Speedy Deletion of Kartar Singh (Professor)

  1. I seek your help to guide me for donating article text ,which collaborator of May article text Gurmat Sangeet Project, who is a new user , and owner of text at SikhNet , wants to donate to Wikipedia this text. There will be no copyright issue for this text.

Other reasons for removing deletion tag I have given in talk page of article as under:

“This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here)

  1. Subject is very notable as it is about recipient of fourth highest award Padma Shree of Indian Goveronment . I do not think that any promotional material is put in article. Article describes only qualities of subject person which can work as inspiration to any hard working laborious person in Gurbani Sangeet field , which has been recognised as a field of Indian classical music by Sangeet Natak Akademy of India which has accorded fellowship to subject person.
  2. Regarding copyright infringement, I have to say that article matter text has been written with a collaborative effort with Gurmat Sangeet Legend who is owner of text which he has simultaneously contributed to designated SikhNet site. Said user is ready to donate his text to Wikipedia . Please explain procedure which can be followed for donation of text to Wikipedia.

under these circumstances I request that Article should not be deleted.—-Guglani (talk) 18:36, 24 February 2022 (UTC)”Guglani (talk) 18:54, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Guglani (talk) 19:35, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

There's a whole host of problems here. 1.) nothing was ever donated 2.) it was a raging advertisement 3.) I suggest you and the other user read WP:COI and abide by our policy. CUPIDICAE💕 19:36, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
First of I have due regards for concerns raised here.I deal with these one by one.
  1. ’nothing was ever donated ‘ , it is very clear when I am seeking help “how to donate?”.
  1. Regarding raging advertisement , what kind of advertisement it is? When there is no material gain on any of material placed there ,even YouTube links are placed for convenience of those users to freely access classically sung material by such an expert subject singer without making account or paying any amount, with sangeet natak fellowship award , which is just as famous award as Grammy’s award in western pop music.I think WP:COI is unnecessarily applied here , when actually there is no personal gain, material or any other , to contributing users. When academicians and universities have produced PhD thesis about subject , it is clear subject is ‘Notable’ . There could have been some honorific words written some where in article that text can be agreed to be improved if some Wikipedia user have patience to suggest that.Otherwise I think it is not a good use of administrative powers to remove such well sourced article which could have been of much use to Wikipedia users.I seek restoration after addressing agreed issues , and providing draft text back to users which has also been removed by deleting subpage at talk page of Gurmat Sangeet Legend. A lot of time has been invested in developing this draft page.I correct my earlier comment of Gurmat Sangeet Project to read as Gurmat Sangeet Legend—Guglani (talk) 01:33, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

why. just why. I reparaphrased everything and removed parts that seemed to close. Why dude.ADHD and i hate speedy accusations of bs ChiserYT (talk) 14:51, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

Apparently you did not rephrase things enough. You are more than welcome to try again, though. One thing I have found helpful in the past is to take the information you want, distil it down to an outline, and then use that outline to write the prose; since you are working off the outline you are less likely (even unintentionally) to end up copying the original content. Primefac (talk) 14:54, 25 February 2022 (UTC) (talk page stalker)
You did not rephrase it, it was nearly word for word identical. Your logic behind copyright is also flawed, so I suggest you cease copying and pasting anything to Wikipedia until you have a better grasp of what our copyright policy is. Having ADHD is irrelevant - many of us do but that doesn't mean we get a free pass to break policy. CUPIDICAE💕 16:11, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

i didn't copy and paste. also, like i said. adhd is part of my signature tag. i didnt use it as an excuse. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChiserYT (talkcontribs) 20:23, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

Targeting me

May I ask why that, instead of helping me fix my problems, you instead use a copyposta that barely helps at all, and one of them litterally contradicts itself, and if that isnt bad enough, I feel like you are going out of your way to target me and go through my stuff to find whatever you can to label as violations. Let alone ruining several hours of work and jumping to conclusions about copyright, on a multi, public user blog. Leave me alone or actually help. ChiserYT (talk) 20:08, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

Well the signature button wasnt working so i kinda spammed it, waited a bit then after no changes on my screen, hit publish. apearntly, they did registure, every. Singe. CLICK. But when i try and remove it, it removes the entire message. select then ctrl+x does it too, even if i only select the signatures. So idk what to do about that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Im only gunna press it once this time, and if it doesnt do anything, oh well. ADHD and i hate speedy accusations of bs ChiserYT (talk) 20:18, 25 February 2022 (UTC) Hey it worked. Removal of false positive edit filter report

Hey! I noticed that you removed an IPs false positive report (which wasn't actually a false positive) without explaining why. Why did you do so? There's a template for when the edit is vandalism. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:30, 28 February 2022 (UTC)

Because responding to a pointless continued vandalism EF request is pointless. This isn't my first rodeo. We don't have to entertain every silly, mal-intentioned request at the ef board. CUPIDICAE💕 20:31, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
Alright sounds good. Just found it a bit odd that you removed it. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:33, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
@Blaze Wolf: Prax is just old school. This is basically how we all used to do it, because the bot used to keep a permanent archive, and keeping these forever was silly. Please continue to remove trolling or BLP-violating requests. As to other clearly bad-faith requests, it's a matter of preference. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 20:41, 28 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi Praxidicae, I noticed you cited sources unreliable as reason for declining this draft. Could this have been a mistake? Because I used several reliable sources such as this Vanguard (Nigeria), this The Guardian (Nigeria), this TheCable and several others.

