Disambiguation link notification for April 11
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Palehound, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rock. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Agata Szymczewska
Szymczewska is the winner of one of the most important violin competitions, Founding Member organization of World Federation of International Music Competitions, Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition, Poznań. You can call it "major music competition", can't you? It means that A.S. is a notable musician and if you need some paper evidence for it you prepare it based on facts better than accomodate facts to lack of evidence. Lukask (talk) 12:02, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Lukask: Thanks for your message. Apologies if the WP:PROD offended you and let me outline the reasons for it. The Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition appears notable, however, the Wikipedia page for it gives no indication of its notability. The Szymczewska does mention other competitions, but with no references. Also, has she done any recordings, notable performances in the past ten years? And what is the World Federation of International Music Competitions? At the moment, all the article is saying is that she has won a competition, of unknown importance, ten years ago. Report of User Karst on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents
Karst, you have been reported for disruptive behavior (reverting to old images, deleting cited content) on the page specified in your heading. Your opinions on the matter are welcome, you may post them on the relevant discussion part of Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. This is my resolve after your edit war with Eldorado74, who sought help from me. After my attempts to talk to you on the matter you have been reported for, I hope an administrators input and action will be enlightening for you; "I don't see what the issue is here" - I quote. Limehous-0 (talk) 17:37, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
April 2016
Your recent editing history at J. Ralph shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Archiving
Thanks for that notification, I've ambiguated the American band back to the status quo of confusion with the Welsh one. The two archive pages would need to be moved as well if we wanted to help people tell the two bands apart. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:59, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
=Article for deletion
I am proposing that the following articles should be deleted Albert Cooper (footballer) and Albert Cooper (cricketer) Now that i have found the proposal for deletion template i shall be using it for the myriad of American non-entities Wikipedia presently includes.Norwikian (talk) 10:28, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
As I stated in my edit summary, Visual Editor barfed all over the page. This was not your fault, but VE's. However, you should have cleaned it up after your revert. VE barfs at at a relatively high rate. As another editor stated in the article's history page, you should check for VE problems. Bgwhite (talk) 19:57, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Bgwhite: Thanks for the heads-up. I rarely do editing on categories so I did not realise there were errors there. I'll have to read up on it.Karst (talk) 09:05, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
- I don't think you edited the categories. VE "edited" them for you. Bgwhite (talk) 21:27, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
Hi- I agree this article is crap - my only involvement was to retitle it from its former incorrect title, 'Music of the Czech Republic'. However the topic is a sensible and encyclopedic one, so improvement is the appropriate remedy, not deletion, imo. Best, --Smerus (talk) 16:06, 1 June 2016 (UTC)

You deleted this without any discussion. At least move the text back to Draft:Bob Bryar so the editor can decide whether to pursue. LaMona (talk) 00:42, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
Please discuss before abruptly redirecting an article. You claimed that the subject fails WP:MUSIC. The previous article that was there prior to the AfD was very messy and not created well with much of the info as irrelevant and unsourced. The new and current article is very well sourced, showing the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself (WP:MUSIC). David Bowie/Prince
What exactly wasn't constructive about my post? I was asking why an icon like Prince doesn't get a death of page? But a white artist does? Don't f**king delete my comments to try and silence me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7F:C41F:B900:BD12:6C44:FE8D:6E15 (talk) 14:31, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

It could be split off, sure. It's long enough. It doesn't have to list remixes, but if you're asking for my personal opinion on its inclusion, I would include it. Ss112 13:15, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to At the Drive-In may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
- List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
- to cancel part of their North American tour after Bixler began to have issues with his voice. <ref>[http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/7408934/at-the-drive-in-cancels-tour-dates-vocal-cords

