Disruptive edits/abuse of noticeboard

Dear Beshogur,

I advise you to stop reverting properly sourced contributions to Turk-related articles and the abuse of the noticeboard with your frivolous 3RR claims. Your tone as an editor on the Gokturks article has been catty and pugnaciously combative, which is definitely not going to help your case when I inevitably file a report of my own about you. Fair warning.

Turkey is a secular state. but why should write the word "secular" in the religion column. as if to say Turkish people have no religion. like France, although secular, religious statistics are still included. we are talking numbers not systems Kebajikan111 (talk) 19:45, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Miniapolis. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Cossacks seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. This edit to the lead of the article (without an edit summary) introduced a factual error, according to reliable sources. Miniapolis 02:11, 11 March 2020 (UTC)

What? I changed it to "are" to "were", whats wrong? You are confusing me with someone else. Beshogur (talk) 10:40, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
The diff I linked to above indicates otherwise. According to the 2010 Russian census, the Cossacks are a recognized ethnic group; your edit to the lead (without an edit summary) changed the tone of the whole article. Please don't do that again. Miniapolis 14:08, 11 March 2020 (UTC)

Please dont continuesly put false info about the term neutralized on Turkey related operations by changing surrendered to wounded that make it falsely appear as if Turkey's anti terror OPs arent as successful. Stop converting Oghuz Turkic to -> Turkmen. Even this sentence is sorely wrong: "They were known as Turkmen or Turkoman tribal federation, the fact that virtually all contemporary historians support, and not as Oghuz Turkic, simply because it is assumed that that title had been non-existent by 14th century" How is that title non existent if the Byzantines were using it and basicly a state called Oghuz Yabgu State existed back then. Reconsider your edits. Beshogur (talk) 17:08, 7 April 2020 (UTC) - Oghuz Yabgu state did not exist in 14th century, what world do you live in, Europa Universailis 4? I understand that the term Turkoman may not entirely mean present-day Turkmens, and trust me, I wanted to link Kara Koyunlu's Turkoman to the Turkoman page, however and unfortunately, it is a disambiguation page, which means it will be a target for disambots. Therefore, I will keep "Turkoman" in the article, but perhaps replace the link with the Oghuz Turks one. Visioncurve (talk) 03:28, 8 April 2020 (UTC)

Stop your manipulative edits please. What has this to do with Oghuz Yabgu. So you are basicly denying yourself. Oghuz Yabgu state is older, and you claim that "Oghuz" term didn't existed back in 14th century. So it suddenly disappeared? Beshogur (talk) 12:20, 8 April 2020 (UTC)

I did want to apologize to you for draftifying the article back in November for being incomplete, specifically this section. The presence of empty sections, and several other small sections, led me to moving your article to draftspace. However, in hindsight after I've gain more experience draftifying articles, I see that the article could have stayed in mainspace with the empty section, so I resubmitted the article at AfC, even if the operation ended a few months ago. Regardless, the article got accepted, so there is some good news! Utopes (talk / cont) 21:18, 9 April 2020 (UTC)

Re-addition of Category:Azerbaijani people to Iğdır Province

Hi there. I'm wondering why you re-added Category:Azerbaijani people to Iğdır Province? If you look at the explanation of the category, it's for notable Azerbaijani people. While Azerbaijani people may live in Iğdır Province, that does not automatically make the category relevant for the article. If you've got any questions, I'm happy to answer. Hi Beshogur.

I know we had a couple of big and amusing discrepancies over the past few months, but at the moment I have a much bigger one with one particular user who, in my opinion, distorts history of Turkic peoples in an effort to praise his own people and country. The conflict arose after what I tried to swap relevant templates in Samanid Empire article and added the word “Turkic” in front of the Afsharid dynasty.

