The article Spring Hill, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Article is false; Spring Hill was a mine, not a community: [1]. No other mentions of Spring Hill could be found, so it was a non-notable mine. Fails WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG; GNIS does not count for notability.

The article The Oaks, Nevada County, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. Nondescript name makes it hopeless to search for information, but absolutely nothing about a "community" of The Oaks could be found anywhere. Satellite view shows a residential area of Grass Valley, so maybe this was a subdivision. In that case WP:GNG applies, and it is failed completely (there is no coverage of this place and GNIS does not establish notability).

The article Farad, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. GNIS does not establish notability; reference 2 is a trivial mention as a site of river data collection; reference 3 is an unreliable GNIS regurgitator, and reference 4 is both broken and unreliable (WordPress). This appears to have just been a railway point beside the hydroelectric station; no other information found.

The article Jones Bar, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. All mentions of this site that could be found were passing, always referring to it as a point on the river or the site of a bridge, and not a "community". Not mentioned at all in Lardner and Brock's History of Placer and Nevada Counties, or in the Arcadia Publishing books. Not a community; fails WP:GEOLAND and also fails WP:GNG due to lack of significant coverage. Sources sited are insufficient for notability.

The article Malakoff, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable, possibly nonexistent location. I can find plenty of references to Malakoff Diggings State Historic Park, of course, and to Malakoff Mining District and the Malakoff Mine, but nothing to a "community" or "settlement" of Malakoff. This makes me think this was nothing more than a hydraulic mining site, and not a settlement. I could accept a redirect to Malakoff Diggings State Historic Park, but I think it would be better to simply delete this uninformative stub.

The article Prosser, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No information found, not a notable location. No mentions in Lardner and Brock's history of Nevada County, nor in Brower's Gold Rush Towns of Nevada County. No mentions at all, save for the two references cited (which are unreliable and insufficient for notability). Fails WP:GNG and WP:GEOLAND and possibly WP:V as well since there is zero information about this place.

The article Prosser Creek, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not a notable location; no information found. I can find several references to a Prosser Creek Charter School, but that seems to have no connection to this settlement. Not one mention in the two histories of Nevada County that I consulted. Sources cited are insufficient for notability; satellite view shows railroad track next to I80, no sign of any community or any ruins of a community. Fails WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG.

The article Providence, Nevada County, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This was not a settlement; it was just a non-notable mine: [2]. That was the only significant mention of the Providence Mine that I could find; the four hits for the word Providence in Lardner and Brock's history of Nevada County were either referring to Providence, Rhode Island or to the literal definition of the word "providence". No significant coverage in papers; satellite view just shows a forested canyon with a "Providence Mine Road" nearby. Mines are subject to WP:GNG which is failed in this case due to a lack of coverage.

The article Shelby Flat, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This article is inaccurate. First of all, it was Selby Flat, not Shelby Flat: [3]. More importantly, those passing mentions are the only information about this place that could be found; there is one mention of Selby Flat as a "settlement": [4], but it is trivial and gives no information. All other mentions of Selby Flat are of a "district" (i.e. a mining site) and not a community. Without further information, this fails WP:GNG and WP:GEOLAND.

The article Eagleville, Yuba County, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location; little information found other than passing mentions. Satellite view shows a couple of houses surrounded by forest. There is another Eagleville in California (Modoc County), making it hard to unambiguously find information about this place; however, all coverage appears to be passing. Fails WP:GNG and WP:GEOLAND. The data on government representation is meaningless; such data can be provided for literally any point in California.

The article Flea Valley, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. Reference 1 is unreliable, and reference 2 specifically states "there may or may not have been a Flea Valley...". While the valley may have had the name of Flea Valley, that isn't to say that there was a town by this name: This source [5] says that Flea Valley was a stop for miners, and the site of a sawmill, but that's not the same as saying it was a "town". In absence of more information, this article should be deleted as a failure of WP:GEOLAND.

The article Eskini, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location; GNIS does not establish notability. This source: [6] suggests there was a place by this name, but says nothing about location or anything else. I'm all in favor of keeping articles about Indigenous communities that may have existed for centuries longer than current US towns, but we need some kind of documentation, and this article provides nothing.

The article Lava Beds, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location; no information found. Most likely this was a literal "lava bed" indicated as such on a map, that somehow got transcribed into GNIS. Whatever the case, the sources provided do not establish notability, and there is zero information about a Lava Beds "community" provided anywhere online. Without further information this is a clear failure of WP:GNG and WP:GEOLAND.

The article Swedes Flat, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable geographic feature; GNIS is insufficient for notability. The closest thing to significant coverage of this place I could find is [7], a fluff piece about unusually cold weather in the region in 1949. Zero evidence found that this was a "settlement" other than this: [8] suggesting there may have been a minor Gold Rush mining camp here. Without further information this site fails WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG.

The article Wagners, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable; zero information found. Sources cited do not establish notability. Satellite view of coordinates just show empty forest along Frey Ranch Road. The article South Fork, Butte County, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. Hard to find any information based on the nondescript name, but there is no significant evidence this was ever a "settlement" or anything other than a river branch, based on accessible information; cited sources are insufficient for notability. Fails WP:GNG and WP:GEOLAND.

The article Quartz, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This article is false. This was not a "former settlement", it was a railroad siding sandwiched between the highway and the Feather River: [9]. This 1947 map, and the 1948 Big Bend and 1950 Bidwell Bar topo maps, are the ONLY maps I can find showing Quartz, and in all cases there's nothing there but a rail siding. Nothing else found; GNIS is unreliable; complete failure of WP:GNG and WP:GEOLAND.