Lou Rhodes
Hello. You seem to be proficient on Lou Rhodes knowledge. Can you take a look at the second line under career. It says she worked a photographer in the 1990s. Should that read worked as a or worked for a photographer? Ta. The joy of all things (talk) 14:40, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
- @The joy of all things: Thanks for your message. I wouldn't say I am any more proficient then any other editor. I am simply going by the sources. The Guardian interview from 2011 states: "Rhodes was a photographer with a background in folk music". I'll move the reference to make that clearer. Karst (talk) 14:56, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
- Ta. Sorry - what I meant was that I quickly scanned the citations but couldn't see anything. It seemed like you might know offhand as you've been editing quite well. Thanks for sorting it. The joy of all things (talk) 15:36, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
your banner on the Gringo Star page
Since you did a wholesale hatchet job on the Gringo Star page, you could at least show the courtesy of taking down the banner which you placed there. I am the father of a band member and not paid, but did not realize the conflict of interest policy and will avoid any future issues. I never hid this relationship and in fact, when a question came up previously about a picture I had uploaded, I freely acknowledged that. I was not trying to "promote" the band, but just trying to keep up with changes, since nobody else was ever doing it and I had actual knowledge of the course of events. I won't make any more edits, but have resubmitted the picture you took down to Wiki Commons. I took the picture, which is a polaroid which I left with my son. I disclosed that I had taken it at the time it was uploaded, but obviously made some error in navigating the authorization. You could have at least asked me before you took the steps you did. Hopefully, the e-mail I have submitted will clear the picture issue up.
It seems to me that although I might have been too "promotional," you have replaced that with antagonism, by, for example, taking an isolated quote from Pitchfork to describe their first album, which did, in fact, get overwhelmingly positive response, even if the response from Pitchfork, which favors electronica and Rap, was more mixed. As for other links which you removed, I didn't create the reviews, just linked them. There was no need to remove them even if you wanted to add the few negative reviews. And there have been very few.
So, you may be skilled at this, as I am not, but you hardly seem to be unbiased.

Disambiguation link notification for September 11
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Merge Records, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sneaks. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The Zutons
Your edit is incorrect. They are reforming for one gig. I assume you are referring to the Warrington appearance as a reformation, but it wasn't (that's your false intrepetation) and isn't mentioned as such either. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.69.119.28 (talk) 11:42, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
Get on with it fella - keep pushing incorrect info from tabloids. You obviously like edit warring, and not actually contributing anything to articles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.69.119.28 (talk) 11:50, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

Epic accidental double team there ^_^ Nikthestunned 11:52, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Nikthestunned: Lot of hubris. Perhaps translated from the French article. Ran Refill over it for the references. If it wasn't for the charts, he would not be notable at all. Karst (talk) 11:57, 22 October 2016 (UTC)

"Needs further sourcing and one charting song does not make the WP:MUSIC criteria." - actually it does make the criteria.
Criteria for musicians and ensembles: Has had a single or album on any country's national music chart. - TheMagnificentist (talk) 13:58, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
- @TheMagnificentist: what page are you referring to here? Karst (talk) 14:01, 22 October 2016 (UTC)

- @TheMagnificentist: Two singles in a download-only chart is borderline, especially with a minimum of reliable sources. He barely passes WP:MUSIC which is why I put the tag there. When has entered the main chart or meets the other criteria it can be removed. Karst (talk) 14:14, 22 October 2016 (UTC)

My Vitriol fake citation
Hi, I'm not sure how best to deal with this but notice you have edited the My Vitriol page a couple of times. Someone keeps entering an unrelated name with a fake citation from the BMI (editing the keyname attribute text in the URL changes the page text) - doing a search shows that result does not exist: http://repertoire.bmi.com/WriterSearch.asp?blnWriter=True&blnPublisher=True&blnArtist=True&blnAltTitles=True&queryType=WriterName&page=1&keyname=saumya&keyid=0&fromrow=1&torow=25 Is there any way to stop this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by PegPelvis (talk • contribs) 08:26, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
- @PegPelvis: Thanks for letting me know. I left a note on the My Vitriol talk page to get consensus. Feel free to discuss it there. Karst (talk) 09:22, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
- That looks good. Thanks for looking into it! PegPelvis (talk) 09:47, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
New SPI
Hi mate, think you might have those diffs wrong? One is an edit I made... Nikthestunned 17:21, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Nikthestunned: Apologies. Made a bit of a hash of that one. Need to figure out how to report a possible block evasion properly. Cheers. Karst (talk) 09:45, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
- No worries, glad you raised the matter as it seemed pretty coincidental to me also. What I meant re: the diffs is, should you not show an edit which the IP made is similar to one the user made? To show they're editing in the same manner? Now it's just two by that IP. E.g,. this diff vs one of those you already included. Cheers Nikthestunned 11:15, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Nikthestunned:Those were the two that stood out to me. Feel free to add other ones to the SPI. Karst (talk) 11:29, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer granted
Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Rollback granted
Hi Karst. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Widr (talk) 15:48, 31 October 2016 (UTC)