You also added a paid tag, I can confirm I wasn't paid. In my own opinion, the CEO of one of Nigeria biggest banks by asset who has multiple reliable and independent sources should have an entry in Wikipedia.

On the entry looking like an advertisement, I will edit it again per Wikipedia guidelines and policy which I ensured I followed initially when creating it. best regards Swankeyy (talk) 07:11, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

  • (talk page stalker), Swankeyy, I have declined the draft as well, and my rationale is in synergy with Praxidicae's action. I’m sorry but being the “CEO of one of Nigeria's biggest bank by assets” is unfortunately not referenced as a yardstick to ascertain notability for any biographical article. Furthermore, no, an abundance of press releases or short announcements is referred to as churnalism. See WP:IS it is stated there. On the issue of possible paid editing I also uphold the stance of Praxidicae, in the very least this has all the trappings of an WP:APPARENTCOI. Celestina007 (talk) 21:14, 28 February 2022 (UTC)

Hey, I have done all the required formalities and things for article Varanasi City Police Commissionerate. I have added and edited information and added required citations form authentic sources, you can see to it. Now it is ready to be a article so please remove it from deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shane Editor (talkcontribs) 17:23, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi Praxidicae,

The page (Pickwood Magazine) is not unambiguously promotional, because it doesn’t promote and entity neither a person. The references there are related to the content which I don’t see as promotional.

I have changed the part that I feel it’s promotional but If there’s still any promotional information in it. Please kindly help me highlight it or point out so that I can rectify it and be considered for not speedily deletion.

Articles Marked For Deletion

I have updated the article for NorthEast ComicCon & Collectibles Extravaganza since it's still in the discussion process, so if you could please go back and look it over, you'll see it's much better now. And if you still have issues with the article, could you please go over what exactly is needed to define a Comic Convention, because there would need to be A LOT of the smaller, less notable conventions removed off of Wikipedia before this one is. If you could please remove it from deletion, that would be awesome. Unfortunately, the other page I've been editing, Gary Sohmers is no longer there, and seems was never even given a chance to be discussed. You flagged it as plagiarism, saying I stole the entire article from Sohmers' IMDB page, but it can't be considered plagiarism when the Wikipedia was up first, and the IMDB page was a copy and paste from the Wikipedia article. Seeing as how that article has already been deleted, I'm not sure how we can go about fixing that issue. Maybe we can work together on this? Thank you for you time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rocknrollhippie (talkcontribs) 17:40, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

I still maintain my nomination and the fact that you wrote the biography on imdb and here is even more problematic. Please read WP:COI before editing any further. CUPIDICAE💕 17:43, 2 March 2022 (UTC)
It's not a conflict of interest. I pick people and I write about them using sources on the internet. How is that a problem? Based off the rest of your Talk Page, it seems like the problem is that you make swift assumptions without trying to work with people to help edit the problematic pages. Rocknrollhippie (talk) 21:51, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

Las Cruces Academy will not be deleted under any circumstances

Gay lives matter

I know you are a strong advocate of BLM and so am I. I am also a very strong advocate of GLM. I search the internet for people who are gay and who have been very successful in the lives. I then do in-depth research about them and write articles about their achievements. One such article is Bospar, a highly successful communications company, where one of the co-founders is gay. I wrote a Wikipedia article titled ‘Bospar’ which you have moved to draftspace. You have also placed an “undisclosed paid” tag on it. I am not paid and the many hours I spend on these articles is because of my passion to support gay rights. I have also noticed that an in-depth article I wrote on David Edward Williams, another amazingly talented gay person, was also moved to draftspace. Both articles have more than sufficient reliable and independent citations. Please be so kind and move both these articles to livespace. FuBiuC (talk) 23:30, 3 March 2022 (UTC)

Draft: Aditya Khanna

Hi, you had moved the article Draft: Aditya Khanna from the main space to the back to the draft space. The reason you stated was that the article needed more reliable and independent sources. I have since added some more information with the relevant sources. Also I wanted to point out, that there are articles in the main space on businesspeople that have far less information and range relevant sources. I feel the subject of the article is notable, the draft itself is informative and has a range of relevant sources. In light of this, I have resubmitted the draft for review, although I do feel like the draft should be moved to the main space, and become an article. Rvsingh12 (talk) 20:57, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

Rvsingh12, you're welcome to make improvements and submit the draft for review. I will note that your concern of "other stuff exists", well, has its own essay - basically, the existence of a sub-par page does not mean other pages should be made as well, but rather that those pages should be cleaned up or deleted. • (talk page stalker), @Winterbugahod, first off Praxi is not a “sir” she is a lady, secondly, Praxi's talkpage is not the appropriate venue for complaints if the draft article in question was submitted via AFC then going here is the appropriate venue to voice out your queries, secondly if the article was moved back to Draftspace from mainspace then visiting the WP:TEAHOUSE is the best route to follow to get feedback. Am I understood? If not then please going to my own TP here to ask for further clarification is also a good idea. Praxidicae is extremely busy at the moment. You sure know an awful lot about our policies for a brand new user, Kathyspikes. Was the block on your other account Knight of CAW not obvious enough? CUPIDICAE💕 21:00, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

