Question from CharityPeno (00:25, 22 July 2024)
Hello - I'm disclosing my COI as the wife of the person who is the subject of the wiki page "Ron S. Peno". Please know that Ron's birth name is not "Ronald Stephen Valentine Peno", it is "Ronald Stephen Peno". I have his birth certificate to prove it. Can this please be corrected since I am not allowed to do so myself? There is a lot of incorrect information currently published on Ron's page. How do I best ensure that the facts are corrected if I cannot provide those facts myself? The current writing is also very clunky and in parts, poorly written. I would really like to have Ron's page edited so that it reads more clearly, concisely, factually and professionally. Thanks. --CharityPeno (talk) 00:25, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @CharityPeno! Thanks for asking your question. While Ronald's birth name may not include "Valentine", I cannot fine any sources that state he changed his name. If you can fine a reliable secondary source, you can create a COI Edit Request on the article's talk page. We cannot accept an unpublished birth certificate as per WP:PRIMARY. Since you have a Conflict of Interest, I suggest you read WP:COI, specifically WP:COIEDIT. As per that guideline, you can still edit the article even though you have a conflict of interest, however you must only edit based on Reliable sources that anyone can access, as long as you disclose your COI, (See WP:Disclose). If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Lordseriouspig 08:25, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks so much for your quick response. Jeff Jenkins has mentioned RSVP as a made up persona/band name, but the reference on the wiki infers that this is a fact. How can I prove it with a publicly accessible reference when it was never an issue of discussion - because it was never true in the first place? Every single other mention of his name in every article ever written is either Ron Peno or Ron S. Peno because his name is, and has always been Ronald Stephen Peno. He never changed it to Ronald Stephen Valentine Peno, he never performed as Ronald Stephen Valentine Peno, and he has never been known as Ronald Stephen Valentine Peno - he was playing around with names that RSVP might stand for - as in Ron S. Peno and the Return to Senders. How I can I prove that he changed his name back when he never changed it in the first place? Does Jeff Jenkins need to make a statement clarifying what he meant by his comment in the referenced article? I find it troubling that anyone can write conjecture in an article published online and that misinformation then be construed as fact on a Wikipedia page which then spreads the same misinformation as other writers/researchers/people take it as fact. Yet primary source material like an actual birth certificate or statement from his wife is not accepted as proof of fact. I’d be very grateful if you could advise me how to go about getting this incorrect information about my recently deceased husband corrected. It’s more than a little distressing for his bereaved family. Sincerely Charity 120.21.81.74 (talk) 09:00, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- This one is hard. As per WP:PRIMARYCARE, birth certificates generally shouldn't be used. The best I can recommend is to try and find sources that say he didn't have "valentine" in his name, and/or bring it up in the article's talk page. Thanks, Lordseriouspig 10:04, 22 July 2024 (UTC) Lordseriouspig 10:04, 22 July 2024 (UTC)

Oops
Hi, sorry, I created a draft article German Army WWII radios/German Army WWII radios in mainspace by mistake, despite many year's experience on WP. I think I used the right tag for SD, otherwise, please delete it. Thanks, MinorProphet (talk) 12:40, 27 July 2024 (UTC)
- No dramas, things like this happen often. It’ll be deleted when an Admin checks through the backlog, so there’s no issues. Lordseriouspig 14:15, 27 July 2024 (UTC)
"Needed"
You deleted RS-supported, clearly highly relevant information about a person (he is serving a 15 year sentence for it - thus highly notable), saying it was not needed. That is not appropriate. Nothing at all on wp is "needed." Not one sentence, not one article. That is however highly notable and thus appropriate. We don't whitewash. 2603:7000:2101:AA00:6C42:74B3:3491:157 (talk) 05:27, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
- I should say that a passing mention of someone should not go into much detail, but I won’t argue with your opinion. If you want to include it, can you add a citation? Lordseriouspig 05:39, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
- I will. Thank you. --2603:7000:2101:AA00:6C42:74B3:3491:157 (talk) 07:08, 28 July 2024 (UTC)

Rollback
Hi Lordseriouspig. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Fastily 11:11, 3 August 2024 (UTC)

- I've just looked at your recent attempts to "help out" as a non-clerk, and they are not helpful. In one, you said you were providing additional evidence, but you didn't add a single diff (the best evidence are diffs), and in the other you improperly used a CU signal. I think you should direct your energy to other areas of the project.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:11, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- Listen, I've been here for a while, and you may have noticed that I asked another editor for help. Many parts of Wikipedia require lots of experience and expertise. The SPI stuff is really complicated in various ways, and you simply do not have the experience (technically, and with edits and editors) to be doing that kind of stuff. It may happen--but this is such an important area that we have to be professional about it. Keep editing--stay out of really complex areas until you are more seasoned. Thanks. Question from Dhanushka Abeysinghe (08:28, 18 August 2024)
Hi i need to add a biography --Dhanushka Abeysinghe (talk) 08:28, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Dhanushka Abeysinghe. I see you previously tried to create a user page that was deleted. If that was the article you want to create, please do not. I also looked through your sandbox and noticed that, if that’s the biography you want to publish, it’s not ready. A few things to note:
- All pages (especially ones about living people) must have citations
- Your article is not written with a neutral point of view
- It also may not meet the notability requirements for a Wikipedia article.
- I’d recommend going through HELP:GUIDE or WP:ADVENTURE to learn more about editing, and maybe start with editing a few articles before you jump into article creation.
- When you do feel like your ready to start creating articles, I’d recommend reading WP:FIRST for info on how to create and publish your article.
- Thanks, Lordseriouspig 10:45, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from Ozymandius II (01:25, 23 August 2024)
Hello Lordseriouspig, I have joined Wikipedia because someone made a bio page about me that is clearly meant to be unflattering and is definitely not NPOV. It was unpublished (for lack of citation) but awaiting republish. I understand it is improper to edit it myself, but can I make suggestions with citations in a talk page? Advice appreciated. --Ozymandius II (talk) 01:25, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
- Defiantly! We have a thing called Conflict of interest edit requests which is exactly what your looking for. Thanks, Lordseriouspig 09:51, 24 August 2024 (UTC) Lordseriouspig 09:51, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
Question from Jlstover80 (04:46, 23 August 2024)
I have my first recent credit on IMDB and wanted to make a page on here with a link to the IMDB --Jlstover80 (talk) 04:46, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not 100% sure what you mean. You can definitely reference IMDB, see WP:IMDB. Here is the guideline on how to reference: Help:Referencing for beginners. Lordseriouspig 09:54, 24 August 2024 (UTC)

Hello. I wish to create a new article. How? Thank you. --Gwapong Manunulat (talk) 23:25, 26 August 2024 (UTC)

- First of all, I recommend you read WP:FIRST so you know how to create an article, how to format, if that topic needs one, et cetera. Once you have done that, you'll need to create your article! Since you're not autoconfirmed, you'll have to use our Wikipedia:Article wizard Lordseriouspig 07:19, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from TuscumbiaWiki (17:04, 28 August 2024)
Regarding Rosenwald Schools built across the U. S., what would be recommended as a sufficient entry for an addition to the list? Is a current picture and status required as part of a submission? --TuscumbiaWiki (talk) 17:04, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- In general, notable would mean ones that already have an article about it. You may want to also add a reference or two. Lordseriouspig 20:03, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
