Talk Page
I wonder if you could clean up my talk page by adding some links and pictures and templates like the three I currently have. For extra templates here is some help. I love football.I support ipswich town fc.I have heard you are a page renovator.Cheers,Gobbleswoggler (talk) 17:09, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
- The golden rule of page renovation is that there has to be something to edit; your talk page is pretty bare (as is your userpage for the matter). Hmm I'm charmed I get requests now. Yeah I do that kind of stuff every once in a while. Why don't look in sandbox, it has a nice theme I've been storing for a while now. ResMar 17:13, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

OK, you asked for it. :-) I have some issues with both articles. Can post comments later today, maybe have some time to fix them later. Coincidentally, I just did an article on the largest landowner on the western slope, Henry Nicholas Greenwell (and now his great-grandchildren). Of course the owner of the other slopes now is probably USA. Might mention them too. Thanks for your work. W Nowicki (talk) 19:13, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- Oooooh, I'm getting the thoughtful-and-deep-commentry shudder. Cometh the storm. ResMar 19:14, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
I did a round of work on it. Hope not too much damage. Just a remaining question on Google maps vs. {{coord}} As for Greenwell, coffee was just one facet of the business, so I shuffled the projects a bit. W Nowicki (talk) 02:44, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
Diacritics: since even the article title of Hualālai has a diacritic, it would be inconsistent to not use them in the article, so I would say please keep them in. The exception as I try to say in the MOS is the word "Hawaii" itself, as the name of the state, or when used with an English word ending like "Hawaiian". The island is only a part of the state (albeit a slight majority of the land area) and easily confused. Generally you say "in Hawaii" when meaning the state but "on Hawaiʻi" to refer to the island. The GNIS uses this convention: island has diacritic, state does not. It should be doing that now, it was close.
Now I noticed in your list article you call it "Big Island" which is what the residents of the state call it. I do not think that is encyclopedic, e.g. calling New York the "Big Apple", but does eliminate the problem. W Nowicki (talk) 15:48, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
Nominated Oceanography Society for DYK
Hi. I've nominated Oceanography Society, an article you worked on, for consideration to appear on the Main Page as part of Wikipedia:Did you know. You can see the hook for the article here, where you can improve it if you see fit. —MC10 (T•C•GB•L) 17:14, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Seamount DYK's
I approved them. Ha I don't know if it's definitely a violation, and I apologize if I'm mistaken, but they originally seemed way too similar, and after looking at your profile, I was like "all this from such a prolific oceanographic contributor?" I really want the article to be the best it can be, so it may be a while before we start Kilauea. ceranthor 23:19, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
While I wait...
I've just created 1949 Ambato earthquake, and I'll be working on it while I wait for your input. I'll be off later today, but you are free to email me with any other ideas you have. Right now I think Villarrica, Salado, Galeras, Cotopaxi, and Chaiten look interesting. Cerro Azul was an interesting project, as it had the two largest eruptions known in South America, but was a stub. (large as in output) So I feel the others will yield just as many odd but intriguing facts. ceranthor 19:37, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

People
If you have not noticed, I created two articles on people relevant to Hawaii volcanoes: William Lowthian Green (wrote some books in late 19th century) and Charles Henry Hitchcock wrote a 1911 book. You might want to link them up to articles on topics that they studied or published about. Also I added the template to Green's article, but not sure the category applies, since he is not a volcano himself! W Nowicki (talk) 21:57, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm, I think that he would most appropriately be linked to James Dwight Dana, C. E. Dutton, Thomas Jaggar, and other Hawaii-related geologists. ResMar 22:03, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Not sure what you mean. I was talking about both in the bodies of the articles on each topic, but certainly if one influences another they should be linked. Certainly Green and Dana seemed to interact much. Other issues are categories, e.g. do we need a "Hawaii volcanologist" category, or use an existing one? And templates: How about adding another line to the existing template listing people, or spinning off another one? Not sure where to draw the line, e.g. Titus Coan and Rufus Anderson Lyman were amateurs, but notable observers.
As for Mauna Kea, thanks it really needs work. There are some obvious errors right now: e.g. the saddle road goes across the saddle not up the mountain. Much missing from human history, Parker Ranch, the army base, David Douglas etc. W Nowicki (talk) 16:32, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