I'm not related to the editor you mentioned in any way and I don't feel it appropriate to assume this because I'm not. Thank you and have a good day. Kathyspikes (talk) 21:04, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
Kathyspikes Then perhaps you should read our paid editing policy again and also disclose where you advertise your services as required by the terms of use. And also go through AFC instead of spamming your clients without a review. CUPIDICAE💕 21:06, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
I have disclosed already. What else should I do? And what part was spamming? I think I followed the process.Kathyspikes (talk) 21:09, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
If you had bothered to read the actual terms of use and WP:PAID you would know exactly what you need to do. Which includes getting a review from an experienced editor who isn't paid to put your clients on Wikipedia, Kathyspikes. CUPIDICAE💕 21:11, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
Specifically, this part of the terms of use as dictated by the WMF: Paid editors must provide links on their Wikipedia user page to all active accounts at websites where they advertise, solicit or obtain paid Wikipedia-editing services. If such an account is deleted or removed, any corresponding links on the Wikipedia user page must remain visible for at least one week.[3] So where is that you advertise these services, and where is the link? CUPIDICAE💕 21:11, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
Why are you talking to me like this? May I ask? Kathyspikes (talk) 21:18, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
Kathyspikes I'll gladly answer when you disclose appropriately. I have yet to see a proper disclosure on your userpage, which requires a link to where you advertise your services. CUPIDICAE💕 21:21, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
I don't see that as a conversation that's going to be fruitful if we keep it like this. I'm willing to comply but you seem so harsh.Kathyspikes (talk) 21:24, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
I should have worked on this in draft. I realize my mistake now. My apologies for it. Are you able to send this to draft? Kathyspikes (talk) 21:39, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
Unfortunately now that it's at AFD you'll have to wait on the discussion to close before it can be moved to draft, but I do note that you've commented there asking for it so your wishes will hopefully be taken into consideration. Primefac (talk) 08:22, 8 March 2022 (UTC) (talk page stalker)

Hello, I am talking to you in relation to the article I wrote about El Xokas. I don't understand how you have had time to review the article in less than a minute. El Xokas is one of the most famous streamers in Spain, he has done a live stream with more than 1.2 million simultaneous viewers (I don't know if you are aware of how many people that is) and has had more than 50,000 simultaneous paying subscribers on Twitch. I think the article is well written and I have referenced everything, the media I have put are the best Spanish newspapers. El Xokas is one of the most famous streamers in Spain unfortunately that isn’t a yardstick for ascertaining Notability in this collaborative project. he has done a live stream with more than 1.2 million simultaneous viewers (I don't know if you are aware of how many people that is now you are being very rude and you ought to apologize to Praxidicae forthwith. I have referenced everything, the media I have put are the best Spanish newspapers. Anyway, in case you think it is not enough, I am going to add even more references please don’t! you are massively ref-bombing at this juncture, See WP:REFBOMB. From my humble point of view, I think you have rushed and should have invested more time That is very presumptuous, Praxidicae has probably the lowest error rate in the English Wikipedia so they most definitely didn’t “rush” I’m sorry but I’m unconvinced thus my declining of its creation into mainspace. • @Celestina007, @Praxidicae I'm sorry if I have offended you or if I have expressed myself badly. It's certainly not the right way to say things. But understand my point of view, after spending a lot of time working on an article, I see how in two minutes it's rejected. It is very frustrating. Greetings. Dandilero talk 16:31, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
      • Dandilero, First off, you don’t need to ping Praxidicae on their TP, they can see & are aware of this conversation, they most likely wouldn’t respond because (1) they are heavily preoccupied with other aspects of this collaborative project and (2) I’m already responding on their behalf, you have apologized for being rude which is good. Okay then, now let’s discuss, “But understand my point of view, after spending a lot of time working on an article, I see how in two minutes it's rejected. It is very frustrating. Greetings” there are too many things wrong with this statement some of which are outrightly mendacious. Let me start by saying the article wasn’t rejected in two minutes as you claim Draft:El Xokas was created at precisely 16:47 on March 11 2022, See and it was rejected by me On March 15 2022 That is a whole Four days after which counters your claim that it was rejected “after 2 minutes of creation” Secondly please see WP:PLEASEDONT. I understand and appreciate your predicament but unfortunately Praxidicae didn’t make the rules nor did I, The time spent in creating articles is immaterial to its mainspace worthiness. I’m sorry but it is what it is. Celestina007 (talk) 17:37, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

IranPress News Agency to be deleted?

Hello, just saw your "request for speedy deletion (CSD A7)" on IranPress News Agency. I have questions. How and why does it meet the criteria for speedy deletion? What part of notability does this article fail to achieve? How can this article improve to fit the criteria for staying on Wikipedia? Viral weirdo (talk) 19:52, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

