[edit]Thanks for your time. Please elaborate me with example, what need to be done. I am new here.
- Abs arka - Thanks for posting your note. First you would need to disclose your affiliation with the subject. You have already stated you have a conflict of interest, but you should read WP:PAY and if this applies to you then make the appropriate disclosure. Once you have done so, I will be more than happy to walk you through what needs to be done with your draft before it can be moved into the main space. --CNMall41 (talk) 19:47, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

Hello, I see that my draft for "Gautam Sen" has been rejected. Please guide me as to what more references/ citations I require to submit. ( this is my first real submission and I am not very experienced at this.) Please note the following links ( that are already in my draft) that shows he is a respected author/ journalist with a long list of published books - [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] Gautam Sen’s book wins Grand Prix for the Most Beautiful Book of the Year: http://evoindia.com/gautam-sens-book-wins-grand-prix-beautiful-book-year/</ref>

- Hi, Abhijit9297. The first issue that needs addressing is the referencing. There are senctions of the submission that talk about the subject but do not have a reference supporting them. For instance, this section:
- In 1986 Sen left Maruti Udyog to join Business Press Pvt Ltd to start India’s first newsstand automobile magazine, The Indian Auto Journal, with the first issue released in September 1986. In 1988 The Indian Auto Journal was renamed Indian Auto. In 1992, Sen left Business Press Pvt Ltd to join the Business India Group. In 1993, the Business India Group launched the magazine Auto India, with Gautam Sen as the magazine’s Editor. On its launch, Auto India immediately went on to become India’s highest circulating automobile magazine, as per the ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulation) audited figures, a status it retained for the next six years. In 1996, Gautam Sen moved to Paris, to manage the project of designing and developing a new small sports car for San Engineering & Locomotive Ltd, with the Le Mans Design Group. At the same time he also remained the Editor of Auto India magazine, till 1997, when he became the Consulting Editor of the magazine, as he concentrated more on automotive design and development projects in France.
- Please have a look at this page which explains how and why citations should be placed at the end of such content. From the rest of the submission, I see that you are familiar with how to do that already - as some of the content already has inline citations - but you will need to do it for the entire page. Once you have done so, please let me know and I will gladly review it again. Thanks and good luck. --CNMall41 (talk) 19:46, 6 January 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Dear CNMall41,
Thank you for taking time to look into my submission, and for contacting Wikipedia:WikiProject Germany for further clarification. I know German sources are not ideal. I did, however, pay close attention to make sure all sources met Wikipedia source requirements. I don't know if it makes a difference, but the subject of the article does have an existing page in German. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help with the process. Thanks for all the hard work! Ajmeldem (talk) 19:25, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
- Than you, Ajmeldem. I cleaned up the tone of the submission and moved it live. I also linked it to the German page and updated the Wikidata information. - Ajmeldem Thanks again and sorry to keep bugging you. Looks like someone already reviewed the draft and made it live. I normally like to reach out in the event of sources being in a language other than English since that is the only language I speak or read. Thanks again. --CNMall41 (talk) 21:00, 24 January 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hi CNMall41, Thank you very much for taking the time to review my submission of "Slido". I elaborated on your comments trying to concise the lengthy content which might have been irrelevant (sorry). I am new to Wikipedia, so any help will be much appreciated :). - Thanks leaving a message. It appears that another editor has since reviewed the page and also declined it, even with your new edits. I would suggest paying closing attention to the links at the top of the page such as those on reliable sources, advertising, etc. Once you look through those and edit the draft accordingly, please resubmit for someone to review. Good luck! --CNMall41 (talk) 22:36, 15 January 2018 (UTC)

Draft: Heat Of Damage
[edit]Hi CNMall41, I have corrected the referencing on the draft page Heat Of Damage. Please review again. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by BalderCharles (talk • contribs) 01:02, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. I took another look and left a message on the draft for you to review. --CNMall41 (talk) 20:57, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
Hi CNMall41,
My best judgment indicates to me that Heat Of Damage is notable according to Wikipedia criteria. Criteria 1 - "been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself" - the band has been featured in several publications specializing in music and music reviews. Some of these are cited in the draft article, others are not, such as an interview with tattoo.com[1]. The band's first record was reviewed by several organizations including MetalHolic magazine [2] and Rock Revolt Magazine, who featured the band again later to discuss newer material[3].. The band has been interviewed by talk shows across the country, such as BODS Mayhem Hour (has interviewed notable musicians such as Phil Anselmo and Zakk Wylde) of Kentucky [4] and KJAG Radio of Kansas [5].
In a sense, however loosely, the band fits Criteria 5, as they are professionally represented by Distilled Entertainment, who from what I understand represent Neil Turbin, the original vocalist of famed Metal band Anthrax, and who at one point managed former Iron Maiden vocalist Blayze Bailey and rapper DMX [6].
Criteria 7 - "Has become one of the most prominent representatives of a notable style or the most prominent of the local scene of a city" - the band, based in Sacramento, is one of the most prominent examples of both metal and youth in their city. Tying in with loosely with Criteria 8, winning an award, or perhaps better with Criteria 9, placing in an esteemed music competition, the band's Sacramento Area Music Award is indicative of their prowess in the area as well as their recognition by the community. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BalderCharles (talk • contribs) 05:36, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi. I used to pick strawberries when I was a kid (for a living). What's your connection to Driscolls's? Youngnoah (talk) 21:49, 29 January 2018 (UTC)Youngnoah
- Driscoll's is sitting in my fridge at the moment. They are the dominant brand being sold where I live. You used to pick for Driscoll's? Any idea where I can get some images for the page? I see a few in Flickr but I'm looking for some more historical images which I doubt I will be able to find. Also, in case you didn't see I changed the hyperlink you put in the opening paragraph that led directly to Mike Reiter. The link was proper, but I kept the text shortened to "Reiter" since it was more than just him involved in the company throughout its history. Finally, if you are interested, I started a page for the "Banner" strawberry which you can see here. Feel free to work on it if you wish. Would love to collaborate. --CNMall41 (talk) 22:04, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

I thought that might be the best solution (adding to Krishna Kumari (princess)). However, I only found that because I looked up her father, something most seekers of information might not think of. Therefore, will it be all right to make a redirect under Kishen Kower, where most are likely to look?

Request for Realtor.com article
[edit]Greetings, CNMall41. On behalf of Move, I am still looking for a neutral editor to assist with reviewing a proposed draft to replace the current Realtor.com article. I have made many improvements and trims to the draft I put forth back in September, based on feedback from a few editors. I see you are an active editor and member of WikiProject Companies. I am curious if you might be willing to take a look at the proposed draft and copy over content appropriately. If not, I will try to find other WikiProject Companies participants who may be able to help. Thanks for your consideration. Inkian Jason (talk) 16:42, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
- Inkian Jason - I took a look at the proposed draft and it is a great improvement of the current page. The only issue I have is that it appears you are already engaging in a conversation with an editor on the talk of both articles. If Spintendo has no issue with another editor taking a look, I will be happy to do so. But, only if, as I am not sure if your message here would constitute WP:CAN or not, being that you left it here with a single editor. --CNMall41 (talk) 18:25, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for complimenting the draft and offering to help. Sorry, I am not trying to canvass, or go around any specific editors; my hope is to get feedback from more editors, especially since I was not getting replies to my pings on the article's talk page. Several editors have participated in edit request discussions on the article's talk page, and I would welcome any of them to return with their thoughts or concerns. If you decide you're up for the task of implementing the draft appropriately, of course you are more than welcome to ping other editors so they can participate in the discussion. Thanks, Inkian Jason (talk) 18:21, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry. I didn't mean the comment to accuse you of canvassing. I meant that I didn't want others to see it as canvassing. Since one editor seems to have declined to implement many of the changes, I don't want to create an appearance of canvassing. If the editor - pinged above - doesn't object, I would be glad to review and implement what could be implemented (this doesn't mean it would be implemented as a whole as I would need to review the references more in detail). Other than that, I wouldn't want to get involved as it looks like they have already spent a great deal of time reviewing the drafts. --CNMall41 (talk) 18:26, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- Sure, I understand. I invite you to review the draft's sourcing in detail, as well as the previous edit requests. Please keep in mind, some editor comments are about previous versions of the draft, so you might take a look at the edits that have been made since then. If User:Spintendo has not replied here in 2 days, I am not sure they will, but you could ping them on the article's talk page if you think that is best. More than one editor has complimented the draft, so I'm really looking for additional feedback and forward movement from any editors who are willing to help out. Thanks again for your consideration. Inkian Jason (talk) 22:01, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- I understand you have discussed with others. I also pinged Spintendo already (and again now) and I am familiar with what I can and cannot do on Wikipedia. To be clear, I am not comfortable doing ANYTHING unless the editor EXPRESSLY states they have no objection with me reviewing the content. This is not about Wikipedia guidelines with me. It is about a COI issue that is already somewhat being addressed by another editor and I am not going to jump in the middle without them saying it is okay. Sorry I cannot be of more help at this point.--CNMall41 (talk) 02:56, 13 February 2018 (UTC)