I will go ahead and nominate the image of San Fransisco, but I wanted to know if you would like the credit for the find. It will effect how I format the image for an FPC run. TomStar81 (Talk) 23:31, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- I would, thanks. I found the image whilst writing Seamount. It's a tad bit undersized but I think that it fits "iconic representation" well. Where else do you find a submarine with its front torn half open? :) ResMar 23:34, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- Actually its a perfect size; according to Wikipedia:Featured picture criteria the image needs to be a minimum 1,000px in hieght or width, not both. Your picture is therefore eligible. I'm going to start with the paperwork to get the image up; I'll leave a message here when I am done. TomStar81 (Talk) 23:59, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- Not sure about that second image. You may wish to consulte Durova, she is a real wiz with photos and would be in a position to evaluate and fix artifacts if you were to ask nicely. TomStar81 (Talk) 00:01, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I've made a change or two to the write-up of it, without changing the meaning, just to demonstrate that edit count can be relevant (as in, when an editor only has edits in the hundreds - of course, in the early days, some administrators had such an amount, but it's difficult to justify it now). As an aside, I've been an administrator since 2005, and my edit count is still in the four figures; I'd probably get opposed for that today! Esteffect (talk) 01:26, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

Not sure what "never responded to my note on Hawaiian geologists on my talk page" means? Your edit notice implies you want to keep discussions on one talk page. Anyway, I still would like you hear your ideas about navigating the volcanologists. I would suggest adding a new group to the existing template for starters with the union of the ones listed above (can always add more or spin off a new one later). I should be able to work on it this afternoon after getting a couple more DYKs in the queue before the timers expire. W Nowicki (talk) 18:02, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Hale Pohaku
Aloha, Resident Mario. I was going to contact you earlier, but had to take time off to attend to real life. I just wanted to tell you that I did a pretty major rewrite on the Onizuka Center article you started earlier today, both to amplify and add information, but also to correct a couple of mistakes you seem to be making. I think the article is clear now that HP is 5000 feet below and almost half an hour of horrendous driving away from the telescopes themselves, and that it is only the visitor centre that's open to tourists. Hope you don't mind my fixing that quickly - after all thousands of people . . . OK, someone, might have got the wrong idea. Anyway, I saw on W Nowicki's talk page that you are working on the Mauna Kea article itself, so it's nice to have another set of fingers on the job. I intend to try to lend a hand too. Best, Awien (talk) 22:19, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Signpost: Pending changes trial
Hi, would you mind changing the wording of one phrase in the Signpost article.
You/your co-author described the second option in the poll as "slowly reintroduced into the mainspace". The actual wording is a gradual, limited expansion up to a max of 10k articles. The difference is the hard-cap on expansion. The point is that it's not a gradual rollout to the entire mainspace, but is capped at 10k articles. Would you update it? Thanks, Ocaasi (talk) 09:45, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
- Edited poll options to reflect language of the poll. Tried to notify article writer. Important to portray the options so readers don't have a misconception before they get to the poll.) I do need to sleep, you know =) ResMar 13:19, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, my note was to let readers know I hadn't kept you in the dark about it, not to chastise. Then again, why aren't you working on the next signpost right now? Ocaasi (talk) 15:47, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
- HeaB is informally charged with putting togethor important stories for the issue (ae. this diff). Most of the work in the signpost is conducted ~two days prior to publication. Editors are open and welcome to write up the section: n&n has been putting the whole paper off scedule lately, because no one wants to take the beat standard. Rest assured, I'll finish it before publication :) ResMar 18:15, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Lead version suggestion now on the peer review page. Iridia (talk) 01:56, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- I think that's it on the lead. It does need a mention of how the observatories are producing vast amounts of research in that last paragraph, otherwise it sounds a little as though the observatories were only built to be insensitive :( Also, as much as I like the last two sentences there, maybe shorten that part too? Iridia (talk) 02:49, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- You didn't "do it all wrong": there's lots of good material there! But I thought you did say you wanted it to get through FAC smoothly... ;) I'm happy to help out with the Geology and Observatory sections as needed, including with the restructuring. Iridia (talk) 00:28, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

