Best not to request revdeletion of possible private information on ANI

Hi, as the header says, it's best not to request revdeletion of possible private information on ANI as you risky drawing attention to it. You can privately contact an admin but for a possible phone number or something else which may be real information of a private individual, it's probably best to simply contact Wikipedia:Requests for oversight. I think oversight is generally quite fast nowadays but you can request revdeletion in the interim just to reduce any risk, but you should do so privately. If you're contacting oversight and are not able to privately request rev-deletion, it's probably better to do just leave it be. Nil Einne (talk) 23:16, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

Oh I forgot to mention I contacted oversight privately about the edit you posted and deleted your comment. Nil Einne (talk) 23:18, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
@Nil Einne: Thanks. I assumed that it wasn't a valid number. Thanks for the cleanup. I'll contact oversight next time. I see it's been revdelled (Is that the past-tense? ;O). Thanks for the advice! Cheers Adakiko (talk) 23:36, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

Hi,

I noticed that you reverted my edits on Ehelepola Wijesundara. I edited his name to reflect what was inscribed on the 5th casket of the Temple of Tooth. Its safe to assume that he knew his name better than anyone else and had his full name correctly inscribed on the the 5th golden casket of the Temple of Tooth. If you are unsure, please message Dalada Maligawa page to confirm. 219.88.174.245 (talk) 11:14, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Please start a discussion on talk:Ehelepola Nilame per wp:BRD. See help:talk pages and wp:ping any editors who might be interested. Simply adding "fixed typo" or "Fixed a critical error" as an wp:edit summary can be frustrating for other editors. Adakiko (talk) 11:25, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Reprimanded

I've reprimanded (rather lengthily) the user for their conduct towards you. Several points there really crossed the line, including a bit of "policy" that they invented. I would have preferred to just stand back and monitor, chipping in neutrally with guidance or advice when it seemed necessary, as I usually do with content disputes, but their conduct wasn't something that could just be dealt with by saying a quick "that's not good enough". I'd have done the same if they'd been going after anyone like that, it was totally unacceptable conduct, and not the sort of behaviour expected on a talk page. Well done for keeping your cool. Rollbacks and filters

Hey. I tried to revert this edit but when I tried to do so there was a warning about the sources I included. I continued to save through but once I finished that one I had been conflicted by you. I was curious if you also got a warning? Or if it doesn't apply to rollbacks? Naleksuh (talk) 05:17, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

@Naleksuh: I don't think rollbacks are limited. I've never gotten a warning, though I primarily use wp:Huggle for rollbacks. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 05:21, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

Dear, please don't revert these edits. I have just add them to elaborate the top. Otherwise, you can verify all of the tops deatils from my edits within the article body. In case of Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, the deatils I have added are already preset in the Reception with reliable sources. 39.34.189.137 (talk) 10:53, 28 April 2022 (UTC)

Re: Biggles edit

"Allegations of racism" implies assessing whether W.E. Johns was racist. The section describes racist content, and I thought it would be more appropriate to call it "Racism" or "Racism in the Biggles series". "Allegations" puts us on an emotional footing rather than an informational one, and implies that the slurs listed in this section are only allegedly racist.

I apologize for not providing a reason for my change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.237.44.40 (talk) 14:27, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

Mehazabien Chowdhury

Hello, please note that WP:DAILYSTAR refers to Daily Star (UK), not The Daily Star (Bangladesh). Please see also the Daily Star disambiguation page. Thanks, Storchy (talk) 09:57, 30 April 2022 (UTC)

@Storchy: Thanks. I made that assumption as the content appeared quite tabloid-journalism. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 10:01, 30 April 2022 (UTC)
I agree, the tone of that reference is quite like tabloid journalism, and that article has several citations from the Daily Star Bangladesh. I don't see anything helpful about the DS Bangladesh in a search of WP:RSN, but even so, it's fair to say that the quality of sources in that article could do with improvement. Storchy (talk) 10:12, 30 April 2022 (UTC)

