The file File:Yash Chopra Signature.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unused. Superseded by File:YashChopraSignature.svg.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 15:40, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

- Following a discussion on the bureaucrat's noticeboard, a change has been made to the bureaucrats inactivity policy.

Help
Hello Titodutta, Greetings. I am Samir Bishal, I am reaching out to you because I have created a draft on 28 May 2022 and submitted the draft (Draft:Radhakrishnan Pillai) through AFC process. But the draft is still under review and for that I am not able to create another page. As I don't know if my previous draft doesn't accept then I can edit another page or not. So I am confused, please let me know if I can create next page about any notable topic ? Also please check my created draft and review and guide me if possible because the draft is under review since last 2 month. Samir Bishal (talk) 21:47, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Samir Bishal the draft looks ok to me. Please expand the career section in a neutral tone, and put all the books name in italics like Chankya in You. If the award is Sardar Patel National Unity Award then it definitely helps towards establishing notability.
- It is around 4 am here, I can check in detail only in the afternoon/evening. I see the article was deleted earlier for "advertising", tagging @Athaenara, and @SamHolt6 for comments. Regards. Titodutta (talk) 22:17, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
@Titodutta: as I am quite new here on wikipedia and writing about author first time, so can you please improve only this draft so that I can learn from that draft and make anotherone ? Yes it is around 4am, so please take your time and guide me. Yes the article was deleted earlier and I didn't knew that. So I had created the article in the main space and it got deleted. Then I read about notability guidelines and again created the article on draft space then submitted the draft for review. Samir Bishal (talk) 22:27, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
- I was going to add more books of this author but I am not able to find news coverages of those books. There are only Googlebooks links available on Google. Samir Bishal (talk) 22:41, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hello Titodutta, did you check the draft ? Samir Bishal (talk) 16:32, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Samir Bishal, yes I checked the draft. The draft is ok, however there are more issues, hence I am reluctant to take an action right away. Let me see if @Athaenara has any advice. --Titodutta (talk) 19:58, 3 August 2022 (UTC)

- I don't know why you're promoting that author and his books, but I think you should stop. – Athaenara ✉ 23:21, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Athaenara: Hello I am not promoting the author. I read a book which is written by the author and I loved the book and it motivated me as well. And when I was searching his name on Google I saw plenty of news coverages from reliable sources. I thought of making it. So I am not promoting the author. @Titodutta: please share your opinion. Samir Bishal (talk) 06:26, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
Please guide me regarding image add
Hey Tito, I was going through some article and saw there was no image on those article. So thought of adding image. And started following existing image which are already added by other contributor. When I was going through, I saw contributors are adding image by taking Facebook and Instagram image. Can you please tell me whether Facebook and Instagram image are fall into CC BY-SA 4.0 ? If the answer is no then in which license category Facebook and Instagram image belongs. Also please tell me can I add image of author by taking from good reads ? If answer is yes then in which license category does those good reads image belongs. Thanks you Samir Bishal (talk) 16:37, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- Samir Bishal, no, generally, and mostly Facebook photos are not under CC-SA license. The images are copyrighted. If you want to explore more, you can check Facebook's or Instagram's "license" and "copyright" pages. These pages are generally linked at the bottom of a page on any site (generally named "Licenses", "Terms", "Copyright" etc.). This is a good place to know a site's content copyright.
Goodreads also — no, following the license check procedure mentioned above, the site mentions "© 2022 Goodreads, Inc." moreover most of the content are user-generated and bot-generated. and Goodreads do not own copyright of the book cover or author images. --Titodutta (talk) 20:05, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Tito I am unable to find CC License image. So from I can find CC License image and I can't find then which website image I can add with those existing article ? Can I take screenshot from YouTube video and use the screenshot ? Any other way ? Samir Bishal (talk) 22:07, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Tito one more thing, some contributer are using facebook and Instagram photo for wikipedia and they are uploading under CC BY-SA 4.0. So shall I tag those image as copyright ? Samir Bishal (talk) 22:11, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- Samir Bishal , You have two questions. Let's take one at a time.
- No, YouTube videos are mostly copyrighted as well, and hence scrneeshots are also copyrighted. I would suggest you to read Wikipedia:File copyright tags/Free licenses
- Let's understand this: Creative Commons are a set of licenses which come under the free licenses, and allows users to use, reuse, remix, adopt the work with or without attribution. There are several creative commons licenses from CC0 (which is similar to but not exactly public domain), CC-SA-4.0 (Wikipedia-preferred), CC-SA-ND (non-derivative) etc. Now you need to read about CC licenses from the help pages or from the Creative Commons website.
- Now, on the other hand, most of the websites on the web do not follow CC licenses, and mostly they are under "All rights reserved" or "Copyrighted". That means we can not use the content (including images, screenshots ) of that work (there is something called "Fair use", but let's skip that as we are discussing "free content" now).
- Facebook, YouTube, and many other sites are mostly under "All rights reserved" (Or please check the site's "License" details).
- Now, note, I am using the term "mostly"/"generally", and not "always". To clarify this, although YouTube videos are copyrighted (non-free), uploaders can release videos under CC license. So, a handful of videos are under the free licenses. Similarly on Flickr, the service allows users to upload content under the CC licenses.
- So, can you upload content/images/screenshots from Facebook/YouTube/Instagram on Wikipedia/Commons? The answer is mostly/generally no.
- But, should you mark all YouTube videos on Wikipedia for deletion? No. There is a possibility that those particular videos were under CC licenses.
- You may share a couple of YouTube links uploaded on Wikipedia here, if that helps. --Titodutta (talk) 22:28, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Tito one more thing, some contributer are using facebook and Instagram photo for wikipedia and they are uploading under CC BY-SA 4.0. So shall I tag those image as copyright ? Samir Bishal (talk) 22:11, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
@Tito thank for clearing. By the way you just told about fair use can you explain a little bit ? Samir Bishal (talk) 22:34, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Samir Bishal, in a very limited cases, if a free photo is not available, a non-free photo can be used under fair use. Here the usage needs to be "fair". If you see just the discussion above your discussions that was also on fair use. So what can be uploaded under fair use? Movie posters, book covers, logos, etc? Should we upload a non-free image right away? No, first we need to check for free images. Now working with fair use images needs some experience. Please read WP:NFCP and WP:NFCC carefully. A non-free image must be of low resolution (lower than 300*300px), and all the WP:NFCC criteria should fulfil. One common mistake: Living people's photos can not be uploaded under non-free content policy on Wikipedia. --Titodutta (talk) 22:55, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Tito, some contributors are using living people's image under CC BY-SA 4.0. by taking them from Facebook and Instagram. Shall I tag them as copyright image ? Samir Bishal (talk) 22:59, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- Samir Bishal Is this image under fair use, or creative commons license? I can not say without checking the image URL. --Titodutta (talk) 23:01, 3 August 2022 (UTC)