It fails any notability. It exists, there are no claims of notability. Merely existing is meaningless. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a directory of everything to ever exist. CUPIDICAE💕 19:53, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
This is not, a random thing that just exists. This is a real news agency. Saying that this is "Merely existing" is rather ignorant.
Saying that this is a random thing is like saying Press TV, Fars News, ISNA, and OAN, are all unimportant random corporations. Viral weirdo (talk) 20:08, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
Okay so prove it's notable. It exists, beyond that, I see 0 sources discussing it. CUPIDICAE💕 20:08, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
I have literally placed the sources on the article. Two of them are from the website its self, based on the WP:ABOUTSELF policy. The other one of them is from another Iranian news website called, Young Journalists Club.
If this is not enough for you, I think I should also mention that this news agency also has an article on Persian Wikipedia.
Here is an IRIB official website, their "world service" to be exact. Just scroll down and see, IranPress is listed as one of their channels. I believe it is important, because it is an official part of a governmental department. Viral weirdo (talk) 20:56, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi there. I have spent time rewriting the Le Droit Humain page to conform to copyright policy, after another user flagged the copy/paste nature of large parts of it. Well this is embarrassing, I could have sworn I weighed in the AFD & !voted accordingly earlier today, perhaps the crappy Nigerian network didn’t save the damn thing, I have weighed in now, I really have to go join my extended family back in Utah at least the network there isn’t this bad. But lest I digress, Praxi, it indeed doesn’t really matter how they ask, you definitely shouldn’t withdraw it, the AFD has merit. Personally I don’t see GNG or any relevant SNG met. Cunard has added many references to the AFD, far more than other articles that are not considered crap. (So "Other Crap Exists" doesn't apply). Consider withdrawing your AFD. Thank you. Charliestalnaker (talk) 21:33, 26 March 2022 (UTC)

Bassim Haidar

Hi Praxidicae, any reason as to why you nominated a page I worked on for speedy deletion? The page has been extensively reworked on and numerous reliable sources added, there are other contributors who also agree which is why it was moved to draft for further editing. You seem to have a bias against Bassim Haidar and I wonder why. You could have easily nominated it for deletion and allow me the opportunity with others to make a case why it shouldn't be deleted but you chose to nominate it for speedy deletion for reasons best known to you. I did abide by the guidelines so it is quite funny seeing that you have a bias against Bassim Haidar. Care to explain? Are you also discouraging me from contributing to Wikipedia? Let me know — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alikachukwu (talkcontribs) 12:48, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

My nomination and subsequent comment on your talk page adequately explains why. Read it. As far as a bias, feel free to bring up your concerns at WP:ANI, otherwise, stay off my talk page if you're just going to insult me. Cheers. CUPIDICAE💕 12:50, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi Praxidicae! I've come across very good reviews and advice about your work on Wikipedia. I am new and fairly experienced. I really want to articles in the English-language Wikipedia. I am very diligent, willing to learn, and responsible. Kindly help me navigate the process and understand how to write a good article that is accepted and meets the standards for approval. I need your assistance in working in the right direction I need to understand how to write my nominations that are acceptable without failing or falling victim to speedy deletion. It is sad to lose an article you've spent time researching. Thanks Mambablaq.1 (talk) 13:41, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

Hello, Praxidicae! As requested I have updated and disclosed the employer as per Wikipedia terms, as previously stated I am a freelancer and I write content and articles for clients thanks to you I have understood that there is a Wikipedia: Paid-contribution disclosure, and editors are supposed to update that. Am sorry at first I was afraid and confused about what to tell you but now am confident and ready to learn, stay honest and transparent in all manners. Kindly I will highly appreciate your guidance in all cases I believe your assistance will matter a lot, I just wanted to create a simple article like this one for terry matalas about the person (Angel Rivera) he is a well-known person verified on Twitter with over a million followers has been a politician, an actor and is a fashion enthusiast please assist on reverting and advice me on the best way on recreating the page to meet the neutral requirements of a Wiki page and removing all promotional content on my page. Will highly appreciate your assistance. Regards.Mambablaq.1 (talk) 16:13, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
(by talk reader) @Mambablaq.1: Typically paid editors are never able to overcome their conflict of interest and often end up blocked from editing; sometimes the company they work for is entirely banned from interaction with Wikipedia. I used to be a paid editor/freelancer myself. That said, I recommend taking time to learn Wikipedia editing and expectations on articles where you have no interest, at all. Learning Wikipedia by slowly editing alongside others is your best chance to not get run off this platform. I understand as a freelancer you have to make product for the client but if you push promotional biographies without understanding our community, this will come to a quick end for you. Seeking for help

Hello, Praxidicae I would like if you can help move Draft:RG Qluck Wise to live (Article) and if there is any errors help fix it. Thanks❤️ Iamghqlick (talk) 20:54, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

  • (talk page stalker), Iamghqlick, I’m not Praxidicae but I pretty much reply on their behalf due to their busy schedule. May I remind you that on March 23 you submitted the article via AFC and three days prior the submission Praxi herself draftified the article please i do not mean to be rude but do you not see how counter intuitive that appears for them to unilaterally move the article back to mainspace? I mean, especially now that is has been submitted via AFC? On the bright-side Although AFC says it may take up to three months or more before an article can be reviewed, please don’t be scared by that, AFC isn’t a queue but a “pool” which means fortunately for you it may be reviewed today, but unfortunately it would be declined I can tell you for free that it isn’t going to be accepted, why? You ask? Let’s see, between Praxidicae moving the article to draft and your resubmission you didn’t improve the article in any tangible manner, asides this edit which is very much negligible. In the end please always read WP:GNG & know how sourcing works. Lastly, please ask your questions here or here Praxidicae has a very tight schedule. Lest I forget, it appears an WP:APPARENTCOI is present please see WP:COI. Celestina007 (talk) 10:25, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

