Who we are
[edit]- This is the user page of "OberMegaTrans" in the English language section of Wikipedia. This is my individual user page that I use to coordinate work with others on Wikipedia. Basically, what we do as a group of people - students and an instructor or two - at the University of Freiburg, is translate articles in the German language Wikipedia, or sometimes other languages (see below), into English for use on the English language Wikipedia. Sometimes we collaborate with other groups, like a group of instructors and students of German at the University of Aberdeen in 2010, to translate English language articles into German.
- Here's a list of articles we've translated or are translating into English, either completely or partially:
Latin Settlement, Friedrich Kapp, Basel Münster, Balko, Strausse, Anti-WAAhnsinns Festival, Harald Schmidt (ARD), Amok (Stefan Zweig book), Vicco von Bülow, German Red Cross, Cleopa Ilie, Alconétar Bridge , Eckart von Hirschhausen, Ephraimiten, Oliver Pocher, Schirmacher Oasis, Federal Election System (Germany), HIV/AIDS in Ukraine, Medieval Greek, electronic cash, Augsburger Puppenkiste, Elwetritsch, Freiburg Bächle, Kaiserstuhl, Counts of Freiburg, Walk of Ideas, Free City of Frankfurt, Illuminati, Kaiser-Joseph-Straße, Dreisam, Dieter Nuhr, List of deaths at the Berlin Wall, Pegida, Die Welle, Swabian-Alemannic Fastnacht, Donauquelle, Augustinermuseum, Nibelungen Museum Worms, Konzerthaus Freiburg, Green spaces in Freiburg, Asylum in Germany, Currywurst, Schauinsland, Culture of Remembrance, Otto Krayer, Heart of Stone, K.I.Z., Little Muck, Blutritt, Schorle, Why We Took the Car, Colombischlössle, How It Is (Wap Bap …), Höllentalbahn (Black Forest), Stadtgarten Freiburg, Rathaus (Freiburg im Breisgau), Wolfgang Herrndorf, Studierendenwerk Freiburg, COREU, Rieselfeld, Cut Off (film), and SC-Stadion.
- Occassionally we translate (parts of) articles into German:
A Mathematician's Apology and Pacific Crest Trail.
- Here's a list of some potential candidates for us to work on. Feel free to add your suggestions:

- If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions of articles for us to translate OR if you'd like to work with us, please don't hesitate to visit my discussion page and/or send us an email!
Templates
[edit]This page contains a translation of Whatever from de.wikipedia. |
To insert this template use: {{Translated|de|Whatever}} NB: Replace 'whatever' with the German name of the article! This template should be added to the Talk page of every article that we translate!
NB: If you want to use this template in other languages, you will also need to change "Translated" into the target language and the "de" will need to be changed to the original source language. To show, for instance, that you had translated (part of) the article Winal from English into Romanian, you would modify the template thus: {{Traducere|en|Winal}}.
This article contains translated text and needs attention from someone with dual fluency. |
To insert the template above use: {{cleanup-translation}}
This user page may require cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards. No cleanup reason has been specified. Please help improve this user page if you can; the talk page may contain suggestions. |
To insert the template above use: {{cleanup}}
This article is currently the subject of an educational assignment. |
To insert the template above use: {{EducationalAssignment}}
This article is in the process of being translated from Etwas in the German-language Wikipedia. In order to reduce edit conflicts, please consider not editing it while translation is in progress.
To insert the template above use: {{Beingtranslated|de|Etwas}} NB: Replace 'Etwas' with the German name of the article! (See above)
Info found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Being_translated/doc
To insert a map of a certain location use: {{maplink|frame=yes|plain=yes|type=point|coord=00°00′00″N 00°00′00″E / 0.00000°N 0.00000°E|title=Location} NB: Change the coordinates and the location name
This article has been translated from the article Etwas in the German Wikipedia, and requires proofreading. |

Login Update
[edit]Wikipedia & related projects now allow a Unified Login. Simply put, this allows you to create ONE account with ONE Username and ONE Password using ONE email address that can be used in (almost?) all languages and projects of Wikimedia/Wikipedia, etc. This is great news. This is progress. This makes translating and working with multiple languages much easier. If you want to find out how to unify accounts you've already created, read this. Otherwise you should just be able to switch from language to language, from project to project with the same username; you'll see your username at the top - in red at first, until/unless you create your userpage (in that particular language or project).
