Information icon Hello, I'm Qwerty Binary. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Blessed thistle with lamb, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.

Warnings

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did to Saray helva, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. This also applies to Shekarpareh.

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to introduce inappropriate pages to Wikipedia, as you did at Ramadan pita, you may be blocked from editing. If you need guidance on how to create appropriate pages, try using the Article Wizard. This also applies to Pumpkin Dessert, which also has stylistic issues. --Qwerty Binary (talk) 06:38, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Haleva, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Circassian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Speedy deletion nomination of Beyaz Kelebekler

[edit]

Hello Samizambak,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Beyaz Kelebekler for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. TRL (talk) 03:28, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Sevada Grigoryan, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.paintingsilove.com/artist/sevadagrigoryan.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. A tag has been placed on Sevada Grigoryan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.paintingsilove.com/artist/sevadagrigoryan. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. MER-C 11:37, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Samizambak, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to Cretan cuisine has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Dougweller (talk) 21:51, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Fennel with lamb has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability by our criteria at WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Ways to improve Zafer Önen

[edit]

Hi, I'm Schwindy. Samizambak, thanks for creating Zafer Önen!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Work on expanding your article. The only biographical information you have is his dates of birth & death. Expand upon that by using more sources other than IMDB - make this more than just a list of films he's been in. Thanks! Schwindy (talk)

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Schwindy (talk) 06:28, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Please stop spamming music-related articles with dubious, poorly-sourced claims. --Omnipaedista (talk) 15:56, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The name derives from pandur, a Sumerian term for long-necked lutes.[1] Source of our knowledge about this instrument is since the ancient Greek Mantineia marble (4th century BC), now exhibited at National Archaeological Museum of Athens, depicting the mythical contest between Apollo and Marsyas, where Greek Pandouris is being played by a muse seated on a rock.[2] Lutes have been present in ancient Greece.[3] They were also present in Mesopotamia since the Akkadian era, or the third millennium BCE.[4]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.

Here is what a reliable source says.[1], Mauricio Molina's book Frame Drums in the Medieval Iberian Peninsula says "10 While it is also possible that the term pandero derived from the latin adjective pandus (curved, bent), the most current theory based on phonetic development from Latin to Spanish sustains that the word pandero comes instead from pandura pandorius. It also has been explained that the term pandura itself derived from the Sumarian pandur or pardur (little bow), which suggests that the pandura was an instrument that evolved fiom some kind of musical bow. However, these words are never used in theSumerian literature in connection with musical instruments. See H G Farmer. "An Early Greek Pandorw," in The Science of Music in Islam. ed Ehckhard Neubauer (Frankfurt Institute for the History of Arabic-Islamic Science at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University. 1997), 2/301. Organologists have commonly identified the pandura as a kind of Greco-Roman lute Their conjecture is based on the description by Pollux of Naucratis (second century A. D) of the instrument us a tricHOEdon (instalment of three strings) The panSuta is rarely found in GrWco-Roman literature or musical iconography. It was comprised of a long, thick fingerboard and a small resonating body. Representations in late Roman sarcophagi indicate that the instrumet had three strings or more and was plucked with either fingers or a plectrum, It is also important to take into consideration that both Marcianus Capella and Isidore of Seville identify the pandorius with a wind instrument made out of cane. Isidore, quoting Virgil (Eel. 2.321, further ascribes the instrument's invention to the god Pan. and" - so the article title is ok, just the content is rubbish. :) Dougweller (talk) 17:22, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Misuse of sources

[edit]

The pdf by Andrij Hornjatkevyè is just that, a pdf someone named Andrij Hornjatkevyè wrote and put on the web, fails WP:RS by a mile. Farmer is a reliable source and you are misusing him. Sure, he says "it has been surmised" but he makes it clear that "no such words have come down to us in Sumerian which actually indicate an instrument of music." Now you must have read that so it seems pretty obvious you are misusing this source. If you think Farmer actually supports your claim, take it to WP:RSN. If you don't do this and continue to make such claims I will conclude that you are just editing disruptively and take you to WP:ANI. Dougweller (talk) 17:07, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Vallja e cobanit has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of how this might meet notability guidelines. Lacks citations to significant coverage in reliable sources.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Did you remove that Turkish cuisine. Why? Greek dessert is not valid in the following sources?--Samizambak (talk) 22:39, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You use sources in a quite bizarre way. You are supposed to find reliable sources that back up your claims. Websites that host recipes are not reliable sources on the history of food. --Omnipaedista (talk) 00:52, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Most (if not all) of the external links above do not generally qualify as reliable sources. It all depends on what kind of claim you want to support. Reliability criteria can be a bit more lax if the statement concerns a trivial matter of fact, such as the ingredients of a recipe; cookbooks may be sufficient for backing up trivial claims. However, statements about the alternative names of foods or the history of food in general should be properly sourced. --Omnipaedista (talk) 08:56, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Turkey Ministry of Culture, the provinces do not have enough evidence of food research. According to you from spam happening.--Samizambak (talk) 09:03, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Mass insertion of external links that are used in a way that misleads the reader to thinking that certain claims are validated by sources (when in fact they are not) is disruptive editing. --Omnipaedista (talk) 09:11, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I do not doubt that it is eaten in that province. However, the way you used your source was inappropriate. You indicated [6] Turkey as the place of origin of this food. You need a reliable source for that claim. Furthermore, you violated WP:INTEGRITY by sloppily placing your source in the lead. --Omnipaedista (talk) 09:56, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Teke zortlatmasi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