Hello, I need some advice, I wrote an article about the current political crises in Pakistan, it was apparently renamed, then renamed again and then someone copied the whole text from my article and pasted it in a merger, now it doesn't show as page created by me, neither the article show any edit by me. quite simply, the page and edits have been reverted. Since I've had some interaction with you, could let me know what is the best way to deal with this situation, thank you. Elmisnter! (talk) 03:56, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

Elminster Aumar, I can't quite follow the train of thought here, but if you could please go to Wikipedia:Requests for history merge and make your request (specifically indicating which pages were copied where, and if possible using diffs) we can try to sort this out. Can you please undo your attempts to fix the Sharmila Thapa articles, you've made it incorrect. CT55555 (talk) 17:35, 31 March 2022 (UTC)

No because I'm fixing it and you basically overwrote an article that already existed prior to you doing a bad copy/paste move (and the original article was hijacked.) It is currently in hte process of being fixed and there is no article for the actress. CUPIDICAE💕 17:36, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
I didn't copy and paste anything. I only made page moves, but seems like we've made contradictory or conflicting efforts. I'm happy to leave it to you, but note there should be 2 articles coming from 1 redirect. CT55555 (talk) 17:37, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
No, you literally created Sharmila Thapa (activist) as a copy of Sharmila Thapa when it already existed under the original name without preserving attribution after the hijacking, which is what primarily caused this mess. CUPIDICAE💕 17:39, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
It appears it was actually this person who did it however when you did the page moves it caused an issue that's currently being dealt with by an admin. CUPIDICAE💕 17:41, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
I don't want to cause any bad feeling, and maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I didn't copy-paste anything, I just moved pages. Anyway, seems like you're on it, so I'll step back. Peace. CT55555 (talk) 17:41, 31 March 2022 (UTC)

Today is April 1, but if you would rather I refrain from partaking in the celebrations at RFA, I am happy to oblige. HouseBlastertalk 01:20, 1 April 2022 (UTC)

I am vehemently opposed to April Fool's day shenanigans that cause sitewide problems and in this case, it wasn't particularly funny and it screwed up the RFA page. So please don't do that again. CUPIDICAE💕 01:21, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
Genuinely curious. I will not object to your comments re: humor. In fact, I can see a non-inconsequential argument that most April Fool's stuff is not terribly funny. However, I am, from a legitimately curious perspective, wondering how I screwed up the RFA page? I have never edited the page before, so I did exactly what the previous nominator had done (swapping the nominations, of course). I didn't substitute the time parser beforehand first, is that what messed things up? I can promise you I am not going to attempt it again, I am just curious into the technical side of Wikipedia. HouseBlastertalk 01:38, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) @HouseBlaster, In summary i’m echoing Praxidicae, It is my thinking that the First of April when bantered or enjoyed with real life friends and family may be fun, I’m no fan of it and never have been, but do you not see how bringing it to Wikipedia is as obtuse as it is fractious? Do you really not see how disruptive that was? please, really, don’t do so next time. Celestina007 (talk) 21:12, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
@Celestina007 I am going to be brief; I do not wish to get into a long argument about this. I do not see how this is disruptive. No one is required to partake in that RFA (or any RFA, for that matter). There have been many discussions on this subject, and the consensus among editors has been consistently in favor of maintaining this tradition. I would hardly call something which has consensus disruptive. HouseBlastertalk 03:17, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

Hi Praxidicae. I noticed you reverted the page for Amir Husain that I worked on back to outdated information and deleted a great deal of the verifiable information I added. Please remember to keep your bias out of subjective wiki platforms such as wikipedia. I have seen that you are quite active on pages relating to Pakistan, aiming to either remove or distort those pages in a subjective fashion, and I have also seen that you are active on pages relating to India, where you only seem to add to/refine information. Please do respond to let me know your reason for deleting my verifiable, sourced additions and reverting newer information in favor of old info. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Permafrost21 (talkcontribs) 01:41, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

It looks like there was some kind of edit conflict between us. I was trying to revert one (or two) of the recent edits that added an innapropriate bold text statement to the article and it seems you reverted more edits, including the ones I was trying to do, at about the same time. That ended up logging that I reverted something else. That's how I think it happened, though it doesn't really matter as all the unsuitable edits are reverted, so it's all good. Nonsense page on Cree Wikipedia needs deleted

Hello @Praxidicae:

I am contacting you because you have done some work on the Cree Wikipedia with, say, deleting pages and performing maintenance. I noticed a portal page with the title of Portal:Ililîmowin was created by an anonymous user on April 5; I do not need to know how to speak or read any indigenous languages to know that the content on that page is rank, non-linguistic nonsense. Edits to Future of Life Institute page

Hello,

I've noticed that you are reverting edits to the Future of Life Institute page. I'm not sure I understand the objection. Could you please explain why you felt the edits were promotional gibberish? LinkedIn is only one of many sources drawn on, which also include established (and often prestigious) media outlets, the Future of Life Institute website, online resources created and maintained by the Future of Life Institute (e.g. https://artificialintelligenceact.eu/). I'd be keen to work towards a resolution on this, because I view the page as woefully outdated at this point and had hoped to rectify this through my edits. Thank you in advance!

"do not edit further until you answer this message" (from CUPIDICAE💕 16:35, 9 April 2022 (UTC))

Hello @Praxidicae💕/ CUPIDICAE💕. I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits. I do not have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting any topic. I am not a paid advocate. This article was created in good faith. I added a WP:COI disclosure to my User Page saying "The topics and content of my editing are entirely self-directed. I am not compensated for anything I write on Wikipedia.". Also, I will delete parts of the article that give it any advantage in black-hat search-engine optimization.

