Thor: The Dark World

Hey there! Hope you're having a good holiday. I have to express some confusion over your reversion rationale for Thor: The Dark World. I can't argue that secondary sources are better than primary, but if we're applying that logic to the film's actual credits, shouldn't we be looking for sources in the plot section too? I also don't get how any of the information that's sourced would be challenged. All you have to do to see who the writers and director are is watch the film or look at its poster.

I know it probably seems like I've been challenging you guys a lot lately, but there's some stuff in these articles that just kinda confuses me. That source was definitely one of them, and I'm still confused about it.

Most importantly, though, I hope you have a happy new year! Sock (tock talk) 21:02, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

Thank you and happy new year to you too. There's nothing wrong with having foot notes in the plot section either and we typically do for things that might need outside confirmation. The point is more refs are better than fewer to make verifiability easier for readers. Not everyone has access to the film..--TriiipleThreat (talk) 22:01, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
Couldn't we find a way to integrate the writer info into "Development" so we don't have unneeded sources in the lead? Surely there's an article somewhere talking about Yost, Markus, and McFeely writing the film. Sock (tock talk) 00:41, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
Be bold.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 03:30, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

Happy New Year!

Dear TriiipleThreat,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Thank you for the kind thoughts and for all your consistently excellent work. Last year was a hard one, both physically, thanks to medical ailments, and on Wikipedia, thanks to a plethora of Wikitrolls. Colleagues like you make staying here worthwhile. Here's to a better year to all!

I saw that the Karen Gillan image got deleted right after you got it cleared for undeletion. Just have a cookie, cookies make everything better. And I'm sure the issue will be resolved soon enough! Sock (tock talk) 21:30, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Marvel NOW update

It looks like that Marvel will be ending the Avengers and New Avengers series soon and here is an official link to help verify this [1]. Also here is a link to something else for you to look into, though there is not anything too official about this yet. [2] -73.190.124.47 (talk) 01:28, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

Cassie Lang

Hello. I've seen that you've reversed my edit on the Cassie Lang page. I don't see the reason for it; I took pains to search for references for such news, I added those as speculation and therefore not something 100% certain, even though the trailer explicitly mentions that the protagonist has a daughter. So, why wasn't it good enough? Italianhistorian88 (talk) 12:27, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Please see WP:RUMOR. The last sentence reads "Speculation and rumor, even from reliable sources, are not appropriate encyclopedic content." Also please keep in mind Wikipedia is not the news and we cannot use IMDb as a source.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 12:45, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
Very well, I admit I did not know IMDb was not a reliable source. Even though I believe that the fact that the trailer's mentioning of a daughter makes this more than mere speculation of rumor, I will wait for something official from the director or something to put in.
Italianhistorian88 (talk) 13:09, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) FYI, I do believe some news outlets have used the word "Cassie" in describing Lang's daughter in the trailer (I believe IGN's interview with Judy Greer) but that is most likely speculation on their part, because all we have gotten from Marvel/the production team, is that Lang's daughter will be featured. We can't assume that means Cassie until we have a source backing that up. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:10, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

I understand that, and I have already said I will wait precisely for something like that to attempt another edit. I merely said that I thought that, given Cassie's importance to Scott as it stood in the comics, and given the fact that the "daughter" word was used, it was something just a bit more than a wild guess. In any case, I'll wait for something reliable to be said by the director or someone else. Italianhistorian88 (talk) 20:24, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Black Panter on the List of MCU Films page

I understand why you reverted this edit but can you explain to me why Panter is not mentioned in the recurring cast table when we know he is in Civil War (Cap) and Black Panther, two completely different franshices?--Ditto51 (My Talk Page) 20:17, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

We don't know the billing for Civil War yet. More than likely he will be included, we just cant make assumptions.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:22, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
Ah okay, thanks for replying so quickly.--20:45, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

Superhero

Hiya, Triiip. I can't tell you how good it is to see your name next to an edit on my watchlist. It's always comforting to know I can just skip that article by since it's in good hands.