The request begins with "I am still looking for a neutral editor to assist with reviewing a proposed draft to replace the current Realtor.com article. I have made many improvements and trims to the draft I put forth back in September.."
The fact is that a neutral editor did review this re-write and found that additions were acceptable. Additions which I made to the article. Subsequent to this, additional requests were made to add more facts and figures to beef up the article. These items, even if true and verifiable, would not automatically be made suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia.[1] The later proposals in this request constituted minutely detailed ephemera which would not have improved the article. An article should not become a complete exposition of all possible details, but rather, a summary of accepted knowledge regarding its subject.[2] Verifiable and sourced statements like the ones in this request were reviewed according to their appropriate weight[3] and were found, based on their weight, to be insufficient for inclusion in the article. The statement above makes it seem as if there is new material being proposed here (i.e., "I am still looking for an editor to assist in reviewing....have made many improvements...."
) but I believe this may be asking for a WP:THIRDOPINION (3rd Op), in which case a review may indeed proceed, as long as it follows the guidelines set in place for 3rd Op Regards, Spintendo 00:04, 14 February 2018 (UTC)

- Thanks, Spintendo. Inkian Jason, looking further, the sentence "still looking for a neutral editor" sounds pretty bad since a neutral editor did already review the content. I would suggest that you follow the 3rd Option as stated above and begin the discussion on the talk page. It looks like you made a request which was declined, then no further dialog was attempted. It sounds like you should probably start there and then request a 3rd opinion if you cannot come to an agreement on what you would like to add to the page. --CNMall41 (talk) 04:24, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
- Spintendo, please accept my apology. By asking for another "neutral" editor, I only meant "uninvolved", not that you have any particular bias. I had come to CNMall41 looking for input about converting the bullet points to prose, given the lack to response to my request. Alternatively, CNMall41, I can go the 3rd opinion route, if you'd prefer to remain uninvolved. It remains my goal to improve the existing article, which is still in poor shape. Inkian Jason (talk) 21:44, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
- At this point, I think remaining uninvolved is the best. On a side note, I am curious why you chose me particularly to reach out to. --CNMall41 (talk) 04:07, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
- I am sorry to hear, but I understand. I reached out to you as a member of WikiProject Companies. - I was looking for an active editor and member of WikiProject Companies. Many of the listed members appear to be inactive or edit sporadically. I'll consider my options and leave you alone, per your request. Take care, Inkian Jason (talk) 20:07, 15 February 2018 (UTC)

- Oh, perhaps I misunderstood? Above you said you'd prefer to be uninvolved and suggested going to "3O", so I'd thought you meant you would like to stay out of things at this point. Of course, if you'd still like to look over the draft you'd be more than welcome so far as I am concerned! Either way, sorry for any confusion. Inkian Jason (talk) 21:54, 15 February 2018 (UTC)

Please comment on Talk:Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster
[edit]The feedback request service is asking for participation in this request for comment on Talk:Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster. Legobot (talk) 04:24, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
I'm confused over the rejection of the article. I don't often contribute to wikipedia, and I definitely don't enjoy wasting my time. If the article is deficient in some way, please let me know. Else, approve of it.
The stated notion that the subject of the article is not noteworthy is obviously erroneous. The subject, David Hildebrand, is listed as a candidate for U.S. Senate in California on more than one page on Wikipedia already and has been featured in news reporting, including those cited on the draft page along with others. California has a population of 36 million people. If our statewide elections are not noteworthy subjects of this encyclopedia, then your standards are objectively poor.
Thanks
Jon Ivy (talk) 06:09, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, Jonivy. From your tone, it sounds like you are not confused, but upset that the draft was not approved. If you don't enjoy wasting your time, I would suggest that you don't. If you would like to contribute to Wikipedia, there are rules that need to be followed and guidelines that need to be met. You are correct in that statewide elections are notworthy and therefore covered in Wikipedia as you can see with United States Senate election in California, 2018. The problem is that not all candidates are considered notable for Wikipedia. The references you provided show that he is a candidate, but that he has not won. Based on that criteria, he would not be notable for his own page. If you have other references which show he is notable for something other than being a candidate, please include those in the page and then resubmit. --CNMall41 (talk) 04:30, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry, my bad for trying to use this process. You obviously don't understand the rules, and by your tone, I can tell you don't have the qualifications to edit anything I write. Thanks for your time, all the same. Jon Ivy (talk) 05:47, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
- My tone reflects your tone. Don't expect anyone here to be nice to you when you state things like "obviously erroneous" and "objectively poor." And if you were using the process, you would have read the comment from the person who originally denied the draft and then went and fixed it instead of simply resubmitting it. Also, I don't deal with people talking to me like I must obey their every word. Your passive aggressiveness will get you about as far as your editing has - no where. --CNMall41 (talk) 06:03, 14 February 2018 (UTC)

Hello CNMall41! (And my apologies for the late response to your review of the proposed Student Loan Hero article -- as I mentioned to another Wikipedia editor, although I work at Student Loan Hero, I am doing this as my own project and not as part of my work).
I do believe that Student Loan Hero is notable enough to make the cut, and that I'm just not providing the right references, so thank you very much for you comment about the kind of citations you need to approve this. While I mentioned before that many similar companies (similar in size and mission) are on Wikipedia, I think my better argument for notability would be all the Student Loan Hero studies cited by major media. For example:
USA Today wrote an article and created a video based on our study (both here):
CNBC wrote up another survey of ours: https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/17/the-surprising-ways-student-loans-can-affect-your-sex-life.html
The Austin American-Statesman wrote up yet another: http://www.statesman.com/news/local/austin-named-top-city-for-paying-off-debt-you-can-resist-the-temptation-spend-barbecue/QWBg4AVSxwfcdEtI6HXmpN/

For whatever it's worth, our company has also been talked about extensively in coverage of our CEO -- I realize this would really just be relevant if this were an article about him, but maybe it helps that he's always mentioned in the context of Student Loan Hero rather than for anything else. Anyway, here's a sampling of coverage of him (and the company):

- Thanks for providing the additional information, Mike Kitchen. I did see these references and also looked at them again. While they do mention the subject, they do not satisfy WP:CORPDEPTH in my opinion. You are more than welcome to request a second opinion at the Teahouse. --CNMall41 (talk) 03:02, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
Thanks CNMall41 -- I very much appreciate your feedback. If you have time, could you offer me any suggestions on how to meet the criteria? I do feel that what I have does go to satisfy WP:CORPDEPTH, since it includes major national media (CNBC, Business Insider) and that there are enough of them to qualify under the stated requirement "If the depth of coverage is not substantial, then multiple independent sources should be cited to establish notability."
Specifically, would it work if I amend the article to speak more about the studies that Student Loan Hero does (as these are cited in many of the references I give), or to include more info from the coverage that's exclusively about Student Loan Hero (i.e., LendEdu, EdTech Times, etc)?
Any direction you can offer would be much appreciated, though I am also fine to go to the Teahouse if you'd rather pass on this. Again, thanks much either way Mike Kitchen (talk) 23:14, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the additional comments. I would focus on introducing more coverage that is directly about Student Loan Hero and not just mentions or quotes. I took another look and still feel that the company doesn't meet notability guidelines. However, that is just my opinion and you are free to seek a second. --CNMall41 (talk) 22:54, 6 March 2018 (UTC)

