Speedy deletion nomination of Dear dead valentine
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Dear dead valentine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Dori ☾Talk ⁘ Contribs☽ 08:54, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
Additionally, it appears your account is intended to be used for the purpose of telling the world about an organization or cause that you consider worthwhile. Unfortunately, many good causes are not sufficiently notable for their own Wikipedia article, and all users are discouraged from editing in any area where they have an inherent conflict of interest, though you may wish to consider one of these alternative outlets. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

below this notice. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 09:18, 30 April 2012 (UTC)I'm sorry, but if you are looking for somewhere to establish "the official wiki" of your band where your fans can "visit this page for research about the band", you need a site like Myspace which will let you set up your own page and write what you like on it. That is not what Wikipedia is for: it is not a social-networking site, it is a project to build an encyclopedia, and that means:
- It is selective about article subjects: see WP:BAND for what a band need to have achieved before having an article,
- Users are discouraged from writing about themselves, or their bands, or any subject where they have a WP:Conflict of interest,
- Wikipedia article are not "official wikis" - they are not owned by their authors, and least of all by their subjects,
- Wikipedia is not here to tell the world about your noble cause.
