Language icons

[edit]

Hi, Rigg! I don't know why online sources cannot use the proper ISO language codes in their URLs, because it certainly can confuse those of us who have to use them at the DI page ("lu" for Luxembourgian here, "ee" for Estonian here). I used to scan the language templates to guess the proper ones, but if you just wiki-search the DI entry's nationality, you can usually find the icon (example: Estonian language is "et" in the infobox), if the source is from there. Hope this helps! — Wyliepedia @ 09:57, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Helen Hughes (actress)

[edit]

Thanks for creating Helen Hughes (actress).

A New Page Patroller Rosguill just tagged the page as having some issues to fix, and wrote this note for you:

The article needs more citations to significant coverage in independent sources to establish its subject's notability.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can reply over here and ping me. Or, for broader editing help, you can talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

You must have seen my reason for using an alternative source for the above in Deaths in 2019. If not, it's because Omaha.com have implemented a European Community access block, and therefore it's an unverifiable link for the millions living in that part of the world. Thanks. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Lynn Taylor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Joe Powell (stuntman) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://westernboothill.blogspot.com/2016/07. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Speedy deletion nomination of Anne Cunningham

[edit]

Hello Rigg,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Anne Cunningham for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

John Bown moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, John Bown, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Onel5969 TT me 15:19, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:John Bown, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:36, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:John Bown

[edit]

Hello, Rigg. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "John Bown".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! JMHamo (talk) 11:26, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article The Ghosts of the Green Room has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Nothing found in a WP:BEFORE to help this film pass the WP:NFILM guidelines.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of The Ghosts of the Green Room for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article The Ghosts of the Green Room is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Ghosts of the Green Room until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.

The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jean-Paul Jeannotte. Hello, Rigg,

Thank you for creating Jean-Pierre Gredy.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

What is needed are references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the topic is not suitable for inclusion. Kindly do the needful. Thank you.

Hello, Rigg,

Thank you for creating Wang Bei.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article needs more references in order to provide significant coverage for this article. See WP:SIGCOV

Giving of lists of television shows and films this person has appeared in do not pass as reliable sources for WP:NACTOR. What needs to be shown is that this person has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions. WP:BASIC tells that People are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject.

To meet notability requirements, one more reference with significant coverage will suffice. Thank you.

Notice

The article Yves Trudel has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

None of his roles in notable films appears to be significant, and there isn't enough in-depth coverage to show he meets GNG.

Henrie Adams

[edit]

Thank you for having created Henrie Adams. He could appear on the Main page among the Recent deaths if everything was referenced. When I looked closer at the 5 refs, the age of 8 when beginning oboe has no reference, same for teachers and specific orchestras he guest-conducted. If you have sources for those, then please add, and I will nominate. I can't search, so it's up to you. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:41, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Jacky Jakoba moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Jacky Jakoba, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 11:28, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Rigg:, SNBC is not a news source. It's a bot site i.e. it autogenerates news stories by scraping social media profiles on Facebook or Twitter. As such, it is a violation of WP:RS. A tag has been placed on The Ghosts of the Green Room requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Jany Gastaldi

[edit]

Hi there, Rigg, and thank you for creating Jany Gastaldi. It looks as if you have based your article on the Simple English article of the same name. In such cases, it is important to avoid copyright problems by attributing the article in an edit summary. You can find further guidance in WP:RIA. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 16:18, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have been looking at a few of your more recent creations and see that they also originated in Simple English a few hours before you created them on the EN wiki. They also need to be attributed in the same way, along with any others you may have found on Simple English. I see that in some cases you added improvements to the Simple English articles but that does not relieve you from attribution. Please let me know if you need additional assistance with this.--Ipigott (talk) 16:35, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Michael Beint

[edit]

Hello Rigg, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Michael Beint, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Michael Beint.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Frost}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

(Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)