The article Pipers, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location; no information found. This place does indeed appear on the 1897 topo map as a small square of the same size as several inns and sawmills in the same general area. Nothing since then, and nothing was found in media. Probably was just a cabin or stagecoach inn. Whatever the case, we need more information than just GNIS for an article, and without such information this is a failure of WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG.

The article Richland, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not a former settlement, a non-notable railway point. And it didn't move half a mile west, the word "Richland" was printed in a different place on the 1912 vs. 1952 maps: [10]. And in both cases there is no "settlement", just a couple of scattered farm buildings. Fails WP:GEOLAND, and honestly, any user who thinks a settlement moved because its name was printed in a different place on different maps is in no position to be writing WP articles.

The article Bracut, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable and possibly nonexistent location. No mention at all in three histories of Humboldt County: [14], [15], [16]; none of those mention Brainard either, but I could at least find a couple mentions of Brainard in the Humboldt County press, whereas all mentions of Bracut were to Bracut Lumber or Bracut Building Supply (e.g. [17]). All of these were either legal notices or classified ads, which makes me believe Bracut was just a business park (as suggested by photo) co-located with Brainard. Nothing describes it as a "community" (nor Brainard, but at least that place has a couple mentions in the press). This article should be deleted as a failure of WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG; or at the very least merged into Brainard, California.

Deletion discussion about Farad, California
Hello Carlossuarez46, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Lightburst}}

The article McArthur, Modoc County, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This article is factually incorrect. McArthur is not an "unincorporated community", it is a set of grain elevators, as shown on the 1952 and 1958 USGS 1:250000 topo maps for Alturas: [18]. One clearly says "McArthur Grain Elevator" and the other says "McArthur" with "Grain Elevator" below it in slightly smaller type. Neither map, nor modern satellite images, shows a community; just a farm. Zero hits in media were found that were about this place, although plenty could be found about the actual McArthur, Shasta County, California, which is a real place quite nearby. This article is therefore confusing as well as false. Complete failure of WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG and a sloppy, low-effort one at that.

The article Adams Station, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Article is false. This isn't and never was an "unincorporated community", it was just a stagecoach inn in Gasquet: see [19] and [20]. Location is now a residential area. Since this wasn't a legally recognized populated place it fails WP:GEOLAND, and is subject to WP:GNG, which I would argue it fails (as an inn) because all coverage that could be found is trivial.

The article Camp Klamath, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. Not mentioned at all in Bledsoe's History of Del Norte County: [21], nor in the Arcadia Publishing book on same: [22]. Only two mentions in news: [23] ("from Camp Klamath to the mouth of the former slough...") and [24] ("the old Camp Klamath boat dock"). This is the definition of trivial coverage. The place does appear on the 1952 Klamath USGS topo map: [25], showing several buildings adjacent to a sawmill, suggesting this was just a mill complex. With no evidence this was a recognized populated place, it's a failure of WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG as well.

The article Douglas Park, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. No mentions in the two histories of Del Norte County that I was able to access; several mentions in local press (mostly during 1960s-70s) but all are quite cursory and uninformative, essentially confirming the place exists but providing no information. This: [26], is the closest thing I could find to significant coverage and it says almost nothing about the place. Satellite image reveals a residential area across the river from Hiouchi. Without further information this is a failure of WP:GEOLAND.

The article French Hill, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable geographic feature; does not appear to have ever been a community. Appears on various USGS topo maps as a hill: [27], sometimes with a couple of buildings (probably miners' or loggers' cabins) scattered around the area, but no permanent roads or signs of settlement. This book: [28] calls French Hill a "gold mining district", but that's not the same thing as an unincorporated community. Modern satellite view just shows empty forest. Without more information this is a failure of WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG.

The article Hoppaw, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location; no information found in either news or books on Del Norte County. It does appear on some USGS topo maps as a cluster of a few buildings, but that's not enough to establish notability, nor are the questionable sources cited in the article. Fails WP:GNG and WP:GEOLAND.

The article Rockland, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location; zero information found. Literally the only mention of Rockland I could find (besides sites that scrape Wikipedia and the two cited sources, which are insufficient for notability) is the word "Rockland" on the 1922 Preston Peak USGS topo map: [29], where it appears without any buildings or infrastructure of any kind. This is not and never was a "community", so the article is plainly false, as well as a failure of WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG.

The article Lawyers Bar, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location; no information found anywhere. The 1922 Preston Hill USGS topo map does show a Lawyers Bar with four buildings: [30], but that does not establish that this was a community of any sort. With no other information other than the unreliable sources cited, this is a failure of WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG.

The article Date City, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. No mention in Farr's history of Imperial County: [32], and since nearby Calipatria, California was also known as Date City at one time, this article is confusing. Fails WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG; cited sources are insufficient for notability.

The article Dixieland, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location. Having a bunch of other stuff nearby does not make a place notable; stitching these other things together to pad out a stub is WP:OR. No information found; in all likelihood this was just a non-notable railraod point. Fails WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG; GNIS and maps are insufficient for notability.

The article Meloland, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable location; being located on a railroad and being in GNIS do not confer notability. Only reference 3 could conceivably be a marker of notability, and that website mentions Meloland only once ("formerly known as Meloland Field Station..."). No information found other than this one passing mention; fails WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG.

The article Munyon, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Thoroughly non-notable location; satellite view shows just a single school surrounded by farm fields with literally no other structures; clearly not a "community". Cited sources are insufficient for notability, and reference 3 (the school's website) does not mention Munyon at all. Obvious failure of WP:GEOLAND and WP:GNG.