Things have been calm on this end for a little over a month, I guess .... no aggressive crazies, thank goodness.

If you get a chance, you might want to keep an eye on Superhero. It's a long-problematic article with an enormous amount of fancruft, and lately that seems to be getting worse.

Just three more months or so till '"Avengers: Age of Ultron....! --Tenebrae (talk) 22:48, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the complement and I'm glad to hear things are going well. As for Superhero, I have no clue where to begin. It would seem to be a notable article but based almost entirely on WP:OR. Yeah I can't wait for A:AoU either, I've been trying to hard to avoid all footage until it comes out.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 14:35, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Now, I am very pleased to announce:

There is going to be a lot going on, and I hope you can come to some of the events!

Removing these statements.

It needs to stop. I provided a good 5 to 10 references on these additions and you're removing them simply because you believe Latino-Times isn't reliable. So what? The million other speculations from other reliable sources aren't good enough? Removing multiple-sourced material isn't going to get you anywhere. I understand the WP:Pages you have provided. I'm not dumb, I'm well aware. Eric - Contact me please. I prefer conversations started on my talk page if the subject is changed 23:34, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

@Kamek98: Actually you need to stop. Every single one of those sources traces back to Latino-Review, which has been deemed to be an unreliable source on multiple occasions at WP:RSN. One even says it is a rumor in the headline. But even so WP:SPECULATION states "Speculation and rumor, even from reliable sources, are not appropriate encyclopedic content." Also editors are expected to follow the WP:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle, which simply states that once your edit has been reverted, you should seek consensus on the article's talk page, not re-revert.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 23:48, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
In that case, I'm removing the statements about O'Brien and Lerman since they, too, are rumors and speculation. Eric - Contact me please. I prefer conversations started on my talk page if the subject is changed 23:50, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer Parody by Community

Could, or shoud there be an inclusion to the Age of Ultron page regarding the parody trailer set forth by Community? Here's the source/link Npamusic (talk) 21:09, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Hmmm, I don't think so. It was not produced as a marketing device for the film and we generally don't include parodies on the target's article. It can be included on the Community (season 6) page with a link to the Age of Ultron article. But that is just my opinion, you can seek a larger consensus on the article's talk page, if you like.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:19, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
Na, it's cool, figured I'd ask ya. Thanks for the heads up! Also, is my edit on the Civil War page acceptable? I cited everything correctly and it hasn't been changed in the last hour or so, so I'm assuming it's acceptable? Npamusic (talk) 23:21, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, that was a good edit.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 23:32, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Captain America: Civil War; Spidy Inclusion

Hey Tripp, can you please go to the Draft page for Civil War and take a look at the sentences where it's including Spider-Man into the MCU/Civil War. The Sentences, and the coma for instance, it just looks disjointed to me. It doesn't look like a sentence that makes complete sense. the second line, jus looks incoherent to the first line. Can you please go in and fix it up so it doesn't look like a jumbled mess? I hope you understand what I'm talking about. Fav edited my wording, but kept the source, which just makes the entire sentence, even with the comma, look out of place. Uneven, if you will. Thanks! Npamusic (talk) 07:00, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Renaming filmography pages

