We As Human

"I would like to open an undeletion discussion about an article I created about the band We As Human. File:We As Human.jpeg I can prove that they meet the WP:MUSIC, WP:GNG & WP:BAND criteria. They are a very notable rock band signed to a MAJOR music label (Atlantic Records) and have been on national television for years, i.e., xbox commercials, music channels, television interviews on frequent rotation, etc. They recently finished the winterjam Tour that afterwards took the #1 position on the tour charts - which meet the WP:GOODCHARTS criteria - for the first quarter! http://instagr.am/p/JQWDcpCnmU/

I'm not sure why this article was actually deleted. The researched cited in the deletion discussion was poor and unfounded at best. I feel it is mostly discriminatory since We As Human is known as a christian band. This was, I believe, a simple case of poor wikipedian academics and anti-religious bigotry"

Not done. This article was deleted as a result of the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/We As Human so, as stated at the head of this page, it will not be undeleted here. If you consider that the discussion was wrongly decided, or you have new information, you should approach user Ron Ritzman (talk), the administrator who closed the discussion. Then, if your concerns are not addressed, you can go to WP:Deletion review.
Please read WP:No personal attacks and comment on content rather than making assumptions about the motives of other contributors. Accusations of bigotry will not help your case. JohnCD (talk) 09:24, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

Digital workplace

this page explains what the phrase digital workplace means. It is a growing subject. I started the page last year and it has been edited and improved by other contributors since then. I can't understand why you propose to delete this page. If you can contact me by email at {redacted) with more details and anything that can be done I will try to do so. I was only informed by someone this morning because they knew I created the page. Thanks, Mark Morrell -86.173.152.167 (talk) 08:20, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

Delta II/III Launch Vehicle Family

If I remember correctly, this article was prodded about six years ago, when I was somewhat inexperienced, because it duplicated the scope of other articles. I can't remember whether I prodded it myself, or simply agreed with someone else's prod which should have been contested, but in hindsight, as a more experienced editor, I realise that the correct course of action would have been to merge it into Delta (rocket family) instead, leaving the article as a redirect so that it's history would be available. I am therefore requesting that it be undeleted so that this merger may be performed. -W. D. Graham 11:38, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

This article was deleted because the administrators overlooked 3rd party reliable sources that were better actually than the administrator's research seemed to show.

Additional online references will be cited to support the notability of songwriter John Austin.

The information contained in the article "John Austin (songwriter)" is factual. John Austin meets the notability requirements, having worked with many artists of notability, having received favorable reviews by international magazines (such as Paste Magazine), and having released publicly documented works for over 20 years. Paste Magazine has written feature articles on John Austin, and JA's album "Busted at the Pearly Gates" received an honorable mention in Paste Magazine as one of the most important albums of 2002. Please contact Paste Magazine's editor-in-chief Josh Jackson to verify.

Please undelete the article "John Austin (songwriter)".

Thank you.

Let's not forget that they were advised of the same thing at WP:ANI (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 20:14, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

The problem is that the article should not have been deleted in the first place. The reason given for deleting the article was the name "John Austin" was too common. There are 20 years of references to the work of John Austin from album credits to credible national magazine reviews -- which can be cited legally. The research seems to have overlooked a few sources, including an editorial from Paste Magazine's editor-in-chief, Josh Jackson:

http://www.pastemagazine.com/high_gravity/2008/08/paste-favorites-with-new-records.html

Paste Magazine issue #2 has a feature article on John Austin, and also includes one of his songs on that issue's CD sampler.

www.pastemagazine.com/images/samplersleeves/Issue2.pdf

Another Paste article features an interview with John Austin on his thoughts about late songwriter Mark Heard:

http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2003/07/mark-heard.html

The article "John Austin (songwriter)" has been in existence for many years. While some of the past links may have broken over time, there are numerous sources that can be found with a little more research.

This article was deleted because the administrators overlooked 3rd party reliable sources that were better actually than the administrator's research seemed to show.

