Fancruft song articles

This guy User talk:Ayush Gupta At Wikipedia creates fancruft song articles which are not even rewuired. Because Indian songs are no Chart toppers or Billboard hits. They hardly sell. They are used in films and have zero information regarding their production. This guy has already reverted my edit twice. The name of the song (Deewani Mastani Song) is not even accurate. Plus it was deleted a while ago. And, then the fancruft articles like these List of Urdu songs recorded by Shreya Ghoshal and several others. I mean even Adele doesn't have songs her song articles categotised like Adle's no 1 hits, no 2 hits, blah blah blah..... I don't know how to handle this guy or the situation. Please look at it.Krish | Talk 09:21, 3 July 2016 (UTC)

Seems like he himself has redirected the page. As for list of songs, we have plenty of such lists. Vensatry (talk) 15:44, 3 July 2016 (UTC)
He moved the contents to Deewani Mastani. That article was redirected by someone who redirected lots of song articles including this one. But this user creates articles even for songs like Nanga Punga Dost. Really? Coming to that category, yes we have lots of them. They are not divided by language. Shakira and JLO have recorded songs in English as well as their native language, but I don’t see an article called List of English Songs recorded by Shakira. Do you? According to him, everything is about Shreya Ghoshal only. Plus, check my talk page history, you will see abusive language and threats.Krish | Talk
For a song to have an article on its own it should pass WP:NSONG. Coming to list of songs recorded by a singer in particular language, it's fine to have such lists as long as they don't violate WP:CFORK. Vensatry (talk) 07:55, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

Different groups of his family members are fighting it out in the article. I've protected it but someone with better Tamil film knowledge is required to source and clean up the article, can you take a look? —SpacemanSpiff 05:51, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

IIRC, the same thing happened with T. M. Soundararajan's article sometime back. I'm likely to remain inactive till Sunday. I'll see if I can do something later on. Vensatry (talk) 03:11, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

Source for BO reports

What kind of source do you take for BO reports? Neenga Tamil Thane? I have given a source for Kabali BO on kabali talk page, Do not mistake me you have taken the same website, new, media source for other movies but why not for Kabali?

http://www.ibtimes.co.in/kabali-7-days-box-office-collection-rajinikanths-film-ends-high-note-first-week-688236#Jpg3iaS1KVCv5rTB.97

This is a reliable source please check it. They are the same one who calculated the BO result of Thani Oruvan and even wikipedia has updated that article. So try this source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.75.82.89 (talk) 07:25, 31 July 2016 (UTC)

The source quotes Dhanu. Given that he's the producer of the film, we cannot take his claim into account as it borders WP:PRIMARY. Vensatry (talk) 07:55, 3 August 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Mathar Kula Manickam

On 2 August 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mathar Kula Manickam, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mathar Kula Manickam. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Mathar Kula Manickam), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Kabali

Hi Vensatry. Really long time. In the wake of Rajinikanth's FLC, i want to know whether you watched Kabali? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 14:49, 24 July 2016 (UTC)

Nope. :( Will watch it this week. I'm guessing that you might have seen the film. Vensatry (talk) 15:13, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
I did. No spoilers, but please don't expect the electrifying teaser to be a true reflection of this film. What a restrained performance by Rajinikanth, his eyes do the talking most of the times. The scene where he hallucinates his wife everywhere and then takes the truth in his stride—Where this actor has been? What a subtle yet moving act! Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:23, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
I've been closely following the reviews (friends, Facebook critics, paid reviewers, et al.,). I'm not disappointed because, I expected the film to be of this kind. Have you seen Madras? Vensatry (talk) 15:37, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
I did. I liked the way he used a wall as a metaphor for the bones of contention between two warring ideologies. Realistic film, though someone more actually rustic than Catherine would've been a good choice for the female lead. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:43, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
I thought she was a good choice (but yes, not the 'perfect' one). But mind you, Karthi was the hero. :) Vensatry (talk) 15:46, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
I felt like that because as Madras was raw and real. Despite its flaws, it remains the best of Ranjith and Santhosh IMHO. Kabali did have a good score throughout but Ranjith actually scores in parts. :P Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:09, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
A lot of people feel Attakathi>Madras>Kabali. Vensatry (talk) 07:56, 3 August 2016 (UTC)

I respect that. I am happy that Kabali is not another Lingaa. I read that Rajinikanth's liking for Nayakan was one of the reasons he agreed to act in Kabali. The staged ending does resemble that film, but did look out of place as well. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:33, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