I've made the changes you recommended in your peer review of Upanishads. You can find a summary here [2]. Let me know how this looks to you. Thanks. Zuggernaut (talk) 17:27, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure what to say
The article isn't finished yet; one of the reviewers said she wanted to continue the review outside the FAC, and we're still waiting on her return. As to my personal feelings, well, FAs are never an end in themselves- I'm always looking towards the next one. Serendipodous 06:24, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Imagemapping
Hey man, great work on imagemapping the line-up graphic for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final. I was wondering, would it be possible for you to template-ify that, so that it doesn't take up so much space in the article? – PeeJay 19:19, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry not to have left a message specially on this page. The merger was done late at night in a rush of other necessary edits at The Signpost; it had been talked about earlier, and was clear from edit-summaries and a post on WP:POST, I think it was. The redundant material was inappropriate, and you've got co-authorship of the whole F and A page for the week. I really don't see the problem. Tony (talk) 07:12, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- The problem is that by doing so, you are minorizing the event to a paragraph and a congradulatory statement, where in the past it was given its own article under dispatches. ResMar 16:37, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
So...
what's our collaboration going to be? ceranthor 15:06, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Not sure. I'm working Mauna Kea right now and it's nearly there. Kilaeua looms large... ResMar 16:35, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm, sounds interesting enough. It's certainly a gigantic topic, though. ceranthor 18:03, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Exactly. So gigantic that the first problem lies in figuring a proper order. I think we should start with "Geology" and index potentially useful references. ResMar 18:09, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Alright. The Armero tragedy FAC is going pretty smoothly; it has plenty of reviews (no !votes) after just two days. ceranthor 18:49, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Wanna take a look at Kea? It needs a good copyedit and perhaps another review or so before I can send it off to FAC. ResMar 18:53, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, I'm up for it. I think we should define our goals, though. Once we finish Kilauea, I'd like to get some more featured lists under the project scope((ndash}} I see you're working on one already, but we should try to write a few more. ceranthor 19:09, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Sure. Featured lists are less bothersome then Featured articles. Have you seen our Portal though? It just passed the FP nom :) ResMar 19:16, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Congratulations!
As you've already spotted, Portal:Volcanoes is now a Featured Portal and so is one of the finest examples of its type on Wikipedia. Well done and thanks for all your hard work in getting it there! - Regarding lists, List of volcanoes by elevation might be a good candidate, assuming a reliable overlisting can be found. Most of the rest are incompletale lists, like List of extraterrestrial volcanoes, and fairly bland "by location" lists. ResMar 19:54, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Oh so true. The elevation one would be tricky... maybe a more specialized one? Hey, do you have time to review Armero tragedy for me? Comments would be appreciated. ceranthor 19:58, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
I will, give me a few hours though. ResMar 20:02, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