I’m therefore extending to you my hand of friendship with a strong belief that it’s better to team up and leave our differences behind to withstand similar conflicts together as it seems that we are both doing our best to protect same beliefs, common values and truth. --VisioncurveHaec lux solis, relinquentes senex mundi 11:32, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Ertuğrul

I hope I read your intent right. I was looking at the google-translated version, and didn't see anything about Gunduz and the coin, but he was disguised as "Daytime Alp". GT and Turkish are not the best of friends, though it helps. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 20:08, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

At second paragraph: "Nitekim ele geçen Osman Bey’e ait bir sikkede “Osman b. Ertuğrul b. Gündüz Alp” ibaresinin bulunması bu fikri daha da güçlendirmiştir." Gündüz means daytime :). It says there are minted coins belonging to Osman where is says "Osman Bin Ertugrul bin Gunduz Alp", another source which was added before states the same at page 35 I believe. Gråbergs Gråa Sång by the way, if you're interested, it is said that Suleiman ibn Qutulmish is the guy who was drowned, no one knows the truth. In his orginal tomb, this says 1086. For example look at this. Actually it is also weird that II Abulmejid thanked Ataturk for holding the soil where the tomb layed. Beshogur (talk) 20:17, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
This bit of history seems a bit of a mess (hardly unique). It would be interesting to see what Turkmen sources say, I like the statue, wonder when it was made? Wikipedians will do their best. Of course, in the minds of many the historical authority is now Diriliş: Ertuğrul. By the way, if you have anything good on when Osman I's mother turned up in sources, feel free to improve that article as well. I looked for her in the islamansiklopedisi, but HALİME HATUN ASHTRAY (thank you, GT) seems unrelated.
If you think this [1] was a bad idea, feel free to revert. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:44, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
And the Ertuğrul islamansiklopedisi doesn't say anything about him having a son called Gündüz/Gündüz Alp, is that correct? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:16, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
I have no idea about Osman's mother. About Gündüz, it's very confused. It's said Ertugrul's father was called Gunduz, he had a son called Gunduz, even Osman had a son called Gunduz. So anachronism. The source I've put is very reliable and says Osman had a son called Gunduz appointed him as subashi (commander in chief). Also there is a tomb belonging to Gunduz Alp in Beypazarı Ankara, but no one is sure wether it's Ertugrul's father, son or grandson. @Gråbergs Gråa Sång:, by the way I'm busy with searching for Osman's geneaology in Ottoman sources, found Asikpasazade's, Oruc Bey's and Enveri's versions, if I could find Yazicioglu's version, it'll be amazing as well. Beshogur (talk) 09:54, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
So how should we source/rewrite "Ottoman historians have differing opinions on whether Ertuğrul had two or possibly three other sons in addition to Osman: Gündüz Bey, and Saru Batu Savcı Bey or Saru Batu and Savcı Bey."? Saru Batu Savcı Bey seem covered by the islamansiklopedisi article, but the "other two"? And what should be done with the Gündüz Alp article? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 10:10, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
Pinging Teavannaa if they're interested. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 10:13, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
Osman may also/instead had a nephew called Gündüz, but I can't view that or the ref at Osman_I#Sons. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 10:28, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
Well that's my mistake, I've read it miss. Sorry. Beshogur (talk) 10:30, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi, an aoutomated bot has flagged the last 2 paragraphs of this article as being copied directly from a copyrighted source. Can you clarify where you got this text from, in case it is from a free source? Note that we can't accept text from any copyrighted sources, so please let me know, thanks! CrowCaw 14:14, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi. This is first, this is second, both state basicly the same thing. How it's copyrighted, what can I do about? I also found this, do I have to delete it? Beshogur (talk) 14:21, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
  • Thanks! Yes those sources were published in 1999 and UNESCO claims copyright with no right of re-use ([2]) so we can't use that text copied directly here. The best way is to write it completely in your own words, like you were describing it to a friend. Just changing words around won't work because that's still a paraphrasing problem. For now, that text has to be removed, for legal reasons. Thanks, CrowCaw 14:29, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

An article you recently created, Turkish military intervention in the Second Libyan Civil War, is significantly incomplete, and with several sections that do not yet have any text, it is not yet ready for Wikipedia's readership. You are invited to fill in these sections at your leisure, but make sure all information is verifiable.

I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 21:57, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Sock?

If you are serious about me being a sock then it's best that you start an investigation; I suggest you read these wikipedia guidelines Wikipedia:Conspiracy theory accusations: Conspiracy theory accusations against other editors are very serious violations of our "assume good faith" (AGF) guidelines and "no personal attacks" (NPA) policies. The critical feature in distinguishing conspiracy theory based accusations from simple accusations of sockpuppetry, meatpuppetry, and even cabals is that there must be a claim of a powerful external entity.