If properly cropped/removed watermark, this and this from Bollywood Hungama may fit the bill for the FLC. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 04:26, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

Thanks but these vertical images will bloat the lead. Vensatry (talk) 05:19, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

I have expanded the article to an extent larger than it was at GA level, even at the cost of Dhananjayan's books. Do you find it good enough for FAC yet? Kailash29792 (talk) 06:18, 17 July 2016 (UTC)

At 16.5k chars, it's much shorter than Chandralekha and Mayabazar. Before proceeding to the FAC, it's good to have the production section expanded and something about the box-office performance. Vensatry (talk) 06:38, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
I think you should also be the nominator, considering you made it GA. And once I manage to acquire this book, in which the author has written about the film in great detail, I think it will be more FAC worthy. Besides, do you find anything useful from this 1954 source (Page 1 and Page 2)? Kailash29792 (talk) 06:55, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
How dare you ask me? *just kidding* You want me to translate the stuff? Vensatry (talk) 06:59, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
Here's another useful source. Vensatry (talk) 07:10, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
The information given by Legends of Indian Silver Screen seems redundant since the info has already been added from different sources, and the page numbers are not marked either. Kailash29792 (talk) 07:30, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
All the pages so far from Pillai's book. Kailash29792 (talk) 16:59, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the link. Be careful about close-paraphrasing while adding text from the source. Vensatry (talk) 07:58, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
What I am telling you, the will-be-co-nominator is, now that you have pages from the book, you could make necessary changes to the article that I never could. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:39, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
I'll be out of station for a week, starting from today. Please settle any PR issues with Andha Naal until I return. Also, do please notify Redtiger to see if his comments have been resolved. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:49, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

Unwritten rule?

From when did Wikipedia start believing in unwritten rules? If it ain't written, it ain't a rule. TV shows, as with films, are deemed notable when principal photography begins. And most definitely the ones that have already been given a series order by a major channel. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 06:37, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

I meant this essay. Your assumption is not true because WP:NF doesn't talk about television. Vensatry (talk) 06:43, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
Umm... that's exactly what I said. This is not a television pilot that is yet to be picked up for series. It has already been given a full season order AND is filming. So it does meet the requirements, per that essay you cite. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 06:46, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
It says, in most cases, a television series is not eligible for an article until its scheduling as an ongoing series has been formally confirmed by a television network. I'd be happy to include when it goes on air. Vensatry (talk) 07:09, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

Say something about Run (2002 film)

@Vensatry, see Run, say, is this film's Telugu version should have another extra page like Aakali Rajyam ? a. haylesh(message) (contributions) 17:08, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

Unfortunately, not all bilingual films deserve to be multiple distinct articles if they have mostly the same cast. E.g.: Eega and Naan Ee share the same article due to minimal differences, while Raavan and Raavanan have major differences. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:25, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
@আইশ্টে হায়লেশ: In the case of Run, it's clearly stated that the Telugu version is a dubbed one with only the portions involving Vivek being separately shot. I repeat, AR is not a dubbed one but a simultaneously shot version. Kailash29792, so are Aaytha Ezhuthu and Yuva. It purely depends upon the coverage that each of the versions get. In this case, Kamal's FF award warrants the film to have a standalone article. Just because these films belong to the pre-internet era, it doesn't mean we shouldn't have separate articles. Vensatry (talk) 18:08, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

@Vensatry, I think the pages of Zara Si Zindagi, Varumayin Niram Sivappu and Aakali Rajyam should be repaired because in these three pages 'Aakali Rajyam' has been mentioned as dubbed. And I request you to watch Varumayin Niram Sivappu, please mention if scenes are same or different between this and 'Aakali Rajyam', though Kamal Haasan character's father is different, Kamal's Telugu voice is original, But I am not going to edit those articles again, it's your or Kailash's duty. Aishte haylesh (message/my works) 02:00, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

Zara Si Zindagi? That's the Hindi remake released three years after the original with a totally different cast and crew. Kamal dubs for himself in all languages; dubbed versions are an exception though (SPB is his voice in Tamil-Telugu dubbed ones). Vensatry (talk) 05:41, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

@Vensatry, I urge you to watch Varumayin Niram Sivappu in YouTube. আইশ্টে হায়লেশ (talk) 09:34, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