Question: Since you brought up the proposition for Benedict Cumberbatch performances → List of Benedict Cumberbatch performances, should we consider renaming all filmograph/credit pages that are just a list of credits? Like Robert Downey Jr. filmography, Tom Hanks on screen and stage, etc. ? LADY LOTUSTALK 17:50, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Uniformity is nice but it is not required. My problem is language. The title should reflect the scope of the article as accurately as possible. I have no problem with Robert Downey Jr. filmography as filmography is a list of films by definition. On the other hand, Tom Hanks on screen and stage should probable be renamed. One might expect more than a mere list with such a title. It sounds like it should give in depth coverage of his stage and screen career.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 18:23, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply, I'm JUST now seeing this. I opened up a discussion on Talk:Tom Hanks on screen and stage if you'd like to comment :) LADY LOTUSTALK 12:27, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
What sounds better List of Gerard Butler films or List of Gerard Butler filmography, the latter doesn't sound right to me but I figured I'd ask. LADY LOTUSTALK 16:38, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
Out of the two, the first is better. The second doesn't sound right because "filmography" already implies that it's a list. So it would be Gerard Butler filmography or Filmography of Gerard Butler.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 17:05, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
I didn't realize Gerard Butler filmography was the current title. Why do you want to change it?--TriiipleThreat (talk) 17:08, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
I don't necessarily but to only keep uniform with other pages. But if you say that filmography already implies list then it'd be a horizontal step in renaming it yes? lol LADY LOTUSTALK 20:26, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
Yes, it would.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 13:44, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Not really

The cumulative installment number was stated but not for the phase. Not everyone is going to look at the template. Is it really bothering you that I placed that there? I mean no hostility by that, I'm just confused. It helps the article and it fits in the introduction rather than the body of the article. Eric - Contact me please. I prefer conversations started on my talk page if the subject is changed 18:47, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

Update: Per WP:FILMLEAD, it falls in line with spin-offs (Succeeding paragraphs in the lead section should cover important aspects of the film detailed in the article body and not mentioned already in the first paragraph. These include milestones or major events in the film's production, prominent themes, reception of the film by critics and audiences, box office grosses and milestones, controversies, summary of awards and honors, spin-offs (e.g., sequels, remakes, other media), and any significant impact the film has made in society.) Eric - Contact me please. I prefer conversations started on my talk page if the subject is changed 18:52, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
It's really unnesecary. It already states which film it is in MCU and which film it is within the character / group franchise. Further information about the series can be found elsewhere.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 18:55, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
With all due respect I disagree, it adds navigational quality to the article and links to other pages of interest related to that page. We could just add it to the sentence (it is intended to be the blah installment to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, [insert what I added here], but that would be a long sentence. Since the body of the page should talk specifically about the film itself, all spin-offs related to the larger association of the film should be addressed in the introduction. That is, where it is relevant. In this case, it is relevant in the introduction. The films are pieces of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and are prequels/sequels in chronology to each other. Iron Man 2, for example, is the sequel to Iron Man. However, the MCU's intended chronological sequel to Iron Man is The Incredible Hulk. That means, in both ways, Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk are both true sequels to Iron Man. (Yeah, I know this is a bad example because The Incredible Hulk was released the same year Iron Man was released) Eric - Contact me please. I prefer conversations started on my talk page if the subject is changed 19:07, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
That's why we have the navbox. The lead already establishes that it is a part of a series of films. Again to find further information about this series, one can simply go to the main article. Adding this info to each of the individual articles is overly exhaustive.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 19:17, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
Not everyone knows there is a navbox... but that's beyond the point. It is one sentence, really, and I was fine putting it up. So, again, how is one sentence exhaustive? It flows fine too. I'm just baffled upon the rejection of its inclusion. Eric - Contact me please. I prefer conversations started on my talk page if the subject is changed 19:22, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
The navbox is there for everyone, but there are other means of navigating around it if one so chooses. As I said we already state which film it is within the MCU and in the character / group franchise. You're adding another layer to this already lengthy component. Also it's not like we already didn't contemplate doing it like that, the existing wording is what we found to be the simplest solution.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 19:34, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Agree with everything Triiiple has stated. No need for this in the lead give all the more relevant info already there. That is, again, what the navbox is for. And, a reader can find this info out from the main MCU page and the list of films page. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:59, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
What if we were to do this: ...intended to be the # installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the # installment of Phase #. Eric - Contact me please. I prefer conversations started on my talk page if the subject is changed 20:08, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
There really isn't any importance of where it lands in the Phase. The notable "locations" as it were are the number in the MCU and within its own film series. There was a previous discussion I think at Iron Man 3 a while back (or if not a discussion, through a few edits/edit summaries) and the same conclusion was drawn on this - it's not needed. Plus, more likely than not, it is mentioned somewhere in the production section which phase the film is in. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:16, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Avegers' Images

User:TriiipleThreat Then please tell me the way how I can upload those images on Wikipedia. I only downloaded those from Facebook page.