Would someone please help us work through the undeletion process?

shazzie

You recently deleted the page Shazzie which I believe to be in error. Your comments were that "it was self promotional and that you can't call yourself a TV presenter if all you've done is record an 8 min clip for an obscure…" This information is incorrect. Shazzie is a writer, TV presenter and recording artist. She has contracts with publishers both in the UK as well as the USA. Her TV show is in the final editing stages and is due to be aired soon throughout Europe. If you take issue with the TV show not being live yet, then of course remove that and it can be added again once aired, and even query anything that you find "self promotional". Shazzie is a recognised published author and I am requesting that you please undelete the page. I look forward to your reply. Thanks for your time. -Scribble64 (talk) 16:04, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

I have no idea why this article was deleted. Nicolas Kent was Artistic Director of the Tricycle Theatre in London between 1984- 2012 and appears in WHO's WHO. I found a discussion from 2006 discussing deletion with a resolution of disambiguating that Multiply.com is different than multiply (as in multiplication), but I couldn't find any reason given there as to why it was deleted in 2010 or 2011 (I'm not sure when it was actually removed). The website/company is still going strong and is one of the few (if not only, though some of the shop sites are slowly becoming more social) social networking sites that enables people to sell products (their own or others) through a fully functional social networking system. The company is also moving its offices to Southeast Asia which I think shows an interesting shift in how social media is being used in various places around the globe. I don't work for Multiply. I've just been using the site since 2004 and was surprised to see that though it was the first to have a feed (like Facebook's feed, only Multiply had it years before them) and though it was the first to include audio and video replies (among several other firsts) it's not even got a mention on the social networking list page any more. What gives? -Barefootmeg (talk) 15:10, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

As you can see when you try to view the article, it was deleted because it was written as an advertisement. That doesn't mean it was not-notable, but when it reads like advertising copy, there's no possible way for it to remain (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 15:34, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Speedy undelete and trout slap (if not whale slap) UtherSRG for deleting this. It existed for 6 years before deletion, had survived AFD, there were old version of the article that didn't suffer from the advertisement-speak, the article wasn't "exclusively promotional" (as WP:CSD#G11 requries), and even if all of these hadn't been true, it could have been stubified. Magog the Ogre (talk) 16:26, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
How do I view the article? Is there a way to see something that's been deleted? The person who first wrote the article was a Multiply employee, so he was understandably biased. But I thought I had modified what he had done enough to give information without it being advertising. There's all sorts of firsts that Multiply achieved that I never had the chance to add, simply not having the time. What is the next step to bringing it back? -Barefootmeg (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 19:54, 22 May 2012 (UTC).
Done Restored latest reasonably stable version from 2010, after which mostly spam by single purpose accounts or updated alexa rankings. Will need work and vigilance, though. Best --Tikiwont (talk) 20:20, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Thanks, Tikiwont! I'll try to get it updated soon. Barefootmeg (talk) 22:28, 23 May 2012 (UTC)barefootmeg

Astral Projection (band)

Someone on IRC helped me restore the page Astral Projection (band) (or perhaps Astral Projection (group)) to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Oskar_Liljeblad/Astral_Projection_(band). I have since then made one reference, added a sentence, and added another reference. I could manually update the page but the person who helped me said it would be good if the history could be restored as well, and that would require an administrator. -Oskar Liljeblad (talk) 19:39, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

I don't see anything there that even hints at notability, especially as per WP:MUSIC (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 19:47, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
It's hard to find references on the net. I've added the ones I found. They are one of the biggest trance/goa acts. They're noted on Wikipedia in many other languages, but even on those pages references are mainly missing. I don't know what else to do... Oskar Liljeblad (talk) 05:15, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
Some semi-reliable source ([[1]]) claim their album reached #2 on Israel album chars in 1995... Unfortunately there is a huge lack of reliable sources on the subject. Oskar Liljeblad (talk) 16:37, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
I have added more sources now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oskar Liljeblad (talkcontribs) 17:04, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
History under Astral Projection (group) restored. As it actually has bee prodded under that title, remaning notability concerns should setteld at AfD--Tikiwont (talk) 20:29, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

It's not appropriate as an article - and was deleted almost 2-1/2 years ago. Is there parts of it that you need e-mailed to you? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 20:12, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Not done There is nothing to refund as the deleted article has alrady been restored to User:Giuseppe Martucciello and that would be the only purpose of this board here. Whilst Wikipedia needs subject matter experts, conflict of interest is also to consider. As the person might be notable enough, you may want to check Wikipedia:Articles for creation --Tikiwont (talk) 19:44, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

List of Mobile Fighter G Gundam episodes

This page was deleted about a year ago, as far as I know (which admittedly is fairly little in terms of why this article was deleted) the article was simply an episode guide for the anime Mobile Fighter G Gundam. The logs show that it was deleted March 6, after an expiration of Proposed deletion. I have looked around to see if there was any discussion about it (just to be absolutely sure). The Log entry for the article's deletion is as follows:

00:26, 6 March 2011 Explicit (talk | contribs) deleted page List of Mobile Fighter G Gundam episodes (Expired PROD, concern was: Unclear, unsourced. What is the subject?)