FAC
Could you illuminate me as to how this comment aids the FAC? I depend on topic experts in many areas to review FACs; Aw is a geologist. Unless your comment is intended to aid the FAC, it might be better placed on the FAC talk page or my talk page. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 21:24, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- I've talked to Awickert via email, and expressed concern as to his relative inactiveness. He explained to me that he had some RL stuff to work on, and that overall he wasn't getting to do on Wikipedia what he really intended to do. All I'm saying is that notifying him to every single geology FAC that comes up is tired him out. ResMar 21:35, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think so; he is free to say that to me himself if that is the case. Further, I did not ask him; I asked Ceranthor if he knew if Aw planned to review. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 21:44, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- ...Which is indirectly saying that Aw should review the article. Also, Aw is too nice to say anything about it imo :) I think he wanted to rewrite Plate tectonics... ResMar 21:49, 1 September 2010 (UTC):
- You're speculating about Aw; the question here is, how does your comment aid the FAC? If it doesn't, please consider removing it, moving it to the FAC talk page, or my talk page, or somewhere where it won't disrupt the FAC. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 21:55, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, because two sentances are sooooo going to pull WP:FAC down the toilet. The comment was tied to your comment as to a review by Awickert, so it seems appropriate to post a response there. If you want to take it down, go ahead. It's had its desired affect (although, this discussion is proof that it backfired somewhat). ResMar 22:02, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- And what was the desired effect, if I may know? SandyGeorgia (Talk) 22:04, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- To tell you to stop bothering Awickert. Aren't you being a little, dunno, obstinate? It's a two sentance comment, not a decleration of war. ResMar 22:09, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- I'll give your advice consideration, but you fail to notice that I did not "bother Awickert". Now, if you would like to "bother him", you could ask him if I bother him-- the answer might surprise you, and it's usually advantageous to know the answer to a question before you ask it :) Best, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 22:18, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Continued posting on this editor's talk page distracts him from his forthcoming review of Armero tragedy, and is liable to get you slapped by a fish :) ResMar 22:21, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Glad to see some humor developing. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 22:23, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
(outdent) Thanks for both of your concern, but I actually just got back into town yesterday, and am not leaving again in the foreseeable future, and (without knowing it was brought to FAC) started finally looking at Armero tragedy for Ceran. As I helped out with Nevado del Ruiz, I know something about this volcano (and therefore am interested in helping), and I do read and write Spanish fairly well (my spoken Spanish is rapidly going down the toilet). So I'm happy to review. Awickert (talk) 00:30, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, but I won't hold off the requests stream anymore, then. You're sandy's "trusted advisor", which is more then I can say for myself. :) ResMar 00:32, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- ResMar, if you also speak Spanish, I wasn't aware (I have Deep and Mysterious Powers, but I can't read minds :). Also, you follow FAC and Awickert doesn't-- hence the need to ping him when a FAC in his area appears. I hope this reassures you ... but I will likely continue to ping any topic experts I can whenever I can, considering the lack of reviewers ! (Do I get slapped with a fish for responding here? :)) SandyGeorgia (Talk) 00:53, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Me and Spanish aren't friends. It's a terrible drag on my GPA :( I really, really wish I could take Russian, a language I actually want to take, but no dice. By Deep and Mysterious powers, are you refering to your ability to make Malleus, Ealdgyth, and associated writers take part in mindless conversations on your talk page? :) As for the fish, it's too late, I've already eaten it. I can give you a skelaton if you want it D: ResMar 01:10, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

150th portal
Thanks for the tip. What do you think of the draft? Tony (talk) 04:37, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- You shouldn't focus on just the Obama portal, but on all of them, for the same reason that previous FA milestone dispatches focused on the whole group as well. ResMar 14:35, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- FWIW, I agree with ResMar; they were all closed on one day, albeit by two different people. For amusement, I notice that there's a portal up for de-featuring at the moment; if it loses its star, then the Signpost will be able to run another 150th FPo announcement later this year! BencherliteTalk 15:48, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- WE should be moving fowards not backwards! Someone save that portal! :D ResMar 15:52, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- It's safe for the moment - nobody ever goes to featured portal review, unless they're lost and looking for the kitchen or the fire exit... A revamp of the DYK / quotation sections to use random, rather than monthly, selections would probably do it. BencherliteTalk 15:58, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- What's the portal? I'm too lazy to go there ;) ResMar 16:07, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Why was I notified, then, of the 150th, as though it was all that mattered. It's written now, and I'm not going to unwrite it. The others are treated as well, but not in the same detail. Two of them have no links to featured material, so they're lesser creatures on my radar. Tony (talk) 01:39, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- Shrug, wasn't me who told you, and I can't speak for the person who did. It was purely a suggestion that portals were treated the same way as the 3,000th FA. BencherliteTalk 08:05, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Re: Mauna Kea
Hey Mario, Sorry I am just responding to this now, I went to respond, but someone yanked me in another direction (I am always getting pulled 6 ways around here) and completely forgot about it. I did take a look with my best understanding of volcanoes and it does appear to be a very good, well sourced article. Being though that my understanding of volcanoes isn't great (I am more into radio and television stations, as well as towns and cities), I recommend posting on the WP:VOLCANO talk page. If this is in attempt to get GA status, you will need a peer review first. These take about a day or two (since they are backed up) and a reviewer will come along who is knowledgable in volcanoes, give you points on things to fix and what not before going to GA. If you do take it to FA (after getting GA) you will need another PR. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Take Care...Neutralhomer • Talk • 11:19, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- Well that sucks. I've been poking different people trying to get a copyeditor on it but no luck :( It's for an FAC, all it needs is a good copyedit and it will pass easy. Posting it on WP:VOLCANO is generally a delayed response, you can get a better one by contacting everyone directly. It's also went through 1 (or 3, depending on how you look it at) PRs. ResMar 19:23, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- When I did my FAC, I only needed a PR, I didn't need an individual PR or copyedit. Ask User:Wehwalt, he is highly knowledgable in alot of areas and has some FAs under his belt. He might be able to help. He was the one who helped me greatly in my FAC. - Neutralhomer • Talk • 19:30, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- That's a rather circuitous route Neutralhomer. I've never taken an article to PR, but I've taken lots straight to FAC/GAN. Malleus Fatuorum 23:50, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi, do you or does anyone else know whether this tool is going to be fixed up? It seems to be on an acid trip most of the time. The tab is updated for each current month around the middle of the month. Henryk doesn't seem to be responsive. It's a hugely important function for WP. Tony (talk) 09:06, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