revert with no explanation
Regarding the following revert: I am not an expert at WP etiquette, although I'm a longtime editor, but I would hope that when someone (in this case, me) posts a comment or request for comments/suggestion, it is not merely or flippantly reverted (even by a 'bot) without an explanation. I had a sincere concern, and for some reason instead of a reply (by a person or bot), my comment was removed. It not only dismisses my issue, which a reply would do; it prevents others who might eventually have the same concern from knowing that others previously also voiced the matter, and that it was decided not to proceed. Let me know your input about this please.--SidP (talk) 21:21, 31 October 2016 (UTC) @SidP: That was an error on my part, instead of hitting the edit button I hit revert. I corrected it immediately afterwards and left a comment. Apologies. Karst (talk) 21:30, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Karst: Thanks for the explanation. I was confused.--SidP (talk) 23:27, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
Am I paranoid or ...?
Hi, we had a talk yesterday, and now I just witnessed you edited to an article Lee Hazlewood a few minutes after I got falsely accused of plain vandalism. Is it a practice on Wikipedia to hunt an anonymous when one is discovered? I am a person of good will, but am not certain about logging in yet. I would like to add Lee's singles to the discography: is that a crime? 83.85.143.141 (talk) 20:54, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, Karst. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Mdann52 (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Morcheeba legal dispute
Hello Karst. I noticed your edit summary for the latest change at Morcheeba. If you're concerned about a legal dispute regarding how Paul Godfrey left then we should have a reliable source backing what is said about it. I'm thinking shouldn't be saying he resigned based on an interview response from Skye Edwards. Although I know nothing about the dispute. Gab4gab (talk) 18:38, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Gab4gab: The issue is over the ownership/use of the name and how much Ross Godfrey and Skye Edwards would have to pay in order to buy Paul Godfrey out. This is explained with a quote in Skye|Ross section of the article. The quote in that section is from Ross Godfrey, not Skye Edwards. If it says that Paul Godfrey has left the band then that implies the issue over the ownership has been resolved. Karst (talk) 22:09, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
- Ahah...that dispute. I think it's a problem that the sources are interviews of Ross & Skye. It's a controversy and unlikely to be neutral presenting only one side. Gab4gab (talk) 21:32, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Gab4gab:Under the circumstances, Paul Godfrey is unlikely to comment (he does interviews like these at the moment). He retains the social media presence of the band where the Morcheeba situation is described as "dormant". Clearly it is an issue where they need to agree the right amount - which will happen at some point. Ross Godfrey's comments are fairly matter-of-fact and describe the current situation. The page has had a few issues with people assuming what the situations was, I waited until there were reliable sources to add. If and when Paul decided the comment, I will surely add it. Karst (talk) 23:04, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted
Hi Karst, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 00:07, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
Please revert yourself
Your assumptions are basically the opposite of what I am planning to do. And you are not helping JustJess or myself or yourself. The WikiEd people have promised to look at that course next week to see what went wrong, which is exactly what I want them to do. I basically fixed most of the remaining problems that were caused by those 2 courses, so I don't really understand why you seem to be trying to add fuel to a fire that has died a while back. Please do not presume you can predict the actions of a potato. WP:ANI is for stuff that requires administrator intervention. You don't need a mop to click undo. (((The Quixotic Potato))) (talk) 11:51, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- Done Clean up most of the remaining mess.
- Done Ask WikiEd people to take a look at that course, so they can determine what went wrong and why, and how to avoid fiascos like that in the future.
- Done try to convince the Wiki Ed people to make a list of experienced Wikipedians who are willing to help instructors (you know, the ones who accept help) so they can be paired up