I wanted to contribute an article of someone I follow on social media and have learned from. Is this a COI? (I don't believe so, please let me know if I am mistaken). When creating the article for Andrew Lokenauth, I referred to similar Wikipedia pages I have edited (of other educators I also follow on social media) as examples, Dave Ramsey, Tori Dunlap, Kevin Paffrath, etc. When contributing this article, I was editorially neutral, no sides were taken, and factual information was taken from independent, reliable and verifiable sources.

How can I be a better editor? What do you recommend? I am still learning to use Wikipedia (other Wikipedians have left advice on my talk page. I noticed some were Extended confirmed users. How can I become one?)

I will made edits and editions for improve and fix the article, and use better sources for Andrew Lokenauth that I find on Google. I want to cite the article correctly. Previous articles I submitted didn't have enough sources and were not published.

In the past I have created articles of other educators I follow on Social Media. The previous articles I submitted on other educators I follow on social media were not published (Saifedean Ammous, Glauber Contessoto, etc). Should it be converted to a stub?

To answer your question, Assuming good faith, I accept your statement in which you state you weren’t compensated, I really do accept it but I do not necessarily have to believe it, i really do not, For example the Andrew Lokenauth article which is both a draft and currently on mainspace(ephemeral hopefully) has all the trappings of a possible paid Job, I wouldn’t point to what betrays it but it definitely is a probable paid job. I'm concerned about a lot of your declines, Jeepday, going through AFC doesn't negate speedy deletions and isn't insulation against deletion and more importantly this absolutely didn't go through AFC and the person who moved it is an SPA. So thank you for forcing this into yet another low participation, pointless AFD when consensus was already established less than two months ago. CUPIDICAE💕 15:26, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
Jeepday, I have overruled your decline, because the draft is nearly identical (only one reference different), which is the textbook example of an appropriate G4. Primefac (talk) 15:29, 6 April 2022 (UTC) (talk page stalker)
  • Jeepday your lack of response here is concerning given WP:ADMINACCT. I'm concerned about a lot of your speedy declines which are being overruled and pointlessly sent to AFD and subsequently deleted anyway. Can you please comment on the above and what you plan to do going forward evaluating these? CUPIDICAE💕 22:40, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
And even more mind boggling is your decline of Floyx. And I quote: The time of centralized social media is coming to an end. Floyx has seen both well-meaning and profit minded corporations putting user identity, user wellness and user’s freedom of expression at risk. Blockchain allows Floyx to decentralize identity management and create online personas that does not need a central authority to certify identity, and by extension delete the identity. Decentralization brings the real world and online personas closer - it enables metaverse by letting your virtual-self live without permission from others. By connecting biometrics with user’s wallet, Floyx solve for authenticity and non-cancelable identity.. This is like an actual encyclopedic definition of what G11 is intended for. If a non-admin consistently had this many CSD declines overruled, they'd probably be topic banned. And if you want to make the argument that we can remove the promotional stuff, well, you'd be wrong because we'd have a blank page if you removed the promotional gibberish and copyright violations. CUPIDICAE💕 22:50, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
Everyone has different ideas of "Unambiguous advertising or promotion" is, clearly you and I are on different, ends of the spectrum. Also removing a speedy tag is not an admin action, anyone other then the OP may remove it. I have always been high on assuming good faith. WP:AGF "Assuming good faith (AGF) is a fundamental principle on Wikipedia. It is the assumption that editors' edits and comments are made in good faith – that is, the assumption that people are not deliberately trying to hurt Wikipedia, even when their actions are harmful." Can you please clarify where you believe WP:ADMINACCT comes into play on this topic? Jeepday (talk) 11:23, 11 April 2022 (UTC)

Walkman

Hello. I have restored my version on Walkman S Series as I think you're mistaken. The previous version of the article was very incomplete: it did not list all models/series, and the specifications sheet only has two entries when there exist about 10 different players - I spent time building a complete sheet. Also, the infobox is inaccurate because this is a series of many different players instead of just one. I have also added a large number of references that the article lacked before. This is why I have restored back. Hope you understand, thanks. --Morita Akio (talk) 17:22, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

I've sent Lovepantii (series) to AFD after Tv serial wala moved it (again) out of draft space. It's disruptive, the impatience smells of WP:UPE, but it's the only option at this point. Thoughts would be appreciated. Ravensfire (talk) 16:13, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

Yeah it's an LTA and it's been going on forever. Ill weigh in after work. CUPIDICAE💕 16:13, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
I was about to mention this is probably a sock, but I'm so freaking worn out dealing with the endless chain of socks in this area that I can't put the effort in to chasing the master and getting the SPI rolling. Sorry for that. Ravensfire (talk) 16:16, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
Wait a sec, this is Leo Francis 92/Leofrancis 355. I'll try to get the SPI up this evening. Socks interrupting my work time... without even doing anything! Ravensfire (talk) 19:37, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
Way too long of a day yesterday, but the SPI is filed - Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Leo_Francis_92. Ravensfire (talk) 16:03, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

What specific objections do you have with the edit? Thanks. KlayCax (talk) 14:23, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

