Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2023 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Haider Ali. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Tables

[edit]

Hi - please refrain from changing the format of cricket tables for world cup regional qualifiers. We have an agreed format that minimises notes. Qualification details are added when teams confirm their positions. Bs1jac (talk) 13:39, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello! I'm StAnselm. Your recent edit(s) to the page 2025 ICC Champions Trophy appear to have added incorrect information, so they have been reverted for now. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please do not add Bangladesh onto the list of qualified nations until they actually qualify. Stop removing the qualification spots from the points table

[edit]

Please stop removing the qualification spots from the Africa qualifier page. It is standard to have these spots listed regardless of who has actually qualified, because it tells at a glance where the actual spots are.

Removing them creates more confusion.

Please stop removing them, all you are doing is making it harder to read. Basetornado (talk) 20:29, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Pkr206 It is standard across Wikipedia to have them listed in Green. Please stop reverting them. You are doing nothing but making it more complicated to read. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Basetornado (talkcontribs) 05:34, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:56, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edit reversion

[edit]

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 13:56, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Completely unreferenced and no WP:RS online, failing WP:GNG

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:46, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop creating copies of articles for The Hundred seasons by using cut and paste moves. There is an ongoing naming discussion about this, contribute there instead of being disruptive. Do any more of these cut and paste moves, and I will be asking WP:ANI to block you. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:48, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And also stop moving articles like The Hundred (2021) whilst this RM is ongoing. Discuss this at Talk:The Hundred (2021)#Requested move 29 February 2024, don't cut and paste or move any of these articles unilaterally. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:50, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup knockout stage

[edit]

If India qualifies for the semi-finals, their knockout match will be in Guyana on June 27. Therefore, if India finishes first in the table, they will play against England on June 27, not June 26.

ICC clearly stated that India will play at Providence Stadium in Guyana ON 27

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 02:08, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects

[edit]

Hi. Please can you not create pages for cricket players and immediately redirect them to a Team page, for example Benjamin Calitz, Sam Topping, Harry Dyer, Gavin Roulston and Kian Hilton. This results in links on that page redirecting to the same page. New players do not need a page created (even a redirect) unless they pass notability criteria, and they can remain unlinked on the tournament page. Godknowme1 (talk) 11:38, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Godknowme1 these are perfectly reasonable redirects if the person has played for only 1 team, and is unlikely to meet WP:GNG (and so doesn't warrant a separate article about them). In fact, loads of WP:AFDs have had consensus to redirect cricket players to team articles when they don't meet WP:GNG. Please don't warn people for doing something sensible and reasonable- if you disagree with these redirects, then WP:RFD is correct place to discuss them. Joseph2302 (talk) 16:43, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
When do we start to make redirects of players playing Irelands Inter-Provincial Trophy and Inter-Provincial Cup if start redirecting after playing one game for club then, can we do same for associte players ? Since Ireland domestic cricket is not consider highest domestic level according to WP:OFFCRIC. I don't think we need to redirect each player with the team article when they debut these players wil get seperate article when they pass WP:GNG until then they should remain unlink like associte players.Godknowme1 (talk) 05:00, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on South Africa Champions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Along the lines of R3, only nobody will search "South Africa Champions" when looking for the South Africa national cricket team article. An absolutely implausible redirect

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

Implausible redirects

[edit]

Please don't create implausible redirects as above. Nobody who is looking for the above national cricket teams will be searching for "Fooland Champions" to search for the Fooland cricket team. AA (talk) 13:29, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, 2024 Women's Twenty20 East Asia Cup, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. 2024 Hong Kong Cricket Sixes moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to 2024 Hong Kong Cricket Sixes. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. JTtheOG (talk) 02:21, 28 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