[edit]On 14 March 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Lion Forge Comics, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Lion Forge Comics. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Lion Forge Comics), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Tagging of Draft:Turaj the Pupil
[edit]I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Draft:Turaj the Pupil. I do not think that Draft:Turaj the Pupil fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because This is perfectly comprehensible, not even close to the "patent nonsense" needed for A1 to apply. If this were an article A7 would apply, and it is hard to conceive of how this could become a valid article. But it fits no CSD at this time, in my view.. I request that you consider not re-tagging Draft:Turaj the Pupil for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 21:14, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- DESiegel This was more of content that - "while apparently intended to mean something, is so confusing that no reasonable person can be expected to make any sense of it" - which IMHO met the criteria. Here is the text: "Turaj the Pupil Turaj is from Iran he is a 20 year old English teacher who is taking violin and tanbur class on youtube . he is istudying in engeanering major. but the most important thing in his life is being a real mystyc so he calls himself pupil of plato. isnt he dead like 2000 years ago? still he belives that he can recive plato's thoghts throgh his books as much as he can recive from him and in the same amount." If you can tell me what this means, then I apologize. However, there isn't a single reference I can find for anything related to the "topic" the writer attempts to present, which again is "so confusing" I cannot make any sense of it. --CNMall41 (talk) 21:23, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- I have no problem making sense of it, it describes a person who teaches English, studios engineering and music, and thinks of himself as a mystic. There are indeed no cited sources, and no evidence of notability, but none of those make this a speedy deletion candidate. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 21:28, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- Agree to disagree I guess because I would say that's far from being comprehensible in my opinion. I understand your decline reason, but wanted you to understand my nomination reason. It wasn't blindly done. If you can understand the context of what was written, hats off because I would only be able to assume without having any references to tie the context to.
- Are you are saying that we would need to go through AfD because it's a draft? It is currently a bio (I think) without any references as well. Does that only apply in the mainspace? Not trying to be combative, but would love to understand so I know how to tag things like this in the future. --CNMall41 (talk) 21:50, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

23:08:50, 28 March 2018 review of submission by Saxy61
[edit]
Saxy61 (talk) 23:08, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
I don't understand what Wikipedia is looking for. If I put too many achievements it gets declined for being too promotional. If I take them out then the article becomes not significant. Lin Rountree Wikipedia page is a good example. It's published and it's all promotional worded. The same goes for Eric Darius page. His has been flagged for being too promotional for a long time and no one has rejected or removed his page. I just want the Wikipedia process to be consistent and fair. What improvements can I do to get this page published?Saxy61 (talk) 23:08, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- Saxy61 - Both musicians you name above meet guidelines for notability based on having music on a national music chart (see WP:BAND, criteria #2). Does Kris Brownlee have the same? If so, I would recommend adding that to the draft along with a reference to either Billboard or another reliable source showing that he does. Also, you say that the draft you created was originally declined for being too promotional. I do not see that in the history so can you please let me know the name of the account you used on the previous submission or maybe a link to the one you did that was declined for being promotional? --CNMall41 (talk) 20:33, 29 March 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for your input. Now that I know what Wikipedia is looking for, I'll find sources to make the appropriate changes to this page. Thank you!Saxy61 (talk) 17:10, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, Saxy61. Please feel free to stop by and ask any questions you may have about references you find. You can also use the WP:TEAHOUSE where there are more editors who can provide you an opinion. Good luck! --CNMall41 (talk) 19:09, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
Declined submission: Criticker.com
[edit]Hi CNMall41, Our submission for Criticker.com was declined recently, and I was hoping to get some more insight. It looks like the reasoning was the requirement for "significant coverage". I referenced articles from rather large publications like CNET, Lifehacker, PCMag, and ReadWriteWeb. You mentioned that the Lifehacker and PCMag articles are mirrors of each other, but they have different content and were written by different authors (Jason Fitzpatrick, Lifehacker; Alan Henry, PCMag).
I'm new to Wikipedia, and would appreciate any advice you might have in getting this submission approved. A similar site to ours, Letterboxd, has a Wikipedia page, despite having fewer sources (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Letterboxd) -- in fact, most of their sources simply refer back to their own site, or to aggregate directories like Alexa and Crunchbase. Criticker has been around for over ten years, and has thousands of users.
Thanks again, mpowell99 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mpowell99 (talk • contribs) 14:51, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- Mpowell99 - Thank you for reaching out to me about the draft. First, let's discuss Letterboxd. Wikipedia has many articles that are flawed but that does not mean that it is okay to create another one. Please read this which should help clear up anything related to other pages. Now, as far as significant coverage, "large" publications may be different than "reliable" publications. Please look at WP:RS for what defines a reliable source. To go even deeper, the references will need to meet WP:CORPDEPTH which means it needs to be more than just a review of the website. There needs to be significant coverage that discusses the site in detail. If you read through the links I included above, you should get a better understanding of what is required. --CNMall41 (talk) 19:08, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for the additional information. I understand that one submission with poor sources doesn't justify another. I'll try and improve the article in accordance with the links you've provided, and resubmit it later. Thanks again! -- Mpowell99 (talk) 08:42, 31 March 2018 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Flag
[edit]Hi, CNMall41.
I've noticed that you are an AfC reviewer but don't yet have the New Page Reviewer flag. Would you please consider heading over to PERM and requesting it? (check the flag requirements HERE)
As part of a larger plan to increase cooperation between New Page Patrol and Articles for creation, we are trying to get as many of the active AfC reviewers as possible under the NPR user flag (per this discussion). Unlike the AfC request list, the NPR flag carries no obligation to review new articles, so I'm not asking you to help out at New Page Patrol if you don't want to, just to request the flag.
Of course, if it is something you would be interested in, you can have a look at the NPP tutorial. Please mention that you are an active AfC reviewer in your application.

New page reviewer granted
[edit]Hello CNMall41. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia; if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.
- URGENT: Please consider helping get the huge backlog down to a manageable number of pages as soon as possible.
- Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
- Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
- Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. TonyBallioni (talk) 03:30, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

Draft Avner Halperin
[edit]Thank you for reviewing the draft I provided for Avner Halperin. I looked at what you wrote and was wondering if you could answer a few questions to help me understand what I need to do to improve the content. I am looking at the guidelines for notability and since he is a professor, would he be considered notable under academic guidelines? [1]
The guideline states that it is independent of or an alternative of general notability guidelines. If that is the case, would I still need to find sources that “talk about the subject in-depth?”
The guideline states that a person can meet criteria 1 of the guideline by showing they have authored highly cited academic work. The link for Google Scholar shows that he has been cited more than 2,000 times for his work. He has also made a significant impact in his field and outside his field as you can see he is the inventor and registered holder of many patents [2]. The Thrive Global reference also references Hebrew University.
Let me know if I can provide information that will assist. I was discussing this with Doc James on the talk page of the article but it was deleted before we finished the discussion. I am hoping that you will look at the article again and let me know if the guidelines above would apply.--BennettInCA (talk) 01:46, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
- I appreciate the explanation. I see the previous deletion was for "unambiguous advertising or promotion." I went through and cleaned up the draft, removing what would be considered WP:OR and anything promotional. Since you have a WP:COI, I strongly suggest that you do NOT edit the article directly and only request changes on the talk page. Also note that my approving the draft does not mean that someone may disagree and recommend the article for deletion. I am only one of many editors on Wikipedia. --CNMall41 (talk) 21:32, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