Article for deletion: Che route

Thanks for reverting my deletion of the Afd tag. It wasn't intentional, just carelessness after making a very large edit. I did most of it in the Sandbox, and pasted the whole of my last Sandbox version over the whole of the English article, without checking that I was deleting something important. Sorry: it won't happen again (I hope). Athel cb (talk) 16:49, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

Uh, what happened here? I was doing a round-robin move requested at WP:RM/TR, but I couldn't do step 3 (filling space at Draft:Tracey Medeiros again) because you had created a duplicate of the article I had just moved. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 21:21, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

I was trying to clean up the bad references - this really shouldn't have been moved and should've stayed as a redirect. Guess I'll just AFD it now. CUPIDICAE💕 21:21, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
Ah; I'm guessing I moved the page while you were editing it. The author was already warned about publishing it in its current state, and the move was only prevented by technical reasons (redirect in the way), so I performed the move (I don't believe the subject is notable, and I wouldn't have published it myself). I've redirected Draft:Tracey Medeiros. Thanks for your work! Tol (talk | contribs) @ 21:27, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

Your comment

Hi, I saw your comment on my wall and that you deleted it. First up, hi, I review AFD daily and look for articles about women, as part of my efforts to address gender imbalance on Wikipedia. I had not noticed who nominated them for AfD. So just to reassure you that this is nothing to do with you, and just something I've been doing for a while.

CT55555 (talk) 23:15, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
And I was quick to write that, because I was concerned that anyone would think I was giving them a hard time here, that is not my style at all.
So just some extra background, in the hope that it will reassure you, I am an active member of Women in Red. About 19% of biographies on Wikipedia are about women, yet about 41% of biographical articles nominated for deletion are about women. (Source: Gender bias on Wikipedia). So over recent months I've altered my actions here from not just creating articles about women, but trying to save appropriate ones from the deletion process.
If you look through my history, you'll see that I'm active at AfD usually trying to improve articles about women and people of colour in an attempt to make wikipedia more inclusive.
If you take a look here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women_in_Red/Ideas you'll see under "articles for deletion" my explanation of my actions, predating our interactions today.
I know wikipedia can be brutal at times, but I really want to reassure you my actions are not targeted at you and I'm sorry that you felt they were. CT55555 (talk) 23:24, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

Please advise.

Speedy deletion declined: Archana Jois

Hello Praxidicae. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Archana Jois, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Hi Prax. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Archana Jois was in early 2019. Special:Contributions/Robert_McClenon - someone whose opinion we both respect - has requested that this not be speedily deleted, and I am happy to trust that request. Thank you. Sockpuppet?

Hello,
We have been in touch two years ago as part of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Chdondon1990. I have recently observed some activities which reminds me about what has happened at the time:

  • Mila vecto and Mr Nicolaus, Pierrich and مأزن are creating articles, mainly biographies of Tunisian actors and articles about MMA (for ex. UAE Warriors which I saw you have considered for deletion). They are mainly active in WP:en, WP:fr and WP:simple and keep on translating (or trying to translate) the others' articles in multiple languages.
  • Georges st and Slimphotographer are simultaneously uploading pictures for the same articles, and always logging OTRS tickets (quite unusual for newbies).

What do you think? Does it deserve to reopen a new investigation? Moumou82 (talk) 07:50, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Absolutely! I knew they were evading a block. I'm currently fighting off another bout of covid, so don't have the energy to file myself, though. CUPIDICAE💕 12:01, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
Take care of yourself. I realize they are not much active in WP:en so I expect we cannot have an investigation here, so will keep them under my radar for now. Moumou82 (talk) 13:11, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for the R2 on Patolin. As soon as I saw the tag on my watchlist, I realized I forgot a clean-up step. Fastily deleted it before I could hit the "thanks" button. Everyone is so quick! Schazjmd (talk) 20:32, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

No worries, I have a filter I use for RC that specifically is for new page moves by users who probably shouldn't be moving them so that popped up fast for me. :) CUPIDICAE💕 20:34, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

You Have Been Reported for Violating Wikipedia's 3RR Rule

You have reverted changes on the Soborno Isaac Bari page at least 3 times in under a 24-hour time period, thus violating the 3RR rule. You have been reported for edit warring and will now face sanctions and blocking.

Rollback use

Hi, I noticed you using the rollback feature on what appeared to be a good faith addition of a source: [1], and had a quick scroll through your recent contributions and saw similar uses of the rollback feature: reverting the removal of sources from a lead: [2] (a good faith edit that appears reasonable in view MOS:LEADCITE), and this good faith but unsourced edit: [3].

WP:ROLLBACKUSE says that the rollback feature is generally meant for vandalism and such things, and that Use of standard rollback for any other purposes – such as reverting good-faith changes which you happen to disagree with – is likely to be considered misuse of the tool. Any of those three edits I mentioned above you could have reason to disagree with, but if you disagree with them it would be better to explain why in an edit summary. I think new users seeing their edits reverted without any explanation might tend to drive them away from the project. Endwise (talk) 15:34, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

MY explanation was on the talk page for the second, they're also not a new user and it did look like vandalism and the first was a mistake however that user is an actual spammer, so it's moot. CUPIDICAE💕 15:35, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
And no this does not appear to be a good faith edit, completely changing the name of the article. CUPIDICAE💕 15:37, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

Some words of wisdom

Take it easy bro. You've already made enough moolah to have a comfortable retirement. We all know that you've been in the biz for years, and it's hard work. Also forgot to say, thanks for generating all those of potential clients and tracking down competitors, giving yourself and everybody an endless stream of lucrative work to do. But keep in mind, life is short, enjoy it while it lasts. Spend a bit more time away from the screen with family, friends, pets, community. In your dotage, you won't regret quality off-wiki time when your reminisce back on your life.

