Hi! I mixed up the page name, it's es:Usuario:Pramos11/ASSIST. I'm going to ask at the noticeboard you pointed me to. Thanks, --Gnom (talk) 00:05, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

Import of : to [[]]

 • Language: de:Andres Veiel
 • New name: Andres Veiel
 • Note: -- I would like to translate the German article into English in my sandbox and add sources where needed before editing the English article which is currently online. Menuridae.
 • Note by importing administrator: Not done, because there is already page history at Andres Veiel on the English Wikipedia. Just put Translated page on the talk page of that article, once you're finished translating. Graham87 05:19, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

ok, xaosflux, can you point me to an example where this method has been used?

--C.Koltzenburg (talk) 06:51, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

@C.Koltzenburg:It is always messy, but what is important is that we are acknowledging the prior attributions, I suggest you translate on your page and then incorporate the changes to the main article, then ping me I'll work with you on getting the attributions in order (options include an article talk subpage for the prior attributions). In your merge-in edit use an edit summary indicating something like "updating to include translated text from de:Reisende auf einem Bein--see talk for attributions". — xaosflux Talk 14:14, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

Carrière romaine de El Mèdol

Sorry, Graham, my mistake! Please import it to my userspace as Reisen8/Inga Sempé in the English wikipedia, I will do the translation tomorrow or the day after and then transfer it into the name space. Thank you!--Reisen8 (talk) 15:59, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
@Reisen8:  Done. It's at User:Reisen8/Inga Sempé. Graham87 05:26, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Please import to user space: User:Bussakendle/Sandbox. Thanks bkb (talk) 16:40, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
Done @Bkb: I imported the page to User:Bussakendle/Paice (enterprise). After translating you can use 'move' to create the article. — xaosflux Talk 17:37, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

Thank you very much. I will upload the translated article asap. Ikp WIen (talk) 11:13, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
I just uploaded the english version of the article. would be great if you let me know when its moved to the article space. THX Ikp WIen (talk) 14:02, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
@Ikp WIen: I added the confirmed flag to your user account, you may now use the "Move" function to move this to the article space whenever you think it is ready. — xaosflux Talk 15:03, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
Thanks a lot. I think i have one last question: I´ve updatet the reference 1. in the article Gas_Connect_Austria to an english source. But at the bottom of the page there is still the evidence "(in German"). how can i change this? thank you so much for the support. Ikp WIen (talk) 09:19, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
@Ikp WIen: I've fixed this by using the cite web template instead of its German equivalent. Graham87 12:42, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
Thank you. You guys are great. Ikp WIen (talk) 06:41, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

OK bkb (talk) 17:20, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Some wires got crossed here ... it was supposed to be imported from the German version, there is no article on Siebenlehn in the nostalgia version ... --Schlosser67 (talk) 06:47, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
Oops, I've actually imported it this time. I wasn't really with it last night. Graham87 09:01, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
Of course, I meant Bieberstein Castle. I need to be more careful ... Thank you! --Schlosser67 (talk) 13:48, 11 July 2016 (UTC)

@Graham87: I'm not seeing an account existing for this userid, what are you looking for? — xaosflux Talk 15:45, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
@Xaosflux: Whoopsies! I meant Josiespet, the person who translated the article into English. Graham87 05:47, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

 • Language: de:User:Simonnemichellejones/Simonne Jones
 • New name: Simonne Jones
 • Note: --Simonne Jones 08:49, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
 • Note by importing administrator: Not done. I don't feel comfortable doing this (a:) because it's from your userspace; (b) because you have a conflict of interest; and (c) because you didn't follow my instructions above about signing messages. Please use the articles for creation process. Graham87 14:55, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
 • Note: I am sorry but you didn't give me any instructions before. Additionally, I don't think that I have a conflict of interest problem as long as I am not Simonne Jones myself, plus German wikipedia users told me to do so. Now you are telling me that you don't want to do it because it's in my userspace, I am confused a bit. Best regards! --Simonne Jones 16:21, 23 August 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Simonnemichellejones (talkcontribs)

