The article now looks fantastic. Of course I like it! Thank you very much! :) --Goose friend (talk) 13:38, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

That's right! Uhde depicts it in each one of his paintings about Jesus. I know of no other artist that captures this feeling so well, and he painted many of these scenes. You might also like his paintings Sermon at the sea, Sermon on the mount, Lord, Stay with us, Road to Emmaus 1, Road to Emmaus 2, Road to Emmaus 3, The Sermon, The Lord's Supper (2), Christ healing the sick, and Grace. These paintings are outstanding but some are in black and white because they were taken from an old book and I've not been able to find them all in color. Anyways, Uhde had things to say about this. How I'd love to see a revival of this kind of art!--Goose friend (talk) 14:18, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

Think we're done! I'm not sure what happened with your Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose - it started mid-sentence - but the end bit was good, so I used it. Lots of people involved this week: - I asked Muhammad Mahdi Karim for help with a somewhat complicated Islamic site, you helped with paintings, and, well, you've probably noticed the list is pretty long. Anyway! Thanks again! Adam Cuerden (talk) 04:08, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

Goller and the Goller-bull

Hi Hafs, I rewrote the first sentence, as (according to my reading of the case (which may be wrong)) everything's a bit murky at the moment- on the one hand an art restorer who can paint in the style of Cranach (one of them)- on the other an art expert who specialises in Cranach saying that the paintings that have appeared in auction houses and museums are wrong. He's pointed the finger at Goller, and the German police have raided Goller's house, but the connections don't seem to be proved at the moment, i.e. between Goller and the paintings, and between Goller and the sale of the paintings. There may turn out to be a Goller gang- that will be exciting! If I wanted to sell a few fakes through Christie's I'd want a respectable go-between (wouldn't want to turn up smelling of turpentine). Retiring now- will try and get the pics sorted out in the morning. Also the sheep on the cliff. Xanthomelanoussprog (talk) 23:43, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

Oh, it just fine. Hafspajen (talk) 01:36, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Hpj, Happy Lucia!

Thanks, Haffy. Did you make those buns yourself? Nothing like that on hand here, although yesterday I did make some of the molasses & raisin cookies (with cinnamon, ginger & cloves) that Mom used to make — to give to relatives. And I bought two children's books for grandkids.

It's a start. If only we would get some snow.... Sca (talk) 14:01, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

dogs-in-heaven-pope-leaves-pearly-gate-open Drmies (talk) 21:56, 12 December 2014 (UTC)

Consoling. Now when we don't watch dog-vandalism more we can ask Francy to get an account and revert this kind of things. As I said, Drmies, people have a lot of opinions but nobody will do the work. Hafspajen (talk) 22:03, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
You don't need me to revert that. BTW, there's nothing on that Bully Kutta, and the one source that's there, I wouldn't trust it too much in the India/Pakistan debate. And then there's stuff like this. I wonder if this dog shouldn't be merged somewhere. Drmies (talk) 22:08, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
Baby, if people don't respect the work we do and just rule over us big time, they can do it. We stopped. This is the thing will happen, it is happening already. And by the way we were still two against one. But of course, none of us is admin. Hafspajen (talk) 22:13, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
Well, if you don't want to do dog cleanup, that's fine--but do you want me to do it? I'm not walking around on the streets with a baggie in my hand. Drmies (talk) 22:16, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
Well, there are several things you can do. Like admit that if somebody makes three reverts admin or no is wrong. Two, you can admit that we do a giant work every day that is invisible, but still, we know a little tiny better what dog article problems we have and maybe are qualified to make changes without being reverted and asked for a broader consensus. Nobody cares about these articles, but they are all the times vandalized. Nobody even know the topic, all is happening is just silly edits or ownership of certain articles .. or pets added in long massive row .. all pets in all American homes are on their way to Wikipedia, because they are lovelier and better than any other dogs... in the world . Dear Pictureman, I just found a major topic we havent had so far - Humboldtian education ideal and added some romantism pic and contentwise to Humboldtian science. Honestly Yngvadottir, I have felt sort of embarrassed with your help on copyedits - its good if you give me a task now and then (as to rein in in DYK, what I did at the Tscherman Indiunns with some spurs) to reimburse you ; Hafspajen - I have enlarged Religion in Antarctica, its not enough for a DYK however. I bet you find no better pictures:) Serten II (talk) 20:57, 12 December 2014 (UTC)

