Wikipedia
Wikipedia is not a web host for holding personal web pages unrelated to work on building the encyclopedia. You are, of course, very welcome to start making contributions to the encyclopaedia, in line with Wikipedia policies and guidelines if you are interested in doing so, but if your only interest is in writing a personal web page, then there are many web sites which provide that sort of service, but Wikipedia is not one of them. Wikipedia and copyright
Hello The Tips of Apmh! Your additions to Draft:James Woodward have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 20:43, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. The Tips of Apmh (talk) 22:04, 18 September 2021 (UTC)

- @AwesomeApps: Thank you very much for the kitten. The Tips of Apmh (talk) 04:45, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
The article ECO HOLE has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No indication of notability or significance and searches do not currently return reliable secondary sources that could be used to expand article.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DocFreeman24 (talk) 07:22, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Gab4gab. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Barak Valley Engineering College, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. It is mentioned, with a source, in the lead that the college was established in 2017. Nothing about 2009 is sourced from what I've seen. Gab4gab (talk) 19:29, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Gab4gab: hello, in the About Us section in the official website it says "The noble initiative for setting up this engineering college was taken in the year of 2009 by the Government of Assam" --The Tips of Apmh (talk) 19:57, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for that information. Go ahead and add it again with a citation if you want. Although it might be better to wait until you develop more than two sentences of content before adding another section. Gab4gab (talk) 13:05, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

help with MFD
Hello, I just submitted an Articles for Deletion request against Draft:Queenly due to promotional content, but I now realise it should have been Miscellaneous for Deletion. I think I've undone the original request, but the template is still on the page. Would you mind helping me out in sorting it? I don't commonly use XFD, I'm usually doing antivandalism on Huggle.
Many thanks!

- @DirkJandeGeer: I'm not really knowlegable in deletion or speedy deletion, so you should go to Wikipedia:Help desk to ask real questions. But I think you can just put {{Db-g11}} on the page if you think it's promotion, doesn't matter if it's a draft --The Tips of Apmh 21:54, 6 December 2021 (UTC)

Rollback
Hi The Tips of Apmh. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when using rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY 23:08, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
Recent revert
Your recent revert to my edits at Draft:Mishbahul Islam Mazumder made sense, but I don't know what else I would do. There is no CSD template that would delete a page like this, and I can't just move the page to their user space because their username is all caps. The article very clearly shouldn't be in the draft namespace, but what can we do to remove it, if not CSD A7? Thanks ― Levi_OPTalk 18:44, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Levi OP: I don't think a draft can be removed for that reason. Unless there is a Wikipedia guideline that says autobiography drafts should be deleted. Or maybe WP:G10 applies, however the article is not negative in tone. Why do you think the draft should be deleted? --The Tips of Apmh 18:55, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- Making autobiographies is just plain and simple not allowed. Just because you do it in the draft namespace doesn't make it any more allowed. See Wikipedia:Autobiography and Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest ― Levi_OPTalk 18:58, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- Also forgot to mention, regardless of if it was an autobiography, the subject is not at all notable and fails WP:BIO. ― Levi_OPTalk 19:00, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Levi OP: While WP:AB does say that writing an article about yourself is strongly discouraged, it does not outright say that it is not allowed. But the draft does fail MOS:I, since it is using first person pronouns. --The Tips of Apmh 19:08, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- So... what do you think we do. I've used csd a7 on pages like this multiple times in the past with nothing being said. If not CSD A7, then what? ― Levi_OPTalk 19:11, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Levi OP: I don't really know. If A7 can be used on draft articles then I don't know why it's an article CSD and not a general CSD. I suggest seeing the help desk. --The Tips of Apmh 19:15, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

Username pun
Hey! I noticed that you have a userbox on your userpage stating that you recognize the pun in your name. What is said pun in your username as I don't see what it is. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:17, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Blaze Wolf: I'm glad somebody finally asked about my username: It's not really a "pun" but it is an obscure reference to User:Theroadislong, that you can get by skewing their name to the right. --The Tips of Apmh 15:45, 8 February 2022 (UTC)