And saw that a lot of award recipient doesn't have image on article. So can I take image from govt website and use them on wikipedia ? Samir Bishal (talk) 22:01, 11 August 2022 (UTC)

Nomination of Amanusha for deletion
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Amanusha until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.
The film boasts a popular actor and if you can find sources, then it can be kept :) Thank you. DareshMohan (talk) 06:07, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

- @DareshMohan you have to check archives, not general Google News. In settings change the time to "archive". You may also search with related terms. Unfortunately I am unable to do these at this moment from mobile. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 06:20, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
- Ok, no problem. Surprisingly, when changing time to archives, results don't change much. DareshMohan (talk) 06:22, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
- @DareshMohan if sources can not be found it is good to go then. Let's see if we can get a few reputed film reviews either in English or Kannada. --Titodutta (talk) 06:24, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

Could not find the link of The Times of India review of Kamsale Kaisale. Did you get this from a print source/is the link dead? DareshMohan (talk) 05:49, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
- @DareshMohan this is a 6 years old edit, a bit difficult to remember. However almost definitely not offline source. ToI generally has lesser dead URL problems, check their website manually, and/or Waybvck Machine, if it helps. I can check too once I am logged in from laptop. Assessment
Hello Titodutta, I hope you're doing well. Can you do Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 assessment to Class B, or suggests improvement. Thanks, stay safe. C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 18:20, 21 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hello @C1K98V how are you? Possibly you can check with someone who works with reality show articles. (not only Indian reality shows, check notable international relaity show articles also). I don't find it class-B. The article currently looks a lot of tables and data, comparatively very less narration/prose (Prose size (text only): 1957 B (326 words) "readable prose size). The lead section is too short. Thanks. --Titodutta (talk) 18:25, 21 September 2022 (UTC)
- Not well, but recovering. Sure I will look international articles related to reality shows. Can you elaborate what you wrote in (). Thanks C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 02:07, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- @C1K98V recovering? I am also suffering from fever, and low back pain, so avoiding sitting in front of laptop. Anyway, I wrote: about lack of narration— what I meant I find these type of reality show articles overdepend on tables with contest details, evictions, nominations, tasks etc. That's alright, and the colourful tables often look pretty good (specially what we have in the Big Boss articles). However narration/prose are also very important. If you can find FA/GA articles of the same genre possibly you can see narration. The prose character count I gave was taken from prose count script's count. About Lead, an article lead should summarise an article properly (see WP:LEAD), and if it is start class and above articles, generally a good lead is of two or more paragraphs. The article lead in this article is too short. These were some initial observations. Possibly you can check with someone who has experience of working in Television show (specially reality show) articles. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 02:19, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- Ah possibly you were asking only about the part inside ( ), that is prose character, please see WP:PROSESIZE (there are a couple of user scripts which show prose size easily, one is DYKcheck user script, another possibly called Prosesize. I believe you will find the links from Google or Wikipedia scripts page, else please let me know, I'll find once I am from laptop). --Titodutta (talk) 02:24, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- you may also see WP:ARTICLESIZE that talks about "readable prose size". --Titodutta (talk) 02:26, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah recovering, first fever, then wisdom tooth, then again fever, so since August, till now, not a good time for me. I wish we all recover soon, because that's bother over loved ones the most. Hoping to enjoy the Puja Well. Happy Puja in advance to you and your family. I will follow your advice, and try to update the article. Thanks stay safe C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 02:27, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

Review
Hello Sir, Please review my Draft-👇 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Kohra_(estate) DrhSR (talk) 22:49, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- @DrhSR It won't be possible for me to check the draft at this moment. --Titodutta (talk) 03:08, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
Later, you will try? DrhSR (talk) 08:55, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- @DrhSR I won't be able to come online using laptop in a few few days. This is also a topic where I don't have expertise, and I need to do extensive studies which I can't do from mobile. So, no. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 09:10, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
Ok DrhSR (talk) 09:11, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
Hello Sir, Can you Review Kohra (estate) DrhSR (talk) 11:26, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
Please take an action
Hi, I had created an article named Sharly Modak and it was reviewed by a reviewer named @North8000:. And a contributer named Haueirlan, the contributed moved the page from main space to draft space. Now I have moved the page to main space. And I think the contributer is doing this just because I have selected a page for afd which is created by the editor because the subject is not meeting Wikipedia's guidelines. So please take an action because the editor is trying to humiliate me. Samir Bishal (talk) 20:45, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Samir Bishal this is quite late here, I am not online from laptop now. Do not get into an edit war. Did you try to discuss with the editor on the talk page? --Titodutta (talk) 20:54, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- No i just gave the editor a warning on his/her talk page that if he/she does that I'll report it to ANI. Samir Bishal (talk) 20:56, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- And I am not going to do edit war that is why I am writing to you so that you can see the history and guide the editor as you are an admin Samir Bishal (talk) 20:57, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Samir Bishal you should also ensure that the article meets notability. Please see WP:DRAFTOBJECT. --Titodutta (talk) 20:57, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- Yes I have checked and the subject is passing WP:GNG. Also Sharly Modak has done 3 TV serial as a lead actress. Also she has enough references from multiple news portal. And I am preety much confident that if the page gets selected for afd everyone will write keep because the subject is meeting WP:GNG and WP:NACTOR. You can check on Sharly Modak, also you can google her name. Samir Bishal (talk) 21:00, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Samir Bishal alright. Let's see how it goes. Refer to WP:DRAFTOBJECT if needed. --Titodutta (talk) 21:03, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll refer to WP:DRAFTOBJECT if needed. Samir Bishal (talk) 21:06, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- Comment - came here after getting a notification. My response to this is provided here on my talk page. Thank you. Haueirlan (talk) 05:37, 26 September 2022 (UTC)