  • OK chaps, I have given the article a good going-over. It segues abruptly from Basic concepts back then to Revival in the 1960s and to divergent funding and government policies in the 21st century. It needs something in the middle about how Humboldt's ideas were put into practice. I see there is a promising paragraph sitting at the end with no references. Please add refs to this and stick it in the hole. More than is there would be good.
I have put a "citation needed" on one point. Should be easy enough to find a ref from the material on that Federal initiative.
You may want to mention Stanford Research Park. You may want to read about William Rainey Harper, although I see our article leaves out the fact he wanted to emulate the research primacy of the German universities! (The wheel has come full circle. But I am also deeply sceptical of the notion the German universities are inferior, different funding or not. I suspect this judgement rests on overly narrow metrics such as numbers of patents.) In addition to Chicago, you might also want to read about the University of California and the Morrill Land-Grant Acts; there's a whole lot of excellence in US higher education that is not encompassed by the Ancient Eight. Oh, and liberal arts education is relevant to the topic of the article :-)
Pinging Drmies again for his input as reviewer and for possible further thoughts on US higher ed. Yngvadottir (talk) 19:07, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
KLingeling to Yngvadottir, very helpful to improve our sometimes poetic, sometimes market driven stuff ;). I inserted an (critical) lead about KAIM, the German sort of all stakeholder educational machine. I found as well that Hofman Humboldt lecture quite amusing: Humboldt actually was a university dropout and a sensualist epicurean „Daher ja im Privat-, als auch im politischen Leben alles darauf ankommt, die Gegenstände des Bedürfnisses zu vermindern und die des Genusses und der freien Tätigkeit zu vermehren“. Will say, do as you like and not as you must ;) I am happy that you like to contribute. Point is, there are some Ungleichzeitigkeiten /(anachronisms?): German reformers sometimes go after a US state of the art that has been given up since a while and vice versa. Humboldts ideal is being as great as unreachable, which allows for its use for rather diffferent viewpoints still today. I would like to see some inputs along the sketch of Yngvadottir and may add some points about "Kreativökonomie" Cultural industry for the liberal arts part. Serten II (talk) 19:38, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
I saw you editing it including working in that orphaned bit at the end - good. I will return to re-copyedit either later today or tomorrow. Must now walk a dog. Yngvadottir (talk) 19:44, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
I moved the links to a "See also" section. That wil take its time however to elaborate, I want to avoid another Olim le Berlin on bullshit of the obvious suxpicious. Serten II (talk) 14:34, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
I removed all the See also's except for one, but worked another into the text. I then did a pretty aggressive copyedit, and left a note on the talk page - let me know if you don't understand the note, my eyes were rolling so much at the gaps in en.wp's coverage that I could hardly see to type. More refs are needed, and I'd like more elaboration in the middle, but I don't think it can be called unclear now.

Yngvadottir (talk) 17:49, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

Quite a nice meeting of minds, no sweat! Compare Frederick_the_Great#POV_Tag with regard to the ignorance about such gaps. WP is still "Stückwerk" Serten II (talk) 19:29, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Good catch, Adam, but actually även is a False friend; it looks and sounds a good deal like even, indeed it's cognate with even, but it doesn't mean "even", it means "also", and should be so translated here. You can see how one sense might shift towards the other over the years of separate semantic drift. It's quite confusing, and something I've had to tell my (Swedish) students about frequently. If you don mind

Hi....

I am very happy to get a feedback of In this photograph. My exams going on I don't think I will be able to give a bit time for cropping it secondly, I didn't get what frame is in your mind, if you don't mind, could you please do the crop which gives more effect to that photograph. I would be very much thankful if you can do so. Bellus Delphina talk 11:07, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

Editing note

Let's go for a walk....