Continued accusations without evidence will lead to a block. You've done it once, so don't do a second time... And your recent edits and history of archives also suggests you have a continuing negative history of disruptive actions and participating in edit wars, it won't be good for you if you continue as the previous policy infractions will eventually catch up to you.

It would be better if you'd settle this in the talk page disccussion (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Turkmens) if you believe there's something wrong. Kezo2005 (talk) 13:34, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Turkey presidential system

There is no need to put all the referendums, but only that one since did something like changing the form of government after almost one century of republic. This particular referendum was also held in a state of emergency and has been largely criticized. I think it has to be put in the info box. Lone Internaut (talk) 12:23, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Vandalism editor

Hey, I see that you edit a lot of Turkey related pages as well and would like to get some support from you about an user who keeps vandalising all of my edits. His name is: Mr.User200 . He has literally removed all my content I added over the past 2 days and all of them are Turkey related. He removed most of it without any explanation nor sources. In fact, on the Operation Spring Shield page he removed more than half of the article with the excuse of ‘’grammar’’. I have now reported him for clear Vandalism as he did not even use the talk page to reach an consensus. He’s cleary not willing to listen. Could you help me out with this? I'd also like to ask you - what do you think if we replace the traditional link we use for (medieval) Turkomans from a banal and commonplace "Oghuz Turks" to this one, and will you give me a hand with this (I think there are zillions of them)? Thank you in advance. Cheers! --VisioncurveTimendi causa est nescire 03:52, 1 July 2020 (UTC)

Good job, really, thanks for your time! And what do you think about de-linking corny links from the Oghuz Turks to this one in such articles as Kara Koyunlu, Aq Qoyunly, Seljuks and etc? Besides, I'd also like to learn your important opinion regarding adding an ambigious information about Karluks and etc also being called Turkomans in the Middle Ages (or you think that will de-rail people from the primary theme?). Remember, Kashgari wrote in his Compendium: "Karluks are a division of nomadic Turks. They are separate from Oghuz, but they are Turkmens like Oghuz..." (talk page stalker) Beshogur that content is completely original and was not copied, it was simply cited. It's not the source that's the issue but the fact that you copied from a copyrighted source. — Yours, Berrely • TalkContribs 15:59, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
I had put time on it, this is really discouraging someone from editing. Also they were not exactly the same texts. Also in the same article, the same source remains, but only with a link. @Berrely:, why isn't that removed as well? Beshogur (talk) 16:09, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
Because the source itself can be used, it's just that content cannot be copied from it. An edit of yours was flagged as potential violation, and I saw that it was very closely phrased to the source (click on the "iThenticate report" option to see the text similarity). For some examples, the sentences "It emphasizes the role of its author and main hero in the foundation and in the history of the Second Empire", " to revolt against the Chinese and set to the throne a", "rebuild the empire and recultivate old pasture lands of the", and "For the author of the Orkhon Inscriptions he was merely äcim qayan (the qayan who was my unc1e) without any mention of his throne name." were copied from the source. Hey, how are you? I know you are fond of ancient Turkic inscriptions, but I would like you to check this out; the original language (either Karluk or simply Turki (Middle Turkic)) of this literary masterpiece is almost as old as the one found on the Turkic stone monuments. Note its close similarity in structure to the Turkic languages in use today, though almost one millenium passed since then. Compare for instance, the texts written in Old English (e.g. Beowulf) with the one in Modern English, you won't probably recognize a word... Cheers! "Oghuz tribes" template

Hey, how are you? I hope you are doing well. I have just finished adding the missing Oghuz tribes (Uchoks) to your exciting template. I wonder if breaking those tribes into smaller pieces (let's say, adding historical dynasties that descended from these tribes) would make sense, for example: break Kayi or add after it - Ottomans, İsfendiyaroğulları and Çobanoğulları. And I think it's about time to make that template come out of shadows and link it with corresponding articles. Waiting for your reply, Thanks and stay safe! I'm doing well, thanks, you? Thanks for your great work. I appreciate. Beshogur (talk) 15:35, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
Yup, but how about publishing that template in the specific articles (Bayat, Bayundur and etc...)? That would certainly improve these articles. --VisioncurveTimendi causa est nescire 05:46, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