FNNWiki (talk) 13:01, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki welcome. Any specific things you want to learn? Thanks. --Titodutta (talk) 13:11, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- I want to learn about everything. Please guide me. FNNWiki (talk) 13:18, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- Sure. Let's start tomorrow. --Titodutta (talk) 14:08, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta Ok, Sure :-) FNNWiki (talk) 18:03, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta Can we start ? FNNWiki (talk) 10:12, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki
- As a first step, please read WP:Five pillars. This is an important document, and it is good to know what are the five pillars. Please go through the page and let me know if you have any question. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 10:24, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta Ok, Done. FNNWiki (talk) 13:23, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki make sure you have understood these properly. If there is any question please let me know.
- The next reading may be WP:NOT, it tells what Wikipedia is not, and it is a pretty helpful document. Please take time and go through the article. It will be helpful to learn more about Wikipedia. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 13:28, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta That's interesting WP:NOT and Pretty clear, Done. FNNWiki (talk) 18:23, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta Can we go to the next ? FNNWiki (talk) 11:58, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki yes. Now you have read two important documents. Before we go to the next reading, let's do something different. If you are using desktop version, please go to "preferences" and explore different tabs. There are several tabs, specially the Gadgets tab has several options. Take a few days to explore "preferences", and possibly also "watchlist". --Titodutta (talk) 12:55, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta Are you talking about this ?[3] FNNWiki (talk) 17:18, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki I can not see the link from mobile. I am talking about Help: Preferences. --Titodutta (talk) 02:47, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta What is [4] and [5] ? FNNWiki (talk) 09:44, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki generally with every gadget entry there is a help article link also (in bracket). Please check those links. Navigation popup is a gadget by enabling it when you hover on a link it shows preview in the same page in a popup. Image annotation tool helps in image annotation.
- Note: Do not enable too many gadgets at a time, else one may lose track. If I can suggest go to gadgets tab at the end, did you check "appearance" page and try non-vector" skin? Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 14:47, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- It looks like you are using mobile, so you may skip exploring too many gadgets, and the preference options. --Titodutta (talk) 14:49, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta I'm confused could you please suggest me what should i enable and what not in that section ? FNNWiki (talk) 18:23, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki try a few such as hotcat, twinkle. I don't think all the gadgets work in mobile. Then we can move to the next topic, and possibly a little question–answer. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 03:07, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta I've enable these two Hotcat and Twinkle as you said. Done. FNNWiki (talk) 17:12, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta Can we go to the next ? FNNWiki (talk) 10:06, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki Yes.
- Before we go to the next topic, let me ask a few questions. Earlier you told that you want to learn everything about Wikipedia. So we started with a few general topics. However that is way to vast, we need to be specific.
- I see that you are not editing Wikipedia articles. That could help me to understand your editing pattern.
- There is tutorials for editing, and one can learn to be a better Wikipedia reader.
- How do you want to go ahead? --Titodutta (talk) 10:21, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta Can you suggest how to start editing and can you give me practical example how to edit ? FNNWiki (talk) 11:08, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki alright we can talk about how to start editing. You need to find articles where you can contributing. It might be fixing something, adding some information or expanding etc. Please note, encyclopedic content must be verifiable and information should be supported by reliable references. Let's read a few articles before we start editing.
- WP:Verifiability and WP:IRS — please go through these two pages. --Titodutta (talk) 12:23, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta Done, it's quite interesting. FNNWiki (talk) 14:19, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki,
- Excellent, well done. Now could you please explain in your words: what is the importance of reliable sources on Wikipedia? Please share your thoughts in details, before we go to the next step. BTW, if you have specific Wikipedia-related question, I'll be very happy to try to answer it. As of now, I'll be glad to know your thoughts on the importance of reliable sources, from your reading. --Titodutta (talk) 14:24, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta As of reading I understand that reliable source must be independent source such as (newspaper, magazine, books) also the source cited as PDF version.
And also self publised article or blogs is not acceptable. Without citing reliable sources or unreferenced article should be remove. FNNWiki (talk) 14:44, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki, that is correct. Now, would you like to start editing? You can find any article (biography, place, subject, theme, or anything that interests you) and see how you can improve it. You can pick any article that interests you (however please don't select popular articles like India, Jesus, Mumbai, Cricket. Those articles are already very-developed, and one needs to work a lot to improve such articles further.) Please let me know if I should suggest a couple articles where you can try editing. --Titodutta (talk) 15:13, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta Can you give some practical example of editing and also suggest some articles to edit ? FNNWiki (talk) 18:01, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki what do you mean by "practical example"? Thanks. --Titodutta (talk) 03:36, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta I mean contributions or diff that's trying to say. FNNWiki (talk) 03:51, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki you can check my contribution, or go to any article history and check the diffs to see content added/removed/modified.
- This help article should help you to learn more about editing Help:Editing. --Titodutta (talk) 08:33, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta Done, it's also interesting. FNNWiki (talk) 11:25, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta Hi, When I click on the Twinkle option I can see these (Warn,Wel,TB,CSD,XFD,RPP,Last) seven options I want to know what's this can you explain me one by one ? FNNWiki (talk) 20:11, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki hello, I am just starting a busy Monday morning, will get back later today or early tomorrow, regards. --Titodutta (talk) 05:18, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titodutta Ok, No problem. FNNWiki (talk) 06:03, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki, Twinkle is a gadget that helps in Wikipedia maintenance tasks. This is a quite useful tool, I do not have experience of using it in the mobile interface though. You may try it, however use carefully. The Twinle comes with multiple options.
- Warn: When you want to warn an editor (registered or anonymous) for non-constructive or disruptive editing, you may write a message yourself or you may use of the templates (you may need to find). Here Twinkle helps to warn non-constructive edits quickly from a dropdown.
- Wel: It means welcome. You use this option to welcome new users (generally, but not mandatorilly where talk pages are red links.
- CSD: Criteria for Speedy Deletion, you may read WP:CSD. If you want to nominate an article (or a page) for speedy deletion, this Twinkle option makes things easier. However, please read CSD criterias properly before nominating.
- PROD: PROD is proposed deletion, please read WP:PROD.
- Last opens immediate last edit diff of a page.
- There is a help page Wikipedia:Twinkle and a documentation page Wikipedia:Twinkle/doc. Please follow these pages to learn more. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 07:54, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Titidutta Hey, I've contributed with Twinkle, can you check my contributions. FNNWiki (talk) 14:48, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) @FNNWiki the usage of the tool is alright. I have not checked in details if the edits were really unconstructive. The usage of the tool is ok. Please note two things: a) if you message/warn a user, please watchlist their talk page, there is a possibility that they will respond to your messages. b) (you have not used so far) please avoid the word vandal/vandalism unless it is a clear case of vandalism. --Titodutta (talk) 14:54, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki the tag got missed. BTW, you don't need to tag me on my talk page. As it is my talk page anywhich way I get notification. --Titodutta (talk) 14:55, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
- How to modify signature like adding colors and etc. FNNWiki (talk) 13:29, 21 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki that you can do it in "Preferences">>General/First tab. There is a field of "custom signature". You might remember we explored the preferences page sometime ago. To know more and what can/can't be added in a signature, please see WP:SIG. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 14:02, 21 September 2022 (UTC)