@ABHBOSS: I'm afraid you cannot, atleast not in that manner. We do not simply upload non-free images for the sake of illustration. There has to specific rationale to justify its use (see WP:NFCC).--TriiipleThreat (talk) 06:23, 16 April 2015 (UTC)
Also you cannot simply copy the rationale from another file. It has to unique and specific to each file but regardless, all of those images would still fail WP:NFCC#3b and WP:NFCC#8.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 06:42, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

Scarlet Witch in Civil War

Can we use Hypable? They seem to be independently reporting on the same content CBM was. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:30, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, it seems weakly reliable. They have editorial oversight but their credentials aren't that strong. I'd say its fine for now but would replace it with a stronger source if one comes around.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:38, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
Maybe we can us it to feed the news hungry masses on TWS, and hold off on the draft? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:59, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
It's a passable source, either way. We can just swap it out for a better one later.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 23:37, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

In other news, I keep seeing editors on the film actors page change info on Brolin in AoU. If we need a source, I have the original one when we thought a while back this would be true, in my sandbox if we need it. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:49, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

Probably won't count for much, but I just watched the film (Which was great) and he is in the end credits scene so I would say to use it.--Ditto51 (My Talk Page) 19:27, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

Mjolnir

I think its best left alone. The section already mentions its appearance in the film and would be bit WP:UNDUE to single out that film especially when Thor deals more with the ability to lift it. At the same time, we don't want to rehash the plot of Thor or any of the other films.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:03, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
Fair enough. --GentlemanGhost (converse) 20:06, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

I have noticed some of your changes to the A-Force pages during the Secret Wars storyline. My recent one had me lower-casing the Shield (originally called the Wall) which was not spelled in all caps. The only authorities for King Doom that handle the lawbreaking on this version of Battleworld are the Thor Corps. As a recent addition, I also mentioned that the as-yet-unidentified mysterious figure crashed into the Bishop Lighthouse where I mentioned as where the character landed. I'm just letting you know that. --Rtkat3 (talk) 16:42, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

@Rtkat3: Its spelled in all caps in the issue, it could be a abbreviation, I'm not sure. We don't need to mention the Thor Corps by name, the important thing is that whoever it is, was acting on behalf of Doom. Also where the figure landed isn't relevant. But I'm glad you brought this up because it speaks to a larger concern that I've noticed regarding your edits. You seem to relish in adding very specific details to the plot. Believe it or not, plots of non-free works (comics, books, tv shows, movies, etc) are protected intellectual property. As such, summaries should be kept to the barest minimum details as possible to convey the plot. Name dropping is a good example of excessive details.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 16:57, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
Actually everything is all caps.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:08, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

Iron Man update

Marvel just announced that one of their new upcoming series after the Secret Wars event is Invincible Iron Man which I will provide you with a source link [5]. At this point it looks like Superior Iron Man is over. Also Marvel has posted an article which includes a picture with the new costumes for some of the characters [6]. It looks like the title which will serve as the official replacement of the Marvel Now! slogan is All-New All-Different Marvel (as seen in the article). Quick Question

You seem knowledgeable on most of the policies on sources and whatnot, so (even if you don't watch the show) would this source be allowed for a series regular returning? I seem to remember reading somewhere that if the person is asked on social media and they answer then it can't be used, something about self-sourcing i think? --Ditto51 (My Talk Page) 18:34, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