Gordy Haab Draft
[edit]Hello, Thank you for reviewing my re-submission. I was a bit confused when it came to resubmitting a previous draft. When I came to a page displaying a Subject/Headline, I thought that I should just say that it's a Draft for Gordy Haab. I didn't realize that it would show up as a copy of another draft. Is there a reference page where I can look at the steps to properly resubmit a draft? Any and all help is greatly appreciated! RColemanLane (talk) 12:47, 21 May 2018 (UTC)RColemanLane
- RColemanLane I believe you submitted the draft correctly. The issue came when I went to do a minor cleanup and saw that there was already a draft that existed by that name. Since there was already a draft that existed, it is best to work from that same draft instead of having two separate drafts which can confuse reviewers. Good luck. --CNMall41 (talk) 20:25, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
Mural Lingo Draft
[edit]Hi,
Thank you for the warm welcome! I would like to seek some advice from you as it has come to my attention that my page https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Draft:Mural_Lingo&action=edit&redlink=1 has been removed under Section G11. We have created the page based on our close reference to other pages belonging to similar arts organisations such as The Substation and Singapore Art Museum. We are still very new to Wikipedia and hence would like to ask which are the areas that I can work on to improve the page and make it suitable for release.
Thank you and I appreciate your assistance! Mural Lingo (talk) 08:12, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
- Mural Lingo - Thank you for the message. The first thing I can tell you is to become familiar with WP:COI. If you have a conflict of interest (sounds like you are related to the company based on your message above), you will need to make the appropriate disclosures. Next, you would need to request WP:REFUND from user RHaworth but given that it was deleted for being promotional, that is unlikely to happen. He is the admin who deleted the page and I have no authority to restore it. If it is restored by the administrator, the first thing you need to do is concentrate on writing something that isn't promotional and is more suited for an encyclopedia. This is often hard to do if you have a COI. --CNMall41 (talk) 17:42, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
NPR Newsletter No.11 25 May 2018
[edit]ACTRIAL:
- WP:ACREQ has been implemented. The flow at the feed has dropped back to the levels during the trial. However, the backlog is on the rise again so please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day; a backlog approaching 5,000 is still far too high. An effort is also needed to ensure that older unsuitable older pages at the back of the queue do not get automatically indexed for Google.
Deletion tags
- Do bear in mind that articles in the feed showing the trash can icon may have been tagged by inexperienced or non NPR rights holders. They require your further verification.
Backlog drive:
- A backlog drive will take place from 10 through 20 June. Check out our talk page at WT:NPR for more details. NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.
Editathons
- There will be a large increase in the number of editathons in June. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
Paid editing - new policy
- Now that ACTRIAL is ACREQ, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary. There is a new global WMF policy that requires paid editors to connect to their adverts.
Subject-specific notability guidelines
- The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
- Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies.
Not English
- A common issue: Pages not in English or poor, unattributed machine translations should not reside in main space even if they are stubs. Please ensure you are familiar with WP:NPPNE. Check in Google for the language and content, tag as required, then move to draft if they do have potential.
News
- Development is underway by the WMF on upgrades to the New Pages Feed, in particular ORES features that will help to identify COPYVIOs, and more granular options for selecting articles to review.
- The next issue of The Signpost has been published. The newspaper is one of the best ways to stay up to date with news and new developments. between our newsletters.

Questions on Draft Submission: Appian Corporation
[edit]Dear CNMall41,
Thanks for getting to the review so quickly for the Draft: Appian Corporation page. I can definitely do more research and provide some more in depth links. Would you be able to answer a couple of questions?
1.) You mention that, "...the current references presented are not good enough to demonstrate that notability." Was this a result of the quality of the citations provided, a lack of content, or combination of the two?
2.) If it's existing citations, which ones specifically do you think are the issue?
3.) If it's a lack of notable content, do you have any suggestions? I was thinking about including a services provided section, but felt it could have been construed as advertising. I also forgot to add internal wiki links to the BPM & case management in case people wanted to learn more.
I really appreciate your time and consideration. Please let me know if you need any more details. Thanks! Jonkatora (talk) 20:54, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for stopping by. The note I left explains my thoughts, but you should review WP:CORPDEPTH for more information. There is even a chart there which can help direct you to what to look for when it comes to references. --CNMall41 (talk) 20:58, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- CNMall, Thanks for the quick response. I was actually looking for clarification on the note you left. I wasn't sure if you were saying the references provided did not meet notability requirements or the citations were good, but there generally wasn't enough information about Appian to warrant notability. Could you please clarify? If you can help me figure out which way to go, I'll provide the revisions accordingly.
- Not sure I understand what you are looking for here. The information in the references amount to brief mentions or are routine announcements which do not amount to notability. I did not review the article for tone or anything else as without notability, the rest is moot. The first thing that needs to happen is to establish notability by included the required sources. --CNMall41 (talk) 17:02, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
- The chart is helpful, but I'm confused wether all citations meet notability requirements or is it just some of them? For some of my references, like citations from industry analysts reports and trade organization guides, I'm not sure if they qualify as 'significant' from the context of a lay person (is it the audience that considers it significant? Or can niche readers like people in IT, consider it significant (which most in that niche would consider Forrester & Gartner as significant sources)). Again, I really appreciate the help! Jonkatora (talk) 22:34, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Not all of the references you use must show notability. Some references in the draft are fine to use as they support some of the information. However, using all references that are routine announcements or brief mentions do not add up to notability. You will need to add some references that meet the requirements in the link I provided. --CNMall41 (talk) 17:02, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
- OK. That makes sense. I'll start working on getting better references. Thanks! Jonkatora (talk) 20:37, 8 June 2018 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for taking your time and label the above mentioned draft for deletion. However, Barnaba is two times award-winning for the KTMA, 2011-2012. One for Best Male Singer and other for Best Bongo Flava Song of the Year. I have been asked to expand it by User:Deb, but my time was somewhat limited to do anything with the article. I promised User:Deb I will look into it and fix it profoundly. Please let me expand it, just few days. It is just a DRAFT doensn't do any harm to nobody? Cheers!--Muddyb (talk) 06:27, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
- Muddyb - Actually, I only declined the draft. I also see that it was NOT recommended for deletion by anyone so not sure what you are talking about. The draft was also worked on by a different editor other than yourself so I am now even more confused. --CNMall41 (talk) 17:59, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
- CNMall41 - don't get confused. I was trying to explain myself over the decline matter. And my presence here was to inform you that I'm planning to expand the article a bit further, that's it. Thanks!--Muddyb (talk) 19:25, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarification. I was wondering since the page was submitted and worked on by another editor and there was no deletion discussion to be had. Good luck with the cleanup. I'd be glad to review it again once there are more significant and reliable sources added. --CNMall41 (talk) 19:30, 12 June 2018 (UTC)

The file File:Genius website logo.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unnecessary because commons:File:Genius-Wordmark.svg exists.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —SpanishSnake (talk | contribs) 00:44, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

Settlers bank page should not be deleted.
[edit]This is not a promotional page nor was it intended to be. It is and was meant to meet the Wiki guidelines as facts cited with data from other resources. I had intended to create some material then submit asking for an unbiased review and request to publish and instead it went straight to published - not sure how I did that. Any insights you can provide on why you think it's promotional would be helpful as I tried to follow what Associated Bank, BMO and others had created. I think company history pages are helpful to anyone and therefore this page should be published. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lauramael (talk • contribs) 20:18, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
- I don't have control over anything that is deleted. I only make the recommendation. Instead of moving the page directly to the mainspace, I would suggest using WP:AFC. You can create the page as a draft and submit it for review. --CNMall41 (talk) 20:23, 20 June 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Advantage Business Media logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

I submitted an entry and cited "Bloomberg Business", which has been done in (and approved) other pages. The editor cited that Bloomberg profiles are "self-published", which they are not.
I made a reference to DARPA by both Xconomy (not reliable source) and Darpa's military website (not reliable). So I researched other Darpa references and noticed most were broken links.
I'm troubled at the inconsistency by your editors and why some have different standards than others.