Yeah, I want to modify fonts and want to add pink and blue color. FNNWiki (talk) 11:30, 23 September 2022 (UTC)

- @FNNWiki it is good to see you are using Twinkle and actively editing. Need any help? --Titodutta (talk) 19:25, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
Yeah, after exploring Wikipedia I want to know what is NPP School ? And I want to learn about NPP. FNN💎Wiki 05:57, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
- @FNNWiki on Wikipedia there are different areas and activities. One of the main activities is creating new articles. Now, new articles often need patrolling/review for improvement and cleanups. This activity is called "New Page Patrolling". That short form is NPP, as you understand. A new page patroller needs good understanding of policies like notability, verifiability, copyright etc, also they need to know manual of style, categorisation etc. We have discussed some of these already in this discussion. So, you understand there are several things here, so the "process" or "school" that trains about these things is New Page Patrol School. you may learn more here WP:NPPS. --Titodutta (talk) 06:07, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – October 2022
News and updates for administrators from the past month (September 2022).
- Following an RfC, consensus was found that if the rationale for a block depends on information that is not available to all administrators, that information should be sent to the Arbitration Committee, a checkuser or an oversighter for action (as applicable, per ArbCom's recent updated guidance) instead of the administrator making the block.
- Following an RfC, consensus has been found that, in the context of politics and science, the reliability of FoxNews.com is unclear and that additional considerations apply to its use.
- Community comment on the revised Universal Code of Conduct enforcement guidelines is requested until 8 October.
- The Articles for creation helper script now automatically recognises administrator accounts which means your name does not need to be listed at WP:AFCP to help out. If you wish to help out at AFC, enable AFCH by navigating to Preferences → Gadgets and checking the "Yet Another AfC Helper Script" box.