(((The Quixotic Potato))) (talk) 11:56, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
I moved the following comment here, it was posted on my talkpage, but it seems to be a reply to the comment above. (((The Quixotic Potato))) (talk) 12:20, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
Great. Here Jess ask you to stop harassing her. In response, you continue to WP:BADGER her here. That honestly was not needed. You demanded that Jess' ability to start courses be removed, because you feel she is not competent. In his reply @Sage (Wiki Ed): did not address that issue at all, except for reviewing the course. Hence my comment on proceeding to ANI. Karst (talk) 12:16, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- Are you intentionally trying to cause drama? Too late mate. What I am planning to do is trying to improve Wiki Ed. JustJess is a lost cause and most of the problems caused by her courses have already been fixed by others and myself, but there are many instructors who can use some help.
- Ideally we would have a system where instructors have a list of experienced Wikipedians who are willing to help them avoid beginnner mistakes. For example: notability is difficult to explain. An experienced Wikipedian can help instructors by explaining what is and isn't notable and why, and by checking the list of course assignments to see if there are articles that will end up being deleted for lack of notability. Again, please revert yourself, your false accusations and attempts to create drama are not appreciated.
- (((The Quixotic Potato))) (talk) 12:20, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- @The Quixotic Potato: Then you should get in touch with them through this. Good luck. Karst (talk) 12:27, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- I have been in contact with the people behind Wikiedu for a while now (started in November if I remember correctly), and we use email. Now please revert yourself and stop any further attempts to create or prolong drama. I am not sure if you knew that I think that JustJess is a lost cause and that most of the problems caused by her courses have already been fixed by others and myself, but now you do. (((The Quixotic Potato))) (talk) 12:30, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you. Not sure why you didn't revert the comment, the part that you didn't strike is just as nonsensical. I didn't use the word "insist" on the Education noticeboard... I used it on Jess' talkpage. I insisted on three things. She did not respond positively, so I solved the problem myself. Your false accusation makes no sense, especially now that you know that ANI is not the next step... I didn't harass anyone, I left 2 responses that are contain facts she doesn't want to hear. Again, please revert yourself and stop trying to create drama. Do you have ideas on how to improve Wiki Ed to avoid fiascos like that course in the future? (((The Quixotic Potato))) (talk) 12:34, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- Evidently Jess found it harassing enough to mention it and ask you to stop. Your request "Can someone please remove User:JustJess_PhD's ability to start courses?" is pretty insistent and blunt, especially considering your behaviour on her Talk page. I struck the ANI comments, but I stand by the rest of the post. I have no further interest in WikiEdu. Karst (talk) 12:53, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- OK then I will revert you because that is the textbook definition of trolling. I am now going to focus my attention elsewhere. Please stop it. Thank you, and goodbye. (((The Quixotic Potato))) (talk) 12:54, 17 December 2016 (UTC)

Re: Wiki Ed section on Jimbo's page
Hey, thanks for the note; I've removed the "do not archive until" directive. I considered removing it last night my time after I'd noticed that Jimbo had answered the question, but I thought that would come across as ... bitchy, and the section would've been archived on its own anyway a few days later. However, I hadn't realised that the poster of the comment had been blocked. Graham87 12:37, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

Counter Warning
Stop deflating Janet's sales. She has sold 160 million records which is verified by reliable sources like Billboard. Both BMG and Janet also claim the same figure. Second, she getting voted as Queen of Pop has to mentioned as well. The poll was conducted by mainstream source like VH1 and world chose her to be deserving Pop Queen. SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly; your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please let us know on SuggestBot's talk page. -- SuggestBot (talk) 13:47, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