Please read WP:NOTDIC. Creating article stubs like Shiksaray, Kasap havasi and various other stubs that you have created do not require additional independent article, if they can be merged with other main articles of the same topic. For example, I have merged articles Shiksaray, Kasap havasi into Turkish dance. Merging articles is a tedious task. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Caucasian armpit drum. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Nagara (drum). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Nagara (drum) – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Yintan  20:38, 9 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Nikos Oikonomidis (violinists)

[edit]

Hi, I'm Sjö. Samizambak, thanks for creating Nikos Oikonomidis (violinists)!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. It would be great if you added more sources to Nikos Oikonomidis (violinists), to show that he is notable per Wikipedia standards.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Sjö (talk) 10:52, 24 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nikos Oikonomidis and his music

[edit]

Hi! Thanks for your work adding Nikos Oikonomidis and his music. The articles are good examples of wikiformatting and using infoboxes. However, I question that the artist and his music are notable enough for their own articles. Please see Wikipedia:Notability (music) and explain how he and his music is notable. As far as I can see, there isn't even articles in the Greek Wikipedia, and the sources are not independent from the artist. I also noted that many of the sources you use as references don't support the statements they are supposed to source. Please find sources that support the statements in the article, and don't use misleading sourcing. Sjö (talk) 11:12, 26 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Sjö. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Ni ke Dre ‎, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Most of the sources you added recently to various articles don't even mention the statement they are attached to, or they are non-reliable sources. Sjö (talk) 06:52, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewed articles

[edit]

Hi,

I've just reviewed the 86 articles you created which were in the pending new pages feed.

Unfortunately, there are multiple issues with most of them. The three main issues are:

  1. Notability. These articles may fail WP:NMUSIC due to the lack of sources and content, both of which are issues in their own right.
  2. Grammar. Nearly all of the articles had incorrect spacing. While I understand this may be difficult for new users, you might want to rectify these. I have done the first ten or so, you can copy and do the rest.
  3. Completely unreferenced articles. A few of your articles are totally devoid of references in any form which means we cannot verify the claims made nor the notability in and of such articles.

Please reply here and ping me in using {{ping|DrStrauss}} if you require any further assistance.

Thank you,

Speedy deletion nomination of İzmir Bomb Kurabiye

[edit]

Hello Samizambak,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged İzmir Bomb Kurabiye for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Turkish pasta companies Samizambak (talk) 18:09, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Turkish pasta companies indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! A tag has been placed on Balparmak tatlısı requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.greece10best.com/melomakarona/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. There are wrong links to the languages related to the kadaif page. They are all mixed up. I tried to fix them. I will fix the link again from the Turkish wikipedia. Kadayif dolması is a variant of kadayif. It connects with the kadayif page.

Kataif, known as flat kadayif in Turkish,
It is one of the examples that can be shown as an example of Arab-Turkish cuisine interaction. Flat
The type of kadayif that has been filled and fried with walnuts and sugar since the 10th century.
It is still done in Malatya and Hatay provinces (Isin, 2018).

To be unblocked

[edit]

Hi! I understand from your comment above that you copied Kadayıf noodles from Simple Wikipedia – is that correct? If so, I will restore that page. Because of the terms of our Creative commons licence, WP:Copying within Wikipedia always requires attribution for the work of the editors who created the content (this applies to translations as well as direct copying). If that attribution is not provided your edits are likely to be reverted or deleted, as happened here – I'm sorry, but how were we to guess where it was taken from?

I'm prepared to consider unblocking your account if you will do this: go through all of your edits, and list here, on this page, any of them where you copied or translated content from another Wikipedia article (yes, that's quite a lot of work). If there are other articles that were deleted because of unattributed copying, list them too – it may be possible to restore them. If I'm satisfied that your list is substantially complete, I'll unblock your account on condition that you then make sure that the copying is attributed in every case (I'll show you how to do that, of course). Is that acceptable? – please let me know! Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:40, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