Mistaken speedy deletion tag of Hyram Yarbro?

Per WP:SPAMPAGE, pages can be speedily deleted using {{db-spam}} when they are blatant examples of advertising. However, I'm not sure how you could possibly think the page Hyram Yarbro meets any of the criteria at Wikipedia:Identifying blatant advertising or at WP:G11. The criteria is meant for pages that are unambiguously and solely attempting to promote a product, service, or individual and has no other goal at all such that it would need to be fundamentally rewritten to be encyclopedically acceptable (rather than tweaked in a few areas for tone for example). Just making sure this tag wasn't in error? Alduin2000 (talk) 21:52, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

Just a single example: ged 18, Yarbro moved from Arizona to Honolulu, Hawaii in 2014 to study at Brigham Young University.[3][4][6] There, he studied international cultural studies, peacebuilding, anthropology, and entrepreneurship.[3] While at college, Yarbro experienced premature aging and became passionate about skincare products when he used them and saw how effective they could be.[2][5] He went on to work as a make-up artist at Saks Fifth Avenue.[3][7] Whilst working there, he realised that consumers would buy expensive products to ensure they had the best skincare and began to question whether they were worth the price. Seeing that there weren't any resources online about skincare directed towards consumers, he decided to start his channel on YouTube with an ingredients-driven approach to providing advice on the subject.[2][3][7] is nothing short of absolute promo. CUPIDICAE💕 21:53, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
This is biographical information that is relevant to an encyclopedic article, and reflects content in numerous reliable sources. Nonetheless, even if this is off in tone or is undue weight to what amounts to trivia (not the case imo but still), this doesn't really address what I'm saying. Articles are only eligible to be deleted under G11 if they are (quoting here) "exclusively promotional". In Wikipedia:Identifying blatant advertising, this is expanded on as "Blatant advertising is an article or a page that's created, worded, and designed for the sole and intentional purpose of selling or promoting an idea, product, or service." I think tone or due weight issues in the article (if they exist) clearly do not amount to the page being exclusively promotional. Anyway, I was just checking. I think the tag is clearly in error but if it wasn't a mistake it will be decided upon by an admin. Have a good day. Alduin2000 (talk) 22:01, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
It is heavily promotional beyond saving. Obviously if an admmin disagrees, they'll decline it. In the mean time, I'm not removing it. CUPIDICAE💕 22:03, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

Sorry

I'm sorry for removing the sources that you added to the article, I was so caught up in fixing it that I didn't even realize it reverted your sources. X-Editor (talk) 23:37, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

Kyla Carter

Thanks for getting that speedied. I tried earlier today, but was basically told there was nothing wrong with the article or the creator. I was going to take the whole mess to ANI, but now I don't have to. :) Cheers, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:54, 22 April 2022 (UTC)

huh?! Who said there's nothing wrong with that article? CUPIDICAE💕 16:03, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
When I requested speedy this morning (I had it on the watchlist) on the basis that it had been deleted following an earlier AfD, the attending admin declined, saying it can't have been the same as the AfD'd one because it had some new sources. I tried to explain that it had in the meantime been republished several times, and the creator in any case had a COI and shouldn't have been publishing directly anyway, but nothing doing.
This may have been partly because it was this time under 'Kyla Carter' (moved there from 'The Kyla carter'), whereas much of the earlier shenanigans was under 'Kyla carter', so possibly not immediately obvious unless you knew where to look. With all the moves and draftifyings etc., the histories were a mess.
I also have a feeling there may be some puppetry behind this, going back to the earlier AfD (albeit a few years ago now), and I was thinking I might have to open a SPI, but now the creator has been indeffed anyway, so maybe that's the end of it. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:19, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
I can't go too far into it but a simple google search of said user will provide a lot of insight (and they should absolutely be blocked indef because quite frankly it's creepy.) PRAXIDICAE💕 16:21, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
Might have a look, if I feel the need for a good scare in the small hours.
Meanwhile, in the first edit of this version Draft:Kyla Carter the creator seems to imply they are the article subject.
Odd. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:33, 22 April 2022 (UTC)

thanks Praxidicae. I'm an editor at the Arabic Wiki, but 90% of the sources are Arabic. I Do not use the article as an advertisement because the person is very famous in the region. What should I do? Dahomvic (talk) 19:09, 23 April 2022 (UTC)
Hi; I'm an uninvolved editor, and for clarity sake I didn't even look at the draft, but if what Praxidicae says is true, then I'd suggest reading WP:NPOV and WP:RS to address these concerns. Thanks! — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBS19:22, 23 April 2022 (UTC)

Thanks @3PPYB6 My point is the lack of sources that are in English maybe only dozens, unlike Arabic sources. My question is can I use Arabic sources? Dahomvic (talk) 19:39, 23 April 2022 (UTC)
@Dahomvic—Of course! Wikipedia accepts any source that is reliable, even if it is in a different language. You'll just have to translate the Arabic into English. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBS20:05, 23 April 2022 (UTC)