Hafs, I thought of raising this issue with you yesterday, but since the page was already out there I didn't: It might have been better to create this article in a sandbox. That's what I thought we were doing here (which you advised me to create months ago for this purpose). That would have prevented other eds from jumping in with both feet. Oh well.

But please understand, I value and appreciate your hard work on this pet topic (mania?) of mine. Thank you. Sca (talk) 14:41, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

  • Eh, I should have read the top note:all citations. But now I found refs and it is in shape, that section. That book of yours on Impressionism, I don't have it. can you use it in any way? What was that called, Sca Hafspajen (talk) 15:50, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
It's the library book I HAD (past tense), and it's referenced thus with the first Monet quote:
Impressionists in Winter: Effets de Neige, by Charles Moffat, Eliza Rathbone, Katherine Rothkopf and Joel Isaacson, p. 25, 1998, Philip Wilson Publishers Ltd., ISBN 0-85667-495-8

Sorry. Hafspajen (talk) 17:06, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
No worries. I've been through the whole thing. I'm not saying it's perfect, but now you're free to tackle it again. I can give it another shot later. Don't forget my Russkis! Sca (talk) 17:44, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

The pix are where they've always been, in here. Sca (talk) 18:26, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
Writing tip: One thing I've tried to do is introduce what's called "elegant variation" to avoid using the same word repeatedly within a short bit of text — which causes a kind of echo in the reader's mind. One word I've changed is "depict," substituting portray, show or simply paint. Sca (talk) 21:28, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

Are you still planning to provide text discussing the Russians? Sca (talk) 17:20, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
I thought you mean add the Russian pictures to the article. I have to confess that apart from noticing that Russians are good at culture, never was preoccupied with them. Maybe peter? Or you? (don't tell me you know nothing about it - it's not magic, just look up the magic realism in your books. Or in the library). Hafspajen (talk) 18:58, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

Can you advise about images uploaded to wikipedia without info?

Hi Hafs, could you guide me on what to do about some images that were uploaded to wikipedia, clearly by someone who didn't know much about what they were doing. They have no information except the license and the image title. They are not used here, and I wonder if they would be acceptable at Commons. File:Cemetary Liberation War.jpeg, File:Sunset-titas.jpeg, File:Shopping Malls.jpeg; they were uploaded with others that are all of Brahmanbaria Bangladesh, and the Sunset-titas is plausibly of the Titas river, which is at that same place, but putting even that much info on them would involve guesswork. Your Russian saint

A dog attempts to escape from the odor of Lutefisk

I fed part of the Russ WP article [4] into Bing [5] and got the following predictably garbled translation, from which you probably could glean enough for a caption.

Míša-Samuil (real name Mikhail Lazarev; 1848 — 23 February [8 March] 1907)-pereslavsky whacky, revered in orthodoxy as he was canonized a Saint of Yaroslavl diocese.
Mikhail Lazarev was born into a peasant family of Yam, located near Pereslavl. The name "Samuel" added people as monašestvuûŝemu person for his strict Virgin life, after the death of Samuel, priest of St. Nicholas monastery.
With Misha's craziness. An eight year old boy he predicted Moore on the people in his village, and the villagers have demanded to kick him. It has sheltered in his cell, hieromonk Nicholas monastery, Samuel, who was the spiritual father of the boy.
Misha has spent all his life, wandering the city and its surroundings. Often visited Trinity slobodka, liked to be in the House where the beznogogo peasant Simeon Vukolova (now the House of 21).

Does that help? Sca (talk) 15:25, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

  • From Google-> Mikhail Lazarev was born in a peasant family Yam village located near Pereslavl. The name "Samuel" added people as monasticism person for his strict virgin life, after the death of Samuel, celibate priest of St. Nicholas Monastery.

Since childhood, Mike took over foolishness. Eight year old lad he predicted plague on the people in his village, and the peasants demanded oust him. Sheltered him in his cell Nikolsky monastery monk Samuel, who became the spiritual father of the boy.