- Muddyb, Looks like it is in queue so someone should review it shortly. I am not that familiar with the references used so not sure I can make an objective decision. --CNMall41 (talk) 18:39, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
- CNMall41, can you direct me to some who is able to look over the references and stuff like that? Just to pick up the pace. It has been too long now.. If you don't mind.--Muddyb (talk) 09:00, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
- Muddyb, I am not sure where to direct you other than where the draft already provides for you. At the top, you will the draft notice which gives you several options including the use of "ask a question" or "live help" tab. Reviews can take quite a long time and sometimes run more than a month. There is no specific order in which reviewers take them so maybe use the talk page of AfC or the "ask a question" link provided at the top of the draft. Good luck. --CNMall41 (talk) 16:58, 2 July 2018 (UTC)

IPFire page
[edit]Hi CNMall41! Thank you for pointing out the reliability source issues with the IPFire page I am writing. It's my first time engaging in a Wikipedia page process, and even though Bachelor thesis paper seems like a harder work, I can see now that Wiki is tougher, and I truly want to get this right :) I am writing to you in hopes of asking you to clarify just a bit more what of the reference I provided are not reliable? I have managed to find a couple other sources, that I find stable in terms of information, such as Softpedia, Internet Society, Full circle and some others. Information about IPFire out there on the web are all quite inter-lapping, as there are basically the same information found everywhere, so the information is generally confirm-able on all of the websites provided more or less. I submitted the page once more, after these few adds, as it takes some time for the review to happen, and ideally I can edit the mistakes I make before that, once you hopefully and kindly point me to a direction I should be going with this :) Thank you in advance! Ivanadjunis (talk) 14:15, 26 July 2018 (UTC)Ivanadjunis
- Ivanadjunis, I included a link to WP:RS where you can find additional information. Many of the sources are WP:BLOGS and would need to be seen as WP:NEWSBLOG to even be considered a reliable source (this is just to evaluate them, not a guarantee they would be considered such). However, there are more issues than just the sourcing of the draft. It is promotional in tone and reads more like the website for the product than a Wikipedia article which needs to be neutral in tone. Since you already submitted it, we can see what another reviewer thinks. If you have additional questions, please follow the Teahouse link on your talk page.

NPR Newsletter No.12 30 July 2018
[edit]
|
Hello CNMall41, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!
- June backlog drive
Overall the June backlog drive was a success, reducing the last 3,000 or so to below 500. However, as expected, 90% of the patrolling was done by less than 10% of reviewers.
Since the drive closed, the backlog has begun to rise sharply again and is back up to nearly 1,400 already. Please help reduce this total and keep it from raising further by reviewing some articles each day.
- New technology, new rules
- New features are shortly going to be added to the Special:NewPagesFeed which include a list of drafts for review, OTRS flags for COPYVIO, and more granular filter preferences. More details can be found at this page.
- Probationary permissions: Now that PERM has been configured to allow expiry dates to all minor user rights, new NPR flag holders may sometimes be limited in the first instance to 6 months during which their work will be assessed for both quality and quantity of their reviews. This will allow admins to accord the right in borderline cases rather than make a flat out rejection.
- Current reviewers who have had the flag for longer than 6 months but have not used the permissions since they were granted will have the flag removed, but may still request to have it granted again in the future, subject to the same probationary period, if they wish to become an active reviewer.
- Editathons
- Editathons will continue through August. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
- The Signpost
- The next issue of the monthly magazine will be out soon. The newspaper is an excellent way to stay up to date with news and new developments between our newsletters. If you have special messages to be published, or if you would like to submit an article (one about NPR perhaps?), don't hesitate to contact the editorial team here.

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Marthasmith88/sandbox
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:Marthasmith88/sandbox, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be a clear copyright infringement of https://easymedicare.com/medicare-part-a-b-c-d-info. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - Chrissymad - I believe this was meant for user Marthasmith88?? I don't edit anyone's sandbox unless it is related to AfC so maybe it was from a move to draft space. I don't really recall. --CNMall41 (talk) 15:10, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

I am not sure how or why this was done as it specifically states NOT to in the code. It will be needed for other reviewers to reference. Tocher and Tocher taxidermists
[edit]Hi
My submission was declined due to unreliable sources -I wonder if you could assist me I have cited Dr Pat Morris OBE the taxidermy expert who I have met in person supplied me with the Tocher and Tocher catalogues and price lists and he is in receipt of the originals I could ask him to email you confirmation of this.
Also Joshua Mathew the writer of The Last White Hunter interviewed Donald Anderson for his book in person and was told the information about Tocher and Tocher.
If a letter or email from both Pat Morris or Joshua Mathew would help please let me know , alternatively please could could expand on what you refer to a reliable sources as I don’t think there any previous articles about Tocher and Tocher on Wikipedia. I know of 2 daughters of Herbert Tocher who are still alive and they could verify that Tocher and Tocher Taxidermy did exist and there are also many auction websites that had items for sale which I could send you links to . Other than that I’m not sure how to provide reliable sources therefore please could you advise me further.
Here is another mention of Tocher and Tocher http://geocitiessites.com/Athens/2960/people.htm

Shane Royle (talk) 21:42, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
- Shane Royle, it is not about what you can prove with Wikipedia. It comes down to what reliable sources say about the subject. A WP:RS would be from a book, news media, etc. that talks about the subject in-depth. From what I see, there are only brief mentions showing the existence. Also, sources such as GeoCities and UrbanGeoFiction are not considered reliable so they cannot be used. Finally, a letter from someone would be considered WP:OR which is also not acceptable for Wikipedia. I would recommend reading through WP:FIRST and WP:RS to help you determine what is/isn't reliable. If that doesn't help, you can always solicit other opinions from editors at the Teahouse (see the link on your talk page). Good luck. --CNMall41 (talk) 21:00, 15 August 2018 (UTC)

Skycoin page
[edit]Hi CNMall41. Thanks for commenting on the Skycoin page.
On the two occasions that the page was rejected for reading like an advertisement, the rejection notice said the page should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject".
There was no other explanation given regarding how the article reads like an advertisement.
Since I have already addressed those stated issues (i.e. neutral point of view and independent sources), could you please be more specific about why you believe the article still reads like an advertisement?
I think it reads similarly to the other 40 cryptocurrency pages already on Wikipedia - refer to list here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cryptocurrencies
I reviewed the ARTSPAM page and can't see where the Skycoin page breaches the guidelines.
Could you identify the specific guidelines that have been breached, with reference to specific sections of the Skycoin page that breach those guidelines?
Thanks!
Peak Debt (talk) 02:26, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- Peak Debt, I can read your frustration above, but I don't make the rules here on Wikipedia. You're pointing out things such as [{WP:OTHERSTUFF]] while you haven't even begun to address some of the concerns addressed such as what is/isn't a reliable source. I just took the time to go through the draft again and will get right to the heart of it.......the topic simply doesn't meet notability guidelines in my opinion. That means even if you were to create a page void of advertorial tone, the topic still would not be suitable for Wikipedia. You are more than welcome to get a second opinion but that's my stance at the moment. This is what I would consider a case of WP:TOOSOON. --CNMall41 (talk) 21:04, 15 August 2018 (UTC)

- Ubhasrk, just a heads up, there is no need to ping a user on their own talk page as they will see it in their notifications already. I took a quick look at the content and I do see some issues such as the draft reading like a resume. Why do you use so many bullet points instead of WP:PROSE? Things such as this make a draft look more promotional than like a Wikipedia page. As far as the content itself, I will leave it to someone else with more knowledge of the topic to take a look. --CNMall41 (talk) 23:32, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
Please excuse my ignorance. I am new to Wikipedia editing. I'll try to make the page look more like a Wikipedia page than a list. I am hoping that there aren't any other formatting or layout errors in the draft that I am not aware of. Thank you Ubhasrk (talk) 10:35, 27 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi CNMall41,
Thanks for the quick feedback on the page. I was sent the framework for a basic page from a colleague and asked to update it as he was surprised that I wasn't already on wikipedia. I tried to add lots of references and fill in some blanks, but the basic information is all public knowledge (and verifiable) There are lots of astronomers with wikipedia pages.
This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
Should I wait for a formal decision from the administrators after checking what is written, or should I ask my colleague to consider creating the page himself if he wants to?
Many thanks! Jasonkalirai (talk) 00:09, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
- Jasonkaliarai, thanks for the comment. You will need to disclose your conflict of interest in according with WP:DISCLOSE. That will notify reviewers of your conflict of interest so they can look closely at the content when they review. As long as you are transparent about your conflict of interest, it is fine to leave the draft for review by others. --CNMall41 (talk) 00:24, 27 August 2018 (UTC)