Hello, Yes I did, I am a close friend and unfortunately due to covid and other things, the birth of the Princess’s latest child was not published, but I can confirm that she had a boy called Hussein on the 12th of March, Also I corrected the spelling of her husband and childrens names, as her 2nd daughter is called Nasmah, not Nesma. Furthermore her husbands family name is Al Halawani, not just Halawani as the difference in origin between Jerusalem and Syria comes into discussion, And lastly her presidency and position as board member are available on the JOC website, If you have any other questions kindly let me know, Many thanks 84.18.35.47 (talk) 14:12, 1 May 2022 (UTC)

2022–23 ACC women's basketball standings

Curious as to the reverts to 2601:3C2:8281:5C90:38A9:E072:BB63:765A as being disruptive. I can see the only edit they are making is adding women's to the category 2022–23 American college basketball standings templates, which is what all previous years ACC templates used, as it is a women's basketball template. Leaving the category as is adds this template in with men's basketball, which no prior years have. Brian (talk) 00:07, 4 May 2022 (UTC)

@Bgredmchn: 2601:3C2:8281:5C90:38A9:E072:BB63:765A (talk · contribs) blanked templates eight times without giving any explanation. On Template:2022–23 ACC women's basketball standings the anon changed "women's" to "men's". I don't remember why I undid the others. Likely because of the IP's previous edits. It appears I should have left the anon's last three edits as-is? Cheers Adakiko (talk) 00:47, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
Yeah the last few were actually good intended. I'm pretty sure the creator of that template and the anon are one in the same. As soon as a few pages by the original creator was made, within minutes, an anon is making edits. The blanking I think has something to do with making an error, or a copy template, and them not knowing the proper delete method. Those templates that were blanked, I had already sent for deletion. Miss understanding on the close relation to the subject

The corrections made were to fix original mistakes that were based on not accurate articles. This is why I tried to remove them. Your recent editing history at Kilt shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

Birth Control

I’ve noticed you reverted my edit on the Wikipedia page on birth control, stating disagreement as your reason for reversion.

What exactly causes you to disagree with the definition of birth control as a method or practice which prevents childbirth?

My reasoning for changing the article is to point out the fact that contraception prevents conception, whereas birth control prevents childbirth, and those are different things. Abortion is not a form of contraception, but it is a form of birth control. 203.214.77.227 (talk) 10:32, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know, I saw your edits. Suggest adding "per [[Names of Myanmar#Adjectival forms and demonyms]]" to your edit summary as it is more readable and links more easily. Names of Myanmar#Adjectival forms and demonyms.
Is edit correct? Cheers Adakiko (talk) 02:07, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
Thanks, I was assuming there was probably a neater way to link to it.
The edit is mostly correct, but the original text was correct too. This is one of the issues with trying to write about Burmese in English - there is no accepted Romanisation of the script and then there is the added complexity of literary vs. spoken (or the written version of spoken) and historical shifts in pronunciation. So Mranma, Myanma and Myanmar can all be legitimate for မြန်မာ and pran/pyi for ပြည် (or even pyay or prome!). 124.168.249.132 (talk) 08:01, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
You are welcome! Thank you for making those fixes. Hard work for little acknowledgement. Is translating English to Burmese as difficult? Google translate helps me a lot. I wonder when it will become the expert and authority? Cheers Adakiko (talk) 08:07, 10 June 2022 (UTC)

Hi ! I'm just asking you about the page I most recently edited.

I think you made a mistake by removing my edit, but I don't really mind.

I estimate her age as 73 now (as she is born in 1948) using a age calculator.

Whether or not you'd reverse your edit, it's particularly my fault as I forgot to add a reliable resource of her.

Thank you for saying things that I may have did wrongly.

To be added to a list of notable people, the person must meet wp:notability (people) and should have a Wikipedia article (preferably) or wp:cite good wp:reliable sources that support their notability. Being a local celebrity probably would not be sufficient. Sorry. Adakiko (talk) 18:47, 30 June 2022 (UTC)

(To the IP user) - The article is currently semi-protected. Please note that the reverts you made to the article with the edit summaries stating that the other user was adding "vandalism" were, in fact, referring to edits that were not vandalism. Please familiarize yourself with what is and what is not vandalism before you make any more edits with a claim in the edit summary that you're removing or reverting vandalism, as your edit summaries in your reverts to this article were not correct. Unconventional computing