Throughout his life, Misha spent wandering around the city and its surroundings. Frequented Trinity 'Village, where he loved to be in the house of the peasant drunk Vukolova Simeon (now house 21).

I suppose "legless" doesn't mean "drunk"! Xanthomelanoussprog (talk) 16:36, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

− I don't know. I'm just not comfortable putting more content than is in the article on the cheese into the Signpost. I'd rather encourage article expansion, by pointing out the article's terrible, or actually do it, by adding things in. I presume you have sources; if you can cite the bit about the cheese's rind, and the like, I reckon it'd be better for Wikipedia that way. =) Adam Cuerden (talk) 11:01, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

Stormy waters

Eugene Jansson - In the Twilight

It's really not worth engaging on aesthetics when it comes to paintings on pages of historical figures: We're an encyclopædia. Part of our mission is educating people, and that means that we have to show art as it is, and not make changes to it just because we might wish it looked differently. If you go in on accuracy of colours, or trueness to life... well, that's kind of missing the point: if we're showing it because it's an important artistic depiction of that person, then we need to show the important artwork, not something that's similar, but changed to suit our tastes. You're going in on æsthetics, and you can actually lose there in some cases, but that's the wrong criteria to be using anyway. If you have reason to believe the artwork is accurately depicted, that should be it, end of story.

We're not using these artworks as mere clipart, we're generally using them because they're amongst the most important depictions of the person. That makes getting things right important. Adam Cuerden (talk) 03:45, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

I'd never realised there were alpine Calceolaria. I wish I'd seen that page calling them the Happy Alien Plant before, as then I could have written:
The Happy Aliens say... Hello! hello! hello! etc.,
which I think works better. And is it not charming to find a plant that offers food to birds on a tray...? PaleCloudedWhite (talk) 22:25, 16 January 2015 (UTC)

What had he had?

You wrote of Hans Hoffmann: "It is believed that Hoffmann had in the Netherlands." Well, there's something missing there. I would've filled it in myself, but a quick perusal of the source wasn't any help in determining what you had intended to say. I'm thinking that perhaps he had encounters with space aliens in the Netherlands? MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 10:19, 17 January 2015 (UTC)

I think how this environment would be, if 74. had been with us. I used to think that you, CorinneSD, and Joshua_Jonathan knew where, how, and when to interrupt. Look at the whole Ayurveda, Anti-Russian sentiment, and many other topics where I had to argue with multiple users but 3 of you probably had some confidence in me. Things would be much different for me if 74. was around, they would be good or actually bad. One thing I have learned here, always know how much you are involved. Well, I agree it is hard. The idea avoiding that Royal Kurgan is just the same as the above. Can't we give up some of the churches? They are great but in a composition like this they rater tend to clutter up. And I would move up the Wedding near the muted because it matches the colours ... muted too. But I like Muller. Besides The Miracle at the Grave of Elijah - which I believe you like anyway - there should be nothing of any problematic character this week, except van Gogh. You're right, he is kind of unsettling. Adam Cuerden (talk) 10:22, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

By the way, see if you can find a good photo in one of the lists that doesn't feel too tangental. There's some good photos, but they're all one or more steps removed, and I'm not sure that's good enough. The ones that aren't aren't great. Can always use FPs if there isn't a good FL image. Idea

As we consolidate the discriptions perhaps at the end a ..more.. link, to the project page might be helpful, rather then to have users go to the top of that section to use the link as it is first mentioned. What do you think? --talk→ WPPilot  16:11, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

I am not sure right now what links we are talking about. Hafspajen (talk) 16:13, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
Example:
I don't think "more" is that useful: for articles and lists, the link is right there, and for images, we should link in the description. Why link twice? Adam Cuerden (talk) 12:23, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
Also, we need to have self-contained descriptions. We can't cut off half-way through describing things with a "More." We are under no requirement to use exact text from articles; indeed, ideally, we should be resummarizing ourselves, as it makes it more personal. The suggestion A. sets the assumption up that everything will be a direct quote from the articles/lists in question B. removes all possibility of joking thereby and C. to look at the example given, that cuts off midway througha paragraph explaining the history of the company, ending half-way through the history, and including way too much detail on the way, which is why it can't finish the history. That's not a solution. Adam Cuerden (talk) 20:39, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

