User:Awesome Aasim/addmylinks feature request
[edit]Could you add a 'null edit' button? (For {{PAGESINCATEGORY}}
etc.)―Qwerfjkltalk 21:02, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hmm... interesting thought... after all if you decided to add wiki code to your mylinks bar, you would want to update it from time to time... I'll give it some thinking... Thanks for the feedback!~ Aasim (talk) 21:53, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

Concern regarding User:Awesome Aasim/Windows Hello
[edit]Hello, Awesome Aasim. This is a bot-delivered message letting you know that User:Awesome Aasim/Windows Hello, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Draft space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for article space.
If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion under CSD G13. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it. You may request userfication of the content if it meets requirements.
If the deletion has already occurred, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available here.
Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. FireflyBot (talk) 07:03, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- Firefly: um.... I think your bot broke... I don't think draft bots are supposed to look in userspace. Aasim (talk) 08:15, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hello! The bot looks for all drafts that will soon be eligible for CSD G13, which includes drafts in userspace that have the AfC template on them (and only those with the template). If you want, I can put you on the opt-out list for notifications so you don't get any more. Thanks! firefly ( t · c ) 08:21, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- Firefly No worries! I just was checking in as I did not expect drafts in userspace to be eligible for deletion. So your bot is not exactly broken. I removed the draft tag from that user page so I (and others) can continue working on it before submitting it to AfC again. Aasim (talk) 12:17, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
- Yep, that'll work - without the tag it won't be affected by G13. firefly ( t · c ) 12:31, 15 September 2021 (UTC)

Help on user script localization
[edit]Hello! I'm an admin at SqWiki and wanted to modify your user script as a gadget for our community. We have around 4 pages we'd like to be able to use your script on to vote but it was hard for me to localize it given that you have hard-coded the EnWiki pages on it. Can you guide me on the procedure if I show you the 4 pages we need it to be used on? - Klein Muçi (talk) 17:39, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, while I appreciate that you want to localize one of my user scripts, most of my user scripts I have not touched in the past several months, and I am quite busy with real-life matters. I can tell you that the XFDvote script is just copy-paste a bunch of individual modules hosted on subpages that can be turned on and off, but I really only designed it for English Wikipedia. Unfortunately, I would have to say that you are kind of on your own with this. While some scripts I designed with cross-wiki compatibility in mind, this is one of a few scripts I only designed for English Wikipedia. Sorry about that :( Aasim (talk) 17:47, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- Don't worry. If you know of any other user scripts that allow for a graphical user interface voting or if you ever find time in the future to devote to such a project, let me know. Thanks for the quick answer! :) - Klein Muçi (talk) 17:53, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

Hello
[edit]Hello, I want to use your CatMan on kowiki, but it dosen't work properly because I can't find how to change CatMan.catprefixes
into my language(Korean). Can you help me how to change this in my language?
Note: I am not an admin on kowiki. --Wikiwater2020 (talk) 03:34, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
+) There is a bug with CatMan on kowiki. I typed only 1 category in the box and clicked the check button, but CatMan adds two categories which are same. (ex. I typed 'hello' in the box and clicked the check button, CatMan adds [[Category:hello]] and [[분류:hello]]. '분류' means Category in English.) --Wikiwater2020 (talk) 04:44, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Wikiwater2020 Weird... I'll take a look when I get time. Aasim (talk) 05:14, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Wikiwater2020 I figured out what is up. The catprefixes fills up with data from the namespaceIDs that are set to 14. This data then gets passed in through function calls. I apologize for not making the best code, I tend to leave out comments a lot. I know it is bad programming practice, but usually when I am making these scripts I figure out everything in my head, not through comments. Aasim (talk) 05:22, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Wikiwater2020 Ok, so I believe what I am doing may be intentional. There is very little harm with having English wikitext right after the localization. I just wanted to make sure that the localization makes its way in. Basically, when a category is added, it will add the category name in all possible category prefixes. When it is removed, it will search for category prefixes and remove them on their own. Since it seems to be a minor thing, I do not think there is that much a need to fix it. Unneeded localizations could simply be removed after~ Aasim (talk) 05:35, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- So I should use it without localization? CatMan doesn't seem to recognize the local category prefix(분류:), so I can't remove or change categories in article if they don't have prefixes like 'Category:'. --Wikiwater2020 (talk) 10:20, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Can you show an example? If you have Discord and you are part of the Wikimedia Community you could send screenshots to my DMs. Aasim (talk) 17:37, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

- I have a discord account, but I am not participated in enwiki discord server(I'm participated in kowiki discord server). So if I want to send DM to you, I need to join enwiki discord server? Wikiwater2020 (talk) 06:53, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
You can simply use mw.config.get("wgFormattedNamespaces")["14"] + ":"
for the i18n support. --ted (talk) 04:00, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
- Ykhwong - thanks for the code. Wikiwater2020 the issue with CatMan should be fixed. Thanks for pointing that out! I hope to commit the changes to GitHub soon™️ Aasim (talk) 03:18, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