Vishnupriya Devi
Hey, there, I see that you have created an article called Vishnupriya to cover Vishnupriya Devi, a wife of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Vishnupriya is primarily an epithet of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi. I was wondering if you would be amenable to renaming the article, "Vishnupriya Devi", so that a disambiguation page, or a distinct article, could be created for the epithet of Lakshmi. Thanks for your consideration! Chronikhiles (talk) 05:08, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Chronikhiles, a hatnote can be used that for Lakshmi, please see "...". --Titodutta (talk) 08:01, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
Adoption
Hi. I have been on Wikipedia for 15 days and made a little over 150 edits. I have been looking for some one to adopt me but i haven't gotten any replies. You are more or less my last hope and would like to know if you are interested. Wikiwow:) (talk) 08:57, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikiwow1102 I can try to answer your questions, if I have the answer. Thanks. --Titodutta (talk) 16:31, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
Well... For my first question is how can i make a well constructed edit without violating any policies and when can i be sure that my edit was right to be reverted Wikiwow:) Wikiwow:) (talk) 17:57, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikiwow1102 there are three steps: 1) you need to start slow by making edits where you are sure. This might be simple copyedit, fix, formatting correction, adding brief information with reliable references 2) simultaneously keep on reading Wikipedia policies, guidelines, manual of style etc pages, 3) keep pages in watchlist, and check what edits other editors are making. All these three can go simultaneously. To start with a few helpful Wikipedia policies and guidelines I suggest WP:5, WP:V, WP: CORE, WP:N. There are many policies, and guidelines, it is hardly possible to read and understand all in a day or a week. So, possibly the best way is to learn on the go. --Titodutta (talk) 18:05, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
And what about creating templates and improving stubs and as articles which are written as an advertisement how can i improve them. How do I know if I am ready for my first article. And what are some useful tools Wikiwow:) Wikiwow:) (talk) 18:10, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikiwow1102 there are four questions here.
- creating templates: this needs slightly more Wiki-experience, and understanding of Wiki-code. Basic templates are not that difficult to create such as navigation box or basic templates. There are also more advanced templates which use modules and advanced coding. You may see Wikipedia: Templates and its subpages.
- stub improvement: that's a fantastic idea. You can improve stubs by adding more content, with citation, or by improving existing content (accuracy, prose, grammar, formatting etc check).
- Ready for first article: that's a great question. Well, there is no clear point where one can say that they are ready to create their first article. However in my opinion in my opinion it is important to understand Wikipedia: Notability, Wikipedia: Copyright, Wikipedia:RS before creating article. You may also submit your first drafts for review at WP:AFC.
- Tools: There are a bunch of tools and scripts. Like policies, guidelines and help pages it is also hard to learn in a day or in a week. You are a mobile editor, is it? If so, there are not many tools available, as far as I know. You may enable WP:Hotcat, and WP:Twinkle in preferences>>Gadgets to start with. --Titodutta (talk) 18:23, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
Okay thanks. First off I will read the guidelines and read about Twinkle and Hotcat, then i will try those tools on some edits. And how can i join wikiprojects and are certain skills needed in order to join wikiprojects and how many can i join. Wikiwow:) Wikiwow:) (talk) 18:29, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikiwow1102 generally a WikiProject description (or Main) page mentions if they have any eligibility criteria. On English Wikipedia most of the WikiProjects I know do not have any strict joining criteria. A Wikipedia:WikiProject is an area where editors assemble and discuss how to improve content related to specific areas. There are many WikiProjects such as WikiProject books, film, history, rivers, and many more. You can see [[Wikipedia::WikiProject]]. WikiProjects are tagged on article talk pages, so you may find WikiProjects links on article talk pages also. Now, you can go to any specific WikiProject and see their "Participants" or "Joining" sections. --Titodutta (talk) 18:36, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
Hi. How do I write good edit summaries? Wikiwow:) Wikiwow:) (talk) 17:08, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikiwow1102 edit summary very briefly states what changes you made in an edit. It must not be a complete sentence, but the idea should be conveyed. For example you will often seen edit summary like "copyedit", "added reference", "added image", "fixed typo". A good edit summary should be a) brief (generally not more than a few words, but sometimes it needs more than a few words), b) the edit type should be clearly conveyed. There is a help article WP:Edit summary, please visit the page to learn more. --Titodutta (talk) 21:06, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
