With reference to the [move request], I noted you have done the move with Sakiv giving a reason as The move was a mistake. I originally move the page as per typical breaking the pages into each decade (as per Template:Football results AFC). How could a simple, The move was a mistake, when Sakiv is not the original editor to move the page, request the move without further discussion and confirmation when the previous move is less than 12 hours? --Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 01:30, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The move is correct and regarding the timespan there is no consensus on that yet. Articles such as Australia have a 20-year period also, so Singapore is no exception. You can bring up the topic on the WikiProject. You are the one who started merging an article that I created about 20 days ago without even opening a discussion.--Sakiv (talk) 02:08, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have no opinion on contents, but agree with Sakiv on procedure: it was a recent undiscussed move and as such can be reverted, so you'll need to find consensus for it at a talk page. Lennart97 (talk) 09:12, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

FC Zhenis and FC Ekibastuz

[edit]

Can you help to move the page Football Club Zhenis to FC Zhenis for abbreviation? And Football Club Ekibastuz to FC Ekibastuz for the same reason. Thanks a lot!

@0716pyhao: Both done. Don't forget to WP:SIGN your messages! Lennart97 (talk) 11:47, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yury Syomin and Mirlan Murzayev

[edit]

Can you help to move the page Yury Syomin (footballer) to Yury Syomin? The disambiguation is not needed as the redirect page links to a page with exact the same name. And Mirlan Murzayev (footballer) to Mirlan Murzayev for the same reason. Thanks a lot!

Gyros

[edit]

Hi Lennart, and welcome back, hadn't seen you here for a while. I just wanted to check whether you did this move because you actually agree with the outcome of the non-admin closure, or just because you thought I wasn't actually contesting it (which I was!). Dr. Vogel (talk) 19:27, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dr. Vogel, thanks for dropping by! I did the move because it was a well-reasoned close by an editor in good standing, which makes it (if I read WP:NAC correctly) just as valid as an admin close. As such, it is not our place to refuse the move just because the closer does not have the technical ability to do so themselves. The proper venue to contest the close is Wikipedia:Move review, after taking it up with the closer first of course. Lennart97 (talk) 19:34, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah ok. Yeah, I thought he would reply under my comment. But anyway, it looks like I'm the only person who disagrees with this, so it's probably ok. I wouldn't want to waste people's time by taking it to Move Review. I'm not questioning that the editor is in good standing. I just don't quite agree with the reasoning.
I don't know if it's actually part of the role or not, I have seen very experienced editors speak about this role including some form of sanity check. But of course it's a bit of a gray area as to what exactly that entails.
Thanks for explaining! Dr. Vogel (talk) 19:52, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

New York Giants

[edit]

According to the RfC, History of the New York Giants (baseball) needs to be moved to New York Giants (baseball). The previous move from today is incorrect. Best, --Discographer (talk) 21:14, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Discographer: I performed the move as requested by Bison X, who noted "(baseball)" is an inappropriate DAB since there are 2 baseball teams (New York Giants (Players' League)). Lennart97 (talk) 21:17, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That other team played for one season only and is non-notable; that DAB is fine though. You can get an admin to make the move to the correct place for you. Best, --Discographer (talk) 21:23, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I really have no opinion on this. Could you discuss it with Bison X? Thanks! Lennart97 (talk) 21:25, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects for History of the Cleveland Rams

[edit]

History of the Cleveland Rams redirects to Cleveland Rams, which seems right, but Talk:History of the Cleveland Rams redirects to Talk:Los Angeles Rams, which seems odd. Shouldn't it redirect to Talk:Cleveland Rams? -- Pemilligan (talk) 22:41, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Pemilligan: That does seem odd! Thanks, I've fixed it. Lennart97 (talk) 10:18, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for page/direct fix

[edit]

Thank you for your page move assist with Kyle Chapman (activist). Your solution -- putting "(activist)" to point to the disambig page was an even better solution than what I suggested. Much appreciated. 73.254.89.77 (talk) 18:06, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! When there is no primary topic, redirecting to the main disambiguation page is the norm. Lennart97 (talk) 19:37, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Bruce Liu (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Aleksey Baga and Munas Dabbur

[edit]

Can you help to move the page Aleksey Baga (footballer) to Aleksey Baga as the disambiguation is not needed? And Mu'nas Dabbur to Munas Dabbur for similar reason. Thanks a lot! 0716pyhao (talk) 03:12, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@0716pyhao: I see Aleksey Baga has already been done by someone else. As for Mu'nas Dabbur, the current title was decided on by consensus on the talk page, so you'll have to start a new discussion if you want to change the name. Lennart97 (talk) 09:16, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Assisting a block-evading sockpuppet

[edit]

You can do what you think is best with this information, but the editor whose edits you've restored at this diff] is a block-evading sockpuppet of User:KC626266. (As for consistency, you could also make the other capitals' short descriptions consistent with Santa Fe's, but I'm just stretching a point.) Largoplazo (talk) 21:32, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Edit-warring block

[edit]
Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked temporarily from editing for edit warring, as you did at Prime. My decision to block you immediately, rather than warn you at this stage, was influenced by the fact that you yourself had posted a warning about edit-warring to another editor involved, thus showing that you were certainly aware that what you were involved in was an edit-war. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  JBW (talk) 20:17, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

My apologies. I thought I was in my right as I was not breaking 3RR and was reverting an undiscussed bold move and frustration over the other user's response probably somewhat clouded my judgement. I realize now that I was nonetheless participating in an edit-war and should have awaited a response to the talk page message I left instead of making another revert. Because I am indeed familiar with the guidelines and will not continue to edit war, I don't think a 48-hour block is at this point beneficial to the encyclopedia. Lennart97 (talk) 20:48, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

That's exactly what we need to hear. Unblocked. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 22:08, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bolding titles

[edit]

Hello. Thanks for moving the Mya pages I listed, but regarding your edit to Mya discography, per MOS:BOLDLINKAVOID, we should not bold linked articles, and per MOS:BOLD, since Mya does not redirect there, it is not considered an appropriate use of bold and does not meet any of the examples listed at MOS:BOLDLEAD. The majority of bolding on discographies has or is in the process of being removed for being inappropriate per these guidelines. Thanks. Ss112 23:06, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Noted, thanks for letting me know. Lennart97 (talk) 23:24, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Random uplift of Dakota

[edit]

Regarding your edit comment, I get the unsourced issue, there should have been a reference to any of a number of secondary sources on the north and south termini.

But "random"? No. I really don't see the necessity for the extra effort of calling it "random". I checked the points. The north point was spot on the hogback, at a latitude I would not be surprised to be the point where the hogback is lost under later sediments (from the aerials, that looks to be the case, but that would be OR on my part). The given southern point is not as obvious you would hope. Without going to the geology maps, the hogback would disappear somewhere around there as the eruption of the Spanish Peaks would have obscured the exposure.

I drove US 160 just two summers ago, and I took pictures of the hogback just south of the deleted coordinate. So ...

  • Random? No.
  • Needed a citation? Yes.

Should I restore the deleted termini with appropriate citation?

User:Chris Light might remember where they got the coordinates.

IveGoneAway (talk) 21:58, 2 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the misunderstanding - my comment "seemingly randomly placed" refers to how coordinates are not supposed to just be placed at the top of an article like that. If they're relevant information, it should be possible to incorporate them into the article body in a meaningful way. No objection to doing that if you can find a source.