Name of Kubrat and your intervention

I am writing in regards to your intervention and deletion of a reference to a source with information about the deciphering of the name of Kubrat. As I am relatively new here, I did not write straight away to you and I appoligize. Now I had time to go through the ways of communication and oth. I noticed you are very active to delete all other historical hypotezis different from the Turkic origin of Bulgars, not only for Kubrat , but to few more related articles. I would like to remind you − all prooved sources matter. Please spend some time to check page 99 to 101, regarding the deciphering of Kubrats name from the German archaeologist Joachim Werner [1] which you have been so unkind to delete withou to use my talk page and to report me instead. I have intention to post XOBRATOY again and translation of the words HUBAV BRAT wchich in Bulgarian means "nice, beautiful brother" ...for clarity of the readers, who does not speak Bulgarian. I Wont change the other text without consensus. Dahlia La Mar (talk) 18:48, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Dahlia La Mar, with regard to your "I noticed you are very active to delete all other historical hypotezis different from the Turkic origin of Bulgars, not only for Kubrat, but to few more related articles", remember, it is unacceptable for an editor to accuse others of misbehavior without reasonable cause in an attempt to besmirch their reputations. If accusations are made, they should be raised, with evidence. Know that third opinions is an excellent venue for small disputes involving two editors, see WP:ASPERSIONS. Cheers, VisioncurveTimendi causa est nescire 06:40, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
  • Hi, yes Visioncurve I will take note to be more precise. "I noticed you are very active to delete all other historical hypotezis different from the Turkic origin of Bulgars, not only for Kubrat , but to few more related articles"-to be accepted instead as- "I noticed you are interested of editing articles related to the Bulgars and Bulgarians"(As example - Beshogur - Undid revision 969166937 Volga Bulgaria 23 July 2020 and activity in editing article Kazan the capital of Volga Bulgaria ).There is nothing wrong with editing, but sources should be checked first before (Undo- Article Kubrat) and before someone to be reported for Shockpupetry. I hope we won′t have this issue in the future.

We haven′t discussed yet the line about " and considered Attila their first ruler".Beshogur can you provide a reference please, as in the Nominalia of the Bulgarian khans the name of the first Bulgar ruller is Avitohol Авитохолъ - check row 10th from the image. Armenia/Azerbaijan discretionary sanctions

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring, as you did at Murovdag. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  signed, Rosguill talk 22:22, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I apologize what I did, I understand it now. I will be more cautious next time. I request to be unblocked, but I will avoid to edit Azerbaijan related topics until my block expires. Thanks in advance. Beshogur (talk) 14:36, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Upon further review, I must concur with Rosguill that there is not enough here to unblock you early. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 09:12, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

In general, how will you handle an editing dispute in the future? 331dot (talk) 15:10, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

I think you mean to say that you will avoid Azerbaijani related topics once your block expires? 331dot (talk) 15:11, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

I mean I won't edit until my block expires. To avoid editing dispute, if something is not solved on talk page, I will take it to dispute noticeboard. Still, I am planning to take a page to dispute noticeboard once my block time expires (now unblocked or not) which is unrelated to the page which caused my blocked. Beshogur (talk) 15:20, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
The block prevents you from editing, so you don't need to say you will avoid editing. Rosguill, are you okay with unblocking with the users saying they will move to dispute resolution? 331dot (talk) 15:22, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
I mean I want to contribute to other topics which I was doing in before all these things. No, no. I mean the Stepanakert article, which I think I was called "vandal" unjustified. I will explain that later. Beshogur (talk) 15:24, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
331dot, I'm a bit confused by Beshogur's most recent reply and would like them to clarify that before making a decision. signed, Rosguill talk 16:10, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Rosguill, here Archives908 says in bold "de jure status is already covered in this article", which is not true. I do not see anything about de jure status of the city. I can not accept called vandal only for adding this back and this, and adding a source here, which an ip user added, and I suddenly checked Russian wikipedia which probably came from and added source. Since the city is in Azerbaijan, Archives908 adding deliberately Armenia map with NK together on the infobox. That's the main reason why I reported him yesterday, but probably it was the wrong place. With other topics, I mean contribution to other articles not related to this conflict (until my block expires). I hope it's explained. Beshogur (talk) 16:21, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
311dot, thinking about this more, I think I'm opposed to lifting the block early. The edits in question were a clear violation of 3RR, and the request here is basically just asking nicely and saying they won't do it again. Given that Beshogur is no stranger to our edit warring policy, and that these edits were made in the context of an active escalation of conflict in a topic already subject to discretionary sanctions, I think it would be best to just have Beshogur serve the remaining 30 or so hours on the block. signed, Rosguill talk 16:58, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Rosguill fine, but could you please look at that page, or give me an advice what to do? There is something not right. Beshogur (talk) 18:34, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Beshogur If you take a closer look, it clearly states that Stepanakert is within the international borders of Azerbaijan in the lede. Archives908 (talk) 22:23, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Archiver908 (talk · contribs), you are clearly not honest about that it was added later I reported you. And please do not use bold in my talk page. Beshogur (talk) 09:06, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
I know it was added later, and it was not reverted or removed because it was an improvement to the article, it did not use controversial sources, and was not done out of POV. That is how proper editing is conducted- know the difference! Archives908 (talk) 12:56, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
Also, your threats of blocking me are not constructive or appropriate, especially since you are the one currently blocked. The Admins have ruled in my favour as I did not commit any violations. If you continue these threats and not editing constructively, I'm positive the Admins will take notice to your inappropriateness once again. Archives908 (talk) 13:04, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