Hi. I just started a draft called "Understanding Your Body" and I am yet to add citations but would like your advice on how to continue to improve the draft and what else I can add. Wikiwow:) Wikiwow:) (talk) 10:19, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikiwow1102 this seems to be a non-fiction book article. A book article generally has several section: lead, plot/synopsis, reception etc. Please see helpful suggestions at WP:Books, and you have to show how it passes WP:NBOOKS. You may see similar Books articles on Wikipedia to have an idea how different sections are written. --Titodutta (talk) 16:38, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
Hi. I have a question when it comes to vandalism. How am I able to tell if the edits done by someone is good faith edits and they didn't mean it or it is just intentional vandalism. Wikiwow:) Wikiwow:) (talk) 17:09, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikiwow1102 we generally avoid the word vandalism unless it is clearly a destructive edit. This is an edit that clearly intends to destroy an article or page. It might be random blanking an article without any edit summary, rationale or logic, it might be adding meaningless gibberish in an article. On the other hand a good faith edit is something where an editor tried to make improvements in an article but there were unintentional error (formatting or otherwise). There is a possibility that they will learn and won't repeat the mistake. Please read WP:AGF and WP: Vandalism to understand more about their nature with examples. --Titodutta (talk) 17:15, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
Ok. What about dealing with edit wars? Wikiwow:) (talk) 17:20, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikiwow1102 are you reading the links in the answers I am giving? Those are the main help articles and you need to go through slowly to learn more. --Titodutta (talk) 17:23, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikiwow1102 the link to WikiProject Books should have been WP:WikiProject Books, and the "Article structure" section on the project main page is quite informative. --Titodutta (talk) 19:24, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
Hi. I am back and I have finished reading. Can we move on to the next lesson Wikiwow*_* (talk) 13:53, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikiwow1102 hello, yes, what do you want to know, let me know if you have any specific question, else we can take a random Wiki-topic. --Titodutta (talk) 13:54, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
Well,I woukd like to what's the difference between an article and a page? Aren't they the same thing? Wikiwow*_* (talk) 13:58, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikiwow1102 good question. An article is a page on the mainspace. Is it unclear? Ok, let me explain further... an article is that is a main essay, that we read. In a URL it always starts right after /wiki/ such as en
.wikipedia .org /wiki /India. This is an article, or a page in the mainspace (it is also called NS0, we will come to it).
Now, on an encyclopedia such as Wikipedia, there are many other type of pages other than the main essays. For example, there might be an article talk page where one can discuss the article, such pages starts with Talk:Something. There might be a file page starting File:Something.ext, or there might a project page such as Wikipedia:Welcome). This talk page is also a type of page.
So, an article is a mainspace essay, but a page can be anything or any page, it may be an article, a talk page, a project page, a file page etc.).
Finally you may read Wikipedia:Namespace to know about different namespaces. This will clarify things further. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 14:10, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
And one more question, How can I upload images onto Wikipedia? Wikiwow*_* (talk) 14:14, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikiwow1102 one can upload images on Wikipedia, OR one can upload images on Wikimedia Commons (sister project). If it is a free image, it is recommended to upload the image on Wikimedia Commons, where any language Wikipedia or other Wikimedia projects can use it also. On Wikipedia we can upload non-free images/media, free images (not recommended, but one can still do so), etc. I suggest you to read Wikipedia:Uploading images and Wikipedia:How to upload a photo. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 14:18, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
Hi. I am back. I would like for you to take a look at my Draft:Dark Hollow and maybe let me know if it is ready for the mainspace and if not any advice you can add? Wikiwow*_* (talk) 08:06, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikiwow1102 this looks OK to me. This is well-written and well-expanded. It is good to see a detailed draft. Unfortunately, I am not much aware about Ireland/Irish novels. --Titodutta (talk) 13:44, 12 October 2022 (UTC)