NPR Newsletter No.13 18 September 2018
[edit]Hello CNMall41, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!
The New Page Feed currently has 2700 unreviewed articles, up from just 500 at the start of July. For a while we were falling behind by an average of about 40 articles per day, but we have stabilised more recently. Please review some articles from the back of the queue if you can (Sort by: 'Oldest' at Special:NewPagesFeed), as we are very close to having articles older than one month.
- Project news
- The New Page Feed now has a new "Articles for Creation" option which will show drafts instead of articles in the feed, this shouldn't impact NPP activities and is part of the WMF's AfC Improvement Project.
- As part of this project, the feed will have some larger updates to functionality next month. Specifically, ORES predictions will be built in, which will automatically flag articles for potential issues such as vandalism or spam. Copyright violation detection will also be added to the new page feed. See the projects's talk page for more info.
- There are a number of coordination tasks for New Page Patrol that could use some help from experienced reviewers. See Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Coordination#Coordinator tasks for more info to see if you can help out.
- Other
- A new summary page of reliable sources has been created; Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources/Perennial sources, which summarizes existing RfCs or RSN discussions about regularly used sources.
- Moving to Draft and Page Mover
- Some unsuitable new articles can be best reviewed by moving them to the draft space, but reviewers need to do this carefully and sparingly. It is most useful for topics that look like they might have promise, but where the article as written would be unlikely to survive AfD. If the article can be easily fixed, or if the only issue is a lack of sourcing that is easily accessible, tagging or adding sources yourself is preferable. If sources do not appear to be available and the topic does not appear to be notable, tagging for deletion is preferable (PROD/AfD/CSD as appropriate). See additional guidance at WP:DRAFTIFY.
- If the user moves the draft back to mainspace, or recreates it in mainspace, please do not re-draftify the article (although swapping it to maintain the page history may be advisable in the case of copy-paste moves). AfC is optional except for editors with a clear conflict of interest.
- Articles that have been created in contravention of our paid-editing-requirements or written from a blatant NPOV perspective, or by authors with a clear COI might also be draftified at discretion.
- The best tool for draftification is User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js(info). Kindly adapt the text in the dialogue-pop-up as necessary (the default can also be changed like this). Note that if you do not have the Page Mover userright, the redirect from main will be automatically tagged as CSD R2, but in some cases it might be better to make this a redirect to a different page instead.
- The Page Mover userright can be useful for New Page Reviewers; occasionally page swapping is needed during NPR activities, and it helps avoid excessive R2 nominations which must be processed by admins. Note that the Page Mover userright has higher requirements than the NPR userright, and is generally given to users active at Requested Moves. Only reviewers who are very experienced and are also very active reviewers are likely to be granted it solely for NPP activities.

This company has not been featured in any news websites. Rather it has been featured only in press release sites. There is not much references to the info than the website content. So what should be my next steps?
Savkapil (talk) 10:26, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, Savkapil. In order to create a Wikipedia page, the topic must meet the golden rule which requires significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic. Since press releases are not considered independent, the topic would not qualify for inclusion in Wikipedia. The next steps would be to wait until the main stream media takes note of the company and writes about it. Once that happens and coverage is established that meets Wikipedia guidelines, feel free to come back and resubmit the draft. --CNMall41 (talk) 15:57, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Mophie is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mophie (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. HighKing++ 17:17, 22 September 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for the warm welcome, CNMall41. I do have a question regarding conflict of interest guidelines. I am an academic and I am intending to contribute to Wikipedia in my specific field of expertise (critical accounting research) by:
- Creating bio pages for notable scholars in this field. (The one in my sandbox is the first of about 6 or 8 that I have in mind.)
- Bringing the pages for journals in my field up to scratch, as some of them are not much better than stubs.
- Creating a 'Critical accounting research' page and linking it into the main article on accounting research.
To comply with conflict of interest guidelines, should I disclose my name and academic affiliation on my talk page? What else might be appropriate to say?
BoneClock (talk) 02:50, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
- BoneClock, thanks for the note. You do not have to disclose your real world identity on Wikipedia; however, if you have a conflict of interest as specifically stated in WP:COI, then you need to follow those guidelines. Submitting drafts through articles for creation is a good policy if you have a conflict of interest. The other thing you need to pay close attention to is WP:PAY. If you receive any type of compensation or you are doing this as part of your job you may fall into that category in which case you would be required to make a disclosure of such. Please look through both policies and make the appropriate disclosure if necessary. I can answer any additional questions you may have, or you can also reach out to the conflict of interest noticeboard for any clarifications you may need. --CNMall41 (talk) 19:40, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice. I will make the appropriate disclosures, just to be transparent, but I don't see anything in what you've said or in the guidelines that I've read that would exclude me from creating/editing these articles. These people are not family members, personal friends, etc., just professional colleagues. I will note them as such. I appreciate your guidance, as this is all new to me. 2607:FEA8:12E0:632:E0AA:D6E0:BD59:7C37 (talk) 23:24, 27 September 2018 (UTC)

AKRacing rejected article
[edit]Hello,
thank you for reviewing the article about AKRacing that has just been rejected 1 minute ago. It's been written with the best effort to resemble similar pages that have been previously approved. For instance, here's a page about SecretLab that is approved and identical in structure and content, focusing on products as that's what is of most importance: Gaming chairs from SecretLab: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secretlab Another notorious example is Razer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Razer_Inc. Warranty and certification information has been removed, and we would highly appreciate a re-review given the examples of similar approved pages. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.157.34.171 (talk) 21:38, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- This has been declined six times now, most recently by SamHolt6, and rightfully so. Please go through all of the decline notices and comments and make the changes requested. Simply removing the warranty information is not enough as it only addresses one of the comments. In addition, we base Wikipedia pages off of WP:GNG and other guidelines, not other Wikipedia pages. A good place to start is WP:FIRST which lays the foundation for creating your first Wikipedia draft. --CNMall41 (talk) 00:28, 5 October 2018 (UTC)

I'm looking into the matter, but I just wanted to leave you a message here to let you know about this in case you weren't aware. Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or any information that you could provide that would be helpful to me in determining what's going on. Pre-review vs. post-review for new articles
[edit]Hi CNMall41,
I am in the process of creating bio pages for notable accounting scholars. I created my first one and submitted it for review, because I was unsure about the norms for this kind of page. Also, I was unsure how to handle the potential CoI, because as an accounting scholar myself I will inevitably have to write/edit pages for people I know. The article I wrote is now pending review, but it could be months before that happens.
My question at this point is whether I'm following the right approach. The alternative seems to be just to create the new pages and hope no editor deletes them.
Any advice on the benefits of one approach over the other?
Thanks, BoneClock (talk) 18:57, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
- BoneClock, It is always good, especially as a beginner to Wikipedia, to submitted newly created drafts through AfC as opposed to simply creating them as articles. For anything where you have a potential COI, you should always submit through AfC, making an appropriate disclosure on the talk page. Since you state you are already doing that, you should be fine. --CNMall41 (talk) 19:59, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
- Great. Thanks for confirming that I'm on the right track. I'll be patient. :) BoneClock (talk) 20:42, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

Hello CNMall41, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!
- Backlog
As of 21 October 2018[update], there are 3650 unreviewed articles and the backlog now stretches back 51 days.
- Community Wishlist Proposal
- There is currently an ongoing discussion regarding the drafting of a Community Wishlist Proposal for the purpose of requesting bug fixes and missing/useful features to be added to the New Page Feed and Curation Toolbar.
- Please join the conversation as we only have until 29 October to draft this proposal!
- Project updates
- ORES predictions are now built-in to the feed. These automatically predict the class of an article as well as whether it may be spam, vandalism, or an attack page, and can be filtered by these criteria now allowing reviewers to better target articles that they prefer to review.
- There are now tools being tested to automatically detect copyright violations in the feed. This detector may not be accurate all the time, though, so it shouldn't be relied on 100% and will only start working on new revisions to pages, not older pages in the backlog.
- New scripts
- User:Enterprisey/cv-revdel.js(info) — A new script created for quickly placing {{copyvio-revdel}} on a page.