@Archives908: Admins do not rule in favor of X or Y, they prevent Wikipedia from disruption/vandalism etc ... Please keep in mind that there is no such thing as a "victorious side" and a "defeated side" in a dispute. Thanks.---Wikaviani (talk) (contribs) 22:02, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

  • Beshogur, sorry for the delayed response; as for your question above of advice what to do it's not clear to me whether you want advice as far as the content dispute or you want advice on dealing with editors calling you a vandal. If it's the content, raise it on the talk page, and then use an RfC or DRN if you can't come to a consensus (with recourse to WP:AN3 if someone is edit warring while you're trying to discuss). If it's the name-calling, you can raise it at WP:ANI if it's a consistent pattern of behavior from another editor, which at this point it very well may be. signed, Rosguill talk 22:22, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

The one with official members + observer should be used, with a correct key, right? Johncdraper (talk) 12:32, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

I see. Khojavend/Martuni on 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Hi, regarding a debate for adhering to WP:COMMONNAME regarding place names, did you mean this one [7]? I don't see Martuni/Khojavend mentioned, but a quick Google search shows far more views for Martuni [8] than Khojavend [9], I would therefore argue that the inclusion of the Armenian name as well is appropriate to increase the readability of the article per WP:COMMONNAME. AntonSamuel (talk) 18:14, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Because half of these Martuni results are airbnb, travel websites, etc. Beshogur (talk) 18:20, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
The same is true for Google Scholar [10] [11] WP:COMMONNAME specifices that a common name is "determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable English-language sources", so I think Martuni would be prudent to include. AntonSamuel (talk) 18:25, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Even if I undid my edit, the RfC would still be open – and any editors arriving to it via the feedback request service wouldn't be able to see existing comments, which is not ideal. I'm afraid I don't know what the right steps would be if you think it's an improper RfC, or incompatible with the dispute resolution noticeboard. The editor who was responsible for the RfC was VZkN9. I have to say I have my suspicions over that particular account as it seems to be single-purpose, and after taking another look I can see the RfC was opened almost straight away after you filed your case on the dispute resolution noticeboard (perhaps it warrants a sockpuppet check)? If you're certain the RfC should not have been started, I think you can remove the RfC template (and you wouldn't need my permission), but I'm not familiar with this process so can't say for certain. As it happens, I share Rosguill's view that an RfC is more appropriate, so my gut feeling would be to leave the RfC so we can solicit the views of more uninvolved editors, even if it was procedurally incorrect, rather than close it only to reopen it again shortly. I was going to ping Rosguill as they may have a better understanding of the correct process to follow, but as you reverted your original message I'll leave it up to you. Cheers, Jr8825Talk 21:04, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Emirdağ, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Byzantines.

(Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 06:37, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

It was a developed page when I turned it into a redirect. In any case, base titles should never redirect to dab pages. The dab page should be moved if that's what you want. But I'm not sure it doesn't have as a primary meaning the classical literary language that is covered at Chagatai language. Perhaps that page should be moved to a better title. Srnec (talk) 17:35, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

I know that page was covering Chagatai, but I wanted to do an disambiguation page, so what to do now? Beshogur (talk) 18:45, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
You can leave it as is, or you can request a move of Turki (disambiguation) to the base name. Srnec (talk) 01:41, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

Hi

Hey, you and I will probably see this differently but I believe that I have a pretty clear idea of what neutral is and that is my objective on the Nagorno Karabakh war articles. This involves getting rid of unsourced claims and also using neutral terminology throughout articles (captured instead of liberated, stated or claimed instead of announced), as well as expanding upon sections where one point of view is heavy so that there is a balanced representation of viewpoints.

Especially in the context of an active information war which to some extent is affecting Wikipedia I consider this important. This is a very high profile topic on Wikipedia and I want to work with you and everyone else who is interested in these pages not against you.

With that in mind I think your idea of neutral might be different from mine. If so I just accept this as a difference in opinions re how to write the pages.

If you want to discuss any of my edits you are welcome to speak to me either on the talk page of the article or my own. --LOLCaatz (talk) 13:37, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

Merhaba. Memnun olurum elbette. İstediğiniz gibi edit yapabilirsiniz. Hala başlık hakkında şüphelerim var, başka isim önerileriniz var mı? Fakat şu anlık burayı editleyebilirsiniz. Beshogur (talk) 13:40, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
List of massacres of Turks dışında başka bir alternatif olduğunu düşünmüyorum ancak o biraz Türki halkları katar işin içine.
Böyle yapıldığını List of massacres against Hazara people maddesinde görmüştüm ve mantıklı olabilir çünkü listedeki katliamlar Türklerin yaşadığı genel mezalimin çok azını yansıtıyor. Ondan sonra 93 Harbi gibi bazı savaşlardaki genel katledilen Türk sayısı Massacres of Turkish people during the Russo-Turkish War (1877–1878) diye eklenebilir. Ne düşünüyorsun? -Śαǿturα💬 21:43, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
@Saotura: Valla bilemiyorum. Massacres during the Russo-Turkish war, vs. mantıklı. Solingen arson attack of 1993 da eklenebilir bence. Beshogur (talk) 21:48, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
Tam şuan editliyorum maddeyi. Solingen Faciası ve Massacres during the Russo-Turkish war diye ekliyorum.

List of massacres against Turkish people olur mu yoksa şimdiki iyi mi? Description için de following list includes massacres, arson attacks, etc. gibi açıklama eklesek iyi olur. Beshogur (talk) 11:44, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

Dediğim gibi bence title uygun. Vikipedi'de etnik gruba göre katliamları listeleyen çok madde yok, List of massacres against Hazara people hariç olanların hepsi de 'List of massacres of' şeklinde. See also'ya Turks in Germany#Attacks against the Turkish community in Germany diye ekleriz.-Śαǿturα💬 12:41, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

On Beishi and Nushibi of the Western Turks

Greetings, Beshogur. On the Western Turkic Khaganate article I wrote a note that "Beishi (卑失) in Jiu Tangshu 110 Qibi Heli is possibly clerical error for Nushibi (弩失畢)" because a similar list of clans/tribes (xing) in Jiu Tangshu 215b Helu has Nushibi (弩失畢). However, I found a paper by Hayrettin İhsan Erkoç (free for download here) where Erkoç identified the Beishi with the Barsil. However, I used Google translate to have an idea what Erkoç talked about & I'm not a native Turkish speaker so I won't dare integrate Erkoç's research into the Western Turkic Khaganate article. Whenever you're available, would you please have a look? Thanks in advance & Regards! Erminwin (talk) 19:22, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