Hi, need your help creating an article for Savings Account (2022). Sources here: here and here. DareshMohan (talk) 06:54, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- @DareshMohan hello, how can I help? --Titodutta (talk) 09:20, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, you can help gather sources in Bengali and English? DareshMohan (talk) 09:21, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- @DareshMohan Yes, I can do both. The film actually hardly passes notability, and is a box office failure. You will get a few reviews though that takes the movie to notability borderline. On the other hand there is quite a backlog at List of Indian Bengali films of 2022, with several films with better coverage, and more importance need either article creation or expansion. --Titodutta (talk) 10:31, 27 November 2022 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – December 2022
News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2022).
- Consensus has been found in an RfC to automatically place RfAs on hold after one week.
- The article creation at scale RfC has been closed.
- An RfC on the banners for the December 2022 fundraising campaign has been closed.
- A new preference named "Enable limited width mode" has been added to the Vector 2022 skin. The preference is also shown as a toggle on every page if your monitor is 1600 pixels or wider. When disabled it removes the whitespace added by Vector 2022 on the left and right of the page content. Disabling this preference has the same effect as enabling the wide-vector-2022 gadget. (T319449)
- Eligible users are invited to vote on candidates for the Arbitration Committee until 23:59 December 12, 2022 (UTC). Candidate statements can be seen here.
- The proposed decision for the 2021-22 review of the discretionary sanctions system is open.
- The arbitration case Reversal and reinstatement of Athaenara's block has been closed.
- The arbitration case Stephen has been opened and the proposed decision is expected 1 December 2022.
- A motion has modified the procedures for contacting an admin facing Level 2 desysop.
- Tech tip: A single IPv6 connection usually has access to a "subnet" of 18 quintillion IPs. Add

