dividing an article into sub pages
Greetings Jim. Thank you for your reply to my post. I have already divided the article i hope to submit into sub pages. I haven't published anything yet, though it is ready for review. I think i just need help with the syntax for how to publish the whole article with links to supporting sub pages. Do i merely publish each page separately and then create links to the supporting pages? Many thanks again. Dragonboat Ronin (talk) 03:28, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hello, Dragonboat Ronin. I do not see any recent article draft edits by you to user space, draft space or sandbox space. I cannot assess this content until it is on Wikipedia in some form. I am also concerned about your mention of subpages, because subpages are not allowed in Wikipedia articles. Please read Wikipedia:Subpages. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 03:45, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
Greetings Jim. Yes i haven't published anything yet; i've only used the editor and previewed what a finished article would look like to avoid it being deleted before it is ready (as occurred to me earlier). Should i try publishing the main article so you can see it? It has highlights to links i hope to make to related content. Subpages may not be the correct word. Essentially it is several articles that can stand alone but have related content. Many thanks. Dragonboat Ronin (talk) 03:54, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Dragonboat Ronin, the draft you wrote a few weeks ago was not appropriate for the encyclopedia, since it described original research that you have done. Please do not try to add that type of content to Wikipedia. Original research is contrary to policy. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 04:38, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
Greetings Jim. Actually i had compiled data from several sources on the subject of the fastest times in dragon boat racing throughout history. This information was collected from many sources and i put this together into a report to show various international team coaches. They requested i find a way to try and publish. I then copied the email i sent to them and intended to work it into a publishable article without actually knowing that what i was working on was live as i was unfamiliar with wikipedia format. I had thought my sandbox was private and not viewable to the public. Are you saying there is no way that an article about the fastest dragon boat race times is suitable for wikipedia in any format, or just in the format i had initially presented it? The information actually comes from several prominent members and organizations in the Dragon Boat racing community, not merely from my research. What you were looking at was nothing near a final publication intention. Many thanks. Dragonboat Ronin (talk) 04:50, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Dragonboat Ronin, an acceptable Wikipedia article must be about a topic which has received significant coverage in published reliable independent sources. You mention information that "comes from several prominent members and organizations in the Dragon Boat racing community". If that information comes to you through emails, letters, phone calls, text messages or face to face conversations, then it is original research, and therefore not acceptable on Wikipedia. Your job as a Wikipedia editor is to neutrally summarize published reliable sources. No more and no less. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:09, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
Greetings Jim. I understand what you are saying. In good faith i hope you don't misunderstand me. Almost all of my information summarizes published or posted sources, the majority of which can be verified instantly online; it is not from emails, letters, phone calls, etc. There were a few race events which did not have online published results. For those i did do inquiries, and so communicated by email with the presidents and officers of respective sport governing bodies. They emailed me back the journals indicating either results or relevant information. These are not immediately verifiable online but can be by contacting the sources i received the publications from. Does this invalidate the article entirely or is there any format these results might be acceptable? Thanks again for your time and advice. Dragonboat Ronin (talk) 06:01, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Dragonboat Ronin, I cannot possibly evaluate the reliability of the sources that you propose to use until you actually post a draft somewhere on Wikipedia. In order to establish the notability of the topic, you must provide references to independent, reliable sources. Therefore, sources published by dragonboat racing organizations are not acceptable for establishing notability, because they are not independent of dragonboat racing. You need sources independent of dragonboat racing organizations that discuss speed records in dragonboat racing. If these sources do not exist, then neither should your proposed article. Have you read and studied Your first article? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 06:41, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Dragonboat Ronin we already have an article at International Dragon Boat Federation - have you read it? You also added some promotional copyright to your article from [1]. Doug Weller talk 07:42, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
Good morning (from east Canada). Essentially i am hoping to publish an article on fastest dragonboat race times and world records. Ideally something similar to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_world_records_in_swimming There are many independent sources about the sport, though only dragonboat racing organizations ratify race results and fastest times. Please note again; the earlier draft i was working on was not intended as anything even remotely ready for publication. I was using it to try and learn the wikipedia editor and had thought my sandbox was viewable by me only. The visual editor does not seem to have the 'show preview' button that source editing has; the only option is 'publish', so i was posting live without realizing. Mr. Weller, regarding the promotional copyright i had, this source was used for the historical information it provided. I don't have any affiliation with it personally and can reference the same information elsewhere if that source is not valid. Regarding myself, i am a retired dragonboat athlete but i don't have any affiliation with any dragonboat organizations and am not compensated for anything hoping to post. I am a member in a few dragonboat clubs but not active at the moment. That said i'm getting a strong sense from you folks that anything i hope to publish may be insufficient before i even post it. I wonder if i could submit you a copy of the source code i wrote so you could preview it, tho i don't think i have right to ask that of you. If you think there is no chance, do you recommend another platform i might try to publish? Regards, Dragonboat Ronin (talk) 15:49, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Dragonboat Ronin, you did not answer my question about whether you have read and studied Your first article. You state that there are "many independent sources about the sport" but you do not provide any links to such sources so that they can be assessed. I am trying to be helpful but you are secretive about your plans. So, here is my advice to you: Post an initial draft that is in full compliance with WP:YFA and then ask for advice. If you do not want to comply with Wikipedia's stringent standards, then Fandom (website) is an alternative you may want to consider. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:05, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
Greetings Jim. I apologize; not trying to be secretive at all. Yes i've read the first article guidelines. I'll try to figure out how to correct the syntax in my draft on my own and see if anything is worthy to publish here. Regards, Dragonboat Ronin (talk) 18:29, 15 December 2019 (UTC)