I'd very much appreciate if this article could be restored, or in the case that there is not enough content to avoid deletion in the future, I will be more than happy to add more to the article. -GokuSS400 (talk) 02:57, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

It was a list ... of one. It was unsourced. Not sure what else is going to help (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:05, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Talk:Mageia

Article page recreated on 20 May 2012‎ at Mageia. --- Trevj (talk) 08:20, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

  •  Not done As you stated, the article was re-created. As such, the contents of the talkpage when it was deleted has little relevance to the current re-creation. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:02, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Sorry, I conflicted with you Bwilkins and restored it. There wasn't much on the talk page in this case, but my thinking was that in general it is useful to restore the talk page so that previous discussions about the article can be reviewed by other editors. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 10:04, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
OK, so will it be deleted again? Is it stated policy that talk pages won't be restored if the article is recreated rather than undeleted? Anything of little relevance can always be archived.
Anyway, can I safely add some WikiProject tags to the page, please? Thanks. -- Trevj (talk) 12:40, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
You could have done that before its restoral - as you can see, the contents are not useful, hence my decision NOT to undelete. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:49, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. Yes, I know I could have done that. But I didn't know whether the page contained valid discussions or not. It didn't seem to be a good idea to create a new page containing WikiProject banners if the deleted page contained relevant material. Sorry to drag this out but I'd just like to know whether the talk page is likely to be imminently deleted again (I understand that if the article is deleted in the future, the talk page will follow). (And regarding whether the contents are useful, the statement by Crxssi "it is good practice to state what you are doing and *why*. This can be done in the box called "Edit summary" and possibly also here" could indeed be useful to whoever the message was directed at.) Anyway, I've now included the banners on the old page and hope that's OK. Thanks. -- Trevj (talk) 14:29, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Tamara Brooks

reasoning -LeonardoCiampa (talk) 11:23, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Tamara Brooks was one of the most important female conductors and one of the most important choral conductors of her time. It was surprising to me to read the questioning of her "importance" when the article clearly demonstrated her widespread international successes. See also here: http://necmusic.edu/tamara-brooks-1941-2012 I consider this deletion to be in error. LeonardoCiampa (talk) 11:23, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

reasoning -Cspar.css (talk) 12:20, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I see the request for deletion due to advertising of company. I was not finished with the page. I was hoping to have some time to fix some things- per the guidelines. This company is very important in creation of tools for preaching in past 40 years and should be made note of on Wikipedia. I will work on complying with guidelines as best as possible and remove anything that appears to be advertising. I only meant page to be informational. I just imported alot of things from other places, which were meant for advertising- therein lies the error. Please give me some time to make these changes. Thanks, cspar.css

The Chapel Studios

We wish to have the article reinstated as it is a key source of advertising, it provides a key understanding of the history, the facilities we provide and what we do at Chapel Studios. There is no false/foul content on the article; it simply states facts about our organisation, and references projects that Chapel Studios have been associated with. So if you could please reinstate the article, it would be much appreciated. - Chapel Studios — Preceding unsigned comment added by StevenChapelWilliams (talkcontribs) 15:50, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

{{subst:refund|1= The Chapel Studios |2= I have just recently started at the Chapel Studios and have misinformed you. I quite frequently look at wikipedia for information and was quick to realise that there wasn't an article about the studios. • Not done - As announced at the top of the page, this process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially and has no applicability to articles deleted after any deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/The_Chapel_Studios, it cannot be undeleted through this process. Nevertheless, if you believe that the consensus found at the discussion was in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion. After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 17:49, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

Punch Sulzberger Award

The prod placer didn't bother to leave a heads-up on my talk page, and I only became aware of the prod now. The justification was "total lack of notability" -- which I would have disputed. Granted, the award is not as notable as a pullitzer. Only those working for a paper in the New York Times group are eligible. But the NYTimes owns regional papers all over the world, so this is a large pool of journalists.

Because it has been a while, I request userification, not restoration to article space. -Geo Swan (talk) 18:21, 25 May 2012 (UTC) Geo Swan (talk) 18:21, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