I am expanding this artcile. Will you please join me and fix some information from the Census of India webiste as all my efforts to use Website references have been rejected while posting? This place is near Nanjangud. You may also like to add more text on its history and recent temple refurbishing. Thanks.Nvvchar. 09:45, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Nvvchar what is the URL and what error message you received? --Titodutta (talk) 12:35, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- For example this reference (not allowing me to use the refrence on this page also) used here also came up with the message "census data is blocked with the remark has "triggered a protection filter: census2011.co.in Blacklisting indicates past problems with the link, so any requests should clearly demonstrate how inclusion would benefit Wikipedia. The following link has triggered a protection filter: census2011.co.in. Either that exact link, or a portion of it (typically the root domain name) is currently blocked." As such I have not been able find any other acceptable site to incorporate this data in the article. same thing has happened in another artcile I am working non Bichali What are the web urls you and your friends have been using in creating artecles of villages and towns in India, Book refrences does not give such info. By the way wehere are you now in Bengaluru or some other city. My mobile is 9811559727. Nvvchar. 13:18, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Nvvchar that's I guessed. The site is blacklisted. If you get such message you can not use that as reference on Wikipedia. --Titodutta (talk) 11:22, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
- I have requested you to suggest an acceptable URl on Census data. Nvvchar. 11:41, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hello User:Nvvchar, thanks for your message, and sorry for delay in response. The government websites such as censusindia
.gov .in or censusindia .net and their content (web pages/PDFs etc.) are more reliable, I believe. India Gov portal has a section also at www .india .gov .in /my-government /documents /census-report. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 07:30, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. However, I have posted the artcile in DYP without the census information. Nvvchar. 07:40, 30 January 2023 (UTC)

Moving of Draft into mainspace
Hi, I made a draft about Draft:Anupam Mittal. He is Indian entrepreneur and also the receipent of a National award named Karmaveer Chakra Award and he has also been awarded as the most innovative company in India by Fast Company, a US Buisness Publication. Can you please check the draft and help me by moving it into the mainspace? Batamore (talk) 10:14, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, the article has been deleted twice at AFD, the recent one at: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anupam Mittal (2nd nomination). The draft (and the award section) look(s) good to me. I am requesting User:Star Mississippi to kindly share thoughts/comments. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 07:35, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the ping @Titodutta and nice to met you both. Given its history, I would suggest AfC. However if you're confident it meets Biographic notability @Batamore you're welcome to move it to mainspace directly. I'm currently traveling and unfortunately don't have time to personally review it right now. Happy to help if I can otherwise. Star Mississippi 14:25, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, User:Batamore, could you please add these:
- Karmaveer award: A reliable newspaper source or Government website/award website source for the Karmaveer award?
- "50 Most Powerful People in India by a business weekly": Similarly, can you add a newspaper or better source other than the current OTTPlay source? If possible, please also add which "Business weekly" gave the honour? Thanks. --Titodutta (talk) 10:55, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi User:Titodutta, you have asked me two questions.
- First of all the government website of KarmaVeer Chakra Award is not opening. There is no other sources than PinkVilla and OTT Play which is telling about this award. Can you please help me to find a better source?
- As you asked me to specify the particular buisness weekly which gave the honour to him , so I am doing the wikilink, the buisness weekly is BusinessWeek India.
- Lastly i have found some more in-depth news coverages from reliable sources like Washington Post, Forbes India, Financial Express,Business Standard
- Hi User:Titodutta, you have asked me two questions.

- @Batamore thanks, please add the references in the draft alongwith relevant given information. Yes, the government website could be a much better reference for the award. Once you do these I'll make some edits, and will also check Internet Archive(s) to see if they have a copy of the website page. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 02:25, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, I have added the articles.er:B

- Hello @Batamore, this took me quite some time on this to study things. Following the detailed discussion above, the article is moved to mainspace. I'll be doing some post-move cleanups. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 04:22, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
- I have brought this to AfD for discussion as I think while you've done a remarkable job, the underlying notability issues remain. The community may disagree, so we'll see how this shakes out. Star Mississippi 04:28, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Star Mississippi, thanks for your message. I'll follow the discussion. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 04:31, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