Question
I’m new to Wikipedia , I see you helped edit my page. Can you explain why it was speedily deleted & how I can publish my page ? I’m just trying to update information on myself , and I can’t figure out how to properly do this ? Malibu310 (talk) 23:44, 26 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Malibu310: do you mean Draft:Max Madsen? --The Tips of Apmh 17:19, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
Yes Malibu310 (talk) 18:07, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
Can you help me update it so I can publish it, I don’t know how to correctly do it Malibu310 (talk) 18:07, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Malibu310: It seems like it doesn't have the publish button so you probably removed it on accident. The template will need to be re added. --The Tips of Apmh 18:29, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
???
did you really just threaten to remove me from editing for capitalizing a word? you’ve got to be joking right? it looks terrible and amateurish not capitalized, the title is also capitalized so why wouldn’t it be? stop being ridiculous please. i understand if your life isn’t going super well url, but don’t be taking it out on me. because that’s so incredibly immature and petty to threaten to remove someone for capitalizing a word, get ur stuff together please. thanks ;) Hunterreeeer (talk) 19:25, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Hunterreeeer: Firstly, the "war" in "war in Donbas" is not capitalized. That's an objective fact. Secondly, I did not "threaten" you, I only warned you that continuing your disruptive edits may get you blocked. Further detail at Wikipedia talk:Administrators' noticeboard#The Tips of Amph. --The Tips of Apmh 22:32, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
you threw a “final warning” saying if i continued to make such edits i’d be removed, what do you call it? you throw a warning for me changing a single letter and call it vandalism/disruptive like come on dude, does changing a single letter make you that upset that you call it disruptive editing / vandalism. and generally, it should be capitalized as you’re talking about a War. you don’t call it the Boer war, you call it the Boer War, it’s not the Korean war, it’s typed as the Korean War. I was fixing an edit that all other pages have as capitalized, but it’s whatever i respect your opinion and that mine not be correct, just don’t go mindlessly throwing warnings around, thanks :) Hunterreeeer (talk) 22:51, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Hunterreeeer: It appears that you have gotten five warnings from four different users, not including me. That's why I gave you a "final warning". Also, I do not know why you are still arguing about "war" being capitalized. Please see this and this which show the general preference to not capitalize "war". --The Tips of Apmh 23:02, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
i’m just saying others pages have this, and wonder why you’re making an exception ;) and as i said, i understand my opinion may be wrong, but you don’t need to warn for something so small, stop defending yourself on that. and also how do i have four warnings, do people seriously throw warnings for such little things, because i was not aware of that, as the only ones i saw that had warnings were yours and another dudes, only others i can think of were that i didn’t reference, but i went and changed them and fixed them if i had noticed, hardly reason for a warning ? and also you used the word “preference not to capitalize”, so just bring your opinion, which others vary, hardly a reason for a warning, i’m sure you wouldn’t be happy if you just got thrown a warning for someone’s “preference” on a singular letter Hunterreeeer (talk) 23:08, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Hunterreeeer: What bothered me with your edit was how you changed only the first mention of "war in Donbas" and not the other ~10 times it was mentioned uncapitalized. That's why I assumed it was just vandalism.
- Also, not capitalizing "war" is not my preference, it's the preference in scholarly articles as a whole. --The Tips of Apmh 23:14, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
only saw the one as it was the first few words that anyone reads on the pages and thought it should generally be capitalized (and it’s bolded aswell) but apologies if it upset you. as i said, i respect your opinion on it. but please just don’t go assuming things in bad faith, as that’s not the correct approach. this could have been settled a lot better if you had just asked why i didn’t change the others, which i would have absolutely gone and changed them once you voiced your concern! that would’ve been no problem whatsoever! i just wasn’t aware changing one letter in a bolded title would require going and changing every single other word affiliated with it. - @Hunterreeeer: I agree, I was kind of in a rush when I pressed the warn button. Also, keep in mind that it's not a "if you get warned 5 times you get insta-blocked" kind of thing. In a vacuum, warnings do not mean anything at all. It takes an entire administrator to review your edits and conclude whether you should get blocked or not. i understand and totally get it. i just don’t really enjoy waking up and seeing that i was being warned and reading that if i continue making such edits i get removed, as that’s how it was worded, for changing a single letter nonetheless, without any type of discussion, sorry if i took this out of proportion but you have to understand that it’s extremely frustrating. - @Hunterreeeer: Understandable, I have been warned once before and have had many of my edits reverted. But I also would have preferred if you were more civil and didn't say things like "get ur stuff together please". The Tips of Apmh 00:22, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
