Information about XXXTentacion's career

[edit]

Why did you remove the information I just added {{ping| Seraphimblade}} ? USER45784578 (talk) 23:06, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Much of it was unreferenced, and the rest was sourced to WP:GENIUS, which is not a reliable source. There would also be issues of excess detail, but unless a better source confirms the material, that wouldn't even matter. Is there any good source available for the material in question? Seraphimblade Talk to me 23:11, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes with a bit of research I can maybe find other sources proving this, but it's gonna take a lot of time because a lot of those information were published a long time ago on Discord by leakers or by old X affiliates, since some of those songs were deleted years ago and for the newer songs, by John Cunningham (producer) on Reddit. But as for the references coming from Genius, the ones I put are reliable because the leakers who are responsible for finding old deleted and lost music from X are directly involved in the creation of these pages. And I haven't added any songs for which the community has doubts about the producer identity. But I can remove some informations if they are too specific if you want. USER45784578 (talk) 23:29, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You'll need actual reliable sources to include any of it. Anonymous "leakers" or the like aren't reliable either, unless an actual reliable source checked them out and confirmed they're correct. Stuff on Reddit, Discord, etc., would not work. Seraphimblade Talk to me 23:43, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I added articles, songs snippet from X himself and tweets from X. So there is no doubt anymore USER45784578 (talk) 23:57, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Those aren't acceptable, either. Please go read about what constitutes a reliable source. Tweets are not it. Seraphimblade Talk to me 23:58, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Most of the stuff written on X early career don't have more reliable sources than what I put. So you would need to delete the entire section before 2017. I put tweets from X himself, I gave you interviews where John Cunningham explain X made a song entirely by himself and found the track on his computer not long before the album, I gave you the official article about the Toxic instrumental contest. I gave you tweets where XXX and Yan are teasing the music they made together and I gave you direct songs link + snippets from X where you see him working on a beat and on a song. What do I need to give you more ? USER45784578 (talk) 00:04, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And the souncloud link I gave you is Heartbreak Hotel EP direct original link. You literally can't have a more reliable source than this USER45784578 (talk) 00:07, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
John Cunningham was XXXTentacion's executive producer and main producer of ?, skins and bad vibes forever so he is a 100% reliable source. USER45784578 (talk) 00:22, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And I add snippets where X shows his computer with some sessions open while he is working on music. USER45784578 (talk) 00:37, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So I really made sure everything was a 100% confirmed. USER45784578 (talk) 00:43, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And I add different sources to every information to prove everything so they are no doubt USER45784578 (talk) 00:44, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
These are not reliable sources. If, as you state, you can't have more reliable sources in this, then the material will not be able to go into the article. Seraphimblade Talk to me 01:47, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why did you remove everything instead of just the part you don't like ? For the "toxic beat" contest I gave you the official page of the contest, I gave you an interview with X producer talking about the song "Ugly", I gave you direct link to song and I gave you tweets from XXXTentacion himself sharing the link and informations about each old song.... What is more reliable than the artist himself or the producer himself, or the creator of the contest themselves ?
My modifications made the "career" part of the page way more complete and relevant since this part is actually extremely incomplete on the page. USER45784578 (talk) 08:18, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"Reliable sources may be published materials with a reliable publication process, authors who are regarded as authoritative in relation to the subject, or both. These qualifications should be demonstrable to other people."
XXXTentacion talking about a piece of work himself, John Cunningham talking aout a piece of work himself and an official article about a contest are reliable sources. I really don't understand what you want more... USER45784578 (talk) 08:26, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Can you explain to me what part you didn't like ? It took me a lot of time to edit this and I gave you sources from the authors directly... USER45784578 (talk) 08:49, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have referred you repeatedly to material on reliable sources. Please go read that before you respond again, because you clearly have not. People talking about themselves or their affiliates actually aren't all that reliable; they have quite an incentive to exaggerate and "talk up" various things. What we'd be looking for are sources unaffiliated with the subject talking about what they did. If no reliable and independent sources found the event significant enough to write about—it's almost certainly not of enough significance to mention in the article, either. Why is "A Helping Hand" listed as a concert tour?

[edit]

The cited source for it does not mention the word "tour" anywhere in the article and The Revenge Tour's article also states that it was XXXTentacion's first and only concert tour. Lifetimelucid (talk) 13:48, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Remove euphemisms per MOS:EUPHEMISM, on information about XXX's child in the "Relationship" section, change "before he passed" to "before he died" or "before his death", and on his infobox, change "resting_place" to "burial_place", I only detected these two when I wrote this, so remove other euphemisms from encyclopedic wordings if there are any more. 2603:6081:893D:13AC:F5F6:87CB:D97C:BD0B (talk) 08:10, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The section where it said the attackers drove away in “a SUV” should read “an SUV”. Grammatical error 90.247.132.26 (talk) 09:28, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