My edit to Unconventional computing removed the incorrect information. The leed of Analog computer says it's about continuous. While Mechanical computers can be analogue or digital, a slide rule is not the archytpical Mechanical calculator. Furthermore, it said that analogue computing relies on mechanical motion, which is simply not true, see Analog_computer#Electronic_analog_computers_2 for a counterexample. While I don't think you are acting in good faith, I will still respond clearly and in a civil manner. So wiki has rules, this is not 'nam. There are policies. You don't contradict officials when contributing. On the very page in question sources are cited showing clearly that officials do not suspect religion, race, or any other grouping to be motive thus stating Highland Park's Jewish community and Hispanic makeup is not relevant to the context of that page. If *after* the investigation is finalized and race or religion *are* shown to be motive, then that information would be relevant and thus applicable. As of right now it is grossly leading to a possibly dubious conclusion. Do you understand? 76.181.201.214 (talk) 09:42, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

@Adakiko: I already explained the reason for deletion. Even after that you are removing it. In the pages like Bheemla Nayak and Bangarraju I just deleted them because the former page I am shifting all the informations to the soundtrack article named Bheemla Nayak (soundtrack) and the latter I just deleted because they were weak sources and not a reliable one and cannot stay in the article. Station of Son of Beast

The station of Son of Beast is currently being used haunted house. It is mentioned later in the article but I’m mentioning it early so people can get better information. Redsfan1975 (talk) 00:53, 23 July 2022 (UTC)

@Redsfan1975: I don't see any of the words "Halloween", "haunt", nor "standing" in the article. Adakiko (talk) 00:59, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
Oh sorry I was wrong it wasn’t mentioned later. It is a true fact so we don’t really need sources to confirm the the station is used as Wolfpack in Halloween Haunt. Redsfan1975 (talk) 01:08, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
@Redsfan1975: On your talk page, I left a overly-long bit on citing sources. Content needs to be wp:verifiable. A lot of content on Wikipedia is not sourced, please don't use that as an excuse to source one's own additions. A good essay is wp:BURDEN.
I undid your edit to quail; that they are used for food is discussed above where you added it. Please avoid redundancy. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 01:19, 23 July 2022 (UTC)

What do I do if I ever want to just add on a sentence that goes along with the previous sentence, but I don’t have a source. Redsfan1975 (talk) 03:50, 23 July 2022 (UTC)

If what you add is in the source(s) for the previous sentence, or for the paragraph, nothing. Though you should mention where in the source in your edit summary. Otherwise someone might undo your edit and may warn you for unsourced content. If you don't have a source and it's your own knowledge, that is wp:original research (OR). If you are drawing a conclusion that isn't in the source, that is wp:SYNTHESIS. Neither OR nor SYNTHESIS are wp:verifiable and shouldn't be added. Please make sure your sentence is a useful addition or clarification. It should "improve" the article. Adding something because it "fits" may not be helpful. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 04:03, 23 July 2022 (UTC)

But they told that it was 60000. You've absolutely made a mistake. Joan Little IS the citation! MULTIPLE citations! I've done this with other rapists on that list, and Alligood is the one you wipe? I don't understand, why not just let me know first, or go to Joan's page an add citations from there. ContributingHelperOnTheSide (talk) 05:33, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

@ContributingHelperOnTheSide: Really? That's the only entry on List of serial rapists where the rapist's name isn't a Wikilink and the entry has no citations. It needs a citation. The WP:BURDEN on you is to provide an inline citation. Adakiko (talk) 07:09, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
I'm lost. I've done this several times, this has never happened before. Am I supposed to just link Alligood's name with Joan Little's article, or the section within it? ContributingHelperOnTheSide (talk) 07:36, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
Probally easiest to copy/paste reference(s) from the Joan Little article to the LoSR entry. You should give attribution WP:ATTREQ by in the LoSR edit summary such as "Copied reference from [[Joan Little]] article to the Alligood entry.". Pick one or two that covers most of the entry.
It is preferred that entries have their own citations rather than relying on the link. Correcting editors on this is lax; there are bigger fish to fry. Thanks for asking and keeping Wikipedia wp:verifiable! Cheers Adakiko (talk) 08:03, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