Editing Request
I do not want to be an editor. I tried to add a TV credit and it was too confusing.
The inclusion is not a big deal. It is a character actor who should get another credit on his page.
I was watching Perry Mason, Season 2, Episode 28, 1959. I often look up actors on Wikipedia. Actor Arthur Space plays character James Morrow Sr.
Can anyone check it out and add the citation? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Space
Thanks,

Speedy deletion nomination of INTV
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on INTV, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a foreign language article that has essentially the same content as an article on another Wikimedia Foundation project. Please see Wikipedia:Translation to learn about requests for, and coordination of, translations from foreign-language Wikipedias into English.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Sheesh! I heard RFA could be a vicious place, but you've stooped so low!
How could you?
How simply could you?
How could you stoop so low with this description of me?
Did you not appreciate the harm it could do to to my self esteem, to my family and to my fans fan, and to me by referring to me by that horrible word as a.... - no, I can't bring myself to say it - well, by referring to me as a (lowers voice, nobody listening?), well, as a "senior citizen"? Oh, the hurt you've caused!
I have to warn you: I've spent today drafting my report to ArbCom. I've read this guidance and this procedural manual and I know I have a valid case against you for what you said. This is surely a personal attack of the most egregious kind, pure and simple, with the only possible mitigating circumstances being that you described us both as "among the most trustworthy people imaginable"
, and I suppose I should thank you for that and might concede that you could have a point there. But I expect you'll now just go off and find some way to hire a wikilawyer and make this case drag out for a year or two before it's fully heard, won't you? Won't you? By then you'll just end up being, errm, in the right, and I guess I'll just look like a fool - and an aged one at that. I can't bear it. So until then, you just watch your language!

Regarding a draft
Hello dear Cullen I hope you have a great time I created my first article in my sandbox, would you help me and check it please? Since you have a lot of experience Thank you so much for your kindness I am looking forward to hearing from you
Best regards Childprotection (talk) 21:57, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, Childprotection. Your draft article is located at User:Childprotection/sandbox. The most obvious problem that I see is that you have excessive external links which, according to that guideline, "should not normally be placed in the body of an article". A very limited number of external links can be in a separate section at the end of an article. For a biography, that would usually be the person's website or primary social media account.
- There are also some minor errors in your English prose, which I would be happy to correct for you once you remove the excessive external links.
- At that point, you should submit your draft to the Articles for Creation process for review by other editors. Good luck. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 22:17, 26 January 2020 (UTC)

George Remus
Hi Cullen, I've done a lot of research on George Remus and am trying to figure out why there is an issue with mentioning a spirit that is named after him? I was updating his recent notoriety, with two books published and a spirit named after him. I took the external site off and reposted, but am now getting called out for not citing. I've also fixed other errors on the page, such as date of birth, place of birth and more. Just trying to add relevant info. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Remushistory (talk • contribs) 04:47, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
- Please state whatever connection you have with the company that produces this liquor. Your behavior looks to me like that of a spammer, but I am willing to be convinced otherwise. What is certain is that you are a "new editor" with a promotional username who can create a reference in your first edit. That looks suspicious.Cullen328 Let's discuss it 04:52, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
I just find the Remus story fascinating, have read all the books, tracked his ancestry, collect the bourbons, visited Cincinnati Prohibition underground tunnels and Price Hill Historical Society, have read most articles about his rise and fall via newspapers.com. However you want to handle it is fine by me. I responded to your concern by taking the external site off, then got hit by someone else for not citing it, so I wasn't sure how to proceed. Newbies gonna newbie, I guess. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Remushistory (talk • contribs) 05:06, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
- Remushistory, you did not ask my direct question, so I will repeat it for emphasis:

Staying off John from Idegon
You'll have to excuse me not actually reading the profanity-laced rant very carefully. He didn't even seem to know who he was talking to. I have reopened his closure on ANI so that we may have a public venue for any further profanity. Elizium23 (talk) 21:23, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
- There is no excuse for failing to notice that you have been asked twice not to post on that editor's talk page. I do not like profanity in Wikipedia discussions myself but it is not forbidden. Please do not tilt at windmills, Elizium23. `Cullen328 Let's discuss it
- Well, I apologize, but I honestly did not realize until you told me. Profanity is incivil in my book, when directed at an editor. Once again, let's have it out on ANI. Elizium23 (talk) 21:29, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker)...or you could go and review an article for WP:GA? That seems to be a better use of your time. CassiantoTalk 21:52, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

References
Hello dear Cullen
I hope you have a great time Thank you for your advise and kidness I removed the extra link in the article But I have a question about references in Wikipedia Could I use the Persians references in the article since I could not find English references?
Best Regards Childprotection (talk) 21:42, 31 January 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, Childprotection. English references are preferred if available. If not, references in any language are acceptable. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 23:04, 31 January 2020 (UTC)

- Following a request for comment, partial blocks are now enabled on the English Wikipedia. This functionality allows administrators to block users from editing specific pages or namespaces rather than the entire site. A draft policy is being workshopped at Wikipedia:Partial blocks.
- The request for comment seeking the community's sentiment for a binding desysop procedure closed with
wide-spread support for an alternative desysoping procedure based on community input
. No proposed process received consensus.
- Twinkle now supports partial blocking. There is a small checkbox that toggles the "partial" status for both blocks and templating. There is currently one template: {{uw-pblock}}.
- When trying to move a page, if the target title already exists then a warning message is shown. The warning message will now include a link to the target title. [3]
- Following a recent arbitration case, the Arbitration Committee reminded administrators
that checkuser and oversight blocks must not be reversed or modified without prior consultation with the checkuser or oversighter who placed the block, the respective functionary team, or the Arbitration Committee.

- Voting in the 2020 Steward elections will begin on 08 February 2020, 14:00 (UTC) and end on 28 February 2020, 13:59 (UTC). The confirmation process of current stewards is being held in parallel. You can automatically check your eligibility to vote.

GDX420
Thank you for your assistance in preventing further disruptive acts by User:GDX420. With regards to his speedy AfD notices which were raised incorrectly on Horizons Gorwelion and Welsh Wildlife Centre - what is the best way to proceed? I have submitted the deletion articles themselves for deletion (miscellany) due to the improper process. Should the AfD notice be deleted from each of the above articles or do I need to wait for someone to act? Many thanks. Llemiles (talk) 19:43, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, Llemiles. Those are standard AfD nominations. Please let the process play out. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 20:27, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
Modbiotics
Hi Jim,
Yes, the draft I started is called MODBIOTICS. I'm struggling to find it as it has been a few months since I worked on it. There also seems to be some concern from others about the content. The term 'modbiotic' is a trademarked term to describe the action of how certain foods work inside the digestive system. The references are all scientific articles describing this process but don't use the term 'modbiotic' as it is not a scientific term. The reason why this term was created and trademarked is because such a term has never existed before to described this specific action. Is this still notable in terms of wikipedia's conditions? Lizmo1977Lizmo1977 (talk) 21:33, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, Lizmo1977. As I told you at the Teahouse, your draft is located at Draft:Modbiotics and it is right in your edit history. What you seem to be discussing is a classic case of a neologism created for marketing reasons. Please read WP:NOTNEO. Unless the specific topic "Modbiotics" has received significant coverage in reliable sources that have no connection to the business that trademarked the term, then it is not eligible for coverage in Wikipedia under that title. Perhaps an article about the scientific concept might possibly be appropriate but the article would have a different title. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 00:14, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
Just to let you know
Hi, just in case you missed my comments on the article's talk page, i said that i had no problem with dealing with this information in the body : [4]. Best.---Wikaviani (talk) (contribs) 00:19, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
- Wikaviani, I am glad that you aren't trying to add back that pointy content because you ought to know that biographies of this length and detail almost never mention the person's country of university education in the lead. His education is described accurately in the next section where it belongs. It was added to the lead five days ago by an editor who made it clear that it was for purposes of "irony". I hope you know that motivation is wrong. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 02:46, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your reply. My goal was not to add a pointy detail to the lead, i just wanted to give an extra insight to our readers about Javad Zarif, i suggest we keep discussing on the article's talk page to keep the discussion centralized. Again, thank you for the time you spent replying to my post. Cheers.---Wikaviani (talk) (contribs) 19:35, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
