Separate Article for Bowser's Fury?
[edit]Bowser's Fury launches in a little less than two weeks and media coverage on the game seems to be picking up steam. For example, I found the following articles that have come out in recent days:
- https://www.polygon.com/2021/1/27/22250848/bowsers-fury-preview-super-mario-3d-world-nintendo-switch
- https://www.theverge.com/22250703/super-mario-3d-world-bowsers-fury-nintendo-switch-hands-on-preview
Do folks have thoughts about whether we should spin Bowser's Fury out into its own article? I know we normally don't give ports their own articles but I lean in favor of spinning it out for a few reasons. First, its getting meaningful, independent media coverage. Second, it adds a lot of new content and features not present in Super Mario 3D World such that its not just a straight "remake" or "port". Third, Super Mario 3D World came out almost 8 years ago at this point and the passage of that much time suggests that this is not just a routine port (which usually come out much sooner to the original release).
That said, I see arguments going both ways here and figured I'd start a discussion rather than just unilaterally spin it out. That way, if I'm totally off base, hopefully folks will tell me so I don't waste my time. DocFreeman24 (talk) 00:45, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
- Think about what the content of this hypothetical article would be and how to best serve our readers. If the game will have notably different gameplay, development history, and reception such that trying to fill that info within this article would create scope issues, then yes split, but I don't see that happening. This is just a port with a few new game modes. TarkusABtalk/contrib 01:42, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
- Fair points. To your point about content, a hypothetical Bowser's Fury article is going to have both separate Development and separate Reception sections. The Plot section will likely have some overlap, but will also have a fair amount of unique content. The only substantive overlap I can see is going to be w/r/t the Gameplay section, which will be largely the same.
- As to expanding this article, I'm not opposed to doing so (and may get started with that already), but I think it may be a touch confusing because we're going to have two "development" sections that are going to things that are almost a decade apart.
- But I appreciate the input and perhaps I'll start building out the section shortly so we can have a better idea of what we're looking at. DocFreeman24 (talk) 02:16, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
- Definitely not yet. If there's some sort of explosion of coverage post-release, maybe? But if they're not even releasing it separately, I doubt we need a split either. I mean this article is far from size-split territory... Sergecross73 msg me 02:03, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
- I agree with the option to not make a separate article. I don't think that Bowser's Fury should be a separate article when it's not even a separate game. From what we've seen so far it's going to be similar to remakes like Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey (or whatever its called) for the 3DS. Just something extra for the remake. Blaze The Wolf | Proud Furry and Wikipedia Editor (talk) 19:06, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
Luigi bros is still in the Switch version

- Thank you. While that's not considered a reliable source, there was actually never a source for it being omitted in the first place, so it's best that you deleted it as you did. Sergecross73 msg me 13:42, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
[edit]Should Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury should have its own article? Cwater1 (talk) 01:25, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- No. we just discussed this mere sections above. Sergecross73 msg me 03:26, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
Bowser's Fury section
[edit]There used to be a section about Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, but then someone merged it into the Release section, shrinking it in the process. Should the section be restored? After all, Bowser's Fury has 3 trailers. 3. MarioFyreFlower (talk) 13:06, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- It doesn't really have to be in the release section. I personally don't care either way. I don't really think there's all that much to be said about the trailers though. The game is out now, so some of that stuff is going to be of less interest now. Sergecross73 msg me 14:13, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
Also, Bowser's Fury used to have a picture of the Cat Mario and Cat Peach Amiibos. What happened to them? MarioFyreFlower (talk) 13:10, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- Looks like it was deleted. Just as well, it didn't really add much to the article. Amiibo aren't particularly strongly tied to this game. Sergecross73 msg me 14:16, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- I think we need some commentary on the reception of the Bowser's Fury portion of the game. Ozdarka (talk) 16:33, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- Go for it. No ones trying to keep it out. I just deleted the empty section. We don't really need a separate section until someone not only writes something, but writes a lot - enough to warrant a section split. Sergecross73 msg me 17:45, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- Well the "expand" tag exists for a reason. Not every task is suited to every editor. Ozdarka (talk) 07:22, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

Mario Kart Tour
[edit]Mario Kart Tour added Meowser to the character roster. Could someone find a reliable source for Meowser in Tour? 99.209.40.250 (talk) 16:55, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
Indian release?
[edit]The article states there was a release in India, however as far as I'm aware Nintendo has no offical presence in India, neither as themselves or through a supplier. Can anyone confirm the legitimacy of the release? Nintentoad125 (talk) 05:26, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
- I've removed it as both unsourced, and against the guidelines to list out so many regions. Sergecross73 msg me 11:53, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
Possible GA
[edit]Hello, I have seen this article and I have read it thoroughly and I think that in my opinion it has possibilities of being GA. Although some sections could be improved, in general the article is not bad at all. So I am calling on the users @Panini!: and @The Green Star Collector: to see what they think about this idea. 2801:1CA:E:1411:BC4E:11BE:D31:294B (talk) 19:19, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- Currently not on my docket for similar reasons stated here. Actually, this article has pretty much all the same issues with that one as well. Although this article is a little easier to work around what's here, it would my in my nature to overhaul and do it my way regardless, so it would take quite some effort from me. Panini! • 🥪 20:47, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- I'm working on a few other articles at the moment, such as Mario Party: The Top 100 and Yoshi's New Island, but I'd be happy to make small improvements to this article wherever I can. I notice a few citations are missing authors. I'd also like to see the suggested references at the top of this page be put to use in some way. ★ The Green Star Collector ★ (talk) 23:47, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Panini!: and @The Green Star Collector: Okay, if you have plans for the article, I'll stop this discussion here. Otherwise, I wish you good luck. 2801:1CA:E:1411:940F:9764:EC50:9027 (talk) 20:16, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