If there is something that I missed this time, I will take extra care to make sure it is finally fixed.
- Both references you added are interviews and not considered WP:IS. If you are able to provide some, I will gladly review. You will also need to look closer at WP:INCITE as there is still content there that is not supported by references. --CNMall41 (talk) 17:50, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Rolling Stone into Penske Media Corporation. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 23:15, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

Hello CNMall41,
- Community Wishlist Survey – NPP needs you – Vote NOW
- Community Wishlist Voting takes place 16 to 30 November for the Page Curation and New Pages Feed improvements, and other software requests. The NPP community is hoping for a good turnout in support of the requests to Santa for the tools we need. This is very important as we have been asking the Foundation for these upgrades for 4 years.
- If this proposal does not make it into the top ten, it is likely that the tools will be given no support at all for the foreseeable future. So please put in a vote today.
- We are counting on significant support not only from our own ranks, but from everyone who is concerned with maintaining a Wikipedia that is free of vandalism, promotion, flagrant financial exploitation and other pollution.
- With all 650 reviewers voting for these urgently needed improvements, our requests would be unlikely to fail. See also The Signpost Special report: 'NPP: This could be heaven or this could be hell for new users – and for the reviewers', and if you are not sure what the wish list is all about, take a sneak peek at an article in this month's upcoming issue of The Signpost which unfortunately due to staff holidays and an impending US holiday will probably not be published until after voting has closed.

ArbCom 2018 election voter message
[edit]Hello, CNMall41. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Take part in a survey
[edit]Hi CNMall41
We're working to measure the value of Wikipedia in economic terms. We want to ask you some questions about how you value being able to edit Wikipedia.
Our survey should take about 10-15 minutes of your time. We hope that you will enjoy it and find the questions interesting. All answers will be kept strictly confidential and will be anonymized before the aggregate results are published. Regretfully, we can only accept responses from people who live in the US due to restrictions in our grant-based funding.
As a reward for your participation, we will randomly pick 1 out of every 5 participants and give them $25 worth of goods of their choice from the Wikipedia store (e.g. Wikipedia themed t-shirts). Note that we can only reward you if you are based in the US.

Owenoven (talk) 20:34, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
- Well, I guess being a goat is better than an ass which is exactly how you portray yourself by leaving such a message. --CNMall41 (talk) 20:38, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
- the goat is - according to wiki's principles - a sign of appreciation, not an insult, what you have just done towards me! - which, by the way, is patatntly against the wiki's principles and etiquette. And that is the first. The second is: try to make it out why I have left you this message before saying anyting which may suggest that I am not right!
- Well, calling someone's actions "infantile" is a direct insult. If you don't like what I said, you can always report me. In the meantime, you are no longer welcome at this page so do not post here again. Bye bye. --CNMall41 (talk) 00:29, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- First of all I have not called you either 'a goat' or 'infantile' (read carefully my message). Second, I have corrected the first draft of this article, discerning its value and traced its history, protecting it from unwarranted deletion, but I just cannot do that ad infinutum. The same goes for teh fact that I cannot prevent anyone form making a dupilcate, which in this case was deleted and the article which you has decilned has no duplicate at all in the moment of your deletion. If you call this professional. OK! If you say me goodbye, tell me how to close my account because I have diffculty in doing that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Owenoven (talk • contribs) 01:08, 1 December 2018 (UTC)

It's kind of a shame; if Owenoven cared to follow the very clear instructions provided for creating a new article, he could easily find sources supporting the proposed article. I have speedily redirected the duplicate to the original, and added a source. I may get back to it at some point, and will direct the appropriate WikiProject to take it up. Cheers! bd2412 T 04:51, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- Yes. I probably would have helped if requested but once they did what they did, then claimed they didn't, it was game over for me. I know you do a lot with legal articles so maybe you could take a crack at it if you find the topic notable. Thanks for the note. --CNMall41 (talk) 04:54, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- I may be opening a can of worms, but looking at the history of that draft, it looks to me like a series of SPA sockpuppets. I have no idea why they would be producing a general-purpose draft like this, but the pattern is suspicious. bd2412 T 16:37, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- It could be they good intentions, although I would think they wouldn't be so disgruntled. Could be they want to promote something off-line and need a Wikipedia page to support? Maybe some of the links they use support their website? Who knows? I am glad you are looking into it. --CNMall41 (talk) 18:25, 1 December 2018 (UTC)

Greetings, CNMall41. You recently approved the promotion of the text for Philip Curtiss from draft to the main space. The date of your approval is noted as 30 November 2018. However, in the article's history, the record shows it was created on 5 December 2012 - and not by FloridaArmy, to whom the approval was granted, but by Milowent. Is there an explanation for this? Thanks in advance. -The Gnome (talk) 05:26, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- The Gnome, the edit history shows that Milowent created the page in 2012 (two edits) and then it was not edited again until today by Florida Army (22 edits). My approval of the page was done by a script so if the message went to the wrong page, it was done so by the script. If there is something I should be aware of or fix please let me know and I will take care of it. --CNMall41 (talk) 05:31, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- The approval notice goes to the person who submits the article as per the language "which you submitted to Articles for creation". Milowemt created the article and I aubmitted it. FloridaArmy (talk) 11:10, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- I just don't understand how an already extant article, created a long time ago, can be put through an AFC process. Isn't the script for the approval of draft articles aware of already existing articles (under the same or a similar title)? And the above input by FloridaArmy is not enlightening at all; Milowent created the article in 2012 and it was already up when, in 2018, it was approved. This is baffling. -The Gnome (talk) 11:17, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- It was not in mainspace. It was in his userspace as a draft. FloridaArmy (talk) 11:31, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- The creation of articles that make it to the main space from draft form is dated from the time they were first created as drafts? -The Gnome (talk) 11:57, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- Exactly. bd2412 T 16:38, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, BD2412. The Gnome, I wish I had a full explanation for you but you would need to reach out to whoever maintains the script as that is where the information is generated from. Its like asking me how exactly a digital camera works. My answer is simply "I don't know. I just point and shoot." Sorry I don't have a helpful answer. --CNMall41 (talk) 18:22, 1 December 2018 (UTC)

Reliable sources
[edit]Hi, you declined Draft:Zenkit yesterday with the reason that the article of Forbes is not reliable because of its author. Is there another source that might not be reliable in this Draft? I can insert other articles but maybe they will be in German. I found out that non-English sources are allowed in combination with the translation but I don't know how to set this up. Is there a template for this sort? Thanks for advice. --Jessica Lu. (talk) 10:00, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- Jessica Lu., Many of the references can be used, but they do not show notability. To show notability, the references must be in-depth when talking about the subject. They must also be independent of the subject. For instance, the same would apply to LifeHacker as it is user generated content, not independently written by the publication. You can review WP:ORGCRIT where there is a chart that will guide you through your search for reliable sources that show notability. As far as non-English sources, they are allowed as long as they meet the same criteria. The problem you may face is that many reviewers may only known English so they would not be able to review for notability based on those sources. In a situation like that, it would be good to go to the specific project with that language (WikiProject Germany, etc.) and ask on the talk page if they know a specific source to show notability. This will help you prior to implementing the reference in the draft.

