Your DYK nomination of Shooting of David McAtee
[edit]Hi I made a review at Template:Did you know nominations/Shooting of David McAtee and there are some minor queries. Mujinga (talk) 17:57, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
Hi, this image was nominated for deletion by the uploader on February 20 because he found out it is not free. New users keep putting it back in the article John R. Countryman when they shouldn't. Could you get it deleted? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 14:23, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
- It looks like it's already been deleted. It looks like there's something funky going on - see the block rationale here. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 16:02, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

[edit]ı was actually trying to be constructive. why dont you change the name of the article it doesnt make sense this way — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.119.40.153 (talk) 17:13, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
- UFO: Enemy Unknown is the correct name of the article, per the second point at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (video games). That the series name later became confusing does not affect what an article should be called or how it should be referred to in other articles. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 17:17, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

DYK for Kawade Shibatarō
[edit]Hi, I see you've put this DYK hook in a preparation area without the image, but the reviewer and I agreed that it should run with this image and "(example pictured)" on the end of the hook. The nomination shows the image and caption. The image is (cropped from) one that has been shared by a GLAM partner. Please could the hook be presented with its image, or was there some specific reason to exclude the image in this case? Thanks in advance for any help, MartinPoulter (talk) 13:47, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hi @MartinPoulter: I always try to include your images, both because they're generally excellent and because I want to support GLAM. In this case, however, the concept you were illustrating did not show up well at the display size that DYK images are run at. The 3D effect is actually easier to see in this other work, but the caption for that image didn't mention it, so I was afraid to swap out images. I'm happy to pull the hook from prep if you've got another image we can use. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 15:29, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
- I'm very appreciative of your help! In this case I'm disappointed but I see your reasoning. If the proposed vase is unacceptable, I don't have an alternative photograph. Cheers, MartinPoulter (talk) 13:08, 4 August 2020 (UTC)

Pomona Organic Farm
[edit]Hi Squirrel Conspiracy! Thanks for promoting Pomona College Organic Farm to prep area 7. I noticed that you chose ALT1, which I found a little surprising since Ahsoka Dillard and I workshopped ALT0 and I personally think that's a more interesting fact. Did you have a reason for choosing ALT1 or was that an oversight? Also, I noticed that the photo was left out. I like to think it's a rather compelling visual, and Ahsoka remarked to that effect during the review—would it be possible to shift some things around so that it could be included? - {{u|Sdkb}} talk 18:33, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

Game players GAN
[edit]Hey, I noticed you have a bunch of nominations pending on WP:GAN, but they all have similar systemic issues to Gavin Dempsey. I would strongly recommend withdrawing them and working on improving the sourcing. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 21:05, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Please don't accuse me without any reason. I was asked by a user to help them clean up the article. I took off the tag because they have already disclosed their COI on the userpage. I've also removed all unsourced and promotional material and made other changes to address advertising concerns. I think the article appears neutral now and the tag is no longer needed.--Faizal batliwala (talk) 15:02, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
Hi The Squirrel Conspiracy, I have removed the tag as the article no longer seems promotional. I've also removed all unsourced material and peacock terms. If you think it still has issues, please feel free to copy edit or discuss on article's talk page.--Faizal batliwala (talk) 07:36, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

[edit]New Page Patrol December Newsletter
[edit]Hello The Squirrel Conspiracy,
- Year in review
It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.

9 | Hughesdarren (talk) | 4,520 | Patrol Page Curation |
10 | Utopes (talk) | 3,958 | Patrol Page Curation |
- Reviewer of the Year
John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.
- NPP Technical Achievement Award
As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.