I can see you have once again served notice that you are stepping back from the process - or at least "never nominating again". Is there any reason you take such a personal view of anyone opposing or questioning? Debate is healthy, life would be boring if we all agreed. Please stop taking it personally and accept that others have different and sometimes equally valid points of view, and continue to make a valuable contribution to the forum? I have liked quite a few of the pictures you have nominated in the past, but everytime I or someone else finds an issue you get very defensive. gazhiley 17:30, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

  • Some like it and some don't... I will not nominate photos any more. I like certain kinds of debates - but I might have a different view on debates. Maybe it is cultural. One Swedish researcher told me that she was living a period in Jerusalem and had a seminarium for the first time on a controversial topic. She said that at the end of the discussion people were taking of their jakets, were gesticulating, screaming at each other and some jumped up on chairs. That's not exactly how she was used with before from home. Also, it is cumulative, I think I had a bit bigger share of contoversaies on my nominations ever since I started then many, and that goes before you started participating again. I am not enjoying it - not everybody does that. See discussion at Wikipedia talk:Featured picture candidates/Archive 35#Proposal to decrease the minimum number of supports from 5 to 4. Note the discussion and also Saffron Blaze comment: People and cultures that try to avoid open confrontation would much rather pass than vote oppose in that environment.' And also I am not as good at technical details on photos. Hafspajen (talk) 17:41, 6 February 2015 (UTC)
  • Think, you should try one thing, like the American indians say - try to nominate something, (walk in someone's shoes) and try to feel how is it to be at the receiving end of the criticism. Everybody who nominates something puts someting at risk, something if he or she believes in. Notice that those people who often nominate are much less tough with criticism than the ones who only vote but not nominate. Hafspajen (talk) 01:01, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your advices. But I have very small experience in WIKI. That is my first article. My English is not perfect.
I would appreciate if you help me to correct this article. The article about famous Russian-American scientist and human right activist (He was 15 years into concentration camp in former USSR) Alexander Bolonkin in codes is below.
Thank you very much advance.

2. They move this draft article to their sandbox.
3. We can offer advice when it's there. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:42, 7 February 2015 (UTC)
  • We had a "conversation" and emails that didn't go anywhere. Essentially I said: Reliable sources, Self-published sources and paragraphs that are just a list of articles... anotherwords, what Drmies said. Bolonkin has published books by Lambert Academic Publishing, Nova Science Publishers and Publish America. These are nothing more than you pay us, we will publish you type outfits. A notch better than the Lulu's of the world. One conversation started by them saying, "Why did you cut the article about the outstanding world-famous scientist Alexander Bolonkin to small notes?". Article

Dear Hafspajen:
I have a poor experience in WIKI and I am sorry if you get my massage again.

Thanks you and your friends for your help in writing the article about well-known scientist and human right activist Alexander Bolonkin. I am very gratefull for this.

I have only two small remarks:

1) You mentioned that Bolonkin was in Gorky in exile. He was in Siberia in exile (in small village Bagdarin).

