no opportunity to respond to the nomination before it is deleted. -Dewolfe001 (talk) 15:59, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Michael Titus
reasoning -ArtLifestyle (talk) 03:36, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
My name is Daniel and the article that I wrote is about a college professor that I had at Southern Utah University. Professor Titus was my favorite teacher while I attended last semester (Fall 2011) and I was moved to include him in Wiki for his amazing work. I have seen print image after image that this man did during his career as a combat photojournalist that are nothing short of amazing. I feel my article was penalized because of my lack of experience in submitting to Wikipedia. I tried to add references to support my article but am not sure I did it correctly. Some of your comments about my article which is not autobiographical but rather from candid interviews with professor Titus that I conducted while at SUU. Mr. Titus is a well know Artist and Photographer
- Not done. This article was deleted as a result of a deletion discussion at WP:Articles for deletion/Michael Titus so, as stated at the top of this page, it will not be undeleted here, and you cannot simply put it in again. If you consider that the discussion was wrongly decided, or you have new information, you should approach administrator JamesBWatson (talk), who has protected the title against creation. Then, if your concerns are not addressed, you can go to WP:Deletion review.
- Your problem is that Wikipedia's WP:Verifiability policy requires that "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source." Your personal knowledge of Mr Titus, and information you gained from interviewing him, are original research and not an acceptable source. Also, your own opinion that his work is "amazing" does not help to meet the WP:Notability requirement for references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Finally, the whole tone of your article was promotional - an encyclopedia article should not contain opinions, just plain facts, neutrally stated and backed by reliable published sources. David Akin
There is a David Akin who is a political reporter in Ottawa, the Capital of Canada. This article basically accuses him of colluding with the Prime Minister, like "James Guckert / Jeff Gannon" colluded with George W. Bush. That one reference, alone, would not be sufficient to establish notability for David Akin, journalist. An earlier article was deleted as WP:CSD#A7, 6 years ago.
I request userification of the earlier article on David Akin, to see if it is about the same individual, as the accusation may be sufficient to push him over the edge to notability.
Oh, yeah, the administrator who deleted the article has been on wikibreak for six months. Geo Swan (talk) 08:03, 6 May 2012 (UTC) -Geo Swan (talk) 08:03, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

The trouble started last August, when Sun Media's David Akin broke ranks with the media pool. With the rest of the journalists at Rideau Hall agreeing to ask Prime Minister Stephen Harper a question about the long-form census, Akin used one of two English-language questions available to the press to ask about Catherine Frid's play Homegrown, which had just played at SummerWorks.

John Serry, Jr.
notability: A simple Google search on John Serry will confirm that I am an internationally known recording artist, pianist and composer. The search results should not be confused with my father, John Serry Sr. who was a an accordionist that worked as a local sideman for many years in the New York / Long Island area. Nearly all search results that one can find are about me and my work. (I dropped the Jr. decades ago.) My brother has written, shall we say, a very impressive representation of my father at Wikipedia. Ironically, although I am internationally known with recordings on major labels, a Grammy Nomination, and an active international career as a jazz pianist and jazz and modern classical composer, the Wikipedia article about me (written by others and slightly corrected by me after the fact) was deleted around the time that the one on my father was made. Note that of the few search results that come up about my father virtually all of them are the Wikipedia article itself or derivations of that article. In case there is any confusion, if an internet item does not have Sr. appended to the name, then it is about me, not about me father. (I have not yet found an exception to that, although one or two might exist.) In any case a careful reading of any item concerning John Serry will show that it is about me, the jazz pianist, jazz and classical composer and sometimes percussionist, rather than my father the accordionist who also played organ in a wedding chapel and wrote some (primarily accordion) music and method books. ADDENDUM: Among numerous sites in which you will find reference to me (as pianist, composer and occasionally percussionist), there are recording artist and jazz websites e.g., allmusic.com, allaboutjazz.com), websites about modern classical pieces that feature percussion (e.g.,mostlymarimba.com which publishes several of my compositions; professional and student concert and recital programs that include my works, performers discussing my works), announcements of performances of my jazz groups or of my solo piano concerts (primarily in Europe where I have been for the past 8 years), cd and lp vendors (amazon.com, cduniverse, vinyl resellers that offer my early albums), well known jazz musicians (e.g., Peter Erskine, John Riley, Bob Sheppard) in whose resume or biography I am included, major magazine websites where I have been favorably reviewed (e.g. JazzTimes), my website johnserry.com (currently under reconstruction to prepare for my new album release), professional networking sites (myspace, linkedin), numerous videos uploaded by fans and colleagues (my jazz recordings/performances and my classical works, e.g., at youtube), sites about films/videos for which I have composed the soundtracks, etc. (One of the unfortunate consequences of the deletion is that at a couple of websites that I have seen, my recordings or videos have the John Serry Sr. bio attached to them. Some sites automatically use a Wikipedia biography and think that the John Serry Sr. biography is me. This is very frustrating as my father has virtually no recordings or videos and some of mine are found with his Wikipedia biography attached.) Anyway, all of these things can be viewed online. -Jserry (talk) 13:05, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
- Not done A few issues here. First, the article John Serry Jr was deleted in November 2009. Second, this in part because it was a biography of a living person that had no references - a huge no-no. Someone (not you or anyone related to you) might have a good opportunity to create a draft article, or use articles for creation to develop an entry that is acceptable for inclusion. Note: this means it proves notability (especially under WP:MUSIC, has valid third party sources, etc. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 17:31, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

- Fair enough, but nobody seems to comment here, and besides, the Commons community is different. Isn't it easier to move them to Commons and see what happens in a possible deletion request? As I see it, the burden of proof should be higher for deletion than for keeping, and no consensus was established for the deletion in the first place. Handcuffed (talk) 22:50, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

End of American Soap Opera Era
I wonder if deleting it is a mistake. Previously, it has sources, but are they reliable enough to suffice notability of this topic? If so, it must be undeleted and then renamed to decline of soap operas in the United States. Otherwise, does this topic meet standards of notability in any way?] -George Ho (talk) 10:15, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
- Comment: it looks WP:SYNTHy to me ("Do not combine material from multiple sources to reach or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by any of the sources") - are there sources actually about the decline rather than illustrating aspects of it? As this was a PROD deletion, you can have it back just by asking, if you think something can be made of it - up to you. JohnCD (talk) 10:44, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
- If full of original research, then no need to undelete it. However, if there is at least one sentence that explicitly explains the decline of soap operas in the United States, then which ones? --George Ho (talk) 10:55, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