- CNMall41 thank you for your recommendation. I will definitely have a look at it but the Draft is not about Zenkit as an organization. It's about the tool/software itself. Aren't there different notability guidelines? --Jessica Lu. (talk) 10:04, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- Jessica Lu., just a quick note. There is no need to ping someone on their own talk page and they will receive a notification from Wikipedia already. It'll save you some time while typing. As far as the draft, what specific guidelines are you basing your draft on?--CNMall41 (talk) 21:22, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice. It was based on the software guidelines but meanwhile, I made so many changes in regard to different advices that I'm not sure if it's still oriented on the guidelines. The section about critical reception is oriented on the Reception section of a good article featured on Wikipedia. Zenkit as a Software/Web App is already on the German Wikipedia so we hoped it's relevant to the English Wikipedia as well. But as we have more and better reliable sources in the German language it's a bit difficult to get the right reliable sources--Jessica Lu. (talk) 10:16, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
- Jessica Lu., are you talking about this essay which in fact is not a guideline? Or, are you talking about this section of company notability guidelines which is what would be used for software? I would encourage you to read the essay closer as it directs you the product section under company notability. --CNMall41 (talk) 16:10, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Teatime34/sandbox
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:Teatime34/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Kirbanzo (talk) 22:48, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, Kirbanzo, but I am unsure of why you notified me instead of the user who the sandbox belongs to. --CNMall41 (talk) 02:18, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

Creation Of A New Page
[edit]Hello, I have been asked to create a Wikipedia page for a company. I have created a draft article but I am not sure how much compliant it is with the norms of Wikipedia. I want to publish the article and not have it deleted. Can you help me remove unwanted/promotional content and create a good Wikipedia article?
Thank You --RachaelMiller10000 (talk) 11:45, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
- RachaelMiller100000, I am unsure of the name of the company you want to create the page for. If you have a draft, you are more than welcome to submit it to WP:AfC. I would recommend going through WP:FIRST prior to submission to make sure you have a handle of the requirements for the draft. --CNMall41 (talk) 00:26, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
NPR Newsletter No.16 15 December 2018
[edit]Hello CNMall41,
- Reviewer of the Year
This year's award for the Reviewer of the Year goes to Onel5969. Around on Wikipedia since 2011, their staggering number of 26,554 reviews over the past twelve months makes them, together with an additional total of 275,285 edits, one of Wikipedia's most prolific users.
- Thanks are also extended for their work to JTtheOG (15,059 reviews), Boleyn (12,760 reviews), Cwmhiraeth (9,001 reviews), Semmendinger (8,440 reviews), PRehse (8,092 reviews), Arthistorian1977 (5,306 reviews), Abishe (4,153 reviews), Barkeep49 (4,016 reviews), and Elmidae (3,615 reviews).
Cwmhiraeth, Semmendinger, Barkeep49, and Elmidae have been New Page Reviewers for less than a year — Barkeep49 for only seven months, while Boleyn, with an edit count of 250,000 since she joined Wikipedia in 2008, has been a bastion of New Page Patrol for many years.
See also the list of top 100 reviewers.
- Less good news, and an appeal for some help
The backlog is now approaching 5,000, and still rising. There are around 640 holders of the NPR flag, most of whom appear to be inactive. The 10% of the reviewers who do 90% of the work could do with some support especially as some of them are now taking a well deserved break.
- Really good news - NPR wins the Community Wishlist Survey 2019
At #1 position, the Community Wishlist poll closed on 3 December with a resounding success for NPP, reminding the WMF and the volunteer communities just how critical NPP is to maintaining a clean encyclopedia and the need for improved tools to do it. A big 'thank you' to everyone who supported the NPP proposals. See the results.
- Training video
Due to a number of changes having been made to the feed since this three-minute video was created, we have been asked by the WMF for feedback on the video with a view to getting it brought up to date to reflect the new features of the system. Please leave your comments here, particularly mentioning how helpful you find it for new reviewers.

One Humanity Against Hunger
[edit]I think this is where I ask my question. (My apologies if I'm mistaken.) I am trying to create a Wikipedia article, I recently got notification that it was not accepted "because it included copyrighted content." There were two links cited. However, I would like to note the fact that I was the one who cited the two websites/references. If I did not alter the wording enough, or something to that effect, I am happy to change it. Note that for one of the websites, I in fact used quotation marks and referenced my citation. To my understanding (and I am in academia), this is in no way using copyrighted materials because I am explicitly referencing it, not passing it off as original.
I am intending to try to publish the article again, but Wikipedia said "please first contact the user(s) who performed the action(s) listed below." So please consider this as my reaching out to you to notify you that I will rectify the issues in questions before an official re-submit. Thank you for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yemenight (talk • contribs) 22:19, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
- Yemenight (also pinging RHaworth who received a copy and paste of this same message). There was indeed a copyright issue with this draft which has even been recreated. There were some quoted passages, but there were also some that were not. Restoring it without correcting the issues is not advisable. If you are trying to create an article, I recommend that you start at WP:FIRST which will help guide you through writing style, referencing, etc. --CNMall41 (talk) 00:24, 16 December 2018 (UTC)

AsiaYo
[edit]Hi CNMall41!
I appreciate your feedback. This is my first time creating a wiki, and I will do my best to make the Wikipedia Entry about AsiaYo more objective, and less like a company website.
May I ask if it is a problem with the language used, the sources used, or something other than that? I'm reading Wiki entries from similar organizations to serve as inspiration.
If you have other quality entires that can serve as an example, I would love to spend some time reading them. :)
Thanks again,
WuYaDang (talk) 04:36, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
- WuYaDang, we base articles in Wikipedia off of guidelines, not other articles. I would suggest reading the link to the advertising guidelines I left on your page. Please also read WP:FIRST which will help you get started. However, I am curious what other articles ("entries from similar organizations") you base your draft off of. --CNMall41 (talk) 05:41, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
AirHelp
[edit]Hello CNMall41, thank you very much for the article regarding the draft i submitted Draft:AirHelp. Actually i found a lot of sources in internet, but i only select references from notable newspapers and media that (Le Figaro, BBC, The Telegraph,...).
I was confident with this, because i found pages of the subject in other wikipedia languages (it:AirHelp, nl:AirHelp, no:AirHelp, ja:AirHelp,...) with more secondary sources in these articles. I think this business of recovery of compensation indemnities for air passengers whose flight has been cancelled, is not well know yet, and it's actors should be in wikipedia like Refund.me for example. Is it possible to put it in publication and keep a flag inviting other contributors to add more secondary links ? Best Regards, Bebeto65 (talk) 09:06, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
- Bebeto65, Please read the link contained in the notice left on your talk page. You should also read through WP:FIRST. Notability does not come from other language Wikipedia pages, nor doe it come from wanting something to be more known. It works the opposite. Once something has become well-known, the press will write about it and there will be significant coverage about the topic. Take a look at the requirements for WP:NCORP and use those sources that talk in detail about the company, not just mention the company or contain general announcements or quotes. --CNMall41 (talk) 01:57, 21 December 2018 (UTC)

Conflict of interest warning
[edit]Dear CNMall41, thank you for your warning. I made a disclaimer on my user page that I have a conflict of interest in advance to avoid problems. Draft:Travelbeta
[edit]Hi, my submitted draft named Travelbeta was declined by you and the reason given was content was written like advertisement. I checked again and tried to remove everything that looked like advertisement to the best of my ability. You also stated that there is need for independent sources which is true. Every source cited in that draft is independent of the creator of the subject, they got an article on forbes which i think is credible and independent. The nation newspaper is one of the biggest news house in Nigeria. All I am trying to say is to the best of my knowledge, the sources cited are independent are verifiable. I am going to try to resubmit. Is there anything else you think the draft needs? Thank you so much. --Olakunle Rufai (talk) 22:01, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, Olakunle Rufai. I am not sure what was removed, but there is an entire section on corporate social responsibility which is longer than the rest of the draft. That is promotional in my opinion as it only serves the company. People coming to Wikipedia want to know what the company is and what it does, not how "good" it is because of its charitable givings. If it were a non-profit that was set up for such, it would be a different story. --CNMall41 (talk) 20:29, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply. I get you now. I created the corporate responsibility heading to talk about what the company are about and what they do. The last sentence however serves only the company like you said and I agree wwith you, I am going to remove that now. Please check the draft again. Thanks for your time --Olakunle Rufai (talk) 20:55, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