By "that picture" do you mean Winterlandschaft by CDF? (Doesn't look like him at all. Seems from a much later era. Sky is Van Goghish.) And to what does "this one" refer? Sca (talk) 15:07, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Oh! So it is Van Gogh. What's up with the caption? Sca (talk) 15:14, 7 February 2015 (UTC)
It WAS Winterlandschaft - I am writing an article on it, and told you so too, but I thought you ignore me. So I changed the pic.Hafspajen (talk) 15:46, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Rosi trained in the workshops of Jacopo Vignali and Cesare Dandini, along with other young Florentine artists such as Carlo Dolci. It seems that he undertook a study trip to Rome, where Rosi saw the work of Simon Vouet and Giovanni Lanfranco. In his early works the influence of his teacher Dandini can be seen, especially in the treatment of drapery, to which the latter always paid great attention. His biographer Baldinucci described him as having the extravagant temperament of an artist. Rosi enjoyed the patronage of some of the most important Florentine families of the time, such as Corsini or Rinuccini, for which he undertook large decorative projects. He also made a series of ten designs for tapestries commissioned by the Grand Duke Cosimo III de 'Medici. Rosi's work has undergone a re-valuation by critics in recent years, after centuries of oblivion. His foremost pupil was Alessandro Gherardini. What is there to discuss? What discussion do you wish to have? The image i am in favor of is simply more contemporary. In case you dont know what that means, it means it is closer in time to the actual person i.e. the 13th century instead of the current picture/image which is 250years after his death. Request for Support

Nice tooFile:Pomegranate Seeds Collected BNC.jpg

Hello Hafspajen,

Here is my friend and an active photo contributor of wiki who is well known to me. Please give him your support for him too. I am requesting the same thing from Crisco & Herald and I hope all of you will not mind for supporting him. Bellus Delphina talk 06:57, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi...Hafspajen, Just have a look at his upload page [12], if any of the photos are in FP quality, we can promote. I have seen many potential photographs uploaded by him, that's what I meant. I do give a lot of direct support for him to create better ones, that's why, I thought you guys would be better to see the value of the clicks. Bellus Delphina talk 07:08, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Lets see what Crisco says . Bellus Delphina talk 07:17, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

How about the portraits Herald ? Haffy have a look at the portraits, as I do always portraits, I found interesting ones in it with good quality. Bellus Delphina talk 07:26, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

  • That's something really interesting. Feel free to support any. (What body is your friend using? 1/125 and F5 suggests there's a high ISO, but that information's not in the EXIF data... also, if your friend is going to shoot with a long lens like that, they are gonna need a faster shutter speed; File:Kathakali Close-up BNC.jpg has some evidence of motion blur). — Crisco 1492 (talk) 10:43, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Hey Crisco, That's very nice. He use the same body ie 5100, which I only suggested. A very good friend of my and a kind of student of mine....lol. But still the pictures are coming good. Bellus Delphina talk 10:47, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Well, here are some nice clicks depicting the cler cut culture of my place. Love it and will certainly support him. Ṫ Ḧ the fury of the naturegiven flesh 12:03, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

The 25 DYK Creation and Expansion Medal
Hafspajen, I am pleased to award this medal to you in recognition of your outstanding work creating articles which appeared on DYK. It's especially wonderful that so many of them were art-related, thus elevating the cultural level of the Main Page. Your contributions to DYK, and to Wikipedia in general, are greatly appreciated! La Laguna Cathedral

A new editor has added material to La Laguna Cathedral. I went through the article and fixed as much as I could. (See my talk page: User talk:CorinneSD#La Laguna Cathedral.) I noticed that in the "Artworks" section there are a lot of red links (I created two of the red links) to artists and perhaps even architects. There may be some articles that you might like to write. I think you made a mistake at the creation of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2015-02-25/Featured content. That issue should report on content promoted between 8 and 14 February, and not this week. Alliteration!
Hello Hafspajen! Lotje has given you a bit of alliteration to brighten your day! Alliteration promotes WikiLove and hopefully it has made your day better. Spread the alliteration by adding {{subst:User:Lotje/Alliteration}} to someone else's talk page, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. In addition, you can spread the alliteration to anyone who visits your userpage and/or talk page by adding {{UserLotje/Alliteration icon}}. Happy editing! Lotje (talk) 07:22, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

My evil plan is working

Dusky leaf monkey, Trachypithecus obscurus - Kaeng Krachan National Park

My evil plan with the bots is working. <insert evil laugh> The statement is working.... if ($name eq 'Hafspahen') { exec barf_on_page }

The bot actually did archive you page. I realize with 1,240,507 images on your archive, it can be hard to tell what is going on. It just ordered the messages differently.