The source seems fine. It would be considered a WP:PRIMARY source, which are fine but articles should not rely on them. Also when it comes to social media, unverified accounts are generally frowned upon because anybody can pose as the author, but that's not a problem here.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 18:44, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

SVG image

Is it possible for you to upload an SVG version of this image? Suicide Squad

Is there a particular reason you're being a dick about this? I spent an hour making that image last night then the following day, knowing that image exists, you've chosen to make another image and then become incredibly petty that said image was removed, when you removed my image with a "(+/- image)" edit summary. Those photos are atrocious from the MOS perspective, they are looking at arbitrary angles and largely OFF the article and are primarily from the side, you've omitted Leto because he isn't a part of the squad, ignoring that neither Waller nor the director are either, and the director isn't part of the cast. Darkwarriorblake / SEXY ACTION TALK PAGE! 21:21, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

I'm really disappointed by this response, I thought you knew me better than that. I appreciate your efforts and in no way am I trying to be a dick. I even took your advice and made a "printable" version. As I stated I think it's more important to have images that are contemporary to the making of the film and have a connection to the film. It provides much meaning context. I can face them in same direction if you like. Instead of being at odds, I don't see why we can't work togther on a version we both can agree. Gage uploaded many photos from the panel to his flickr account that we can choose. Unfortunately, Leto was not there but I thinks it's better to have the complete epynoumous team plus a few others. I added Ayer because of the layout and we can't argue the importance of the director.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:52, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Comic Book nerd ?

How old r u ? I'm 42 1/2. Do u edit anything aside from comic book & sci-fi stuff ? :P

Thank u for the pedantic link to plotbloat, as Supreme Court Justice THurgood Marshall once said 'If u can't improve some1's taste or morality, then get them on a technicality' ...I sure hope that my "bloating" does not cost Wiki- $ for more server space :P

Dude, calm down, he was just explaining why he reverted your edit, which is because you were adding more detail than necessary. If you don't like the Wikipedia policies then go and create a Wikia on the subject. People on Wikipedia are allowed to edit what they want and tend to edit different areas to begin with and then settle on an area that they are comfortable with, be it Comics, Science Fiction in general or all things about spoons.
PS, are you sure you're 42 and 1/2? Tends to only be small children who use the half as a distintion and your spelling and punctuation is almost definitaly not that of the average 42 year old, even if you meant it as a joke.--Ditto51 (My Talk Page) 21:26, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

There's a note referenced at the end of the sentance about Veronica and the Hulkbuster armor. Also it isn't seen or referenced again, so there really is no need to name it. WP:PLOTBLOAT says to avoid technical minutiae. It just makes it wordier than it needs to be.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 04:13, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

Spider-Man toys

If these don't belong in the Spider-Man in other media article where do they belong? Spidey104 14:30, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

Same questions for these too. Spidey104 14:31, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
@Spidey104: They don't fit the definition of media (communication). But I don't think they belong at all, these toy sections are hopelessly incomplete (How could they be complete with the massive volume of Spider-Man related toy). Most of the are unsourced or poorly sourced. They reek of WP:INDISCRIMINATE. The real-life Spider-Men section could probably be moved to the main article.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 14:37, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

TriiipleThreat is correct on the fact that we shouldn't need to describe every toy or merchandise the superhero has. But I do believe we can summarize information regarding the merchandise. For example: this article. Although the character article might be a better fit if one disagrees that it should be referred to as "media". Jhenderson 777 16:13, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

I agree the would be a better and more useful approach.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 18:39, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
I totally agree that the "real-life Spider-Men" didn't belong and I like how you moved it over to the main article.
I agree that the amount of toys for a character like Spider-Man is so large it will make any list WP:INDISCRIMINATE, but for characters like Cardiac and Demogoblin those lists were complete because the characters hardly have any exposure outside of the source comic books. I agree that they don't fit the definition of "other media" but I also don't think it's appropriate to remove that information. Is there a separate heading we could give to those sections? For Cardiac removing that toy/game it removed his entire "In other media" section and I think it's important to show how these characters have been adapted into other iterations. Spidey104 18:46, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
Perhaps under a separate heading, but keep in mind the information was sourced to unreliable or primary sources. Everything on Wikipedia should be able to be verified by third-party reliable sources. How is it encyclopedic if the only people mentioning it are directly associated with it.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 18:55, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