What now?
So, I see you are trying to move things along on our FLC page. I agree, I think it is at a point that things need to be decided, but I'm not sure what I can do. I apologize for being so absent, but I have been busy and most of the things people are talking about (mainly the formatting stuff) is over my skill level on Wikipedia. So, is there something specific I should be doing? This is really my first wikipedia nomination of this type (hence the not asking you before I submitted it in the first place, not knowing what to do now, etc), so my newb status is showing right about now in the form of a blank stare at the page... Removing my comments
If you disagree with me, then reply, don't just remove my comments. You may think it's worth spending donation money on consultants that make recommendations like balancing the colors of the penises, but I don't. Gigs (talk) 21:25, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- Please reword your comments, preferably so as not to use "black dicks". That or grow up. ResMar 21:32, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- I'm kind of confused by your comments and edit summaries. I looked through the history of the signpost drafts, and it looks like the material about black penises was added at the last minute, here [3]. Maybe you didn't notice this, and that's why you aren't understanding my comments, and think them to be some kind of random immaturity. Gigs (talk) 04:49, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
Incivility
Hello, I am wondering what you were attempting to achieve with this comment. From J Milburn's and Gigs' sections above, I can see that this was not a unique incident, so please consider this a formal warning to maintain good faith and a civil attitude while editing. Regards, Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 19:59, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- In addition, with regards to your edit notice, I question the need for the second line, considering you are not an administrator and the incivil tone. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 20:04, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- If you want to purposefully delay the addition of meaningful content, well, be my guest. I was enticing fancies regarding improving the portal, and read a really idiotic comment on the talk page. Yes, we should totally delay everything to match some timeframe. I was also thinking about taking out a few books regarding some of the OMT stuff, but that's another issue.
- As for the editnotice: did I ever intend to convey that I was an administrator? Must every joking comment have a smiley face at the end of it for it to be civil? A sense of sarcasm is required.
- J Milburn: see the FA page; the two images in question were my personal favorites and I didn't want to let go of them. Tried to work something out with OTRS but nothing came of it.
- Gigs: Yeah, black cocks is SUCH appropriate language.
- Final warning: WP:DGAF says it quite well. It might get me blocked once in a while, but I'm not about to cower. ResMar 20:56, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Canvassing
Hi Resmar, I'm reading over FAC today and saw the discussion between you and Sandy about canvassing. I think that you may have misunderstood the policy. Neither Sandy nor I have any problem with nominators asking wp-experts in the field to take a look at the article, and this type of request does not violate WP:CANVASS as long as it is worded neutrally. However, if a nominator specifically asks that the other editor think about supporting, or in any other way implies what outcome (s)he would like to see, that would violate WP:CANVASS. In the future, if you feel the need to contact other volcano editors, please make sure to leave a very neutral statement (along the lines of "My article X is at FAC (here). I'd appreciate any feedback you could provide."). Karanacs (talk) 13:08, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
WP:Volcanoes
- Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Volcanoes, Volcanoguy asks: "if mines within volcanics should be included". I do not have a problem with volcanic pipes, stub quality level, start quality level. Copper minning in flood basalts is more of a problem, I think. Would u like to throw ur two cents? Thx. --Chris.urs-o (talk) 18:47, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

CSS3 awesomeness
So I started working on something today (instead of finishing up an article like I should be), and I just realized how powerful MediaWiki can still be even though it blocks most of the cool html/css tricks... so take a peek here and be inspired (or frightened!) :) /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 00:54, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