I'll be happy to tag it appropriately, when I try to save it, though, it always wants to save as a .png, I'd rather keep the same file format. As it is fair use, that's why I seek it brought here rather than Commons.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 14:22, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
@Xaosflux and Kintetsubuffalo: With importupload, I can only transfer over the file description, which isn't particularly useful. Just reuploading it manually would be fine I think. Graham87 14:24, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
Great, can someone walk me through that? (vide alta) Side note, I sought out the original uploader, Benutzer:Ikarus81, they've made 3 edits in 7 years, so I think the original uploader being involved is not a viable route. Thanks both for getting back to me on this!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 14:27, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
@Egel:-I know someone who may be able to help. Thanks for the green light, will try this myself!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 14:29, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
Thanks, will do, you rock!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 14:33, 2 October 2016 (UTC)

@NearEMPTiness: did dewiki already do the import from ruwiki? — xaosflux Talk 05:02, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
@Xaosflux: Good catch. It looks like it. I'd be inclined to import all the revisions anyway; what are your thoughts? Graham87 06:06, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
Agree - was going to see about getting them if they were not there - seems good to go. — xaosflux Talk 06:58, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
Yes, the Russian list was already imported into the German article. Therefore, the importing the German list will be sufficient. --NearEMPTiness (talk) 08:18, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Thanks! Dan Koehl (talk) 18:30, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

Ok, thanks, sorry for that. Dan Koehl (talk) 04:58, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
Sorry for the inconvenience, thanks again @Xaosflux:, Dan Koehl (talk) 12:57, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
@Dan Koehl: All done. Graham87 13:46, 26 January 2017 (UTC)

Import of : to [[]]

@Graham87: Hello Graham, thanks for your help. The Translation is already in my User Space and can be found at 8 Surely I can also allow you to import but I could not find the appropriate function. Can you help me to find the right settings? Thanks a lot! AnnaDanzer (talk) 07:53, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

@AnnaDanzer: I've just cleaned up the page, moved it to the main namespace, and done the import there ... because that was the easiest thing to do. Graham87 09:19, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

@Graham87: Hello Graham, thanks sooo much for your help. My first entry in Wikipedia was more difficult than I thought. I really appreciate the work you're doing! Have a great day! AnnaDanzer (talk) 10:17, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the explanation, not NikitaVendel here, just trying to help someone with what looks like a translation from the Russian WP to their sandbox to this draft article. --122.108.141.214 (talk) 23:17, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for the note, I did a history merge to update Draft:RosPil; this now includes the attribution by way of an edit summary. — xaosflux Talk 23:55, 26 April 2017 (UTC)

yes it was sourced from there. what do I have to do now? can you help me please. thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by VaBW (talkcontribs) 13:27, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Done @VaBW: this has been imported (plus the original pre-translation history from dewiki) to Draft:Voestalpine Böhler Welding. This page still needs some cleanup to meet article standards. After you complete this, you can either move it to the article space (after you become autoconfirmed in 8 edits) or list it at Wikipedia:Requested moves to be moved for you. — xaosflux Talk 14:24, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

@Xaosflux: I created the article again, is it now possible to merge it with the german version and move it? — (talk)

 • Language: French
 • Note: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_Summits is a redirect to just 1 of the Earth Summits. The article on the "Earth Summits" is missing on the English wikipedia. The french wikipedia has a nice article on it with several paragraphs and links. I can help translate - I speak English and French. Is there any robot that helps with the links in the french wikipedia article to other french wikipedia articles? I assume many of the articles that are being referred to also exist in the English wikipedia. Is there any robot that helps linking them? thy PS sorry for screwing up this template. I'm clearly not smart enough to us it :) --SvenAERTS (talk) 16:15, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
 • Note by importing administrator: on hold Hi @SvenAERTS: this should be able to be done - but we need a little more information, and there is a step to do for you as well. First, can you give me a link to the existing article on the French Wikipedia? Then we can import it to your sandbox (e.g. User:SvenAERTS/Sandbox) for you to translate. Once translated, it can be moved over that redirect. Let me know if you have any questions. — xaosflux Talk 16:22, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
Hi Xaosflux, this is the original page : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sommet_de_la_Terre and this is my kick-off in the meantime: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_Summits --SvenAERTS (talk) 23:00, 5 July 2017 (UTC)