Someone started a discussion about this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Comics#Do toys and games qualify as 'other media'?--TriiipleThreat (talk) 18:59, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

Let's continue this discussion there so we can get a larger group of editors in on the discussion. Spidey104 19:50, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
@Spidey104: I see that you have begun the process of reverting my edits. Just please be sure to incorporate the changes that we discussed; separate headings, [citation needed] tags for unsourced information, and [better source needed] tags for primary sources. Thanks.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 15:36, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the reminder. I forgot the tags for the edits I already did, but I've now gone back and added those. The separate headings was already done. I definitely won't be able to work through all of these soon, but I'll do what I can. Spidey104 15:42, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

Rollback on Ambush Bug "Other Media"

I rolled back the edit on "Other Media" in the Ambush Bug page, because a medium is a means of agency of doing something--in this case, entertainment, so a role-playing game and action figures qualify just as well as print, TV, animation, film, and the like. Ant-Man

Hi, just noticed the Ant-Man edit. I'm glad you're taking the balance seriously although I originally added the Empire review because it appeared somewhat unbalanced prior given for a film with 80% positivity, it had one whole paragraph of just negative and a second of a couple of decent reviews and couple of "meh" reviews. I know Wikipedia should balance things but when something is mostly positive, the weight just doesn't seem to reflect it all that much currently from my perspective. I just thought I politely throw that out there since adding yet another lackluster lines made the original edit redundant in a way and I'm not sure if the reception is all that balanced, although I would be happy to get yours and maybe a second opinion all the same. Thanks.

EDIT: Apologies. Just so we're both clear, I'm inquiring even with Wikipedia:NPOV you mentioned, regarding 'balancing different views' and weight among sources, hence immediately stating '80%' but then not reflecting this being the reason for my quick inquiry/confusion. Frankly Man (talk) 14:59, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the polite comment. Just because the tomato meter is 80% doesn't mean we should present 8 positive reviews and 2 negative ones. We always try to balance critical opinions to stay neutral as the tomato meter alone doesn't reflect how strongly each critic felt about the film. While the tomato meter is 80%, the average critical score on RT is only 68%. Furthermore, the just as notable Metacritc score is 64%. So its important to present a wide range of opinions from the exuberant to the apathetic.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 16:31, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
Absolutely, I didn't want to infer that we to reflect that one source such as 80% = 8 and 2 reviews. Rather that based on the choice of review quotes and weight given to them it appears mixed, 50/50 or even slightly negative overall given the very lackluster lines even on the positive side, hence why I'm somewhat confused in this article as opposed to other Marvel films or even films in general where the weight reliable reception sources are reflected due to their prominence of view point, at least according to the NPOV guidelines (unless I'm getting them confused, in which case apologies). Frankly Man (talk) 17:04, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
Its a good mix of reviews, especially considering the 68% average. A good portion of the reviews were lackluster but still contributed to the 80% tomato meter. But I don't thinks its our job to come up with a ratio of positive to negative reviews based on the aggregator scores. We present the aggregator scores as an overview followed by a balanced sample of reviews from all sides. This allows readers to make their own judgment and minimize any potential bias.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 19:48, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
By all means, I think what I'm seeing is something of a disparity of reception weight between articles and topics (I've worked on a number of video game articles, being different in structure to lets say TV as another example), I suppose that is a larger matter beyond us for Wikipedia in general. Still, even with your addition following my edit, at least the first paragraph is somewhat more positive overall, that being my main issue prior. Thank you for your input. Frankly Man (talk) 21:31, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