- I saw css skew mentioned online when searching for something about non-js galleries. Some MediaWiki-compatible stuff can be seen at [12]. If WP allowed raw html to be used, then anything and everything could be done, but it's a security risk, so no fancy hover effects :( /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 01:32, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
- Where do you find all these commands? <wants to know> ResMar 00:57, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
- I can't see how some of it is a security risk =| ResMar 01:36, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
- Allowing raw html on any page means that anyone can insert malicious code into a page and those accessing it would be harmed. There is an MW extension to only allow protected pages to use raw html, but it's not completely foolproof, as MW was not designed for this sort of use. The only WMF wiki with raw html allowed is the Foundation wiki, because only certain people have accounts. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 01:56, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
- Which sucks, because I was thinking of getting an account there, but then read the guidelines: have to be an admin somewhere. Dicks =( ResMar 02:02, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

Mauna Kea
Just dropping a note to say I reverted your prompt at the Mauna Kea FAC discussion. It really won't help people be positive about reviewing if they see comments like that. You did the right thing when you asked Rlevse on their talk page whether they would come and take a look. I've done the same for Ucucha, Kablammo and Avenue (who all commented during round one), making sure I didn't use a wording that could be construed as canvassing. It is best to leave it at that. If it gets through, it gets through, if not, c'est la vie. But we're all volunteers here, so it's best not to use words that could be taken as complaining. hamiltonstone (talk) 02:01, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- Have you seen some of my earlier projects? Loihi quite literally didn't pass 3 times because no one bothered to comment. I lost faith in freehand commentating a long, long time ago. ResMar 02:35, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

- Vid, I was rather frustrated when my flings at Loihi and Hawaii hotspot were hitting solid wall; why do you think I took such a long wikibreak? ResMar 02:48, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

- The thing is, FAC's are not advertised all that well, if at all. We should have a bot that updates related projects and users (based on page history). Viriditas (talk) 03:24, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- I just reckon you don't attract reviewers by making comments on the FAC archive page - if someone is there, they are already engaged with the review process. As Viriditas suggests, one option is to contact project talk pages; another is targetting likely reviewers, as long as one is selective and uses neutral language - which is exactly what you wree doing with Rlevse. I'm hoping that having contacted four or so, we will get enough attention out of that. hamiltonstone (talk) 06:00, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but on 21 October, this article was tagged as a copyright violation for copying or too closely paraphrasing this source. The week listing period has passed, but you don't seem to have been notified of the tag, so I am relisting it to give you time to respond and letting you know. On a cursory glance, I would imagine that the concern has to do with close following of the structure of the copyrighted source and similarity of language, since I don't see blanket duplication by any means. If you have specific questions about the copyright concerns, please address them with the tagger. If you don't discuss it at the article's talk page, please add a link to the conversation where you do. And, of course, should you agree that the content constitutes a concern, you can simply rewrite it to separate it further from the source. If you want to talk to me further about it, please drop me a note at my talk page. Since this is a courtesy notice, I won't be watchlisting yours. :) Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:32, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

I added a new section that I would like you to review. It's about a portion of the Ninety East Ridge being the antipodal point of the Yucatan Crater that ended the Jurassic Era and wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. Volcanoes are commonly formed at the antipodal points of major meteor impact craters. This impact could possibly be what formed the volcanoes of or at least parts of the Ninety East Ridge.

Hi Resident Mario, back on the 16 nov 2010 you left a very kind note and invitation on my talk page. You must think I am very rude to take so long to respond. I have just been very busy and a bit too distracted however I had not forgotten or overlooked it. Thank for that invitation, I am interested and I am also a little embarrassed about my lack of an appropriate prior response. I have now gone to Volcanoes Wikiproject and put my name on the list. Thanks again for the invite, I hope I can make a useful contribution. Felix (talk) 13:24, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
- It's all cool. I've been taking a break for a while, so I'm neither here nor there at the moment :) ResMar 16:20, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Axial Seamount Map Request
Hi Mario - your outstanding request at the Map Workshop is attempted. Could you let me know if there are other changes required, and if not, please mark the entry as resolved? Jon C (talk) 23:14, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
I've finished going through this and it looks pretty good to me now, although it would I suppose. :-) Malleus Fatuorum 03:27, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- Do you think I should put it up on nom? I have a terrible habit of irl getting in the way of my noms, so I think I might bother someone for a conom first. ResMar 15:26, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