I also took the liberty of removing {{nobots}} on your talk page and replaced it with {{nobgwhite}}. I thought you would like to keep the most annoying thing off your talk page.

What more annoying things.... If I was an HTML Nazi, I'd tell you are using {{-}} wrong and should use {{clear}}. If I was an actual human being, I'd tell you seeing all the pictures on your page does brighten my day. But, I'm not human, so it the pictures are disgusting filth. Bgwhite (talk) 10:50, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Hafspajen, I noticed your update and was wondering where you got the information. Lotje (talk) 17:09, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Yeh, optimism is the cradle of happiness... Lotje (talk) 17:39, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
Pffft. I bet 1/2 of Haf's edits were to apply pictures and torments to my talk page. If you look at the top of the lists (oh 25ish down), you will notice a name that proves the list does not equal quality. Bgwhite (talk) 08:07, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Hafspajen, can this article be improved? Lotje (talk) 08:20, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement

I think you misunderstood the role of Kautilya3 in this "drama". JimRenge (talk) 09:55, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

You mean - Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement#Joshua Jonathan ... ? I might. But how much is too much? I WAS actually looking at those diffs and it doesn't seems to be an issue for ARB. It is a minor problem that it could have very easily fixed by having a simple cordial discussion about the topic, in between friends. Because Blade and Joshua were friends until now, and Joshua was actively mentoring Blade to save him from being topic banned, half a year or maybe a year almost, really - together with some other editors, he put down a lot of time and energy on this mentoring and was patient and kind - and this sudden out of the blue - ARB thing Blade is initiating against Joshua - and - can't notice any proper previous communication about the subject -it is utterly disappointing. Hafspajen (talk) 10:07, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
  • Before you go with a old friend to ARB, there are several other options open -there is still more discussion, dispute resolution noticeboard, or even ANI - first... I am sincerely disappointed. Whatever the problem is. And Joshua is not an impossible editor who can't be talked to. Hafspajen (talk) 10:15, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
I know Blades history, Joshuas generosity (willingness and patience to mentor Blades) and agree with you: it´s really disappointing.... :( JimRenge (talk) 10:41, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
I know about that too, I was sort of in involved a bit myself. With this result in hand one really wonders... Hafspajen (talk) 10:45, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Reverting for no reason

I've noticed on several occasions now that you have reverted clearly explained edits for spurious reasons. You are currently edit warring to restore inappropriate instructions to an article. You appear to be doing so merely to be provocative and annoying. Grow up, please. 200.83.101.199 (talk) 02:49, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

  • I AM very grown up. You have no idea why I am doing things. You have also probably have never hiked either, if you don't understand the importance of it. I rewrote it, and your excuse of removing it is not valid any more. And telling people to grow up when you have no idea who you are speaking to is bad style and rude. The above post is blatantly WP:Bad faith. Hafspajen (talk) 03:00, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

On a campaign to remove peacock wording and suchlike. They edited Eduardo Paolozzi to remove some puffery. My local hospital has (or had) one of Paolozzi's screen prints- the place functions as an art gallery as well- but I think the selection is just made at random. Not sure any of the patients notice- the artwork is confined to the corridors.

Xanthomelanoussprog (talk) 08:41, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

(edit conflict)What kind of peacock-peacock wording and suchlike? Hafspajen (talk) 08:50, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
Description: Sir Eduardo Paolozzi (British, 1924-2005) Wittgenstein In New York, from the AS IS WHEN Portfolio, 1965, edition of 65, published by Editions Alecto. Identified within the matrix. Color screenprint, framed. Sold for $148 in 2012- dirt cheap- he must be way, way out of fashion. Xanthomelanoussprog (talk) 08:46, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

Sounds nice. Peacocks are always nice. Well, was sitting here thinking that I should withdraw that report - because I might get blocked as well. But than I thought - yeah, but then he will get away with this kind of behavior, so better I get blocked too, because this kind of thing is shit. Hafspajen (talk) 08:51, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