Age of Ultron codenames

RE: My Avengers 2 edit. I disagree, the codenames are used frequently in the film. Almost everyone calls Captain America "Cap", not "Steve" or "Rogers". Referring to Hawkeye as Barton or Captain America as Rogers is also confusing for fans of these characters when reading the synopsis, especially when they've been around in some form or another for 50+ years. The titles of previous and upcoming films also favour the codenames. Can we agree to at least include their codenames in the synopsis for the first instance of their name appearing - ie - Steve Rogers (Captain America) - and then use the surnames as a form of shorthand thereafter? Thanks for your time. --Rocket1377 (talk)

I can't find a copy of the script, but I'm sure the characters' given names are the most frequent usage just like in the other films. The plot summary is based on the on-screen events and dialogue since the casual viewer may not be steeped in the characters 50+ year lore. That said, we use surnames rather than given names in professional writing wherever possible. Also adding the superhero name in the first instance just adds to the word count, which we initially try to keep as low as accurately possible. Besides, the names are linked to comic book articles and there is cast section with both usages. No confusion here.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 22:30, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

Hey, I've just uploaded all the "good" photos I had from the convention. They are located at c:Category:Daredevil (TV series) and c:Category:Jessica Jones (TV series). I'd love to get your opinions on them, and feel free to mark any for deletion if you don't think they are good. Thanks. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:24, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

They look like they are all just shots of the video screen, so I don't think that they would pass de minimis but like I said, I'll leave that for others to decide.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 18:58, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
As I said on Adam's talk, that is what they are, as I wasn't close enough to get the non-video board shots. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:16, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
As far as I am concerned, and I don't know much about how this all works, the Daredevil photo with the five cast members might be useful on the character page, but that depends on how representative we all feel that the five of them are of the series' cast. - adamstom97 (talk) 22:07, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

Recent superhero templates

My congratulations to you for establishing the templates for Luke Cage and Iron Fist. I'm guessing you did this because of their upcoming appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Correct me if I am wrong with that. As for the Iron Fist template, I can't add K'un-L'un to it because it currently redirects to the Features of the Marvel Universe page due to the merge decision for it's Article for Deletion. --Rtkat3 (talk) 20:22, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, if I were you I would try to expanded information about K'un-L'un to help establish its notability.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:25, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
We'd have to have the page restored first before we can add any notability like Iron Fist's history there and it's part in the Avengers vs. X-Men storyline. We know where to get the information about it's Battleworld counterpart. I also noticed that you moved Shou-Lou to the related articles due to him being both ally and enemy. Isn't there a name for someone like that? --Rtkat3 (talk) 22:44, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Beth Ostrosky Stern, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Today Show and Model. Doctor Strange image

That's an awesome image!!! Great find! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 06:28, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, I thought so too. Its awesome that the author was willing to contribute.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 06:38, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Yeah. It is definitely one of the better, if not the best, ones we've featured on the MCU articles. Is there any chance to make it "featured" or something? Is that even possible for image? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 07:01, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
There is WP:FP, but while it is a great shot I don't think it will cut it. The left side is over exposed and the frame is askew.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 13:31, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Was that REALLY necessary? -- Grouches101 (Send a note then scram!! P.S. Have a rotten day!!!!) 14:50, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

Yes, please see WP:PLOTBLOAT. We do not need scene-by-scene breakdowns, especially inconsequential details like the source of the gunfire. Also we do not know the fate of Ultron's body, it is implied but not shown.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 15:07, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

Socks

In case they come back, I'm pretty sure that User:Terranova2325 and User:Refmac are socks of the user at this IP. 73.168.15.161 (talk) 14:31, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

It's cute you think that, but no. The content was removed because it was in clear violation of Wikipedia's style guidelines, which state that the Lead ought not to contain material not mentioned in the rest of the article:

"The notability of the article's subject is usually established in the first few sentences. The emphasis given to material in the lead should roughly reflect its importance to the topic, according to reliable, published sources. Apart from basic facts, significant information should not appear in the lead if it is not covered in the remainder of the article." Regardless of the fact that rankings by sexiness by a single comic reviewer hardly seem of great importance to any of the characters, this material wouldn't seem to qualify as a 'basic fact', since it is an entirely subjective opinion, and isn't mentioned in any of the main articles. So, I thought for a bit on how to include it in the main article, decided a section on how hot hellcat was didn't seem necessary or appropriate, and then removed the material from the lead as what seemed to me to be a clear violation of the style guidelines. So, unless you have a compelling reason why that list should appear in the lead, I'd ask that you reinstate my edits. -refmac

One, Wikipedia is not bureaucracy. There are no hard-and-fast rules. Secondly, this has been discussed ad nauseam at WT:COMICS and each time it has been decided to keep. The information speaks to the reception of the character's design and reception is an important part of the article and frequently included in the lead. Such lists are also included in many WP:BLP articles. I noticed that you did not remove any of the other rankings in the lead which suggests it was a WP:POV edit and you just don't like it. Lastly, the Comics Buyers Guide is no mere fringe reviewer but one of the oldest trade publications in the comic book industry.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 00:22, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

A new WP Essay

Since you created WP:POISON which speaks about the fruit of the poisonous tree, I was just wondering: would it be great if we had a WP policy/essay for the blind men and an elephant? I'm sure you know that story, and why it should be made into a WP policy/essay. Kailash29792 (talk) 08:27, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

Sure, why don't you start it? It would be an essay by the way since it just an opinion of one or a few editors, policies have been accepted the community as a whole.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 10:29, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
I mean, I've never created a policy/essay before here and you, having some knowledge in the same, could know how it should be. But I know that it should mention the Rashomon effect, i.e. each reliable source having its own version of events that contradict other sources, and that we Wikipedians must be aware of knowing who to trust. Or I think this essay should actually be called Wikipedia:Rashomon effect. I'm not sure which title is more appropriate. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:11, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
What I meant is that you clearly have an idea of what you want and where it should go, so why don't you start and I'll help if it needs anything. You may want to start in your sandbox.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 11:26, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
How's this? I know it can be improved. Kailash29792 (talk) 16:18, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
@Kailash29792: I am having trouble with the line "at least one of them is providing inaccurate information at the moment". It is entirely possible that both sources could be correct especially if the information is subjective. Could there be a better way to express this? Also remember WP:Verifiability, not truth, we are more concerned that information is verifiable not accurate.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 16:55, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

Category:2016 films

Greetings!

I understand that you seem to be confused of the use of categories. The categories reflect the content of the article. The Category Category:2016 films is used to include all films with release dates in 2016. Since these are all "scheduled" in 2016 and not yet to happen, by your logic, we should just remove them from every article. This goes against the consensus reached by WP:FILM. Japanese animated film discussion

Hello, there is currently a discussion going on about whether or not production companies should be listed in "production companies" field in the infobox of Japanese animated films. I personally am in favor of listing production companies in the infobox as the a field IS called "production companies". Logically a field called "production companies" should have production companies listed in it. However, someone else is in favor of omitting production companies and only listing the animation studio. Discussion is here. Thanks. -- Wrath X (talk) 04:36, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

@Lugnuts: Has Category:2016 3D films been removed? No, then it hasn't been resolved. Also Erik nor anyone responded to that point of the discussion so it's still open.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 10:03, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas!

I'm wishing you a Merry Christmas, because that is what I celebrate. If you don't like Christmas or just don't celebrate it in any of its forms, then please accept a generic "Happy Holidays". If you celebrate no holidays at this time of year, then hopefully you will be satisfied with an even more generic "Season's Greetings".  :) BOZ (talk) 18:58, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
