Since Papaya Global is a 700+ employee company, valued at $3.7B after raising north of $400M (including rounds led by Insight Partners), and was just named in Forbes Cloud100 (for the second straight year) - a list headlined by companies like Stripe, Databricks, Canva, and Plaid. Almost all other companies on that prestigious Forbes list, including smaller companies than Papaya Global, have a wikipedia page. With such list of accomplishments and acknowledgments, I wonder what stands between Papaya Global and having a Wikipedia page. Undisclosed paid editing

Cheers, I've stumbled across this editor who's paid and doesn't disclose. There's a bunch of debunking edits regarding the Akilnathan Logeswaran and Anders Indset articles (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Akilnathan Logeswaran and [2]). This bloke has also edited these on German Wikipedia [3], [4], with the now deleted English Logeswaran article even being an exact copy of the German version, so we've got xwiki abuse too I reckon. He's also been a lot more obvious with blatantly promotional contributions on German Wikipedia, just have a look at these [5], [6], [7], [8], [9]. Another interesting paid contribution scheme can be found in the German articles on Lucas Sauberschwarz and Lysander Weiss. The editor knows both article subjects in person, he is associated with their firm "Venture Idea" and they even mention him in their most recent book, see Sauberschwarz, L.; Weiss, L. (2021). The Corporates Strike Back: How Large Companies Win the Innovation Race Against Disruptive Start-Ups. Springer International Publishing AG. p. IX. ISBN 978-3-030-79114-8. Retrieved 2022-09-26. Andrekos Varnava revisited

I am proposing a new article about the Australian/Cypriot historian Professor Varnava. Having authored and edited a number of Cypriot articles using his work, I felt that he warranted his own article (there are over 50 citations of his work in Wikipedia already). I don't know the reason why an earlier version was rejected, so have no difficulty submitting a new one in good faith (although I don't know what the original looked like). I have included a sub-section on his more controversial influences, which make him of interest to Wikipedia searches on certain topics. I have never been compensated, paid or otherwise for anything I do on Wikipedia; it is completely opposed to everything I believe in (free knowledge) and I believe that Wikipedia stands for. I am also conscious that my word probably doesn't mean anything, but in a strange kind of way, the discovery of "people" (and objects) fascinates me more than posting. The fun for me is in learning about them (they are all individuals), and thinking about why might interest someone searching on Wikipedia. Yes - I would be disappointed if Professor Varnava (now high in my esteem) didn't get his place in a medium I care about, because I imagine "it" shares my values - but I would move swiftly on because there are many more worthy candidates waiting for attention.Geneus01 (talk) 05:43, 21 October 2022 (UTC)

The green terror (Andinoacara rivulatus) is a colorful species of freshwater fish in the cichlid family, Cichlidae. The fish originates from the Pacific side of South America from the Tumbes River in Peru to the Esmeraldas River in Ecuador. It is polymorphic and can have white or gold-orange edging to the tail and dorsal fins. As its name implies, late juvenile-phase and adult-phase specimens can be very aggressive. This green terror was photographed at Karlsruhe Zoo in Germany.

The emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae) is the second-tallest living bird after its ratite relative the ostrich. It is endemic to Australia, where it is the largest native bird and the only extant member of the genus Dromaius. The emu's range covers most of mainland Australia, but the Tasmanian, Kangaroo Island and King Island subspecies became extinct after the European settlement of Australia in 1788. Emus are soft-feathered, brown, flightless birds with long necks and legs, and can reach up to 1.9 metres (6.2 ft) in height. Emus can travel great distances, and when necessary can sprint at 48 kilometres per hour (30 mph); they forage for a variety of plants and insects, but have been known to go for weeks without eating. They drink infrequently, but take in copious amounts of water when the opportunity arises. This emu was photographed in the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve in the Australian Capital Territory.

A question about copyright

Hi there, I've seen you at the copyright noticeboard and would like to ask a question. I've come across an article with a film plot directly copied from IMDB. I've read the IMDB copyright policy and as I'm née to copyright I wasn't sure if copying from IMDB was allowed in Wikipedia? The plot on IMDB is user generated. You're definitely OK to create a new article using the sources in the deleted page, but you cannot use the old text without proving it is copyvio free. MER-C 15:35, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