@Erminwin: I can help but exactly which page are you talking about? Beshogur (talk) 19:35, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
@Beshogur:: The page is Western Turkic Khaganate, the note is note 29 Western Turkic Khaganate#cite ref 29 in section Western Turkic Khaganate#The Onoq or ten tribes. If you think note 29 to be wrong, just feel free to delete it or modify it however you please using Erkoç's research. Erminwin (talk) 20:38, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
@Erminwin: I can't read Chinese, and still don't understand what the issue is, can you elaborate? Beshogur (talk) 20:58, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
@Beshogur:: Alright. In Jiu Tangshu, volume 110, section Qibi Heli, it is said that Ashina Helu rebelled and led these five tribes: 處月 - Chuyue、處蜜 - Chumi、姑蘇 - Gusu、歌邏祿 Geluolu、卑失, Beishi; however, in Jiu Tangshu, volum 215, section Helu, it is said that Ashina Helu governed the multitude, which comprised the 處月 - Chuyue、處蜜 - Chumi、姑蘇 - Gusu、歌邏祿 - Geluolu、and 弩失畢五姓 - Nushibi. I proposed that 卑失 Beishi was a clerical error for Nushibi 弩失畢. When I used Google translate to read Erkoç's Turkish-language article, Erkoç apparently took the opposite position, that 卑失 Beishi was correct & Nushibi 弩失畢 resulted from scribal error. Hope this'd help. Erkoç discussed the Beishi on pages 107-109 of his article Erminwin (talk) 21:35, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
@Erminwin: If I am reading right on p 109, he says that Beishi on the Qibi Heli biography (XTS) might be misspelling of Nushibi. I hope it's the correct thing. Beshogur (talk) 23:09, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

Translation help?

Hi Beshogur! I recently translated Osman Kibar from Turkish (using mostly Google translate, not any language skill) and I'm looking to potentially nominate it for DYK. Since you speak Turkish, I was wondering if you might be able to help translate a passage from a source to confirm it's saying what I think it is. From here:

Çocuklarınla vakit geçirmek, kitap okumak, GO oyunu oynamak, sinemaya gitmek…

Any assistance you're inclined to give would be much appreciated! Cheers, {{u|Sdkb}}talk 06:01, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

About Ataturk's assassination attempt in the ITC article.

Hello Beshogur, with the fall of the unionist government at the end of WWI, ITC splintered into many factions. Most of them eventually pledged allegiance into Mustafa Kemal Pasha's Mudaafa Hukuk Cemiyeti (later Cumhuriyet Halk Fırkısı) however some were against his leadership. This rogue unionist faction tried to attempted to assassinate Ataturk in 1926, but the plot was uncovered and a purge was conducted which left the committee dead for good. The Barnstar of Diplomacy
Hi Beshogur,

Thank you for your latest contribution to the Genghis Khan article. Although, I am curious as to how were you able to find any valid source on Genghis Khan's title being posthumously known as Genghis Huangdi? I scoured through resources to no avail.

Thank you again! Respectfully, TheKhatunSur (talk) 12:54, 24 December 2020 (UTC)

@TheKhatunSur: thanks, not sure if I earned this barnstar haha. I searched the history and found this edit. Considering it's given after his death, it is posthumously. Also checked Chinese wiki, seems like that's from there. @Beshogur: I am quite new to Wiki and I was compelled to thank you with a gesture... I was debating on gifting a virtual goat.

I would like to emphasize that I was not and still not able to find any official sources validating this posthumous "official" title. The original note read "Before Kublai Khan announced the dynastic name "Great Yuan" in 1271, Khagans (Great Khans) of the Mongol State (Ikh Mongol Uls) already started to use the Chinese title of Emperor (Chinese: 皇帝; pinyin: Huángdì) practically in the Chinese language since Genghis Khan (as 成吉思皇帝; 'Genghis Huangdi')." The source isn't verified.

1. Genghis Khan died in 1227, 44 years before 1271, when the Yuan Dynasty was officially established under Kublai Khan. There are no sources to verify the Huangdi title was used to refer to Genghis Khan.

2. The title of an imperial rank in Mongolic/Turkic language stands as Khan " Mongolian Script: ᠬᠠᠭᠠᠨ ; Chinese: 可汗; pinyin: Kèhán or Chinese: 大汗; pinyin: Dàhán; Persian: خاقان‎ Khāqān, alternatively spelled Kağan, Kagan, Khaghan, Kaghan, Khakan, Khakhan, Xagahn, Qaghan, Chagan, Қан, or Kha'an" as more phonetically familiar. < Vovin, Alexander. 2010. @TheKhatunSur: I didn't include it either. Perhaps see the relevant discussion at the article's talk page. I just added that it's posthumously if this true.Beshogur (talk) 14:28, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