Done @SvenAERTS: the import is done, please be sure to finish Earth Summits. — xaosflux Talk 23:13, 5 July 2017 (UTC)

Sorry, I do not understand what you want to say because for the import I gave you a subfolder of my user page (User:JCS/Vince Ebert) as destination. I think that is what you call "user sandbox". I did not want a direct import to an article! --JCS (talk) 02:31, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
 Doing...xaosflux Talk 19:33, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
Done @JCS: Your import has been placed at User:JCS/Vince Ebert. Happy translating. — xaosflux Talk 19:35, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
Thank you very much! --JCS (talk) 21:50, 16 July 2017 (UTC)

 • Language: de:Coldmirror
 • New name: Coldmirror
 • Note: According to a comment in the history, the article was a translation coming from the German Wikipedia. Since the translation, the german article has been subject to some changes, so I think Import upload is necessary. Regards, --Freyn (Talk) 18:42, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
 • Note by importing administrator: Not done ... revision importation is and has always been only an option on the English Wikipedia, not a regular procedure, ad I don't really see the point of it in this case, especially because well over 300 revisions would need to be duplicated. Graham87 06:05, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
Yes, sry. The text was moved. The German versions should be importet to Draft:BLG Logistics. Atomiccocktail (talk) 15:52, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

And also this article is already translated and published: Angermuseum. Again, i'm sorry if i did something wrong, but although i asked, noone answered. Kind regards, --Gyanda (talk) 11:59, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

 Donexaosflux Talk 14:53, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

The test is translated? I don't know, what i did wrong. I have translated the text and posted it as an article. House Lemke- here is it. I entered at the first edit that this is a translation and added this info also on the discussion-site to the article. May i ask a favour? I saw that people in the english wikipedia put the house after the name, which would mean that the article better was named Lemke House instead of House Lemke - would it be possible that you rename it? I'm sorry that i'm causing so much inconvenience for you, i tried to get help at the helpdesk, but noone was answering. Sorry. --Gyanda (talk) 11:58, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

I was told that the issue-history of the article in the german wikipedia would be added to the now-existing article in the english wikipedia by this Request for page importation and that thus i would accomplish the rightholderissues. If that is wrong, i'm sorry. --Gyanda (talk) 12:02, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

Graham87, thank you for asking. **Actually I thought as I understood the manual that the article will be imported into my userspace automatically. That would be fine. I will do the translation there first. Thanks for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dupond2011 (talkcontribs) 07:53, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Import of :: to [[]]

Whaaaa???? Xaosflux, only the markup is in German; the text of the article is all in English. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:31, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for your support, Orangemike, but I already asked at the help desk for other options. Maybe there's a workaround or so regards, Sargoth (talk) 19:39, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
Doing... @Sargoth: and @Orangemike: apologies, I hadn't actually read the dewiki version; this request is unusual in that dewiki normally hosts articles in German, not English. — xaosflux Talk 19:40, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
Done @Sargoth: your import has completed. Please note, in its current shape this article is likely to be nominated for deletion as it is completely unsourced. Will you be taking care of the cleanup yourself? — xaosflux Talk 19:47, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
No, but I'll inform the author. Proceed as if this page would have been directly published here. Cheers --Sargoth (talk) 19:51, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
information Administrator note due to many editorial issues with this article, I've moved it to Draft:The Swiss Commission for UNESCO and notified the original dewiki author. — xaosflux Talk 02:13, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
